College Football 25 had big updates in August 2024, including several improvements to overall gameplay and the Dynasty and Ultimate Team modes. Amazon's Cyber Monday Sale Dropped Tons of Logitech Keyboards, Mice and Gaming Accessory Deals

3 décembre 2024 à 06:43

Logitech handles a wide range of devices and has for ages. From mice to keyboards, gaming devices and headsets to streaming and podcasting equipment, Logitech means a good blend of affordability and quality. Right now. Logitech is offering major discounts on Amazon, as well as the main Logitech and Logitech G websites, so read on to find some of the best Cyber Monday deals on Logitech gear.

Logitech Mouse & Keyboard Deals

We had great things to say about both the G502 X Plus and G502 Lightspeed mice, so saving a ton on the G502 X Lightspeed gaming mouse is one of the best choices you can make on this list. We also reviewed the base model of the G305, and the better Lightspeed version is on sale.

Whether you want a tiny, low-profile keyboard like the MX Keys Mini, or a mechanical keyboard like the G815, there are tons of options that are between 21-40% off.

Logitech Headset Deals

Logitech has been carving out quite the niche for themselves with higher quality headsets, and there are quite a few (and some entry-level headsets) between 24-54% off. The H390 is just $17.99, but if you want to up the ante, the G435 base model got our seal of approval, and the Lightspeed version here is better.

For the best on offer here, the G Pro X series is full-on amazing, and the Logitech G Pro X 2 (not even the Lightspeed model on sale currently) won our Best Esports gaming headset award.

Logitech Webcam & Microphone Deals

I've used both the C922x Pro and StreamCam and they both work really well. Our reviewer agreed, when they called the StreamCam 'Logitech's best webcam yet.' Whether you are streaming, making online content, or just trying to up your game on Zoom calls, these deals have you covered for whatever price range you're working with. Both the C920 series and StreamCam also made appearances in our Best Webcam roundup.

For podcasting and content creation, the Blue Yeti is the entry-level standard for a reason. If you tweak some settings (make sure you're on Cartioid, people!), it has good enough recording quality for all but the most committed audio-enthusiasts.

Logitech G29 Driving Force Racing Wheel and Floor Pedals

Logitech G920 Driving Force Racing Wheel and Floor Pedals

Logitech G Driving Force Shifter

The Logitech G920 series got a nod in our Best Racing Wheel list as our "Best Budget Racing Wheel", and we were a big fan of the G29 Driving Force steering wheel in our review, so take advantage of saving $100 on that wheel and increase your gaming immersion.

Insomniac's Spider-Man was a smash hit when it was first released in 2018, and 2023's Spider-Man 2, starring Miles Morales as the playable Spidey protagonist, was no different. If you haven't played it, you owe it to yourself to get it ASAP. With improved movement options and the ability to play as Miles or Peter, it's the best gameplay the series has seen yet.

Right now, Spider-Man 2 is roughly half off for Cyber Monday at Best Buy, Target, and GameStop, so jump on this opportunity before it swings right by you.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (PS5) for $39

If you want to convince a friend to grab a PlayStation 5 to play with you, tell them to grab this deal on a PS5 now, and if you’ve been looking to try out VR on PlayStation, the PSVR2 Horizon: Call of the Mountain bundle is a whopping $250 off. Last Chance to Save on This Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deal for $250

3 décembre 2024 à 06:13

Take a couple of chores off a loved one's plate or even your own this holiday season by investing in a killer Cyber Monday deal on a robot vacuum. Sure, cleaning tools may not be as exciting as a discount on Switch or Lego sales, but grabbing a robot vacuum means more free time for playing, building, and doing far more exciting things than vacuuming and mopping your home.

One of the best discounts on a robot vacuum comes from Amazon’s Cyber Monday sale. The Eufy x10 Pro Omni Robot Vacuum and Mop is available for $549.99. That’s 31% off the list price of $799.99, and a great deal given all the capabilities packed into this little machine and base station. It's also part of the Walmart Cyber Monday sale for the same price.

Save $250 on This Top Tier 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum and Base Station

I’ve tested over a dozen robot vacuums, including a slightly older model of this vacuum, and I can attest that Eufy makes quality products and offers a highly intuitive app to make cleaning even easier by mapping your space, adjusting vacuum levels, and updating you when the vacuum runs into problems.

The X10 Pro Omni is a higher-end robot vacuum in Eufy’s lineup but available at a midrange price thanks to that deep Cyber Monday discount. It mops and vacuums your floor simultaneously by intelligently lifting the mopping pads over carpets and rugs to keep them dry. I love the convenience of these 2-in-1 robots. With 8,000 Pa suction, excellent obstacle avoidance, and powerful oscillating mops, you can send the vacuum off to do its thing with minimal intervention. The process is even more hands-off as the base station empties the dust box, washes the mopping pads, and dries them to prevent odor. So, you can just go about your day as it cleans for you.

Check Out These Other Excellent Cyber Monday Robot Vacuums Deals

Looking for something a little different? There are plenty of other excellent robot vacuums on sale, including options from Best Buy's Cyber Monday deals and the Target Cyber Monday discounts. I’ve included a few of my favorites below. Though I haven’t personally reviewed all of these picks, each one comes from brands I’ve tested before and trust.

The Entire Final Fantasy Collection Anniversary Edition Is Just $55 for Cyber Monday

3 décembre 2024 à 05:31

If you enjoy fantasy or RPGs, there is a good chance a Final Fantasy game is on your ‘best’ list. Whether you like the newest remake or like delving into the originals, there is a lot to like, and the Final Fantasy Anniversary Collection is on sale right now, helping you save $20 on six of the most influential FF games ever made.

Final Fantasy I - VI Collection Anniversary Edition for $54.99

My favorites from this list are IV and VI. I’m not sure what that means about me, that if you put a V and an I in the title of a Final Fantasy game, I’m inclined to like it (particularly because I also enjoy VII, VIII, and XVI). If you want more game deals, check out our hub of the best PS5 Game Deals.

Speaking of Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (which is fantastic) is at its lowest price ever. If you prefer the FromSoftware brand of RPGs, Elden Ring is too, which gives you an easy way to enjoy this year’s Shadow Of the Erdtree DLC, which was nominated for Game Of The Year at The Game Awards, and is also discounted right now.

More Game Deals

If you don’t have a PlayStation 5 yet, you can grab a deal on a new PS5 now, and the PSVR 2 Horizon: Call of the Mountain bundle is $250 off. If you, like me, prefer to game on the go, there are some great deals on PC handhelds, too.

Here Are the Best Cyber Monday TV Deals Still Live Right Now

3 décembre 2024 à 05:06

Cyber Monday has only five hours remaining, and the big retailers (Target, Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart) still have excellent deals on TVs. Whether you're on a budget and want the biggest TV you can get for the least amount of money, or you're at the other end of the spectrum and you're willing to pay more for the best quality and features (while still getting a good price, of course), there's a deal here for everyone. Browse our favorite deals on TVs right now across different price points, sizes, and top brands (TCL, Sony, Hisense, Samsung, and LG).

