FTL-like Void War was DMCAed by Games Workshop due to 'oversized convex shoulder pads with a metallic rim'
I've got mates who bounced off most full price games this year, not because they are bad, but because they ask for too much too soon. Time, patience, and a premium that assumes blind trust. My lists are the opposite of that. Below are the games that make sense now. They've (mostly) been patched, balanced, and priced into something honest. You know what they are, they know what they are, and the deal is finally fair on both sides. The only real maybe here is Alone in the Dark (but, hey, it's cheap).

In retro news, I’m using a firebrand sword’s blazing jab to light 14 candles on a cake baked for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, a promising action RPG that went the way of dodos and discos. It was a money thing. Combat had snap, spells landed with weight, and the Destiny system let you reshuffle builds without punishment. It felt flexible at a time when RPGs were still weirdly precious about commitment.
Reckoning reviewed well and found an audience, but not a big enough one to repay the ambitious EA Games loan behind it, and that reality shut down 38 Studios before sequels could turn promise into a proper series. That still stings. The recent remaster does not rewrite history, but it does preserve a game that deserved more time, more trust, and frankly, another swing.

Super Bowl LX is here and, alongside watching the (hopefully) epic battle between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots, one of the main reasons to tune in tonight is to see all the biggest and best commercials that own just as much of the spotlight.
We'll be gathering all the biggest commercials right here, and we'll be updating this page throughout the big game, so be sure to keep checking back! Oh, and if you're looking for the biggest trailers, we have a roundup for that as well!
Let us know who you are rooting for and which commercials won your heart!
Lays pulled at our heartstrings with their big game ad, as they focused on a father and daughter who grew up tending a farm. Now, on the eve of the father's retirement, we see how much their time together meant and how this wasn't really the end, but a beautiful new beginning.
State Farm kicked off this year's Super Bowl with a commercial featuring Danny McBride, Keegan-Michael Key, Hailee Steinfeld, KATSEYE, and even Jon Bon Jovi. Speaking of Bon Jovi, 'Livin' on a Prayer' is the star of this commercial that sees "Halfway There Insurance" showing how poor they are compared to State Farm.
Instacart enlisted the help of Ben Stiller and Benson Boone to share with the world that, with Instacart, you have the power to choose the color and ripeness of your bananas and so much more with Preference Picker.
Since there are so many living options on Apartments.com and Homes.com, Jeff Goldblum and Heidi Gardner thought their time would be much better spent telling you the places you can't live.
George Clooney stars in a Yorgos Lanthimos directed commercial for Grubhub that shouts to the world in a funny way that the food service will now "eat the fees" on both delivery and service fees on orders over $50.
The Office's Brian Baumgartner is back in... well.. the office! This time, he is with a ton of clones of himself and is even seen carrying a pot of chili, and we all know how that went last time. This was all for finance software company known as Ramp.
Lewis Pullman is having a tough time in Michelob Ultra's Super Bowl ad, as he is always the last one down the hill and forced to buy the drinks when hanging with Olympians Chloe Kim and TJ Oshie. Luckily, Kurt Russell is nearby to help train him and turn the tides.
In an effort to stop exploding heads from extreme energy drinks, Liquid Death Sparkling Energy is her with a Super Bowl ad to show you a better way to get some pep back in your step when you need it most.

To show it is holding strong, Claude created a commercial as a warning that ads are coming to AI. However, they will not be coming to Claude, so you won't be put in this weird situation when trying to find a personal trainer!

