Hades 2 will stay in Early Access until at least early 2025

17 mai 2024 à 17:43

Hades 2 has got off to a fantastic start, amassing high praise from fans and critics upon the launch of the game's Early Access version. The game is not complete yet and Early Access projects can sometimes take years to reach their ‘final' state. Super Giant has now confirmed its plans for Hades 2, planning to remain in early access until early next year.

In an interview with PCGamer, Hades 2 Creative Director, Greg Kasavin, confirmed that the game will remain in early access “at least through the end of this year”. That is the long-term plan, but players will have plenty to look forward to in the short-term as well.

Kasavin explained that there will be a couple of “small patches to improve parts of the game” in the weeks ahead to polish up a few bugs and issues players have encountered. From there, they will focus on getting the game's first major update ready, which should be ready in a few months time.

Major updates in Hades 2 will contain new locations, enemies, features and other content, essentially expanding the game incrementally until the game is fully content complete. The original Hades was in early access for around two years but Hades 2 appears to be in a polished state already so hopefully that time will indeed be cut down for Hades 2. So far, that does seem to be the plan.

KitGuru Says: Have you picked up Hades 2 already? How are you finding it compared to the first one?

Creative Assembly is reportedly working on a Total War Star Wars game

17 mai 2024 à 16:00

Creative Assembly is doubling down on Total War once again. According to a new leak, the studio is now hard at work on three new Total War games, one of which is a Star Wars title.

Total War: Star Wars is apparently in development at Creative Assembly, according to DualShockers. The Star Wars project is said to be the second of three on-going projects at Creative Assembly, as of October 2023. The report appears to imply that the game is probably a couple of years away at least, so it could be a long time before we get real confirmation.

Star Wars games had their roots in the early days of PC gaming, with a few of them being strategy/RTS games. The most famous example is Empire At War and its expansion.

There is no doubt in my mind that a Total War Star Wars game would be fantastic, but it doesn't sound like Creative Assembly is going to be ready to talk about this anytime soon, if it even exists. There are many hoaxes around the summer game announcement season.

Valve gearing up to launch new multiplayer game ‘Deadlock’

17 mai 2024 à 15:15

Aside from Counter-Strike 2, we've known that Valve has been hard at work on another project over the past year. The game formerly known as Neon Prime is seemingly being play tested by hundreds of players, leading to leaked screenshots and other details.

The game previously codenamed Citadel, which then evolved into Neon Prime, is now officially going to be titled ‘Deadlock'. It is a 6v6 third-person MOBA with fantasy and steam punk inspirations. Maps in this game will be larger than your typical MOBA, there will also reportedly be some tower defence elements, according to Tyler McVicker, who describes the title as a mix between Valorant, Overwatch, Dota 2 and Team Fortress 2.

Since testers started sharing Deadlock screenshots all over the place, here's ones I can verify, featuring one of the heroes called Grey Talon. pic.twitter.com/KdZSRxObSz

— ‎Gabe Follower (@gabefollower) May 17, 2024

In the tweet above from Gabe Follower, a Twitter account that previously leaked accurate details in the lead-up to Counter-Strike 2's announcement last year, Deadlock screenshots can be seen, showcasing one of the game's major characters. Apparently, many Counter Strike developers are currently helping on Deadlock to get the game ready for launch.

Valve is expected to announce Deadlock imminently. It is unclear if the game will launch in Early Access, or if there will be some kind of beta program ahead of a full release.

KitGuru Says: It is always an exciting time when Valve is gearing up to release a game. I'm not sure this one will be for me but I'd certainly be up for giving it a go.

Call of Duty will be heading to Game Pass day-one this year

17 mai 2024 à 14:30

While Sarah Bond appeared to confirm this already in an interview earlier in the month, a new report has come out stating that Microsoft has finalised plans to bring Call of Duty to Game Pass this year.

A previous report had claimed that there had been debate within Microsoft about whether to bring Call of Duty to Game Pass on day one due to potential loss of sales revenue. However, in an interview with Bloomberg recently, Xbox exec, Sarah Bond, reaffirmed the company's commitment to Game Pass, and bringing first party games, like COD, to the service.

Now, The Wall Street Journal reports that Microsoft has made the decision to make Call of Duty a day-one Game Pass title this year. The new game is expected to be announced in June at the Xbox Games Showcase and it is believed that the secret ‘gameplay deep dive' stream scheduled immediately after the showcase will focus on the new Call of Duty.