TL;DR

The Best Cyber Monday TV Deals

What's the Best 43-inch TV Deal for Cyber Monday?

As of December 2nd, according to Google Trends, shoppers are looking for smaller TVs. Whether it be for an outdoor patio, a kitchen, or a bedroom, smaller TVs still got game. One of the best deals we found on a great 43-inch TV is paying just $178 for the TCL 43" Q Class 4K UHD HDR QLED Smart TV with Google TV, which is on sale for $100 off at Walmart today. Another safe option is the Amazon Fire TV 43" 4-Series 4K UHD smart TV, which is just $230 for Cyber Monday at Amazon (usually $370).

TVs Under $500 for Cyber Monday

65" LG Evo C3 4K OLED TV

I've been waiting for another good OLED TV deal to pop up for Cyber Monday ever since the previous one expired, and Amazon has finally delivered. Right now you can pick up a 65" LG Evo C3 4K OLED Smart TV for only $1,272 shipped. The LG Evo C-series OLED TVs have won top spots in several of our buying guides, including best 4K TV, best TV for gaming, and best TV for the PlayStation 5. This is an especially good choice if you picked up the new PS5 Pro, since the updated hardware will be able to run more games at a consistent 4K @ 120fps.

55" Hisense R6 4K Roku TV

The entry-level Hisense R6-series 4K smart TV offers a limited set of features in exchange for a rock bottom price. Don't expect this TV to be decked out with the latest cutting-edge technology, however what you'll get is a native 4K TV that works out of the box and still offers solid image quality that will satisfy most TV watchers. It has built-in speakers and Roku smart TV baked in. Roku is actually our favorite streaming hub because of its intuitive interface.

85" Hisense R6 4K Roku TV

If you have space to accommodate a much larger TV and you're looking for an excuse to fill up all that wall space, then this Cyber Monday deal should be a convincing argument. Walmart is offering the massive 85" version of its entry-level Hisense R6 4K Roku TV for - get this - $548. There are certainly better gaming TVs out there, but you'll have to pay hundreds (or even thousands) more for a TV this size.

65" Samsung S90D 4K OLED Smart TV

Here's your chance to get one of the best OLED TVs on the market at an amazing price. Right now, Samsung, Amazon, and Best Buy are offering the current 2024 model 65" Samsung S90D 4K OLED Smart TV for only $1,399.99 after a massive 48% off price drop. This is an excellent TV to pair up with your PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X. In fact, this TV could even be a better gaming TV than the LG C4. Although we haven't personally tested it, RTINGS says that the S90D is brighter, has a wider color gamut, better color volume, wider viewing angle, and better HDR gradient handling.

55" Samsung The Frame Series 4K Smart TV

The Samsung LS03D is the new 2024 model and it is on sale at an appreciable discount for the first time. Every size is currently marked down, but the best deals are for the 55" model for $899.99 and the 65" model for $1299.99. Samsung's "The Frame" sets itself apart from all other TVs with its seamless aesthetics. It features an Art Mode that showcases your choice of fine art similar to a screen saver on your computer. You can choose art purchased from the Samsung Art Store or your own personal collection of NFTs, personal photos, wallpapers, or whatever else you want displayed. The TV bezel is thin and can be customized with different colors and designs to make it look like an art frame. No TV stand is included because "The Frame" is supposed to look more like a painting than a TV set. Instead, you get a slim wall mount.

75" Westinghouse 4K Roku TV for $399.99

The Target Black Friday Sale is also live, and there are two TVs that are worth consider for any budget shopper. Target has slashed the price on this 75" Westinghouse 4K Roku TV down to $399.99 after a $100 instant discount. That makes it one of the least expensive 75" TVs we've seen so far. Like the Hisense R6, this TV boasts the intuitive Roku smart TV interface for immediate out-of-the-box enjoyment.

65" Hisense 4K Smart TV for $254.99

Target's second TV deal is this H65" Hisense A6 Xumo TV for $255 shipped. Again, this is one of the least expensive 65" TV deals we've seen so far and has a good chance of staying that way. This Hisense TV uses the uncommon Xumo TV smart interface. I'm sure it's pretty simple to use, although I haven't tried it out myself. If you would rather use a smart interface that's more familliar to you, you can pick up a Fire TV Stick 4K for $21.99 or a Roku Ultra LT for $34.

85" Hisense QD7 4K 144Hz QLED Gaming TV

Best Buy and Walmart have dropped the price on the 85" Hisense QD7 4K Smart TV. Right now, you can get it for just $799.99 after a $400 instant discount. This is an excellent deal for a huge TV that can run games in 4K at up to 144Hz on your PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X console. It costs hundreds of dollars less than every TV in our roundup of the best TVs for PlayStation 5. If you bought a PS5 Pro, perhaps this will help alleviate the sting of spending $700 on a console.

55" Hisense U7 Series 4K QLED Mini-LED Google TV

The Hisense U7 is a high-end TV (the second best TV in Hisense's lineup after the U8) at a low end price. It has all the features that befits a premium TV, like a quantum dot Mini-LED panel with full array local dimming, a 120Hz panel capable of up to 144Hz variable refresh rate, both Dolby Vision and HDR 10+ support, and HDMI 2.1 inputs so you can play PS5 and Xbox Series X games in 4K at up to 120fps.

55" TCL F35-Series 4K Fire TV

Best Buy has its own sale going on, with the most TV deals of any retailer at the moment. The best deal for budget shoppers right now is this 55" Insignia F50 4K Fire TV for $179.99, making it comparable in price to Walmart's Hisense 55" TV deal. The difference is that the Insignia F50 uses Amazon Fire TV instead of Roku. Choose your TV depending on which streaming interface you prefer. Insignia is Best Buy's house brand and this TV lineup is generally priced well below what most mainstream TV manufacturers can compete against.

98" TCL QM7 4K QLED Mini-LED Google TV

If you're in the "bigger is better" camp, have we found the deal for you. Amazon is currently offering this massive 98" TCL QM7 4K Smart TV for only $1999.99. This is a 2024 model with a lot of premium features, like a quantum dot Mini-LED display, a native 120Hz panel with up to 144Hz VRR and HDMI 2.1 inputs for the best possible gaming experience on your PS5 or Xbox Series X console, and an intuitive Google TV interface that works seamlessly with your Android phone.

65" Hisense CanvasTV and TCL NXTFRAME Art TVs

Do you like the idea of the Samsung The Frame TV series but don't want to pay the Samsung prices? Both Hisense and TCL have cheaper alternatives of more or less the same thing. These TVs are designed to look more like an art installation than a blank TV screen when you're not using it. As such, they share similar characteristics to The Frame TV, including the matte display, picture frame style bezel, and included ultra-slim wall mount.