If you're in need of at-home printing but you don't want to deal with the upfront cost of buying a printer or the hassle of purchasing ink cartridges when they run out, then HP is offering a plan that might be perfect for you.
HP's All-In Plan is a convenient service that leases you a printer for a low monthly fee. Never run out of ink or printing supplies. You’re always ready to print with ink and optional paper delivery before you need it. There are several plans to choose from, with each offering a different printer and print allotment depending on your needs. The monthly print allotment is flexible, rolls over and can easily be updated on a monthly basis if needed.
The four recommended plan tiers are as follows:
The "High Volume" plan is marketed as the best value. It includes the HP Smart Tank 7602 all-in-one printer (retails for $470) and up to 100 pages of monthly printing. At $12.99 per month, it's not much more expensive than the "Basic" and "Versatile" plans. The one caveat is that it requires a three year commitment compared to two years for the other plans. Fortunately, HP offers a 30-day trial period during which you have the option to return your printer.
The big question is whether or not HP's All-In Plan is worth it in the first place. We can first break this out monetarily. The "High Volume" plan will run you $12.99 per month for 3 years, or a grand total of $467.64. As mentioned above, the printer you get retails for $469.99. That's about the same cost, but there are other factors to consider.
By buying the printer outright, you could probably find a discount. For example, it's currently on sale at Amazon for $349.99, saving you $120 right off the bat. Also, after 3 years, you'll still own the printer so that you can use it for many years after. If you subscribe to the plan, then you're out of a printer after 3 years unless you re-enroll.
However, by signing up for the plan, you avoid having to pay $400+ instantly, which is replaced by a more manageable monthly fee. You also essentially get three years of 24/7 live support and warranty service, as opposed to just one year if you bought the printer outright. You don't need to pay for ink during the life of the subscription. This is important because ink refills can get pricey very quickly to the point where it's often cheaper to just buy a new printer. You're also not stuck with the same printer forever. After the term ends, you can either choose to continue using your current printer or upgrade to a newer, current generation model.
All things considered, it really depends on your situation. If you can justify the upfront cost, you plan to keep the same printer for more than three years, and you feel comfortable enough sourcing your own ink, then just buy your own printer. If you'd rather stick with the convenience of letting HP worry about the printer along with its refills and maintenance, and you know that you can stay within the monthly printing allotment, then it's worth checking it out.

Super Bowl LX is here, and that means we’re about to see new movie trailers for some of the biggest films of 2026.
The Big Game presents one of the biggest moments for Hollywood of the year, as some of the industry’s most notable names gather to deliver show-stopping commercials. This year may be a bit different from others, though, as Deadline recently reported that Marvel may refrain from showing any additional footage from Avengers: Doomsday or Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Netflix, Apple, and Warner Bros. will also reportedly not have any movie trailers to show during the show.
There will be major no-shows, but there will still be plenty to look forward to. Star Wars fans are hoping Disney will bring a trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu to Super Bowl LX, with trailers for films like The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, Disclosure Day, and the Michael Jackson biopic also expected.
We’ll collect and break down every movie trailer from Super Bowl 2026 here, so be sure to keep refreshing this page for closer looks at some of the year’s biggest films. You can also click here to see our live list of all of the best commercials from this year's game.
It doesn’t sound like Warner Bros. will show up for a commercial during The Big Game itself, but that didn’t stop DC from debuting a sneak peek at Supergirl for the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet. The 47-second TV spot puts the spotlight on Kara Zor-El’s superpowered pup, Krypto, and what appears to be their final days on Krypton. In between shots of the canine companion, who made his DCU debut in 2025’s Superman, we get a glimpse at some of what will likely be the film’s many action scenes.
Supergirl premieres in theaters June 26, 2026.
Pixar’s Hoppers was one of the first movie trailers to show up for Super Bowl LX. The 30-second commercial reminds viewers of its person-turned-beaver storyline, while highlighting some of the other critters, such as snakes, birds, lizards, ants, turtles, and dancing frogs, that viewers can look forward to.
Hoppers is another creative universe from Disney and Pixar, and it comes to theaters March 6, 2026.
Scream 7 is just weeks away from taking viewers (and Neve Campbell’s Syndey Prescott) back to Woodsboro. The trailer, which actually arrived just a few days ahead of today's game, moves the focus from Sydney to her daughter, teasing a Ghostface who is out for blood like never before.
Paramount Pictures takes another stab at Scream February 27, 2026.
Disclosure Day is coming, and during Super Bowl LX, we got the next look at what that looks like. The second trailer for director Steven Spielberg’s UFO movie puts greater emphasis on the action without giving too much of its story away, as we see Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colman Domingo, and Colin Firth trapped in a world that’s about to come into contact with extraterrestrial life.
Catch your first look at a UFO in Disclosure Day before it descends into theaters June 12, 2026.
While mainline Star Wars movies take a bit of a break, The Mandalorian and Grogu is finally bringing everyone’s favorite pair to movie theaters in just a few months. Both of the film’s titular characters take centerstage for the teaser, which sees them using the force to trade off driving duties as they steer a group of tauntaun’s through the snow.
With gravelly voiceover from what sounds like A Star Is Born actor Sam Elliot, the trailer does a good job at feeling like a Star Wars car commercial. It’s a somewhat tongue-in-cheek look at The Mandalorian and Grogu ahead of its May 22, 2026, theatrical release date.
The Adventures of Cliff Booth, David Fincher’s unexpected follow-up to Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, made a surprise appearance at Super Bowl 2026. The trailer for the Netflix project featured a Brad Pitt with long hair and a moustache and a lot of censored scenes.
It’s a brief look at one of the most highly anticipated films that did little to spoil its story. For now, viewers have only been told that The Adventures of Cliff Booth is “coming soon.”
The first trailer for Minions & Monsters shows everyone's favorite little yellow menaces as they search the world for ghouls and ghosts. The two-minute video focuses on what appears to be a mini-Cthulhu, who joins the Minions as they encounter mummies, bunnies, and slimes.
“This is the rambunctious, ridiculous and totally true story of how the Minions conquered Hollywood, became movie stars, lost everything, unleashed monsters onto the world and then banded together to try and save the planet from the mayhem they had just created,” an official description says.
Minions & Monsters arrives in theaters July 1, 2026.

