Ghost of Yotei sales are outpacing Tsushima according to Sony

6 février 2026 à 13:00

Ghost of Yotei was one of PlayStation’s biggest first-party exclusives to release in 2025, with the sequel to 2020’s Tsushima receiving equally as high praise as the first entry. When it comes to sales however, despite being on a console with a smaller total userbase, Ghost of Yotei has outsold Tsushima when launch-aligned.

As part of the company’s latest fiscal earnings report, Sony offered some updated sales data for its first-party releases. Unfortunately, the console maker is rather selective when it comes to sharing official sales.

That said, we have gotten confirmation that 2025’s Ghost of Yotei is performing well so far, with Sony CFO Lin Tao revealing (as transcribed by Gamesindustry.biz) that Yotei has “exceeded the sales of Ghost of Tsushima in the same period of time.”

Ghost of Tsushima

As mentioned, exact apples-to-apples comparisons can’t be made due to Sony’s inconsistent sharing of sales data, however based on what we do know the original Ghost of Tsushima sold 2.4 million copies within its first 3 days on the market. It then took until 128 days post-launch for the title to reach 5 million.

Yotei on the other hand was revealed to have sold a total of 3.3 million copies within its first 32 days on sale. Considering the fact that Yotei has supposedly outpaced Tsushima it will be interesting to see how many copies it will have sold by the time it reaches its 128th day on the market.

KitGuru says: What do you think of Ghost of Yotei? How does it compare to Tsushima? Will the sequel eventually outsell the original? Let us know your thoughts down below.

Starfield reportedly coming to PS5 this April

6 février 2026 à 12:00

While Starfield is in many people’s eyes one of Bethesda Game Studios’ most disappointing products, the space-faring RPG sandbox did find a dedicated audience of players. Following on from previous rumours claiming that the Xbox console exclusive is planned to be ported to the PlayStation 5, insiders are now stating that the PS5 release is scheduled to go live this April.

As shared by the Polish publication PPE (who has accurately reported on Xbox games coming to PS5 in the past), Starfield’s PS5 release is scheduled to arrive on the 7th of April – just over two months away.

PS5 Bethesda

While little else was shared, it has been all-but-confirmed that Bethesda is currently working on a mini-overhaul of sorts for Starfield, with focus being put on improving space traversal; though details are relatively light so far.

Regardless, assuming this release date is true, then Starfield could finally be getting its long-awaited update in a couple months’ time. It will be interesting to see how the game performs on PS5 given Starfield’s less-than-stellar reputation.

KitGuru says: What did you think of Starfield at launch? Have the updates improved the experience? Will this supposed overhaul fix the game in your eyes? Let us know down below.

Epic plans to bring its Games Store to the next-gen Xbox on ‘Day-One’

6 février 2026 à 11:00

Microsoft has all-but-abandoned the Xbox console in recent years, with many of its first-party releases – past, present and future – being ported over to the likes of the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. This move away from exclusivity is set to be further entrenched with the next generation of Xbox consoles, with Epic Games now officially confirming that their Games Store will arrive on the next Xbox on day-one.

In an interview conducted by Stephen Totilo of Game File, Epic Games Steve Allison spoke on their plans for Xbox in the wake of Microsoft’s continued shift away from exclusivity, stating:

“We definitely plan to be on the new hardware for Xbox, because, unless their policy or stance on it changes, they are telling us they’re going to welcome that. And we’re going [to] be there, like, on day one. That will probably require us to build in whatever their requirements are, some sort of software to support that.”

Epic Games Store

While Microsoft has welcomed the idea of bringing other storefronts to Xbox consoles, this latest statement is far from concrete confirmation – especially as Microsoft has been particularly fickle in recent years.

Still, assuming Epic does wind up launching its Games Store on the next gen Xbox, it will be highly interesting to see how this will impact the use of Microsoft’s own storefront on the system.

KitGuru says: Are you at all interested in the next-gen Xbox? What are your expectations towards the system? Will this be good or bad for Xbox in the long-term? Let us know your thoughts down below.

Guerrilla Games officially announce co-op focused ‘Horizon Hunters Gathering’

6 février 2026 à 10:00

Following the success of Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West, insiders claimed that multiple additional projects set in the world of Horizon were in the works. Alongside the MMO in development with NCSOFT (Horizon Steel Frontiers), the OG franchise creators Guerrilla Games have now unveiled their own multiplayer project: Horizon Hunters Gathering.

