The iBuypower Labor Day Sale Kicks Off Early: The Best Deals on Prebuilt Gaming PCs

23 août 2025 à 04:20

iBuypower is kicking off its Labor Day Sale early with some sizeable discounts on turnkey prebuilt gaming PCs equipped with the new Nvidia GeForce RTX 5000 series Blackwell graphics cards. You can also use a limited time coupon code "EARNEDIT" to take an extra $50 to $300 off depending on your order total. iBuypower is also offering free standard shipping on all configs, however can also get an additional discount by choosing a slower shipping service. All systems are covered by a three year labor and two year parts warranty. I've listed out the best deals that are currently part of this sale.

iBuypower RTX 5060 Gaming PC

iBuypower RTX 5070 Gaming PC

iBuypower Radeon RX 9070 XT Gaming PC (32GB/2TB)

iBuypower RTX 5070 Ti Gaming PC

iBuypower RTX 5080 Gaming PC

iBuypower RTX 5090 Gaming PC

Another iBuypower deal to consider from Walmart

You no longer have to pay an egregious sum of money to play games at a consistently solid framerate in glorious 4K resolution. Walmart is currently offering the iBuypower Element Pro gaming PC equipped with an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT GPU for just $1499 with free delivery. This was the best "high-end" gaming PC deal during Prime Day - better than anything I found on Amazon - and it's still the best deal I've seen so far at this price point. The Radeon RX 9070 XT is an outstanding graphics card that can run the latest games (like Battlefield 6) in 4K.

The Amyet V9-G60 1,000W Electric Bike Drops to Under $500 (Compares to Bikes Twice the Cost)

23 août 2025 à 03:00

AliExpress is offering an outstanding deal on a popular entry level electric bike. Right now the Amyet V9-G60 Electric Bike with 1,000W (1,500W peak) motor and 48V 20AH battery is on sale for just $476.55 after you apply $100 off coupon code "AEUS100" during checkout. You're buying it from Amyet's official store on AliExpress. It ships free locally from the United States and arrives within 1 to 2 weeks. You'd be hard pressed to find a new electric bike for under $500 stateside, especially one that has a 1,000W motor (the least expensive bikes cost more and are usually rated for 750W). The same bike is priced at $525 on Amazon, so you'd pay a roughly $50 upcharge buying it form there.

Amyet V9-G60 Electric Bike for $476.55

The Amyet V9-G60 electric bike has a 1,000W (1,500W peak) brushless motor that can push the bike at speeds up to 32MPH. It's powered off a large 48V 20AH (960Whr) battery that provides between 30 to 70 miles on a single charge. An LCD display provides real-time information on your speed, battery level, and more.

The bike's lightweight aluminum frame keeps the weight down to about 77 pounds, which is respectable considering the oversized battery (a 960Whr battery is heavy). The weight limit for this bike is 330 pounds. It uses Shimano components for its 7-speed gear shift system and dual suspension. The 20" wheels are equipped with 4" fat tires, which are versatile on soft or rough terrain and they cushion against imperfections in the road for a more comfortable ruide. Safety features include mechanical dual disc brakes, electric horn, headlights, turn signals, and brake lights.

The bike comes 90% preassembled so you can take it out for a spin in a matter of minutes. It's also pretty mod friendly in case you wanted to do your own upgrades (like swapping to hydraulic brakes). It's covered by a 12 month warranty. The Amyet G60 is definitely an entry level bike that doesn't really compare in build quality to bikes that cost thousands of dollars, but at this price it's a pretty amazing value. Just a year ago you'd be paying $700-$1,000 for the same bike.

One of the Best Nintendo Switch 2 Cases Drops to the Lowest Price Ever on Amazon

23 août 2025 à 02:25

The Tomtomc Slim is easily one of the best Switch 2 cases currently available and many of us use this case ourselves. The only criticism is its steep $40 sticker price. Fortunately, it's on sale today for the lowest price I've seen so far. Amazon has the Tomtoc Slim in black for $29.59. Alternatively, you can get the white or gray colors for $1 extra. With this deal it's less expensive than the official Nintendo Switch 2 case even though it has better build quality.

Tomtoc Slim Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case for $29.59

Tomtoc has a history of making great cases for mobile electronics, including most current gaming handhelds like the original Switch and Switch Lite, Steam Deck, and Asus ROG Ally. Its signature trademark is the raised indent patterning for each handheld's unique analog joystick and button layout. This is mostly an aesthetic touch, but it helps set Tomtoc cases apart from the boring monochrome design you'll see for nearly every other case out there including the official case.

