Magic: The Gathering's New Final Fantasy 7 Game Edition Commander Decks Are Finally Back in Stock

17 novembre 2025 à 13:13

Amazon has finally restocked preorders for Magic: The Gathering's Final Fantasy 7 Game Edition Commander Deck. It's just in time, with the deck and several other new Final Fantasy MTG products set to release in just a couple of weeks on December 5.

Costing $99.99, the new version of the "Limit Break" Commander Deck offers the same 100-card deck you can find already, but with a download code for the original Final Fantasy 7 on PC, and a new promo card featuring the iconic shot of Cloud in FF7.

The new lineup has been incredibly hard to come by since it was revealed, and preorders sold out within a day. Amazon stocking up with a whole new allocation is great news for fans, and you no longer need to pay inflated prices to third-party sellers.

It's not just a collectible item either; the commander deck itself is absolutely fantastic, and actually dovetails nicely with Fallout’s Scrappy Survivors precon from last year (as long as you're happy with yet another bold RPG crossover).

Limit Break is all about getting your creatures to 7 power to trigger additional effects from Cloud or Tifa, while minimizing equip costs to allow you to switch gear and keep opponents guessing.

Reprint value is decent, too. Not only do you get Darksteel Plate, Sword of the Animist, and Fire-Lit Thicket, but Clever Concealment has some amazing new art of Cloud’s disguise.

Thanks to its Final Fantasy synergies, Stoneforge Mystic has been shooting up in both popularity and price.

This two-mana staple slots perfectly into the equipment-heavy Limit Break deck, tutoring out gear with ease, and the market has noticed, it’s jumped from under $20 to around $50 in recent listings.

That’s some serious stonks, and it could end up being a smart long-term pickup.

Check out the full MTG release schedule for this year to see what expansions are coming next, including Avatar: The Last Airbender. And for more Final Fantasy, consider picking up the 1-6 Pixel Remaster Collection at its lowest price yet in the early Black Friday sales.

Final Fantasy MTG: Best Chase Cards

The set is the most popular in Magic’s long history, and has led to prices skyrocketing for collector’s items like the Travelling Chocobo range and characters like Sephiroth.

Whether you're opening boosters, sorting through prerelease pulls, or keeping tabs on the market for trade value, it's clear this set is drawing serious attention.

If you're curious which cards are in highest demand right now, either to cash in or just to see what the hype is all about, here's a few handy pointers on what to look out for.

Colossal Order has announced that it will no longer be working on Cities: Skylines 2. Instead, Iceflake Studios will be handling its post-launch support (and development). U.S. Congressman Blasts Call of Duty: Black Ops 7's Alleged AI Images: 'We Need Regulations That Prevent Companies from using AI to Eliminate Jobs'

17 novembre 2025 à 12:48

A member of U.S. Congress has now called out Activision Blizzard's use of generative AI in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and demanded tighter regulation to "prevent companies from using AI to eliminate jobs."

It's not been the smoothest start for Activision's blockbuster shooter franchise. When Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launched last week, players promptly took to social media to complain about AI-generated images they had found across the game, primarily focusing on calling card images with a Studio Ghibli-esque styling, following a trend of AI-Ghibli images from earlier this year.

Now, in a post on X/Twitter, Californian congressman has Ro Khanna slammed the developer's move to AI to "extract greater profits," writing: "We need regulations that prevent companies from using AI to eliminate jobs to extract greater profits. Artists at these companies need to have a say in how AI is deployed. They should share in the profits. And there should be a tax on mass displacement."

In a follow-up tweet, Khanna added that there should be tax reforms to discourage excessive automation, guardrails should be put in place to protect worker input before deployment — "not a Luddite complete ban" — adding "support unions and workers to bargain for workers' benefitting from productivity gains."

When a commenter suggested that curbing AI investment could stifle innovation, Khanna said: "Innovation and technological advance is patriotic and good for humanity provided it serves people. So we need to think about how it is adopted and how people can still have meaningful work and independence.

"A tax code that doesn't incentivize excessive automation, working input councils so AI is used for augmentation, rules so workers share in AI productivity gains, a plan to hire young grads who may less entry level jobs or to hire displaced workers, a tax on mass displacement and guardrails against them — all these a provisions to ensure a technology revolution benefits ordinary Americans."

Last week, Activision acknowledged its used of "a variety of digital tools, including AI tools," in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, "to empower and support our teams to create the best gaming experiences possible for our players. Our creative process continues to be led by the talented individuals in our studios."

Of course, this isn't the first time Call of Duty has come under fire for AI usage. This exact scenario played out back in February, when Activision admitted that it had used generative AI in the development of Black Ops 6, including in a zombie Santa loading screen that angry fans referred to as "AI slop."

AI isn't the only thing bothering Call of Duty fans, either. Last last week, players realized the story campaign has numerous restrictions tied to its always-online nature, with no method of pausing levels. You'll also be booted from your game if you're idle for too long.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is out now. We've given the campaign a try and awarded it an 'Okay' 6/10, with our reviewer saying it's " a wild one thanks to the scope of its ambition, but the big swings it takes don't always land, leaving it an uneven step down from last year."