Releasing a lengthy 10-minute announcement trailer, the team at Guerrilla Games officially unveiled Horizon Hunters Gathering – a 3-player co-op experience in which you “Choose from a roster of uniquely skilled Hunters…and rally for the hunt as you face off against a deadly machine threat in action-packed combat and high-stake missions.”

Launching simultaneously on PS5 and PC, Hunters Gathering will include support for both cross-play and cross-progression alongside online matchmaking (though the game can also be played solo with two AI companions).

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the game is its art style, with Horizon Hunters Gathering featuring a much more cartoony aesthetic when compared to the mainline Horizon entries.

So far, no release date nor a release window has been provided, however those interested in the title can sign up for future playtests right now (the details of which can be found HERE).

While the Horizon games are known for their narratives, both Zero Dawn and Forbidden West feature fun and satisfying combat. With Hunters Gathering looking to further evolve its gameplay, here’s to hoping that the co-op title winds up being a success on all fronts.

KitGuru says: What do you think of Horizon Hunters Gathering so far? Are you more interested in it or the NCSOFT MMO? Let us know down below.

Overwatch 2 soft reboot drops the 2 from the name, introduces sub-roles and passives

5 février 2026 à 18:00

When Overwatch 2 was announced, it was a very controversial move as many fans didn't believe a sequel was needed. Now a couple of years later, Blizzard has come to that realisation as well, dropping the ‘2' from the name and introducing a soft reboot of Overwatch.

As part of this soft reboot, fans can expect ten new heroes to join the roster, with five of them becoming available alongside the next major seasonal update. In the video below, you can get a closer look at all of the new changes coming to Overwatch in the coming weeks.

In addition to the new characters, Blizzard is overhauling the game's core balance by introducing sub-roles and unique passive buffs. This change further specialises the tank, damage, and support classes into categories:

TANK

  • Bruiser (Mauga / Orisa / Roadhog / Zarya): Reduces critical damage received. While at critical health, gain movement speed.
  • Initiator (D.Va / Doomfist / Winston / Wrecking Ball): Staying airborne lightly heals you.
  • Stalwart (Domina / Hazard / Junker Queen / Ramattra / Reinhardt / Sigma): Reduces knockbacks and slows received.

DAMAGE

  • Sharpshooter (Ashe / Cassidy / Hanzo / Sojourn / Widowmaker): Critical hits reduce your movement ability cooldowns.
  • Flanker (Anran / Genji / Reaper / Tracer / Vendetta / Venture): Health packs restore more health.
  • Specialist (Bastion / Emre / Junkrat / Mei / Soldier: 76 / Symmetra / Torbjorn): Eliminating an enemy briefly increases your reload speed.
  • Recon (Echo / Freja / Pharah / Sombra): You detect enemies below half health through walls after damaging them.

SUPPORT

  • Tactician (Ana / Baptiste / Jetpack Cat / Lucio / Zenyatta): You can gain excess ultimate charge, which carries over after using your ultimate ability.
  • Medic (Kiriko / Lifeweaver / Mercy / Moira): Healing allies with your weapon also heals you.
  • Survivor (Brigitte / Illari / Juno / Mizuki / Wuyang): Using a movement ability activates passive health regeneration.

KitGuru says: Do you still play Overwatch? Do you think the game needed this soft reboot?

DeepCool unveils new CG530U dual-chamber case with curved glass

5 février 2026 à 17:30

DeepCool has expanded its chassis lineup with the CG530U, a new mid-tower using the popular “fishtank” design. The new case is claimed to feature a seamless, curved tempered glass panel that wraps around the front and side, removing the traditional pillar to provide an unobstructed view of the internal hardware.

The internal architecture of the CG530U (via Cowcotland) is fully optimised for modern hardware, including support for motherboards with rear-mounted connectors. DeepCool has reportedly included four 120 mm ARGB fans as standard: one at the rear and three reverse-blade models mounted along the side. These fans feature a unique infinity mirror centre and side-strip lighting, designed to provide a high-end look without the need for immediate aftermarket upgrades.

Cooling compatible looks quite versatile, with the dual-chamber layout supporting up to ten fans in total. Builders can reportedly install a 360 mm radiator at the top or bottom of the chassis, while the side mount is supposed to be limited to a 280 mm radiator due to the internal height constraints of the 475 x 285 x 380 mm frame. Despite its relatively compact footprint, the case is said to accommodate substantial hardware, including graphics cards up to 410 mm in length and CPU air coolers up to 160 mm tall. The top panel's connectivity features two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port.