This year we expect to see Treyarch return to the forefront with a new Black Ops game. As usual, Call of Duty should release between late October and early November, with beta tests taking place a month or so before.

KitGuru Says: With Call of Duty coming to Game Pass, I'll at least be checking out this year's game. I skipped Modern Warfare 3 due to the poor reception to the game's campaign, and the usual purchase price is simply too high for the multiplayer alone.

XDefiant gets PC system requirements ahead of next week’s launch

17 mai 2024 à 13:20

After numerous delays, Ubisoft's promising multiplayer shooter, XDefiant, is finally coming out in just a few days time. Ahead of the launch, Ubisoft has now revealed the PC system requirements, with recommended specs for playing the game at 1080p, 1440p and 4K.

At minimum to play the game, you will need a Core i3-10105F or Ryzen 3 3100 CPU, 8GB of memory and an Intel Arc A380, Nvidia GTX 1050Ti or AMD RX 5500 XT graphics card. However, the recommended requirements call for a slightly better GPU for playing at 1080p, calling for an Arc A750, GTX 1060 (6GB) or RX 5500 XT (8GB) graphics card. The recommended requirements also suggest having 16GB of RAM for optimal performance at 1080p.

The Enthusiast specs target 1440p:

  • CPU: Core i5-10400 or Ryzen 5 3600
  • RAM: 16GB
  • Graphics card: Intel Arc A770, RTX 2060 or RX 5600 XT

Finally, the Ultra system spec, which targets 4K resolution at max settings, includes:

  • CPU: Core i7-9700K or Ryzen 7 3700X
  • RAM: 16GB
  • Graphics card: RTX 3080 or RX 6800 XT

In all cases, you'll need 35GB of SSD space handy to install the game. DX11 and DX12 options are available, you can play with a completely uncapped frame rate and features like Nvidia Reflex are supported to minimise response times.

XDefiant officially launches on the 21st of May for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

KitGuru Says: Will any of you be playing XDefiant when it drops next week?

2K Games may officially reveal BioShock 4 in June

17 mai 2024 à 12:30

Take-Two provided a number of updates yesterday as part of its quarterly earnings report. We now have a more solid timeframe for when Grant Theft Auto 6 will be out, and the folks over at 2K Games are preparing to reveal the next game in one of its “biggest and most beloved” franchises.

2K will hold its big game reveal on Friday the 7th of June as part of Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Gest stream. While 2K is keeping quiet on what game it will be revealing, there are already several immediate candidates that spring to mind.

2K plans to reveal the next iteration in one of 2K's biggest and most beloved franchises at @SummerGameFest on Friday, June 7. pic.twitter.com/1vyFXE2N4z

— Summer Game Fest (@summergamefest) May 16, 2024

For starters, 2K Games has been working on the next BioShock game for over five years at this point. Recent rumours suggested that a reveal would be coming soon, so this is what I'd be putting my money on. However, there are two more, less likely potential games that come to mind as well.

Hangar 13 has begun development on the next Mafia game, as learned through recent job listings as part of a hiring spree for the Mafia 4 team. Additionally, Take-Two recently acquired Gearbox Entertainment, bringing Gearbox and the Borderlands IP back under the 2K Games banner. Gearbox has been working on the next mainline Borderlands too, although it might be too soon for either the next Mafia or Borderlands title to be revealed. Currently, BioShock seems to be the closest to release.

KitGuru Says: It has been over a decade since the last BioShock game and I think there is a lot of pent up demand for a return to that style of game.

Take-Two confirms Grand Theft Auto 6 releasing ‘Fall’ 2025

17 mai 2024 à 11:00

Take-Two's quarterly earnings call just wrapped up last night and it brought about some unexpected Grand Theft Auto 6 news. Rockstar already announced that the game was planned for 2025 with the reveal trailer, but now the release window has been narrowed down further.

During Take-Two's quarterly earnings report, the publisher shared some future-looking statements, noting that Grand Theft Auto 6 is planned to release in ‘Fall' 2025, so it could launch anywhere between September and November.

