A Justice Department complaint filed Monday alleged program director Inwoo Kim, 42, and Lee, 56 — who also ran Happy Life Adult Day Care — conspired to defraud federal healthcare programs of $120 million by bribing patients to enroll in their social adult day cares.
The 2022 HHS report claimed almost half of $445 million in taxpayer money paid out in 2018 and 2019 in New York City was mismanaged, including included rides that were not properly documented, drivers who were not properly licensed, rides that weren’t pre-authorized and more.