The CG530U will be available in black and white. First retailer listings (like Digitec) suggest the case is expected to cost around £70.

KitGuru says: While pillarless designs often come with a premium, at £70, the CG530U looks to be very affordable, especially considering it comes with four ARGB infinity mirror fans.

AMD confirms Microsoft’s next-gen Xbox for 2027

5 février 2026 à 16:45

AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su confirmed during the company's Q4 FY2025 earnings call that the silicon powering Microsoft's next-generation Xbox is currently on track for a 2027 launch.

While Microsoft itself has remained tight-lipped regarding its hardware roadmap, AMD stated that development of the semi-custom SoC is progressing well. This upcoming processor, frequently referred to in leaks as the Magnus APU, is expected to leverage AMD's Zen 6 CPU architecture alongside RDNA 5 graphics.

In the more immediate future, Valve's long-awaited Steam Machine revival appears to be entering the final stages of production. During the same earnings call, Dr. Su indicated that the AMD-powered Steam Machine remains on course to begin shipping early this year. However, Valve has since confirmed that the information isn't accurate, and the console, along with the Steam Frame VR headset, will be slightly delayed. Due to the ongoing memory and storage shortages, Valve decided to push the release window to the first half of 2026.

This compact cube is supposed to act as a more powerful sibling to the Steam Deck, housing a semi-custom Zen 4 processor and RDNA 3 graphics.

KitGuru says: AMD's confirmation of a 2027 launch for the next Xbox silicon suggests that Microsoft is eager to reset its console segment sooner rather than later, possibly to pre-empt Sony's PlayStation 6. The next Xbox may have more competition than expected though if Valve's new Steam Machine takes off.

Diablo 4 to get Warlock class with Lord of Hatred expansion

5 février 2026 à 16:13

In December, Blizzard announced the next expansion for Diablo 4 and as a bonus to anyone who pre-ordered, they would also get immediate access to the new Paladin class. A secret second playable class was also announced at the time, but with the expansion still months away, fans have only been able to speculate over what it could be. That changed this week thanks to new datamining efforts.

The second playable class launching alongside the new expansion is set to be a Warlock. Leaked concept art from the Public Test Realm also clearly shows a Warlock character standing next to the Paladin. While the Paladin wields holy power, the Warlock will tap into demon powers, as noted by the shadowy red hand reaching out in the key art.

A datamine of the latest Diablo 4 PTR update also contained strings noting the Warlock as a new class. Prior to this, many fans had speculated that the Amazon or Blood Knight could be part of the new expansion, but it seems Blizzard chose to introduce an entirely new class instead. While Warlocks have appeared in other Blizzard titles, notably World of Warcraft, this will be the first time one has appeared in a Diablo game.

Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred launches on April 28th 2026 for all supported platforms. Aside from the new Warlock class, the update will also add a new region to the map – the Skovos Isles, alongside hours of new story content, culminating in a showdown against Mephisto.

KitGuru Says: I really enjoyed the new Paladin class when I tried it out last month. I am hoping the Warlock will be just as fun to play when it arrives.

Turok Origins trailer confirms Autumn 2026 release window

5 février 2026 à 16:01

Fans have been eagerly awaiting for more news on Saber Interactive's Turok Origins since its reveal at The Game Awards. This afternoon during the Nintendo Direct partner showcase, we got a brand new trailer for the game, alongside confirmation that the game is releasing this year.

Previously, fans had speculated a 2026 release window for Turok: Origins but now with the latest trailer, we can narrow that down further, with the game planned to launch in Autumn 2026 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and now, Switch 2 as well.

The new trailer showcases a number of levels players will explore, from a dense jungle to rocky canyons and even swampy lowlands. Players will have to use fast movement and a mix of energy-based, ballistic and bow weapons to take down the dinosaur threats. At some point, players will also get access to a powered suit for close-up melee combat.

Turok Origins will be playable solo, but three-player co-op will also be an option for those who would prefer to play with friends.

There is still no exact release date yet but we should get one this summer as the Autumn release window approaches.