Universal Studios and Illumination may not have had too much more to share from The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, but the Mario Movie sequel still had a few seconds of footage to share with fans. The Big Game TV spot sees Yoshi and Toad rescue both Baby Mario and Baby Luigi from t-rex before telling fans to wait for its April 1, 2026, premiere. It’s a scene we’ve seen a glimpse of before, with today’s sneak peek adding a few new moments, including a shot of Mario drumming the Super Mario Bros. theme on the sleeping dinosaur’s teeth.
Amazon and Sony have published the final trailer for Phil Lord and Christopher Miller’s sci-fi epic, Project Hail Mary. Coming in at just under three minutes long, the full cut of the commercial sees Ryan Gosling’s Ryland Grace link up with Rocky, a small alien made of rocks who needs a little help communicating.
It's an emotional look at one of the year's biggest movies that's backed by Prince's I Would Die 4 U. The directing duo behind The Lego Movie will unleash their Project Hail Mary movie adaptation when it premieres March 20, 2026.

In our 8/10 review, we wrote, "The AMD Ryzen 9 9900X is an incredible processor, easily able to power through creative applications like Adobe Premiere and Photoshop. However, its gaming performance is a bit less impressive for the price, making it hard to recommend to dedicated PC gamers."
You can also score Silent Hill f for $39.99 this weekend. This game is one of the most unique in the series, mainly due to its story, which was written by Ryukushi07. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is one of the best games of all time. Konami's remake, dubbed Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, was released last year, and it successfully did its job in faithfully bringing the beloved game to new audiences. Introducing The Dark West, a hardcore action-RPG for PC set in a cursed frontier that got too greedy and paid the price. Occult skills and a poker-esque deck let you customize your build and blast through the black-magic-fueled foes of The Order and The Damned as you aim to be the last one standing.
Developer Black Hand aims to bring the community along with them at every step of development. “We made The Dark West because we love ARPGs and wanted to create the kind of game we have always wanted to play," the team said. "From the start, we've included the community in every step of development. Their feedback is shaping the combat, the story, and the world. This is a game made with players, not just for them.” Check out the announcement trailer above and the first screenshots in the gallery below.
Black Hand says that The Dark West will challenge "both your skill and sanity." It takes aim squarely at fans of Diablo and Path of Exile. There's no release date as of yet, but you can wishlist The Dark West on Steam if you're intererested.