77" 4K OLED TVs at Low Prices

OLED TVs still command a premium price, but they've still come down enormously over the years. For Black Friday, you can pick up one of two 2024 77" OLED TVs for only $1599.99. That's an excellent deal considering the fact that this is the price for a 65" OLED TV on any given day. Both TVs are 2024 models and have true OLED panels, meaning they offer near infinite black levels and near instantaneous response time. They are both equipped with a native 120Hz panel and HDMI 2.1 ports, so you can play games on the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X unencumbered.

The Samsung Cyber Monday Sale

If you're looking to buy a TV from one of the big three brands (Samsung, LG, or Sony), Samsung has the best deals going right now. Samsung's Cyber Monday Sale has significant price drops on 2024 model TVs. Most of these discounts can also be redeemed at third party retailer like Amazon and Best Buy. One TV - the QNX1D - is a Samsung.com exclusive.

Ordered by size, smallest to largest:

75" Samsung DU6950 4K Smart TV

This excellent deal is exclusive to Best Buy. The Samsung DU6950 is an entry level TV for those of you who trust and want to stick with the Samsung brand but are still looking for a budget TV. This an updated 2024 model that makes for a great basic gaming TV thanks to its low response time and variable refresh rate.

Looking for a PlayStation 5 deal to pair with your TV?

Amazon, Best Buy, and Target are three of Sony's major authorized resellers and the discounts remain live on-site even after Black Friday. If price isn't a factor and you're more concerned about getting the "best" TV for your particular needs, check out our picks for the best 4K TV or the best gaming TV.

How Skeleton Crew Introduces Suburbs to Star Wars

3 décembre 2024 à 04:30

Warning: this article contains spoilers for the first two episodes of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew! You can check out IGN's review of the first two episodes.

We may be nearing the end of 2024, but Disney has one final new Star Wars series to close out the year. Though Skeleton Crew takes place in the same general time period as shows like The Mandalorian and Ahsoka, it tells a very different kind of Star Wars story. This isn’t a show about a wandering gunfighter or a veteran Jedi fighting for the fate of the galaxy. It’s about a group of ordinary kids from the suburbs lost and in over their heads.

Since when does the Star Wars universe even have suburbs? What is it like living in one? And how does Skeleton Crew go about trying to flesh out this more down-to-earth corner of the galaxy? To learn more, IGN spoke with series creators Jon Watts and Chris Ford. Read on to learn how the series makes the ordinary feel extraordinary.

What Does a Star Wars Suburb Look Like?

Historically, the Star Wars franchise has only ever shown us how certain types of citizens live and work in a galaxy far, far away. Our heroes tend to fall into one of a few specific molds. Some are farmers or slaves eking out a living on far-flung worlds like Tatooine. Some are smugglers or bounty hunters who travel wherever the next job takes them. And some are residents in fantastical space metropolises like Coruscant.

Andor was the first Star Wars project to really create the sense that there’s another, more ordinary form of existence in the Star Wars universe. Skeleton Crew takes that idea and runs with it. The world of Atatten is wholly unlike anything we’ve seen before. It’s a peaceful world where citizens dwell in suburbs and drive to work every day. It’s a place where our heroes ride the bus, attend school, and dream of adventures in the stars.

“We wanted the story to start with a group of kids coming from somewhere that feels a little bit calmer, a little bit more safe,” Watts tells IGN. “And we thought there has to be a middle class somewhere in the galaxy. It's a big galaxy. And Andor had already sort of explored some of these other parts of the galaxy that you never really see before. So we thought it made sense to show kids that live in a neighborhood.”

Naturally, it’s no easy task to design a suburb that feels both immediately familiar and evokes the architecture and general feel of the Star Wars universe. Watts admits, “It's hard to make things seem boring sometimes in Star Wars because it's automatically fun and cool and exciting because it's Star Wars.”

“It's hard to make things seem boring sometimes in Star Wars because it's automatically fun and cool and exciting because it's Star Wars.”

Watts continues, “For us, it was coming at it from a story perspective, how do we create a world that feels like something you would want to get away from to go on an adventure, that isn't just the recognizable things from Star Wars that you've already seen before being out in a desert and things like that.”

“And we had, obviously, this amazing team behind it. So when we were starting to design, how does a suburb look? What do the houses look like?” Ford adds. “These houses that were both mundane, but seemed so cool, I wanted to live in one.

Watts notes that Lucasfilm’s Senior Vice President and Executive Design Director Doug Chiang was especially instrumental in nailing the look and feel of a Star Wars suburb.

“Yeah, Lucasfilm, you talked to Doug Chiang,” Watts says. “How do you take this idea that we have and this sort of story that we need to tell and how do you visualize that? And then they come back with these brilliant concepts.”

As much as the goal with Atatten is to establish a more suburban and ordinary corner of the Star Wars universe, it’s also clear from the first two episodes that there’s more than meets the eye to Atatten. Take, for example, the planet’s extreme isolationism, to the point where even the night sky is drowned out by the glow of a planetary shield. And what about the fact that no one our wayward heroes meet in Episode 2 seems to know where Atatten is located or even believes it’s a real place?

“There's definitely more to Atatten than meets the eye,” Watts teases. “That's one of the big mysteries of the show that's sort of fun to tease out over all the eight episodes.”

The Amblin Effect

Much has been made about how Skeleton Crew homages classic Amblin Entertainment movies from the ‘80s. In some ways, the show is basically the Star Wars version of The Goonies, with a group of ordinary kids from the suburbs embarking on a larger-than-life adventure together. But as Watts explains, the goal with the series is less about referencing specific Amblin movies than it is drawing on that general tone and thirst for adventure.

“We never sat down and specifically said, ‘Oh, we want to reference these sorts of movies,’" Watts says. “To us, those movies were just how we grew up. Those were the movies that we saw as a kid, and they're just sort of ingrained in you. They're like a part of your DNA.”

Watts continues, “So to me, it was less about specifically referencing Amblin, and it was more about the feeling that I had when I was 10 growing up not in the suburbs, on kind of a farm in the middle of nowhere in Colorado, and just you'd be 10 and you and your friend would just go walk in a field in a straight line hoping that you're going to sort of stumble across some kind of adventure. You're hoping you're going to get abducted by aliens or find a buried pirate ship or something like that. And it never would happen. The sun would just start to go down and you'd have to turn around and go home. But it's more trying to get to that feeling and that search for an adventure that sort of, I think is kind of universal among kids. And that those Amblin movies really were able to dramatize so effectively.”

"It's more trying to get to that feeling and that search for an adventure that sort of, I think is kind of universal among kids."