Fallout 4, Oblivion Remastered and Indiana Jones launch on Switch 2 this year

5 février 2026 à 15:41

Bethesda garnered a lot of sales on the Nintendo Switch platform thanks to releases like Skyrim, DOOM and Wolfenstein. Now for the Switch 2 generation, Bethesda is bringing more of its franchises over to Nintendo's platform, including Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition.

Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition launched on other platforms late last year. Now starting on February 24th, the game will also be playable on the Switch 2, but that won't be the only game making its way over to the Nintendo platform this year.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is also landing on the Switch 2 platform. The game will become available on May 12th 2026.

Finally, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is also launching on the Switch 2 this year, although there is no firm release date yet, indicating that it won't arrive until the second half of the year.

KitGuru Says: While Fallout 4 should be a pretty easy game to run, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, as well as Oblivion Remastered are two graphical masterpieces, so it will be interesting to see how well they run, and how good they look on a handheld.

Capcom’s Pragmata launches in April for Switch 2 and other systems

5 février 2026 à 15:28

Capcom's upcoming game ‘Pragmata' has been shrouded in mystery since its reveal. Today during the Nintendo Direct partner showcase, we finally got our first real look at gameplay, along with an April release date.

Pragmata stars Hugh Williams, who has been tasked with investigating a lunar research station. As you might expect, things don't go to plan and he ends up injured. In an effort to figure out what is going on and return home safely, he teams up with an Android, Diana, to take down dangerous AI-controlled security bots.

The combat involves a mix of hacking mini games and shooting, with different hacks giving different buffs so you can take down enemies faster, or take down even bigger bosses.

A demo for Pragmata will be available later today on Nintendo Switch 2. The game will then fully launch on April 24th.

KitGuru Says: I was initially intrigued but the hacking mini game in the middle of combat looks like it will get annoying pretty quickly. Maybe I'm wrong though. Will any of you be trying the demo later?

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth comes to Switch 2 in June

5 février 2026 à 15:18

While it was a PS5 exclusive at launch, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth began going multiplatform with its PC release last year. Now in 2026, the game is heading to the Nintendo Switch 2 console.

Announced this afternoon during the Nintendo Direct partner showcase, Nintendo and Square Enix confirmed that the second installment in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy will arrive on Nintendo's latest console on June 3rd.

The game will land just six months after the release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake on the Nintendo Switch 2. As this is a much larger game compared to the original remake, expect performance and resolutions to waver slightly, and you'll want to make sure you have plenty of free space handy, as it is likely to eat up more than half of the Switch 2's internal storage.

KitGuru Says: Performance looked a little choppy during the stream, but the game is still a number of months away from launch, so it should get tightened up.

ASRock responds to AM5 motherboard failure reports

5 février 2026 à 13:20

In recent weeks there have been a number of user reports claiming that their AM5 CPUs died without warning. All of these reports had one thing in common – an ASRock motherboard. Now, ASRock has issued its first official statement on the matter.

For those unaware, the issue began doing the rounds on Reddit earlier this month, impacting a Ryzen 5 9600X, two Ryzen 7 9700X CPUs, a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and a Ryzen 9 9950X3D. The issue wasn't limited to one motherboard model either, spanning B850, X870 and X870E models.

In response, ASRock has offered the following statement:

“ASRock is closely monitoring recent discussions regarding the performance and behavior of AMD Ryzen 9000 series processors on ASRock AMD platforms. In response to these reports, we have implemented comprehensive internal reviews and rigorous verification processes. We have been working in seamless coordination with AMD continuously to further validate system performance across a wide range of hardware configurations, while optimizing BIOS and enhancing overall system stability.”

“ASRock deeply values user feedback as a cornerstone of our continuous improvement. Customers experiencing technical difficulties or seeking further assistance are encouraged to contact the ASRock Technical Support Department. We remain committed to delivering high-performance products that meet the highest standards of quality and performance.”

The statement doesn't offer much but issues like this do often take time to investigate fully. Hopefully ASRock is also reaching out to those impacted to get more information to help identify the root cause.

Black Myth: Wukong reportedly coming to Switch 2, according to insider

5 février 2026 à 13:00

Like with many Nintendo consoles before it, the Switch 2 has slowly but surely been getting a back-catalogue of previously-released 3rd party titles. As with previous consoles, some of these ports have run into issues due to the power disparity between the Switch 2 and other current-gen consoles. Despite this, it seems as though the technically demanding Black Myth: Wukong is planned to arrive on Switch 2 at some point, according to one insider.