Marvel Announces Josh Gad is Joining The MCU As... Josh Gad

17 novembre 2025 à 12:32

Beauty and the Beast and Frozen star Josh Gad will officially become part of the MCU in upcoming Disney+ series Wonder Man, where the actor will portray a fictionalized version of himself.

The casting has been revealed in the latest issue of Disney's D23 Magazine (via The Direct), where Gad's role is described as "an extremely famous version of himself" who rubs shoulders with celebrities within the MCU's version of Hollywood.

The report also states that Gad will demonstrate his singing abilities. Will we also get confirmation that Frozen's Olaf exists in the MCU? Perhaps.

Created by Shangi-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton and starring Yahya Abudu Mateen II (previously seen as Black Manta in DC's Aquaman films), the upcoming Marvel show is designed as a superhero comedy set in the entertainment industry, amid the shooting of a new movie based on the series' eponymous superhero.

The series will also see the return of Sir Ben Kingsley's fan-favorite failed actor Trevor Slattery, first seen all the way back in Iron Man 3, and Agent P. Cleary, played by Succession actor Arian Moayed, who previously popped up in Spider-Man: No Way Home as an agent of the United States Deparment of Damage Control.

Marvel has kept relatively quiet about the offbeat series since its filming began in early 2023. After delays caused by that year's SAG-AFTRA strike, the show finally wrapped shooting in April 2024 and has since been sat awaiting release.

As of now, Disney is set to drop all eight episodes of Wonder Man simultaneously via Disney+ on January 27, 2026, kicking off a big year for Marvel. The second season of Daredevil: Born Again will launch on March 4, with WandaVision sequel VisionQuest set to debut later in the year. On the big screen, Spider-Man: Brand New Day launches July 31, before Avengers: Doomsday arrives on December 18.

PlayStation's DualSense Edge Controller Has Dropped to Just $160 Ahead of Black Friday

17 novembre 2025 à 12:20

Sony's premium PlayStation 5 DualSense Edge wireless controller has fallen to its lowest price yet, and it's landed just in time for the early Black Friday deals rush.

Amazon has the standard white model going for $159.99 with free delivery, which is a $40 instant drop and a full $15 cheaper than the previous best-ever price from earlier this month.

DualSense Edge Controller is $40 off in Early Black Friday Sales

If you prefer the Midnight Black version, that one is still holding at $174.99 as well, but the white model is the more obvious pick this week if you're looking for the best price possible.

I predicted we'd see a discount on these professional-grade gamepads for PlayStation's Black Friday sale this year, but I'm also genuinely surprised the deal is so good. $40 off is no joke for such a good controller.

DualSense Edge sits at the top of Sony's controller lineup, and it earns the spot as the best PS5 controller going. This is a full step up compared to the regular DualSense, which is already a wonderful controller, built for players who want tighter control, adjustable inputs, and hardware that can actually grow with them rather than give up the moment a stick starts drifting.

You get modular analog stick units that can be replaced for $19.99 a piece, so you are not junking a $200 controller over a single failing part. You also get swappable stick caps, mappable rear paddles, custom profiles, and a grip texture that feels noticeably more grounded than the stock DualSense.

The triggers are another highlight. Each one has a hardware slider next to it that lets you choose between standard, medium, or short travel. If you are playing shooters, fighting games, or anything where half a second of trigger pull feels like you are moving underwater, these adjustments make a real difference. Sony also bundles a hard shell case and a long USB-C cable, so it feels like a complete kit instead of barebones packaging.

If you like the feel of the regular DualSense but want something built for real tuning and long-term performance, the DualSense Edge finally sits at a price that makes sense. At $159.99, it is the strongest early Black Friday controller deal Sony has offered all year, and realistically, you are not likely to see it drop lower any time soon.

Should You Wait for Black Friday?

If you prefer the Midnight Black edition of the DualSense Edge controller, I'd say it could be worth waiting to see if it'll drop any further, or even match the $160 pricing for the standard white version.

Otherwise, I think this is the best price we're getting on the DualSense Edge controller, and absolutely worth picking up in the run up to the 2025 Black Friday sales. At this price, I can see this selling out before then anyway.

The only other reason to wait, in my opinion at least, is if you're happy to wait and see if Amazon drops its legendary Amazon Resale discounts again for Black Friday. If you're cool with an open box "Used - Like New" controller, the DualSense Edge could drop to around $125 instead. That's a big if, though, as there's no gurantee we'll be seeing those kind of discounts again for the rest of year.

Early Black Friday 2025 Deals

Black Friday discounts are already starting to roll in, and we'll see a whole host of sales go officially live in the next few days across retailers like Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, and more.

Big new deals include $50 off the Meta Quest 3S at Amazon, now $249, or just $329 for the 256GB version with Batman Arkham Shadow included.

Final Fantasy's I-VI Collection is also at its lowest price yet ahead of Black Friday, $39.99 and $35 off its $74.99 list price. That's for both Switch, and PlayStation.

While Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Acknowledges Deliberate AI Use, Ubisoft Pledges to Remove AI Image That 'Slipped Through' To Anno 117's Final Version

17 novembre 2025 à 11:55

Assassin's Creed publisher Ubisoft has said it will act swiftly to remove an image found within Anno 117: Pax Romana that contains AI-generated elements, which it says was not designed to be included in the game's final version.

Fans of the city-building Anno franchise quickly spotted a loading screen featured in the series' latest entry that was not of the same quality seen in others, with some telltale signs of AI generation: missing limbs, low-quality features and oddly composited elements.

As posted on reddit, and first reported by Kotaku, the game's Steam listing also features a warning that "AI tools were used tp help create some in-game assets." In a statement to IGN, Ubisoft noted that the image had been a "placeholder" and provided a final, human-made version of the artwork it had meant to include instead.

"This image was a placeholder asset that unintentionally slipped through our review process," a Ubisoft spokesperson said. "The final image is attached here and will replace the current version of this artwork with the upcoming 1.3 patch.

"With Anno 117: Pax Romana being our most ambitious Anno yet, we've assembled the largest team of artists ever for the franchise and to help meet the project's unique scope, they use AI tools for iterations, prototyping, and exploration. Every element players will experience in the final game reflects the team's craft, artistry, and creative vision."

Still, the final version of the image simply looks to have been retouched to clean up the original image's more wonky elements — suggesting that anything else AI-generated which did look passable will remain.

Regardless, Ubisoft's response differs from that of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 publisher Activision, which hit the headlines last week by simply acknowledging the widespread use of AI-generated imagery in its latest blockbuster shooter — particularly in its Studio Ghilbi-inspired calling cards. In a statement, Activision said its AI use was designed to "empower and support our teams to create the best gaming experiences possible for our players."

Activision previously acknowledged the use of AI imagery in last year's Black Ops 6, too — though only after fans pointed out a particularly egregious example of a six-fingered zombie Santa.

Outside of its AI use, Ubisoft's Anno 117: Pax Romana has otherwise been warmly received. The game "is a gorgeous antique city-builder that sucked me in for dozens of hours," IGN wrote in our Anno 117: Pax Romana review, awarding the game a 9/10 score.

'Lawyers Are Most Likely Already Watching Everything We Do': Fans Attempting to Revive Doomed PlayStation Live-Service Game Concord Take Stock After 'Worrying Legal Action'

17 novembre 2025 à 11:45

Sony has issued takedown notices for videos showcasing a fan-led project that's bringing doomed PlayStation live-service game Concord back to life.

PlayStation's quickly-binned hero shooter Concord was one of the biggest flops in the compay's history. Amid disastrously low player numbers, Sony pulled the game offline just two weeks after launch, with one estimate suggesting it sold just 25,000 copies. It proved a costly failure for Sony, with hundreds of millions of dollars wasted. Its developer, Firewalk Studios, closed shortly thereafter.

Despite its brief life, or perhaps because of it, Concord remains of interest — with a dedicated group of players dedicating "months" of work to getting the game back online again, reverse-engineering the code and using private servers to host online matches of Clash Point. And now, it seems, Sony has taken notice.

"After a long time of reverse engineering [and] server development, we just managed to play a match of Concord!" the team announced on Discord (thanks, The Game Post). "The project is still WIP, it's playable, but buggy. Once our servers are fully set up, we'll begin doing some private playtesting, if anyone here wants to join those playtests, let me know (include what region/time zone you are in for convenience)."

While the volunteer developers admitted the build could be "buggy," the team managed to get the main menu, character select screen, and matchmaking working again, with one team member saying, "the project is still a [work in progress but] it's playable."

Around this time, volunteers began sharing videos and images of their project in action and posted them to YouTube. But news of the project gained traction, it also appears to have caught the eye of Sony, which has seemingly begun striking down the videos with copyright notices.

Fans behind the rebuilt game appear keen to make clear their attempt only provides server access to players who had legitimately bought the game, rather than anyone using or sharing "copyrighted files." In a message on the fan project's Discord: "I know this sucks for people who got forcefully refunded, but lawyers are most likely already watching everything we do and I want to ensure this project stays as legal as we realistically can do. We will be removing any posts containing links to copyrighted files."

Despite this, however, the group leaders have now paused invitations, stating they had received "worrying legal action."

In February 2022, Jim Ryan, then-PlayStation's boss, announced that the company would launch more than 10 new live-service games by March 2026, and spent big on studio buyouts as part of the drive, bringing in Destiny developer Bungie, Jade Raymond's Haven Studios (Raymond has since left the company), and the now-shuttered Firewalk Studios.

Since then, however, Sony has cancelled a slew of projects, including a live-service God of War title in development at Bluepoint, and another live-service title being made by Days Gone developer Bend. Firesprite also previously ditched a live-service Twisted Metal project, while Insomniac was known to have worked on a live-service co-op Spider-Man game titled The Great Web, and Naughty Dog's live-service The Last of Us multiplayer effort was also ditched after years of work. And then there was Concord.

Now, however, Sony has reflected on its progress in transforming PlayStation into a company that runs a suite of successful live-service games, and the company's chief financial officer, Lin Tao, acknowledged during Sony's latest financial results briefing that the plan was "not entirely going smoothly."