It’s hard to believe, but we’re already in February, and that means Valentine’s Day is coming up soon. If you’re scrambling to find a nice gift to give to that special someone in your life this year, have no fear, we’re here to help you track down something that’s sure to make them smile.
These aren’t just the usual flowers and chocolates, either (although we have included links to some good traditional options, if your partner prefers that). In this list, we present a number of different ideas worth thinking about alongside those more classic picks, from sweet LEGO sets to puzzles, to co-op video games that you can enjoy together. It’s also worth noting that finding a good gift doesn’t mean dropping a ton of cash. There are plenty of different options here across a range of prices, so there’s a little something for everyone to enjoy.
The timer has started and there's not long left until the big day arrives, so now is your chance to add the gift idea that catches your eye to your cart so that it arrives in time.
Personally, I’m a very big LEGO fan, and the Botanicals collection is definitely worth checking out if you’re looking to give a creative spin on the usual flower bouquets this year. Whether you want classic roses or the colorful new tulip bouquet, there are so many different arrangements to choose from. Plus, these buildable bouquets don't require any watering or looking after, which is a huge bonus.
These aren’t the only sets worth looking at, though. If you'd like something that the two of you can work on together, many LEGO sets can be constructed with a partner using special co-operative instructions provided by the LEGO Builder app's Build Together mode. This is a great way to tackle a bigger set with each other's help, but even small sets can be divided in two to create a quick afternoon project. There's some great sets that utilize this mode, too. We've included just a few of our favorites below, but it's worth having a full look at all of the Build Together sets for adults that are available. There's some great LEGO gift ideas for Valentine's day in there.
Similar to the LEGO sets above, booting up a co-op game is another excellent way to spend time together. Whether you want to gather your party and venture forth in Baldur’s Gate 3 or be transported into the adventurous worlds of Split Fiction, there are plenty worth checking out. Some are even plucked from our list of the best co-op games, like It Takes Two, Portal 2, and Overcooked 2 (which you can get as part of the Overcooked: All You Can Eat collection).
If you've ticked all those classics off your list and need something brand new, then look no further than Tarsier Studios, the studio behind the first two Little Nightmares games. It's releasing its next game, Reanimal, on February 13, and it supports couch co-op play. If you and your player two are big horror fans looking for something spooky to play together, it seems well worth a look. And it'll arrive just in time for the big day!
Keeping with the co-operative theme here, puzzles are also a wonderful project to work on together. From complex 3D puzzles to standard 2D jigsaws, there's so many different options to consider, with each offering their own level of challenge. There's also a variety of different styles to choose from, so you can find one with a final image (or 3D form) that you'll each enjoy. Plus, who wouldn't want a Pokemon Pika puzzle?!
Speaking of Pokemon, don't forget to browse the always adorable plushies out there, sure to capture your bae's heart! This one is like a 3D valentine in itself:
If you don’t mind splashing out on something a bit more expensive, Apple products are certainly an exciting gift to give. Between the brand new AirPods Pro 3 and the sleek new Apple Watch Series 11 (which are both on sale, by the way), there’s plenty to check out. Even the 11th gen iPads are on sale right now for under $300. There's no better time to shop around than when great discounts are available.
For those wanting to go the more classic Valentine’s Day route, a lovely bouquet of flowers is always a sweet choice. Unlike the LEGO flowers, these require looking after, but they’re still a delightful surprise to receive on the day. There are plenty of stores to look through to find the right bouquet as well, from ProFlowers and 1-800 Flowers, to From You Flowers. Even Amazon and Walmart have dedicated pages for Valentine's Day floral arrangements that you can check out.
No matter the time of year, chocolate and candy are always a great gift idea, but that's especially true on Valentine's Day. Nothing beats a big heart-shaped box of sweet treats on the day, and there's a few different options you can shop for right now. Whether you want some classic chocolate truffles or a mixed bag of different goodies, we've got some options above that are well worth a look. Buy one, or buy them all. There's no judgement here.