Ahead of the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 partner showcase, known leaker NateDrake offered some insider details on what could be shown off during the presentation.

Though not necessarily confirmed for the showcase, Nate claimed that Game Science’s 2024 breakout hit Black Myth: Wukong is in development for the Switch 2.

Wukong Nintendo

Of course, Black Myth: Wukong was a huge success upon its initial release, selling over 25 million copies, and so it makes sense to bring the popular title over the Switch 2.

That said, the game struggled from various performance issues on other current-gen consoles (though some of this was improved with updates) and so it will be highly interesting to see what compromises will need to be made in order to get the Unreal Engine 5 showpiece to run smoothly on Nintendo’s handheld hybrid. Assuming it will be announced at the Nintendo Direct, then we won’t have to wait long to find out.

KitGuru says: Are you looking forward to the Nintendo Partner Showcase? What games do you hope will be announced? Are there any current-gen titles which you think the Switch 2 wouldn’t be able to handle? Let us know down below.

PS5 has officially outsold the PlayStation 3 with over 92 million units shipped

5 février 2026 à 12:00

While the early days of the PlayStation 5 were hampered by supply issues, a global pandemic and more, the 9th-gen console has since more than made up for lost time. While ever so slightly behind the PS4’s sales when launch-aligned, the PlayStation 5 is closing in on its next major milestone – having now shipped a total of 92.2 million consoles.

As part of Sony’s last fiscal earnings report, the console maker revealed that they have shipped a total of 8 million PlayStation 5’s during the 3rd Quarter (ending 31st of December), bringing the total number of consoles shipped to 92.2 million.

Of course, units shipped does not equate to consoles sold, but the relationship between the two is connected. Assuming the units shipped translate (eventually) to consoles sold, the PS5 is set to become the 8th best-selling system of all time, taking the spot away from the PS3’s 87.4 million units.

PlayStation Million

As mentioned, when launch-aligned the PS5 is still ever so slightly behind the PlayStation 4, with the last-gen console having shipped 94.4 million units within the same period.

Regardless, the PlayStation 5 has been a huge success for Sony, not only in terms of hardware sales but total revenue from its gaming division overall, and so it will be interesting to see what these figures look like come the end of the generation.

KitGuru says: What do you think of the PS5 as we enter its 6th year on the market? When did you purchase a PS5? Will the PlayStation 5 outsell the PS4 by the end? Let us know your thoughts down below.

Forza Horizon 6 will include cross-play and cross-save on all systems

5 février 2026 à 11:15

Forza Horizon 6 is the next entry in Playground Games’ highly popular open-world racing franchise. Set to come to Xbox, PC and PlayStation, the latter console’s version is planned for quite a few months on from its May 2026 release date on Xbox and PC. That said, when it does arrive, players will be able to pick up right where they left off, with Forza Horizon 6 confirmed to feature both cross-play and cross-saves.

Taking to Twitter, the official Forza Horizon page confirmed that “For the first time ever, Forza Horizon 6 will support cross-save across PC and consoles, including Xbox, Steam and PlayStation 5.”

This is a big deal not only due to the nature of Forza Horizon and its car collecting, but also due to the fact that the PS5 version is slated to release later in 2026.

Forza Cross-play

Given that the PS5 Pro version will likely wind up being the best way to experience the game on console, it is encouraging to see that players will have the freedom to play on whatever system they like, whenever they like, without missing a beat.

Hopefully we get to learn more about the PS5 version (and its official release date) sooner rather than later.

KitGuru says: Are you glad to see cross-play / cross-save confirmed? Which system do you plan to pick Forza Horizon 6 up on? When do you think the PS5 version will officially release? Let us know down below.

  • REV-46 (SMG)
  • EGRT-17 (AR)
  • H311-SAW (Melee)
  • GDL Havoc (Special)
  • SG-12 (Shotgun)
  • Voyak KT-3 (AR)

All in all, Black Ops 7 Season 2 looks to be jam-packed full of content, whether you are a fan of Multiplayer, Zombies, Warzone or the new Endgame mode.

Hopefully the teams at Treyarch / Activision are able to keep up with their current output throughout the rest of Black Ops 7’s life cycle. Full details on everything coming with Season 2 can be found HERE.