Alongside filtering a traditional suburb through a Star Wars lens, the series’ biggest challenge is probably balancing the fact that it’s focused on a group of preteen heroes with the need to create a conflict with real stakes and drama. How hard is it to craft a story where a group of lost children go up against hardened space pirates? Here, as much as anywhere else, is where the series really leans on its Amblin roots.

“One of the things that they say about Amblin films is that they never thought of them as kids' movies,” Watts says. “They always thought of them as grown-up movies that just happened to star kids. And so that was always a tonal balance that we had to keep in mind. We never wanted to feel like it was a kids' show. We wanted the danger to be real. We wanted to make sure people feel afraid that bad things could happen to these kids so that it doesn't feel too juvenile. And yeah, that was a tonal thing that we were considering the whole time.”

“The pirates are dangerous, but they're not, say, an organized military like the Empire,” Ford says. “So we try to show that from the very get-go from the opening scene that they are a menace, but they're a little more chaotic. So maybe a kid has a chance to slip through their fingers.

Skeleton Crew is a very traditional Star Wars project in at least one sense. Ravi Cabot-Conyers’ Wim is a hero cut from the same cloth as Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker. He’s a boy chafing at his ordinary surroundings and yearning for adventure in the stars. But as much as Wym falls into that heroic archetype, the series is also about showing the dark side of that particular dream.

“The thing is that it's kind of Wim's fault that they're out there the way they are,” Ford notes. “He just had that extra piece of being a dreamer. Maybe there's a dark side to that of being a little bit too irresponsible. And I think we kind of got a kick out of the idea of taking that kind of beloved dreamer character. And we're going to kind of put Wim through the ringer and say, ‘Maybe you do need to grow up a little bit.’”

Skeleton Crew’s Time Period

It may not share many apparent connections to shows like The Mandalorian and Ahsoka, but Skeleton Crew is set in the same general time period. This is an era where the remnants of the Empire have retreated to the far fringes of the galaxy, leaving the New Republic free to begin expanding and restoring law and order to the galaxy. Though as the show’s opening crawl makes clear, there are still many places where the New Republic’s limited reach can’t touch. That’s allowed piracy to flourish, as our young heroes are quickly discovering.

Why set Skeleton Crew in this period specifically? How different would the series have been if it took place during the height of the Empire or the Clone Wars? As Ford explains, it was mainly about choosing a point in the Star Wars timeline when Wim and friends would be least likely to find help from the authorities.

“When we started with the concept of the kids getting lost in the galaxy and being kind of on their own, [we found] that if we set it in a different time period, it just wasn't quite as optimized for that problem,” Ford says. “If you're 50 or something years in the past or the future, who knows? Maybe they would get helped by someone. So that we felt like in this post-Empire New Republic is building up, but not super-powerful yet time, it was a bit more lawless. It was a bit more room for the piracy to flourish.”

Watts adds, “And it was basically kind of the worst possible time if you're 10 years old to get lost in the galaxy because there's not necessarily a lot of people out there that you're going to be able to save you.”

Of course, it didn’t hurt that The Mandalorian creators Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have been so busy fleshing out this particular Star Wars era. Skeleton Crew may not be a direct spinoff of The Mandalorian, but it does build on the notion that piracy is a real concern in this period.

Ford says, “And as we were getting up and running and working so closely with John Favreau and Dave Filoni, that time period, they had already figured so much out about, and it was like this working group of how it was all going to function.”

Watts adds, “Yeah, they had started exploring the pirate side of the galaxy in live action and we just were able to take that and run with it.”

The first two episodes of Skeleton Crew are streaming on Disney+ now.

You Can Still Enjoy Over $100 Off a New Dyson Airwrap Before Cyber Monday Ends

3 décembre 2024 à 03:50

Need a high-end gift this holiday season? Anyone with longer locks will appreciate the Dyson Airwrap. It went viral for a reason, and now’s the perfect time to buy. Cyber Monday sales are bringing the biggest discounts of the year to this wildly capable hair styling tool across multiple retailers. You can score up to $110 off a new Airwrap, and if you go for a refurbished option, the savings are even greater.

The Dyson Airwrap skips heat damage, opting for the Coanda effect and precise temperature control to dry and style your hair. This technology prevents frizz, flyaways, and breakage for a sleek, fresh-from-the-salon look while curling, straightening, or smoothing your tresses.

Depending on hair type, Dyson offers several models of Airwrap with different attachments that work best. Right now, the special edition Airwrap for curly to coily hair that features a diffuser tool and the special edition Airwrap for long straight to wavy hair with its detangling comb have the most widespread discounts. Each comes with six additional accessories to ensure all styling needs are met and features a sleek strawberry bronze and blush pink finish.

Save $100 on These Special Edition Dyson Airwraps for Curly and Long Hair

Enjoy Deep Cyber Monday Discounts on Refurbished Dyson Airwraps

The Dyson Airwrap is a splurge. So, if you’re looking for even deeper discounts on the hair styling tool you may want to consider a refurbished option. The thought of purchasing a “used” Airwrap is a little nerve-racking but rest assured that each product is quality tested before heading out for resale and comes with a one-year warranty. Walmart and Best Buy both offer excellent refurbished options. However, it looks like Walmart's deal was so good, it sold out.

The Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryers are $100+ off for Cyber Monday too!

It's your last chance to grab Amazon Cyber Monday deals and Walmart Cyber Monday discounts on Dyson hair products. Be sure to grab them before it's too late. Chances are you good you won't see sales like this for the rest of the year.

Lenovo Drops the LOQ RTX 4060 Gaming PC to $715 for Cyber Monday

Par : Eric Song
3 décembre 2024 à 04:15

In the final hours of Cyber Monday, Lenovo has discounted its Lenovo LOQ Intel Core i5 RTX 4060 gaming PC to only $714.99 shipped. That is one of the best deals we've seen on an RTX 4060 equipped gaming PC from Lenovo. The LOQ is Lenovo's budget line of gaming PCs for those of you who don't want to pay more for a Legion. Despite the lower price, the LOQ offers similar performance, a compact chassis with good airflow, an efficient 500W power supply, and modern-day conveniences like Wi-Fi 6 and front panel USB Type-C. It's backed by a 1 year Lenovo warranty.

Lenovo LOQ RTX 4060 Gaming PC for $715

The Lenovo LOQ is equipped with an Intel Core i5-1440F CPU, GeForce RTX 4060 8GB GPU, 16GB of DDR5-4800MHz RAM, and a 512GB NVMe SSD. The 14th gen Intel Core i5-1440F Raptor Lake "Refresh" CPU boasts a max clock of 4.7GHz with 10 cores, 16 threads, and a 20MB cache. This is a very capable processor that performs nearly as well in gaming as the Intel Core i7 at a more reasonable cost.