Take-Two is already bracing itself for another massive GTA launch. Grand Theft Auto 5 broke many records upon its release and in the decade following, in large part thanks to the popularity of GTA Online. Grand Theft Auto 6 will be the first new game in the series since 2013, so there is no doubt high demand for a new game and it will more than likely lead to an uptick in console sales, something that Sony and Microsoft are likely banking on at the moment.

Take-Two says it is “highly confident” in GTA 6 and it has “expectations for the commercial impact of the title to continue to increase” over the three years post-launch.

KitGuru Says: I'm excited for GTA 6 but the likely scenario that the game doesn't come to PC at launch is a bit of a downer. Perhaps Rockstar will surprise us for a change…

Activision is opening up a new studio with veterans from CD Projekt, Naughty Dog and Bungie

16 mai 2024 à 17:33

In a surprise move today, Microsoft has announced that it has actually opened a new games studio. Following on from last year's Activision Blizzard acquisition, Xbox allowed Toys for Bob to go independent. Now, a new Activision Blizzard studio is opening up to fill the gap.

Elsewhere Entertainment is a newly formed studio looking to develop a “narrative-based and genre-defining AAA franchise”, better yet, this studio will have nothing to do with Call of Duty, so we may actually see something interesting from Activision outside of the Blizzard titles.

Elsewhere Entertainment is based in Warsaw, Poland and naturally, that does mean that some notable talent behind games like The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 is now working at this studio. Some former Naughty Dog, Ubisoft and Bungie employees are also part of the Elsewhere team, which is developing its first major project with a team of “expert storytellers”.

Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

We don't know much else about the project just yet but it would seem that Microsoft is investing quite heavily into it. It seems unlikely that this game will be ready before the end of this current console generation though.

Ghost of Tsushima PC DLSS 3 performance revealed

16 mai 2024 à 17:00

Nvidia has dropped its latest batch of DLSS titles. The big headliner this week is obviously Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut, which gets an impressive performance boost with DLSS 3 on RTX 40 series graphics cards. There are a couple other games also getting DLSS worth noting.

According to Nvidia's testing, the RTX 4090 is capable of running Ghost of Tsushima at max settings, at 4K resolution at 84FPS before DLSS. If you switch on DLSS 3, you'll get over 200 frames per second. The RTX 4080 Super and RTX 4070/Ti Super graphics cards aren't too far behind, offering 165FPS, 143FPS and 125FPS, respectively, with DLSS 3 at 4K.

1440p results are naturally very impressive too, you can see the graphs for 4K, 1440p and 1080p in the gallery below:

Naturally, as a DLSS 3 title, Ghost of Tsushima also has Nvidia Reflex, which lowers system latency for any system with a GTX 10 series graphics card or newer. The tech works best on the latest generation RTX 40 series GPUs and is automatically enabled when DLSS 3's Frame Generation is turned on to combat the latency gain.

Aside from Ghost of Tsushima, Die by the Blade is also launching today with DLSS 2. This is a 1v1 melee-focused fighting game where players will have to put their timing and weapon skills to the test. With DLSS 2, users will be able to get a notable boost in performance.

Ubisoft confirms Assassin’s Creed Shadows won’t require an online connection to play

16 mai 2024 à 15:33

Assassin's Creed Shadows was officially unveiled this week and players quickly learned that physical copies of the game will require an online internet connection to install. This led to concerns that the entire game would require an online connection but Ubisoft has now confirmed that this is not the case.

Assassin's Creed Shadows will requite an online connection during the first install of the game, even if you bought a physical copy on disc. Ubisoft doesn't explain exactly why this is the case but it very likely has something to do with combatting early sales of the game, and thus early streams or gameplay videos. This way, any gameplay leaks that take place leading up to launch will have likely come from a review copy with early access, which will in turn make it easier for Ubisoft to track the source.

An update from the team on Assassin's Creed Shadows. pic.twitter.com/PTY9TXSiEo

— Assassin's Creed (@assassinscreed) May 16, 2024

While the install process will require an online connection, which will stop players from being able to use a physical copy to play the game early, once installed, the entire game will be playable offline. This means it will be friendly for handheld devices like the Steam Deck, and for those with slow or unreliable internet connections.

Assassin's Creed Shadows will officially launch for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on the 15th of November.

KitGuru Says: Given the recent news that the map will be closer to the size of Assassin's Creed: Origins, rather than Odyssey or Valhalla, I'm a bit more interested in checking this out later in the year. Are any of you planning on picking up the  new Assassin's Creed this year?