DC Byte analysis warns the era of ‘cheap and abundant RAM’ is over

4 février 2026 à 18:45

The era of cheap, abundant RAM is ending, according to new analysis from data‑centre intelligence firm DC Byte. The analysts say memory prices are rising, availability is tightening, and AI workloads are now dictating how global supply is allocated, although consumer-facing companies can combat this with longer life cycles, software optimisation and careful planning.

DC Byte argues the core issue isn’t a shortage of factory capacity but a deliberate industry pivot. Manufacturers are shifting production away from DDR5 and toward High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), which has become essential for AI accelerators. HBM requires more complex packaging and consumes significantly more wafer capacity, reducing the volume of traditional RAM available to the wider market. We have already seen at least one example of this shift in the market, as Micron confirmed a short while ago that it would be killing off its consumer facing brand and moving more towards supplying data centre customers.

The surge in AI demand has also led to large operators securing multi‑year supply agreements that insulate them from volatility. DC Byte points to major hyperscale projects like OpenAI’s Stargate as examples of deployments capable of absorbing a substantial share of global memory output. The end result is less supply to go around for consumer-oriented tech products.

The analysis suggests that companies may need to shift their planning for future product cycles. Memory procurement is now a strategic risk factor and reduces the margin for error. Architectural decisions may need to be made earlier and companies may face less predictable volumes.

The RAM situation may ease eventually though. Right now, the industry is in a transition period but as the number of HBM production lines increases, the squeeze may ease up on memory typically destined for the consumer market. Companies can also adapt to the new reality by focusing on software efficiency to extract as much value out of its chips as possible. The days of throwing more RAM at a problem might be over, but software developers can navigate this as they have in years past.

That last note could be of particular importance in the gaming market. Over the past few hardware generations, developers have relied less on careful memory management within games as graphics cards and video game consoles continued to up the ante with plentiful memory resources. Moving forward, developers may need to tighten things up, as 8GB GPUs and lower capacity memory kits become the norm.

Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru Says: While there aren't a lot of positives to be found amid rising component costs, longer life cycles of current technology could lead to less FOMO-driven upgrades and a greater focus on software optimisation from developers could be hugely beneficial as well. Perhaps Windows developers will finally cut out some bloat and game developers will stop asking for endless amounts of video memory to achieve smooth performance.

There will be no imminent Switch 2 price hike amid rising RAM costs

4 février 2026 à 18:00

The rising costs of memory in recent months has led to a number of issues in the consumer electronics space. While Sony had planned ahead and stocked up to avoid raising the price of PS5 consoles, Microsoft did not and ended up raising prices. During its recent earnings call, Nintendo was asked if the Switch 2 would be impacted. The answer? No, for now at least.

Speaking on the call (via VGC), Nintendo president, Shuntaro Furukawa, answered a question about rising memory costs and the impact it may have on the Switch 2, saying that while it may have to revise its pricing if component costs rise, it is in talks with suppliers to ensure steady supply. Furukawa also does not expect to need a price increase during the current fiscal year, ending on March 31st 2026.

This does mean that the price of the Switch 2 console could rise later down the line, but for now, Nintendo has done a good job of producing a large number of Switch 2 units and keeping the console readily available for consumers. It has not been difficult to purchase a Switch 2 in its first six months on the market and that shouldn't change this year either.

Nintendo also has the benefit of being able to survive a small drop in profitability on hardware sales due to the cut it gets of every software sale after the fact. As a result, Nintendo won't jump to raise Switch 2 prices over what could potentially be a short-term pricing trend.

Logitech G325 gaming headset debuts with 24-bit audio and dual-mode wireless

4 février 2026 à 17:30

Logitech G has expanded its audio lineup with the introduction of the G325 Lightspeed Wireless gaming headset, a device designed to bridge the gap between entry-level pricing and performance-tier features.

The G325 headset appears to be a successor of sorts to the G435, retaining a light chassis that weighs in at just 212 grams. The core of the G325 is its dual-mode connectivity, offering both low-latency 2.4GHz Lightspeed wireless via a USB dongle and Bluetooth 5.2 for mobile devices, allowing for supposedly seamless transitions between PC, console, and smartphone gaming.

Internally, the G325 features 32 mm drivers supporting 24-bit audio, which Logitech says will provide better detail for spatial awareness in competitive titles. Perhaps the most notable design choice is the omission of a traditional boom microphone. Instead, the G325 utilises an integrated dual-beamforming mic array tucked into the earcups, which leverages AI-powered noise reduction to filter out background clatter without the need for a protruding arm.