Material-wise, the Tomtoc is a hardshell case with a felt inner lining. It has an interior flap that can fit up to 12 game cards, a buckle strap, and durable YKK zipper that's smoother and easier to use than the Genki Sleeper case. Since this is a slim case designed for as minimal of a footprint as possible, there's no room to fit a charger.

Need something bigger?

If you're looking for something roomier, Tomtoc also has a sling-style case that's specifically made for portable gaming handhelds including the Switch 2. The padded compartment is shaped like a "W" to make room for a wide range of handhelds that have dual analog joysticks. It's not specifically designed for the Switch 2, so don't expect a molded fit, but there's plenty of room here to fit extra controllers, a charger or power bank, and more.

Stock up on more essential Switch 2 accessories

Nintendo Switch 2 orders have shipped and many lucky gamers are playing Mario Kart World as I write this. In addition to a new case, you might want to think about picking up some other Switch 2 accessories, like a MicroSD Express card for extra storage, a screen protector for extra protection, or a power bank for extra battery life. Check out the list of officially licensed Switch 2 accessories that are already up for preorder, including the all-new Switch 2 Pro controller.

The Witcher Tabletop RPG Books Are Only $15 at Humble Bundle Right Now

23 août 2025 à 01:45

There are so many different ways to experience The Witcher these days. My own entry point into this world was playing through the first Witcher game back when it first came out in 2007. But it wasn't until The Witcher 3 that I really felt the depth of the story. I loved exploring the world, playing Gwent, and getting an up close and personal look at Geralt's complicated love life.

I got a similar feeling with the first couple of seasons of The Witcher series on Netflix, but now that Henry Cavill has left the show I find myself mostly just looking forward to the next Witcher game in the franchise. Since that game is still years away, however, I've been recently looking into The Witcher TTRPG as a potential new way to experience that world. It's currently only $15 for a six-book bundle at Humble Bundle and it certainly looks intriguing at that price.

What comes with this bundle

This Witcher TTRPG bundle includes a total of six books. You can get the full bundle by spending $15 or you can choose to pay more and support charity. According to the website, this bundle supports Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Here's all of the digital books included with your purchase:

  • The Witcher TTRPG Core Rulebook
  • The Witcher: A Book of Tales
  • The Witcher: Tome of Chaos
  • The Witcher: A Witcher's Journal
  • The Witcher: Lords & Lands
  • The Witcher TTRPG - Easy Mode

Is The Witcher TTRPG worth playing?

The Witcher Tabletop RPG was created by R. Talsorian Games in collaboration with CD Projekt Red. The core game is set somewhere between The Witcher 2 and The Witcher 3 on the video game timeline. Since I haven't had the chance to play the game myself, I did a bit of digging into reviews and Reddit threads to see if it's worth playing. The most comprehensive review I could find comes from a site called Sprites and Dice. The author goes into a lot of detail about the core rule book and subsequent books available while looking at it through the lens of an experienced D&D player. I recommend checking that out if you need a deeper look at what you'll get with this bundle.

There's also a pretty helpful Reddit thread I found where multiple people have given their thoughts about this TTRPG. A common theme throughout that is that those who actually played it enjoyed it overall. One user complimented the character creation involved while pointing out the imbalances in some of the classes. Basically, if you don't decide to be a Witcher or a Mage you won't get the chance to engage with the full rulebook.

Disclosure: Humble Bundle is part of IGN Entertainment, the division of Ziff Davis that includes GamesIndustry.biz, IGN, and MapGenie.

Save 40% Off the Baseus 10-in-1 Charging Station with USB Ports and AC Outlets

23 août 2025 à 01:40

If your workstation or gaming desk requires more USB ports and AC outlets for charging, here's an inexpensive solution to your problem. Amazon is offering a Baseus 4-Port 6-Outlet Desktop Charging Station for just $29.99 after a 40% off instant discount. Even better, get a free 3.3ft 100W PD USB Type-C cable simply by adding it to the same order (discount shown during checkout). This tabletop charger includes both USB Type-A and Type-C ports as well as AC outlets for the ultimate versatility.