Sapphire is teaming up with the team behind Frostpunk to launch a special edition graphics card. The new Sapphire PURE AMD RX 7700 XT Frostpunk 2 Edition promises a unique look, including a custom backplate featuring the Frostpunk logo. Better yet, the graphics card comes with some exclusive extras alongside a code for the game.

GeForce Now adds Palworld and more this week

16 mai 2024 à 15:00

Nvidia is back this week with another round of games for GeForce Now users. The cloud gaming service adds new games each week throughout the year. Today's update includes five new titles, including hit indie game ‘Palworld'.

If you are using a Steam Deck, you'll also want to grab Nvidia's new GeForce Now beta installer. Previously, users could get GeForce Now running on a Steam Deck by jumping through some hoops but now, the official installer will go through the effort of grabbing the Linux version of Chrome for you, and the web interface is now fully navigable with a controller, so you'll no longer have to rely on touch-screen input, or a keyboard and mouse.

As for new games joining GeForce Now, this week's update includes:

  • Men of War II (New release on Steam, May 15)
  • Die by the Blade (New release on Steam, May 16)
  • Colony Survival (Steam)
  • Palworld (Steam)
  • Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition (Xbox, available on PC Game Pass)

Interestingly, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is arriving a little late, as it was also listed on last week's GFN Thursday announcement.

Rockstar co-founder’s ‘Absurd Ventures’ working on an ‘open-world action-adventure’ game

16 mai 2024 à 12:58

Rockstar co-founder, Dan Houser, officially unveiled his new media company, Absurd Ventures, in 2023. Shortly afterwards, the first two projects were announced, but neither were gaming-focused. Now, it appears that Absurd Ventures is beginning to work on its first game project, and some early details have been uncovered through job listings.

Unsurprisingly, the game in question sounds like Houser's specialty. On the Absurd Ventures website, a new job listing shows that the company is hiring for a lead gameplay designer for an “open world action-adventure game”. The game aims to offer “best-in-class combat and third person action across multiple game modes”.

Elsewhere, it would appear that Absurd Ventures will be going with Unreal Engine for its new project, which makes sense as it is one of the more accessible engines on the market and there are many developers with experience using it, which would mean less downtime for training.

It sounds like this game is only just in the early stages, so it will be a while before we see it officially revealed. In the meantime, Absurd Ventures has two other multimedia projects in the works, including a graphic novel and a radio drama.

Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru Says: Absurd Ventures has already hired a few former veteran Rockstar writers, so it will be interesting to see what this game evolves into.

Ubisoft cancels The Division Heartland after three years of development

16 mai 2024 à 11:00

The Division Heartland was first announced in 2021, serving as a free to play spin-off to grow the franchise. While the game has had several playtests and even an extensive rework, it missed several potential launch windows. Now, Ubisoft has officially cancelled the project.

Ubisoft has confirmed that The Division Heartland is cancelled. In a statement to Insider Gaming, a spokesperson confirmed that the company made “the tough call to halt development”, but layoffs are not expected to follow. Instead, the team at Red Storm Entertainment will be transitioning to other projects, like XDefiant and Rainbow Six.

The news follows on from Ubisoft’s most recent quarterly earnings report, in which executives announced plans to practice “increased selectivity of its investments”. Tom Henderson had previously reported that The Division Heartland failed to “resonate with players” over the course of several playtests.

While The Division Heartland is no more, Ubisoft is still planning The Division 3, a new mainline entry into the series.

Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru Says: I was a fan of The Division's mainline games but a free-to-play spin off had a number of question marks around it. Still, given that the game seemed to be so close to ‘finished' in 2023, it is surprising to see it scrapped for good.

Red Dead Redemption 2 returns to PS+ this month

15 mai 2024 à 18:20

Sony has revealed the next batch of games for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers. This time around, we're getting a bit of a smaller drop, featuring ten games, most of which are older PS4 titles, but there are a few current-gen games in the mix too.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is the clear headliner here. Those subscribed to PS+ Extra or PS+ Premium will now have access to Rockstar's western masterpiece once again. While the game is playable on PS5 (as all PS4 games are), it does not include any upgrades, like a 60FPS mode.