The RTX 4060 is considerably more powerful than the RTX 3060 and almost nearly matches the RTX 3060 Ti. This is a solid budget card for comfy 1080p gaming. You could also run games at 1440p with relaxed graphic settings, but at that point I'd recommend upgrading to an RTX 4060 Ti. Because the RTX 4060 is a current gen GPU, it supports DLSS 3.0, which gives you more frames in exchange for a slight hit in visual quality, similar to "Performance" mode for PS5 or Xbox.

For those of you on a budget, the RTX 4060 is going to be your best NVIDIA GPU that you're going to find for under $1000, and this Lenovo LOQ is $250 under that threshold. What's more, this is a pre-built Lenovo config with a manufacturer's warranty, so you'll avoid the hassle of building DIY and dealing with component warranties.

More Gaming PC Deals Are Available for Cyber Monday

Check out more of the best gaming PC deals from other retailers, like Best Buy, Alienware, HP Omen, and Lenovo. They're offering some great deals on gaming PC configurations that are equipped with different GPUs from the ones listed above, like a more budget RTX 4060 build or a monster RTX 4090 rig. Chances are there's a deal that fits your requirements.

If you prefer to shop by retailer, we've written up Cyber Monday Deals roundups for each of the major retailers: Amazon, Target, Walmart, Best Buy, and Gamestop. Check them out below:

Black Friday vs Cyber Monday

In most instances, you can consider Cyber Monday as a one day extension of Black Friday. Traditionally, Black Friday was known as the "retail holiday," where the best deals were found in-store, and Cyber Monday was known as the "online holiday," where the best deals were online only. Although today the lines are very much blurred, it is still true that many online only retailers still consider Cyber Monday the sale event of the year instead of Black Friday. Expect some amazing sales to come out of online-only sites like Amazon, Newegg, Dell, HP, Lenovo and several online-only deals from traditional retailers like Best Buy, Target, and Walmart.

Steam's Autumn Sale Is Still Live, But I Found Better Deals on Metaphor, Silent Hill 2, and More on Fanaitcal

3 décembre 2024 à 04:06

I adore PC gaming. It's the platform that gets almost every game, with plenty coming out before they reach consoles. And, if you enjoy your games on PC like I do, you know one of the best times to buy games is during Steam's sales. Many people (myself included) have been looking forward to the Steam Autumn Sale, which runs from now until December 4.

Strangely, the Steam Autumn sale is currently being outdone by a Cyber Monday sale going on at Fanatical, even though Fanatical is selling the exact same Steam keys. If you want to buy some games and save extra cash, check out these great deals on digital PC game codes.

Metaphor: ReFantazio for $45.49

This Atlus RPG is one of my current obsessions. It's $45.49 on Fanatical or $52.49 on Steam. Metaphor: ReFantazio was also nominated for Game of the Year at The Game Awards.

In our 9/10 review of Metaphor, Michael Higham said, "There’s a certain familiarity in Metaphor: ReFantazio, but Atlus takes the principles of its already excellent RPGs and refines them in a way that effortlessly ushers you through its brutal, and sometimes beautiful, new fantasy world. The Archetype system and all the new wrinkles it added to the turn-based battles build upon a strong foundation, and the social elements are streamlined to better deliver the most important aspects of the stories they tell. The sense of adventure you get from traveling across the kingdom and the powerful sense of purpose you have to do so drive its memorable journey, distinguishing itself from those that came before it."

"When I finally closed the book on Metaphor after 80 hours, I felt a unique warmth in its message, because it’s driven by the ideals of a just society smartly contextualized in a unique metanarrative. Metaphor: ReFantazio is poetic, and at times, idealistic, but it also understands its complexities and that change requires action, and that even far-fetched fantasy stories can serve as inspiration to make our world a better place."

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree for $35.19

This Steam Deck playable masterpiece is one of the finest pieces of DLC I've ever played. It's only $35.19 on Fanatical, and full price at $39.99 on Steam. Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree was also nominated for Game of the Year at The Game Awards.

In our 10/10 review of Shadow of the Edrtree, Mitchell Saltzman said, "FromSoftware says Shadow of the Erdtree is the only expansion Elden Ring will get, so it’s fortunate that it’s hard to imagine a better DLC than this – as long as you’re not hoping for it to do anything radically outside the box. Everything I loved about the original has been condensed into an incredibly tight package – one that’s the size of many standalone games all on its own, and can only be considered “small” in comparison to the absolutely massive world of Elden Ring itself."

"Erdtree’s absolutely jam-packed with secrets, valuable treasures, challenging boss battles, and horrific monstrosities to face off against, as well as cool new weapons, spells, Ashes of War, Spirit Ashes, talismans, and more to play around with and use to find even more novel ways to tackle its memorably brutal battles. Add on some very interesting lore revelations, not to mention the same spectacular visual design and stellar music that accompanies its larger-than-life bosses, and you’ve got what is certainly one of the best DLC expansions I’ve ever played."

Helldivers 2 for $27.99

This chaotic multiplayer gem is playable on Steam Deck and only $27.99 on Fanatical, or $31.99 on Steam.

In the Helldivers 2 review, Will Borger said, "Helldivers 2 is the rare modern multiplayer game that does almost everything right. It gives you a ton of freedom, feels fantastic to play, and has a smart progression system that doesn’t nickel and dime you or rely too much on a paid battle pass. It manages to keep its missions fresh by introducing a ton of enemies, modifiers, and objectives, and varying them in interesting ways."

"There are some matchmaking and performance issues that still need to be worked out, and you can only go so far by yourself or with random players – but if you’ve got a solid squad, it’s an incredible time, and certainly one of the most fun multiplayer shooters I’ve played in years. When I’m not Helldiving, I’m thinking about Helldiving, counting down the time until my next drop. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to pour myself a nice, hot cup of Liber-tea and get back at it. Those bugs and robots look like they could use some freedom, and Managed Democracy isn’t going to spread itself. For Super Earth!"

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero for $61.59

This Steam Deck playable return-to-form for arena fighters is $61.59 on Fanatical, as opposed to $69.99 on Steam.

In our review of Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, Jarrett Green said, "Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is a final flash from the past, sometimes to a fault, as demonstrated by its archaic menus and remedial training tools. Its Episode Battles have the kind of reaction-heavy difficulty that doesn’t really exist in most games these days, more than once crossing the line between challenging and frustrating."

"But the feeling of traveling back to a simpler time when games didn’t have to be balanced or competitive to be fun is a good one, especially when that action stays so true to that of the show it’s recreating. Reliving a story that was foundational to my youth, looking and sounding as great as I remember it, with the opportunity to alter it in sometimes dramatic new ways is clever, and the addition of tools to attempt to create our own stories could elevate the experiment even further if a community can figure out how to make the most of them."