Baseus 4-Port 6-Outlet Desktop Charger for $29.99

Get a free 6ft 100W USB Type-C cable as well

The Baseus charging station is shaped like a cuboid with ports on all four sides. There are a total of ten ports: three USB Type-C ports, one USB Type-A ports, and six AC outlets. The USB ports combine for a total of 67W of total power output. A single USB Type-C port can also deliver this much output. That's enough output to fast charge the Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 (up to 20W), Steam Deck (39W), and Asus ROG Ally (65W). The Asus Rog Ally X and Legion Go support up to 100W, but it's better for the battery to charge at a reduced 65W rate. In fact, they ship with a 65W charger. The Baseus can also fast charge the Apple iPhone 16 (30W) and Samsung Galaxy S25 (up to 45W).

The six AC outlets are ideal for plugging in your printer, desk lamp, monitor, speakers, or anything else that uses a standard two or three prong plug. They're widely spaced apart and positioned on different sides so bulky power bricks won't block every outlet, and the charging station is rated for 1200J of surge protection.

Other practical features include GaN technology (smaller footprint and increased energy efficiency), included sticky adhesive pads so that it won't slide around on your desk, and multiple protection protocols.

The Rare Lenovo Legion 7 RTX 5090 Gaming PC Is in Stock (And on Sale) at Lenovo Direct

23 août 2025 à 00:50

Lenovo just listed a rare Legion gaming PC equipped with a GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card as part of the Intel Gamer Days Sale. Right now you can get a Lenovo Legion Tower 7i Gen 10 gaming PC equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor and RTX 5090 graphics card for $4,554.99 after two stackable coupon codes "EXTRAFIVE" and "BUYMORELENOVO". This is actually the first time I've seen an RTX 5090 gaming PC available on Lenovo's site. It's nearly impossible to find at other retailers like Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, or Newegg as well.

Lenovo Legion Tower 7i Gen 10 RTX 5090 Gaming PC for $4,555

The Legion Tower 7 is Lenovo's top-end desktop computer, boasting a well-ventilated chassis housing six total 120mm fans (including three fans for the 360mm liquid cooling system) to keep your components nice and cool. The system is powered by a generously oversized 1,200W power supply.

This particular configuration features an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor, GeForce RTX 5090 32GB graphics card, a whopping 64GB of DDR5-5600MHz of RAM, and a 2TB PCIe Gen 4 M.2 SSD. The Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor has a max turbo frequency of 5.7GHz with 24 cores and a 40MB L2 cache. According to Passmark, this is Intel's best gaming CPU and really the Intel chip that can compete with AMD's X3D processors. It's paired with 64GB of DDR5 memory.

The RTX 5090 Is the Most Powerful Graphics Card Ever

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 has emerged as the most powerful consumer GPU on the market. Although Nvidia has prioritized software updates, AI features, and DLSS 4 technology to improve gameplay performance, the 5090 still boasts an impressive 25%-30% uplift over the RTX 4090 in terms of pure hardware-based raster performance. The 5090 also has more (32GB vs. 24GB) and faster (GDDR7 vs. GDDR6) VRAM compared to the 4090.

Why Choose Lenovo?

Lenovo Legion gaming PCs and laptops generally feature better build quality than what you'd find from other prebuilt PCs. For desktop PCs in particular, people like the fact that Lenovo does not use proprietary components in its computer systems, so they're easier to upgrade with off-the-shelf parts. Although we haven't yet reviewed the new 2025 models, we have reviewed last year's Legion 7 desktop and really liked its build quality and performance.

Score a Complete Micro PC with CPU, RAM, SSD, and Windows 11 Pro Preinstalled for $130 on Amazon

23 août 2025 à 00:00

If you're a Windows user that's looking for an affordable PC that's as small as the Apple Mac Mini, then check out this deal from Amazon just in time for the Back to School season. Amazon Prime members can pick up the recently released AceMagic Vista Mini V1 Intel N150 Mini PC for just $130.26 shipped after you apply coupon code "SLICKDLV1". You do not need to be an Amazon Prime member. This is an excellent price for a complete PC that comes ready to go out of the box with a CPU, RAM, storage, and even the Windows 11 Pro operating system. AceMagic is a popular mini PC brand.