Battery life is rated at over 24 hours of continuous playback, which falls short of the triple-digit endurance seen on flagship competitors but remains competitive for its segment. The headset features full integration with the Logitech G Hub software for EQ and mic customisation and is launching in three colourways: lilac, black, and white. The Logitech G325 Wireless gaming headset is now available for £69.99/€79.99/$79.99.

KitGuru says: Logitech seems to be doubling down on the “lifestyle” aesthetic with the G325. By ditching the boom mic and keeping the weight exceptionally low, the headset can transition from a Discord raid to a commute without drawing too much attention.

Fallout season 3 will begin filming much sooner than anticipated

4 février 2026 à 17:00

The production team behind Amazon Prime's Fallout series were eager to get the ball rolling on Season 2 after the success of its debut. Now, it appears that they are looking to shrink the gap between seasons even further, with filming set to begin fairly soon.

Fallout season 3 will reportedly begin filming on May 1st 2026, meaning pre-production is well under way and scripts have already been written. Several sets from prior seasons will also be re-used in the next season.

Fallout Series

Filming will take place over several months and then after that, post-production work and editing will take place. Around 20 months had passed between Fallout Season 1's premier and the debut of the second season. Season 3 could feasibly shrink this further to an under 18-month gap.

Fallout Season 2's finale premiers this week, so fans will be eagerly awaiting news of the third season. It won't be coming until next year, but the wait will be far easier on fans compared to most TV shows in the streaming era.

Intel and OCBase collaborate on direct processor tuning for Granite Rapids

4 février 2026 à 16:30

OCBase has entered into a collaboration with Intel to integrate a dedicated processor-tuning tool directly into OCCT. This new functionality is debuting with native support for the recently launched Intel Xeon 600 “Granite Rapids-WS” workstation processors, marking a shift for OCCT from a purely diagnostic tool to a more comprehensive performance-tuning platform.

The new tool allows users to manipulate core frequencies and other critical parameters on the fly, potentially eliminating the need to toggle between the BIOS and various third-party utilities during a session. According to OCBase (via Vortez), a new dedicated “System Tuning” section will be added to the application, specifically targeting Intel's unlocked models.

The tool is claimed to offer granular per-core clock adjustments and precise voltage modifications, all of which can be performed while a stress test is actively running. This live iteration approach is supposed to significantly reduce the time required to validate a stable overclock, as users can reportedly observe real-time stability impacts without restarting their validation workflows.

The update is also coming to Linux platforms, broadening the tool's appeal. Beyond the technical features, the partnership includes an aesthetic overhaul, with a new Intel-branded skin featuring the company's signature blue and white colour palette. While the tuning suite is currently in closed beta, a public release is reportedly scheduled for the coming weeks. Assuming the final implementation maintains the precision seen in early teases, it could provide a more streamlined alternative to Intel's own Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU) for professional and enthusiast audiences alike.

KitGuru says: The transition of OCCT into an active tuning tool is a logical step for such software. For now, it may be limited to Granite Rapids CPUs, but with the foundation laid, we may be able to tune any unlocked Intel CPU using OCCT in the future.

Grand Theft Auto 6 remains on track for November 2026

4 février 2026 à 16:00

After several delays, it appears that Grand Theft Auto 6 will finally launch this year. During its recent earnings call, Rockstar parent company, Take-Two, reaffirmed the November 2026 release date, while also adding that marketing for the game will ramp up over the summer.

Speaking to IGN, Take-Two CEO, Stauss Zelnick said: “Our execution throughout Fiscal 2026 has been extraordinary and we are highly confident as we approach Fiscal 2027, which promises to be groundbreaking for Take-Two and the entire entertainment industry, led by the November 19th release of Grand Theft Auto VI with Rockstar’s launch marketing set to begin this Summer”.

The statement confirms two things – that Grand Theft Auto 6 is still on track for its November release date, and that we'll start to see more footage of the game over the summer, likely including a new trailer and the first details of the new GTA Online mode.

Unfortunately for PC gamers, there is no release date yet for the PC version of the game. At launch, Grand Theft Auto 6 will only be available on Xbox Series X/S and PS5 consoles. However, a PC version is expected to arrive in 2027.

KitGuru Says: Grand Theft Auto 6 has some lofty expectations to live up to. One has to hope that the single-player mode hasn't suffered in favour of the multiplayer component, which has been Rockstar's primary focus since shipping GTA V.