Silent Hill 2 Remake for $41.99

Silent Hill 2 got a beloved remake this year, and it's already available for $41.99 on Fanatical, but still $55.99 on Steam. Silent Hill 2 was also nominated for several awards at The Game Awards, including Best Narrative, Best Action/Adventure game, and more.

In our review of Silent 2, Tristan Ogilvie said, "Silent Hill 2 is a welcome modernisation of a survival horror masterpiece. It smoothly polishes down the rough edges of the original game’s combat while taking a piece of heavy grit sandpaper to scuff up every rust and mold-covered surface of its nightmarish environments, successfully making them appear far more abrasive and menacing to explore."

"Previously primitive boss battles have been transformed into substantially more intense encounters, and its intimidating audio design kept me acutely aware that every fog-cloaked street I walked down could quickly hurry me towards my own dead end. It does feel a little padded out in parts, and I do wish that Bloober Team had streamlined some of its more convoluted puzzle sections to prevent the story’s momentum from sagging on occasion. Still, intermittent pacing problems aside, Silent Hill 2 is a great way to visit – or revisit – one of the most dread-inducing destinations in the history of survival horror."

God Of War for $17.99

This Steam Deck-verified RPG made quite the splash when it was revealed. It's been a while, but you can get it for $17.99 on Fanatical and $19.99 on Steam.

In our review of God of War, Jonathon Dornbush said, "I expected great action from God of War, and it delivers that handily. But I didn’t expect it to be a thrilling journey in which every aspect of it complements the others to form what is nothing short of a masterpiece."

"It’s a game in which Kratos, a previously one-note character, becomes a complex father, warrior, and monster, embattled both on the field and within his own heart about how to treat his son; one in which the world opens up and shifts, offering rewards in both gameplay and knowledge of its lore that I treasured with each accomplishment. The obvious care that went into crafting its world, characters, and gameplay delivers by far the most stirring and memorable game in the series.

Ghost of Tsushima - Director's Cut for $41.99

Jin Sakai's journey to reclaim Tsushima comes with some extras in the Director's Cut, which was originally a PS5 exclusive. Right now, you can grab a PC Steam key on Fanatical for $41.99, even though it's $47.99 on Steam.

In our Ghost of Tsushima review, Mitchell Saltzman said, "Ghost of Tsushima is an enormous and densely packed samurai adventure that often left me completely awestruck with both its visual spectacle and excellent combat. By steadily introducing new abilities instead of stat upgrades, its swordplay manages to stay challenging, rewarding, and fun throughout the entire 40 to 50 hours that it took me to beat the campaign."

"A few aspects are surprisingly lacking in polish in comparison to other first-party Sony games, especially when it comes to enemy AI and the stealth part of its stealth/action split. Still this is an extraordinary open-world action-adventure game that solves several issues that have long gone unaddressed in the genre, while also just being an all around samurai slashin’ good time."

Persona 5 Royal for $20.99

This game helped put Persona on the mainstream map and it's just $20.99 on Fanatical or $23.99 on Steam.

In our Persona 5 Royal review, Leana Hafer said, "Persona 5 was already a strong front-runner for being the best JRPG ever made, and Royal really gets me wondering what else could even compete. The excellent story and its lovable, multidimensional characters along with the challenging, tactical combat are all refined and back for another round with new surprises and new friends in tow."

"There are new areas to explore and new twists to leave your jaw on the floor. Very little has been left untouched, and just about everything that has been touched is better off for it. The Phantom Thieves have stolen my heart all over again, and I don’t really want it back."

Best Buy Has the Best Gaming Laptop Deal of Cyber Monday, But It's Ending Very Soon

Par : Eric Song
3 décembre 2024 à 03:20

The best gaming laptop deal to come out of the Best Buy Cyber Monday Sale is only available for a few more hours. Best Buy is offering this HP Victus 16" RTX 4070 gaming laptop for only $879.99. This is $50 less than the Black Friday deal and one of the least expensive (if not the least expensive) RTX 4070 gaming laptops for all of Cyber Monday.

HP Victus 16" RTX 4070 Gaming Laptop

The Victus is HP's lineup of budget-oriented gaming laptops. They have great internal components for gaming, but there's more plastic in the chassis to keep the price down. This model features a 16" 1080p display, a low-voltage AMD Ryzen 8 8845HS CPU, GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. The RTX 4070 has a maximum TGP rating of 105W (120W with dynamic boost), which is actually quite impressive for such an affordable gaming laptop. The best RTX 4070 equipped gaming laptops have a TGP of 115W and the RTX 4070 rarely goes over 100W during gaming, so expect this laptop to perform well. Since the display has a 1080p resolution, you should be able to run any game smoothly.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Episodes 1 and 2 Review

Par : jon Burgess
3 décembre 2024 à 03:00

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew premieres with its first two episodes on Disney+ on December 2, 2024. New episodes stream weekly on Tuesdays through January 14, 2025.

There’s a familiarity to Star Wars: Skeleton Crew that you can feel in your bones. Disney+’s latest spinoff series is playing with a pointedly familiar premise, but it finds something compelling to do with the fact that unless you’re the same age as its young cast you’ve probably seen something very much like this kids-vs-pirates adventure before. It could all very easily verge into obnoxiousness, but it gracefully manages to avoid that in the first two (of eight) episodes thanks to the way it hints at something under the surface.

That familiar feeling comes from a nostalgic vibe that Skeleton Crew proudly wears on its sleeve: The plot follows a group of kids, each with at least one easily identifiable defining personality trait, who strike out in search of excitement and eventually find themselves aboard a pirate ship while on the run from bloodthirsty criminals. Yes, it’s all explicitly inspired by The Goonies, but also any number of kid-friendly (or at least kid-starring) adventures like E.T. or Stranger Things–though an opening scene of pirate brutality makes it clear that this show isn’t exclusively for the littlest Star Wars fans in the family.

The plucky kids of Skeleton Crew live on the off-putting and vaguely ominous suburban sprawl of a planet called At Attin, where parents work late and leave their kids home alone after school, where the cool kids race bikes and where everyone has a yard, a lawnmower, and a two-car garage. You get the sense that there’s a Space Target just down the road and that the adults are concerned about their New Republic property taxes (we’re in the same post-Imperial, pre-The Force Awakens time period as The Mandalorian).

So far, the kids are all likeable–which is not always a given in the Star Wars cannon.

Or you would, if there were anyone old enough to be scruffy-looking on At Attin. That’s one of the first things that suggests that there’s something interesting (and perhaps genuinely smart) happening here: Other than the parents of main kid Wim (Ravi Cabot-Conyers) and his Milhouse-coded best friend Neel (a Max Reebo-style elephant boy played by Robert Timothy Smith), these kids hardly ever seem to encounter any adults. Their bus driver is a droid, their teacher is a droid, the security guards watching the school are droids, and the only grown-up at school is a woman who gives the kids a primer on the joy of contributing to the “Great Work” of At Attin with boring, bureaucratic government jobs. Jude Law, Skeleton Crew’s main adult cast member, makes only the briefest of appearances in the premiere episodes.