The full list of games coming to PS+ Extra this month include:

  • Red Dead Redemption 2 – PS4
  • Deceive Inc. – PS5
  • The Sims 4 City Living – PS4
  • Crime Boss: Rockay City – PS5
  • The Settlers: New Allies – PS4
  • Stranded: Alien Dawn – PS4, PS5
  • Cat Quest – PS4
  • Cat Quest 2 – PS4

Assassin’s Creed Shadows set for November launch, new trailer now live

15 mai 2024 à 18:01

Just as promised, today Ubisoft officially revealed Assassin's Creed Shadows with a lengthy cinematic trailer. As expected, the game is indeed set in Feudal Japan, and players will have a choice between two protagonist characters, one of which is Yasuke, the legendary African samurai. At the very end of the trailer, we also get official confirmation of the game's Q4 release date.

The trailer is purely cinematic, setting up the conflict within Japan. Players can take on the role of Naoe, an adept Shinobi from the Iga Province, or Yasuke, the powerful African samurai of historical legend.

The game is set during the late Sengoku period in Japanese history, as warring parties attempt to usher in a new age for Japan. We will get our first look at gameplay in June, and as Insider Gaming claims, there will be hands-on opportunities to play an early build of the game during Summer Games Fest, so we should see first impressions from journalists and content creators in June as well.

Assassin's Creed Shadows is due to launch for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on the 15th of November.

Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru Says: Will you be picking up this year's Assassin's Creed game? My only hope is that the scope of the open world is reigned in a bit, as both Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Valhalla became a bit of a slog to get through after the first dozen hours.

Microsoft is working on bringing more Xbox titles to PlayStation

15 mai 2024 à 17:00

Earlier this year, Microsoft announced plans to bring four previously exclusive games to rival consoles for the first time. So far, this has led to Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, Pentiment and Grounded all going to PlayStation or Switch (or both in some cases). Now, it appears Microsoft is planning another wave of games for PlayStation.

According to Jez Corden of Windows Central, the Xbox team has a new initiative underway, codenamed “Latitude”, which is being used to develop several more Xbox titles for PS5. There is no mention of Nintendo here, so it could be that Microsoft is waiting to see what Nintendo's next-gen hardware will deliver in 2025, before investing more in bringing games over.

Corden unfortunately does not name any particular games making the jump but he claims they are “potentially obvious games you'd most likely expect”. Given the first wave of titles released focused on smaller games, I'm not sure if we should be expecting the likes of Halo or Forza to make the jump just yet.

With that said, the report does also go on to say that Microsoft's CEO and CFO have mandated a “no red line” approach as part of the company's efforts to increase profit margins across all business units, including Xbox. This could mean that major exclusives like Halo are indeed now on the table.

Personally, I would like to see Starfield on PS5, as I don't think the game got a fair enough shake at launch – in fact, I seem to be one of the few reviewers that genuinely thought the game lived up to the hype. Perhaps access to a wider user base will lead to more fans discovering the game. Honestly, I could say the same thing about Halo Infinite too. Many hardcore Halo fans disliked the campaign but I thought it was the breath of fresh air that the series needed.

Ghost of Tsushima will be playable on Steam Deck, but no multiplayer

15 mai 2024 à 16:00

Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut officially lands on Steam tomorrow. We've already covered the worldwide launch unlock times, but now it is time to focus our attention on the game's Steam Deck capabilities. If you own the handheld, you will indeed be able to play Ghost of Tsushima on it, however, the game does not have full Steam Deck verification, as the game's multiplayer functionality won't be available on the system.

Ghost of Tsushima's single-player campaign, including the base game and Iki Island expansion, will be fully playable on Steam Deck. However, certain features will not be accessible. This is in part due to the new PSN network implementation, which requires Windows. As a result, Steam Deck users won't get access to the PSN overlay, or the Legends multiplayer mode.

We don't know exactly how well Ghost of Tsushima will run on Steam Deck hardware at this time, but previous PlayStation PC titles have ran well on the handheld, with one or two exceptions, the main one being The Last of Us Part 1, which struggles on many desktop PCs too.

As Ghost of Tsushima's multiplayer mode and PSN overlay features won't work via the Steam Deck's Proton tool, which is used to get DirectX games running on Linux, the game does not have Valve's full Steam Deck certification but Sony has confirmed that the single-player mode has been tested and works. If you are planning on playing the game on a Steam Deck, we would recommend starting off with the low graphics preset and then going from there.