There are a lot of questions surrounding a strange hatch (perhaps a not-so-subtle nod to the TV work of Star Wars’ own J.J. Abrams?) but it takes some assistance from two more At Attin kids to get going on that: Fern (Ryan Kiera Armstrong) who has a Bad Attitude but is very smart and good at school, and her friend KB (Kyriana Kratter), who has a tech-y headset and can do computer stuff. The kids are all pretty broad in terms of characterization and performance, but that’s not automatically an issue. Real kids aren’t fully developed humans yet, and so it makes sense that these particular adolescents don’t know who they are and are probably going to learn about that over the course of this adventure (again, even if it is easy to sum them up by one character trait, just like Mouth, Chunk, and the other Goonies). So far, they’re all likeable–which is not always a given in the Star Wars cannon.

Luckily, there’s also plot momentum to focus on in these first two episodes, with the kids (literally) stumbling into adventure and accidentally rocketing out of their otherwise peaceful and uneventful patch of the suburbs and up into space in a pirate ship. In what could be Skeleton Crew’s cleverest hook, though, they don’t leave that new Star Wars setting they spent so much time developing entirely behind; The deceptively boring suburban planet of At Attin is apparently home to some weird mysteries.

It’s all fun, if a little barebones (skeleton pun intended) but how fun it will be over the course of the season – and if it earns another one, unlike The Acolyte and The Book of Boba Fett – is going to depend entirely on whether or not Skeleton Crew can maintain a good balance between the space adventure and the kids having opportunities to act like actual kids. If the action is too intense, it loses the breezy, family-friendly appeal of a show primarily about kids; if the kids are too childlike and annoying, then it becomes a show about a robot babysitter—and that sounds lousy.

Speaking of the robot babysitter, the ship that the kids accidentally hijack has a single crew member: A broken-down pirate droid named SM-33 who is voiced by Nick Frost and hits a slightly discordant comedic note. Now, Skeleton Crew already has an endearingly groany sense of humor about piracy, with every glimpse into the universe of Star Wars’ space pirates being stuffed with more cartoonish imagery than the average miniature golf course: everybody has a hook hand, or a peg leg, or a yarrrr accent, or a helmet that looks like a tricorne sailor hat (we haven’t properly met the pirate villains yet, but at least one of the buccaneers was even part of Gorian Shard’s pirate crew in The Mandalorian’s third season). After all of that, it’s literally naming a character after a famous Disney pirate that’s too cute by a parsec.

If there’s one notable issue in these early episodes beyond that groan, it’s that everything outside of the practical set of the kids’ spaceship feels very “filmed on The Volume”—the virtual set technology used on The Mandalorian and other Star Wars shows. The problem with The Volume is that it looks nice, and it encourages more interesting, all-digital sets than what you would’ve seen in The Phantom Menace, but it always feels hollow and empty. Just big, vacant expanses of Star Wars that lack the gritty, lived-in feel of the original trilogy it’s emulating. And while there’s no reason to doubt we’ll have some flashy space action at some point, there’s not much to speak of thus far.

Sadly, the newer releases like the Titan Evo Nanogen Edition chair and the recliner add-on are exempt from this sale.

If you're looking to upgrade your chair, there's no better time than Cyber Monday. Secretlab sale events only come around a handful of times per year, and the Cyber Monday sale is usually the best one of them all.

It's no secret that we love our Secretlab gaming chairs. Two of the six chairs in our best gaming chair roundup are Secretlab models. Of all the gaming chairs we covered in our "Budget to Best" roundup video earlier this year, my colleague Akeem Lawanson considered the Secretlab Titan Evo to be the most comfortable. No good chair comes cheap and Secretlab chairs definitely cost a premium, but we think the craftsmanship, materials, and customizability are worth it.

TL;DR - The 7 Best Secretlab Deals

You can quickly browse through all of the listed products on sale above. For more information on each product and why they are worth your consideration, read through below.

Secretlab Titan Evo

The Titan Evo starts at $519 during the sale. This is Secretlab's flagship chair and it's available in small, medium, and large sizes. Upholstery options include Neo Hybrid leatherette, SoftWeave Plus fabric, or premium Napa leather. The chair features cold-cure foam upholstery for the seat, a supportive four-way lumbar system, full length backrest with 165 degrees of recline, full metal 4D armrests with magnetically attached PU cushions, and a memory foam headrest pillow.

Aside from the build quality, the Titan Evo also stands out thanks to the sheer number of officially licensed designs from popular video games, TV shows, and more. Some of the more popular examples include The Witcher, Overwatch, Attack on Titan, League of Legends, World of Warcraft, and Game of Thrones. They generally cost more than the standard colors, but they're worth it if you're looking for that extra personal touch.

In our Secretlab Titan Evo review, Chris Coke wrote that "after two years of daily use, the Secretlab Titan Evo has proven that it can stand the test of time and still be one of the best gaming chairs you can buy. Meaningful ergonomics paired with Secretlab’s wide selection of designs, it remains a fantastic option, especially for fans of bright colors or designs."

Secretlab Titan 2020

The prior model Titan 2020 gaming chair is available for $474, which is $45 less than the base model Titan Evo. The Titan 2020 is still an excellent chair and not much different than the current Evo model. In fact, outside of an upholstery change (the PU leather has been updated with Neo Hybrid Leatherette), the changes are mostly cosmetic. You are limited to fewer design options, so if you want to build out something that's truly unique, you might want to splurge a bit extra for the current generation Titan Evo model.

Secretlab Titan Evo Lite

Among the Titan chairs, the Evo Lite is definitely the best value with its starting price tag of $419, or a full $100 less than the base model Titan Evo. It's built upon the same frame as the Titan Evo and has the same core features like the cold-cure foam cushioning, lumbar, 165 degrees of recline, and 4D armrests. What it compromises on is customization, with "only" two upholstery options, two sizes, and five colors, a non-adjustable lumbar system, simpler arm rests, and no included head rest. If none of these tradeoffs bother you, then you'll be saving quite a bit of money.

Secretlab Titan Evo Nanogen Edition

Although the Titan Evo Nanogen Edition isn't on sale, it deserves mention simply because this is our top pick for the best gaming chair. In our Titan Evo Nanogen Edition review, Chris Coke wrote that "the Secretlab Titan Evo Nanogen Edition deserves every bit of the overwhelming praise I’ve given. Granted, at $799 it’s significantly more expensive than the original and not far off from an entry-level Herman-Miller. But the return it offers in comfortable, supportive gaming is well worth the extra cost thanks to dramatically improved materials in both the fabric and multi-layered padding. The Titan Evo Nanogen Edition is class-leading, and is hands-down the most comfortable gaming chair I’ve ever used."

Secretlab Titan Recliner Add-On

Secretlab also announced a new recliner add-on to anyone who already owns the Titan Evo chair. It's so new that not only will this recliner ship out sometime next year, it's not even available for preorder yet. We have received a unit for testing, however, and it has turned out to be a very practical addition.

In our recliner add-on review, Chris Coke wrote that "while both comfort and value are subjective things, the recliner is able to take the Titan Evo and transform it from one of the best racing style gaming chairs to standing head and shoulders above the competition at its price point. It’s novel enough that I wouldn’t be surprised to see other brands following suit in the near future. If you don’t mind paying for it, it’s an absolutely killer upgrade for your gaming chair."

Secretlab Magnus and Magnus Pro

The Magnus and Magnus Pro are also on sale during Cyber Monday. The Magnus is a traditional fixed-frame gaming desk while the Magnus Pro ups the ante with a custom designed electric standing desk frame for an additional $250. Both desks feature an all-metal desktop surface, solid steel legs and cleverly thought out areas for cable management, but the Magnus Pro has some really unique features including a power cable that runs internally inside one of the telescoping legs and an in-line control panel that you won't bump into.

In our Secretlab Magnus Pro review. Mark Knapp writes that "the Secretlab Magnus Pro is a fantastic desk, bringing the brilliant cable management solutions of the original Magnus to a fast, quiet, and wide-ranging motorized standing desk. The desk is built well and proves an excellent platform for work and play alike. It’s an expensive desk though, and for the money, it would have been nice to see a smarter safety mechanism for the motors and the desk mat included. Still, the overall quality you get is a big step up from cheaper standing desks, and the optional accessories truly enhance the experience. Anyone who’s not committed to a standing desk should save their money and go for the standard Magnus if everything else about this model sounds good, but for gamers who love a tidy desk and want the flexibility of a standing desk, the Magnus Pro should be the first they consider."

Grab the Azul Board Game Today for Just $13 on Amazon for Cyber Monday

Par : Katie Reul
3 décembre 2024 à 02:27

Keep the good times rolling and the tiles flowing with Azul, the abstract strategy board game that quickly became a staple for family board game nights. Azul is a favorite of IGN's, but did you know it also made our list of the 10 most popular Amazon Cyber Monday deals our audience is loving today?

The game has a list price of $39.99 on Amazon, but the retailer is offering a 50% discount for Cyber Monday. Plus those who buy now can stack on a $6.66 off coupon, meaning you're only paying $13 and some change for this instant classic. With over $26 saved, it's the best deal we've found on this game across all retailers.

Get Azul Now for $13.33 (MSRP $39.99)

Azul is inspired by "azulejos," a term that refers to the traditionally blue-and-white ceramic tiles that decorated Portuguese and Spanish architecture as far back as the 13th century. These colorful tiles were inspired by "zellige," which were similar mosaic tiles originating in Morocco. King Manuel I of Portugal was inspired by the dazzling array of Islamic tilework that adorned the Alhambra palace, and he swiftly followed suit by decorating his own palace in a similar manner. Hundreds of years later, azulejos remain an integral part of Portuguese architecture, lining churches, restaurants, and even the subway system.

The board game is rooted in this historic tale, as players are tasked with the challenge of embellishing the walls of the Royal Palace of Évora. The goal of the game is fairly straightforward — fill your playboard with tiles to score points, and win by having the most points at the end of the game.

The game begins with players receiving a play board along with a unique grid of patterned tiles. A variable amount of circular boards are then placed in the center of the table (depending on the amount of players you have), which the game refers to as "factories." Players take turns snagging all tiles of one color from a factory in the hopes of filling up a full row on their play boards. The tiles that remain are discarded into the center of the table, which players can also grab from if they see tiles of a specific color that they need.

Once all the tiles have been taken, players see how many of the rows on their playboard are full, and are allowed to take one tile from it and transfer it to the same row on their unique grid. Points are scored depending on how well you do so — additional points are earned for achieving specific patterns, and points are deducted for wasted tiles. Final scores are tallied once one player has completed a whole row of tiles on their grid, which is a lot harder than it sounds.

With a total playtime of around 30-45 minutes, it's a great game that's relatively fast-paced and ends up using a whole lot of strategy. Every time a player picks up tiles of a certain color, they're limiting the supplies available to all other players, which makes things start to get messy. Or, maybe you discard a bunch of tiles into the center of the table, making it so there's now too many of a specific color for a player to fit on their own board (which can only fit a maximum of five of one color).

It sounds far more complicated than it is, but believe us that this game becomes second nature after a couple rounds. It's intended for 2-4 players, and it made IGN's list for family board games and one of the best board games to play with three people. Azul scored an 8 among our review team, who revered this game for its quality pieces, beautiful design and well-balanced gameplay.

Grab Azul now for holiday game nights at what will likely be the lowest price you'll see this year. Or, purchase it as a gift for a friend whose a fellow board game enthusiast. Either way, you won't want to skip this board game deal.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Is Still $30 at Walmart Right Now

Par : Noah Hunter
3 décembre 2024 à 01:21

It's official, Nintendo has had a great Black Friday/Cyber Monday this year. Tears of the Kingdom is the only Nintendo Switch game released by Nintendo to retail for $69.99, but it's gotten a fantastic discount this year. After being out of stock, it's back on sale to just $30 at Walmart. This is the lowest we've seen the game yet – physical copies are long gone, but stock of the digital edition is still holding strong.

This is one of our favorite gaming deals of this holiday shopping event, and it's one of the last few remaining, along with Sonic X Generations, Star Wars Outlaws, Metaphor ReFantazio, Persona 3 Reload, and Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1. In the event that Walmart sells out before Cyber Monday ends, Target and Best Buy also have digital editions going for $49.99. Obviously the deal isn't as good, but it's still $20 cheaper than usual.

If you somehow weren't already aware, this is one of the best games on Nintendo Switch of all time. The sequel to Breath of the Wild brings new areas to explore in the clouds and depths below the surface, offering what feels like a brand-new take on Hyrule.

It begins one year after Breath of the Wild. One day, while exploring under Hyrule Castle, Princess Zelda and Link discover a mummy that comes alive, shattering the Master Sword and wounding Link. When he awakens, Link finds himself on the Great Sky Island, one of the many floating islands in the sky. Here, the many mysteries of the ancient Zonai tribe are revealed.

More Black Friday Switch Game Deals We've Found So Far

There's still some time left to take advantage of Cyber Monday gaming deals before they expire. To see some more of our favorite available deals that are still live, have a look at our breakdown of the best Cyber Monday deals of 2024. Dont sleep on these: Deals this good won't come around until at least next Prime Day, and even more likely next Black Friday.