Ghost of Tsushima will have a worldwide launch on PC – here are the unlock times

15 mai 2024 à 15:00

Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut will not be accessible for most of the day on release. The game launches tomorrow on Steam, bringing the game to PC for the first time, complete with the Iki Island expansion and the Legends multiplayer mode. As the game has been out for roughly four years already on consoles, one might have expected a local midnight launch for their time zone, but that won't be the case, as Sony has scheduled a worldwide launch time.

If you are in the UK or Europe and you plan on playing Ghost of Tsushima tomorrow, you'll have to wait quite a while. The game will not unlock at midnight in your local time zone. Here in the UK (BST), the game is set to unlock at 4PM, which will be 5PM in Central Europe. The US gets the better end of the stick here, with the game unlocking at 8AM on the west coast and 11AM on the east coast.

Fortunately, if you want to get the game downloaded ahead of time, you can now pre-install it on Steam. It is a 50GB download, so make sure you have some SSD space handy. Ghost of Tsushima officially launches on the 16th of May in most territories, while the release date slips into May 17th for the Australia and Japan time zones.

UK government officially responds to ‘Stop Killing Games’ petition

15 mai 2024 à 14:15

The UK government has officially responded to a popular petition that has been doing the rounds recently. After Ubisoft shut down The Crew and actively removed the game from customer’s digital libraries, the Stop Killing Games campaign kicked off, asking the government to prevent games companies from making their games completely unplayable once online services come to an end. Unfortunately, the UK government is siding with the game publishers on this one.

The Stop Killing Games campaign's petition surpassed the 10,000 signatures needed to merit an official response from the government. In its statement, the Department of Culture, Media & Sport stated that “there is no requirement in UK law compelling software companies and providers to support older versions” of their software. The government also added that “there may be occasions where companies make commercial decisions based on the high running costs of maintaining older servers for video games that have a declining userbase”.

However, the statement does also add that “if consumers are led to believe that a game will remain playable indefinitely for certain systems”, then the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations Act could potentially be applied, which would require companies to ensure the game “remains technically feasible”, through an offline mode.

The petition is still going on, so if it reaches 100,000 signatures by the 16th of October, then the topic will be considered for debate in Parliament. In a statement giving to GI.biz, the organisers behind the Stop Killing Games campaign have said that they will be consulting a lawyer to see about legal options consumers may have in the wake of games like The Crew being shutdown for good and pulled from consumer libraries.

KitGuru Says: While there will always be some games designed to be ‘always online' the vast majority simply don't need to be. There is no reason why The Crew couldn't have had an offline mode. Given all of the issues we regularly see with online games shutting down and being inaccessible forever, it baffles me that more developers aren't designing games with offline modes in mind.

New mod turns Helldivers 2 into Star Wars: Battlefront

15 mai 2024 à 12:00

Helldivers 2 has already had a certain amount of Star Wars flavour embedded into it, but modders are looking to take that to a new level. A new mod revealed this week aims to turn Helldivers into Star Wars: Battlefront, with various assets replaced with new ones from the Star Wars universe.

The modder behind the project, who goes by the name of ToastedShoes, shared a gameplay video on YouTube earlier this week, showcasing the mod in action. The video shows the player and their squad wearing clone trooper armour from the prequel trilogy, fighting against various droid enemies. The mod also changes the player ships to star destroyers to increase the Star Wars vibe.

According to ToastedShoes, the mod is not ready for release yet, as it still has some bugs and compatibility issues with some planets and difficulty levels. However, he said he plans to make the mod available to download once it is finished and stable.

While the mod looks fun, it also raises some legal questions. Helldivers 2 is not designed to be a mod-friendly game, as it requires an online connection and has an anti-cheat system. Installing mods could potentially lead to bans for players. On top of that, Disney may take issue with the mod due to it being unlicensed. As Helldivers 2 is one of the most popular games of 2024, it wouldn't surprise me if Disney did take notice of this mod and made efforts to shut it down before being released to the public.

KitGuru Says: Would you risk installing mods for Helldivers 2? Personally, I think the base game has enough Star Wars flavour inherently, without the need for extra tweaks, although I will admit it is very cool to see Star Destroyers and clone trooper armour in the game.