AceMagic Vista Mini V1 Intel N150 Mini PC for $130.26

The AceMagic Vista is small, really small, measuring 4" x 4" x 1.3". Obviously this limits the gaming capabilities, but the components are certainly good enough to run all of your every day tasks. The mini PC is equipped with an Intel N150 CPU with a max turbo frequency of 3.6GHz with four cores and four threads. It's a very low voltage chip, only using 6W at base power. You'll commonly find it in entry level Chromebooks and home NAS servers. It's paired with 16GB of DDR4 RAM and a 512GB M.2 SSD. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed, however a common suggestion with overseas mini PCs like these is that a fresh OS install is highly recommended to get rid of any bloatware. You will need to re-install the drivers.

There are plenty of connectivity options here. Running down the list, the ports include two USB 3.2 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, one HDMI 2.0 port, one DisplayPort 1.4 port, one 3.5mm audio jack, and one gigabit ethernet jack. It's also equipped with Bluetooth and WiFi 5 (802.11ac) wireless networking.

Here's another similarly priced, similarly spec'd option

The Kamrui Intel N150 Mini PC is also on sale right now for Amazon Prime members for just $136.63 after you apply coupon code "3UDQBYBG". The specs on this mini PC are nearly identical to the AceMagic Vista M1, with the only difference being the case design (even the type of ports and the layout are identical). Kamrui is, in fact, owned by the same parent company as AceMagic.

AceMagic Vista Mini V1 Intel N97 Mini PC for $130.13

If you want something a little more powerful, this model upgrades the N150 to the N97 CPU for just $7 more for Amazon Prime members. The N97 is an older processor than the N150, but it's a bit higher-end in Intel's stack, performing roughly 5%-10% better than the N150 in single and multi-threaded CPU benchmarks. That might not seem like much, but since these tiny processors don't have as much computing power as full-sized variants, every bit of performance matters.

The T-Mobile Metro Phone Plan Offers Unlimited Talk, Text, and 5G Data for Just $25 Per Month

23 août 2025 à 00:00

If you already have a phone that you're happy with, or you're a savvy deal hunter who knows how to find good deals on unlocked phones, then T-Mobile is offering an affordable prepaid plan that includes all of the essential services. Right now you can BYOD (bring your own device) and sign up for T-Mobile's Metro plan, which offers one line of unlimited talk, text, and 5G data for $30 for the first month and $25 per month afterwards with auto-pay. Taxes and fees are already included. You're guaranteed this price for 5 years, although being a prepaid plan, you're free to opt out at any time.

T-Mobile Metro Plan: Unlimited 5G Talk, Text, and Data for $25

If you already have a phone and don't expect to replace it every year or two, T-Mobile's Metro BYOD plan will save you money in the long run. Whereas the Metro plan only costs $25 per month, T-Mobile's least expensive Unlimited plan costs $40 per month and supplies you with a free 5G phone (plus sales tax). You can opt into the higher tier $50/mo plan to be eligible for discounted phone upgrades every 12 months. However that also means you're paying an extra $20-$30 per month - which totals out to an extra $240-$360 per year - on your phone bill. If you can hold onto your phone for at least three years, you could be saving over $1,000 on your bill.

The Metro BYOD plan is attractively priced, but it still offers unlimited talk, text, and data. You are also connected to the T-Mobile network, now the best 5G network in the nation. Note that speeds may slow if you go over a soft cap of greater than 35GB per month. In addition, you get perks like Scam Shield, which enables Caller ID and blocks or redirects spam calls, and T-Mobile Tuesdays, a program that gives you access to freebies and exclusive discounts every Tuesday.

Note that some exclusions apply. See details at MbyTMO.com.

We Visited Disney World's Pirates of the Caribbean-Themed Beak and Barrel Tavern and Here's What We Thought

22 août 2025 à 23:34

IGN was invited to get a sneak peek at the Pirates of the Caribbean-themed Beak and Barrel tavern, which is set to open at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom on August 29, and we thought it was a labor of love that honors the iconic attraction in a wonderful way.

As soon as you enter The Beak and Barrel, you feel as though you've entered the world of Pirates of the Caribbean. Much like the Haunted Mansion Parlor aboard the Disney Treasure (and soon the Disney Destiny!), these spaces feel like an extension of the attraction in the best ways.

Yo Ho, Yo Ho, a Pirate's Life For Me

And all the little details! Fans of Pirates of the Caribbean - both the attraction and the movies - will want to be on the lookout for plentiful Easter Eggs, callbacks, and even props from the films. While you won't see him in the tavern yet, as he is in debt to the owner of Beak and Barrel and doesn't want to get caught, Jack Sparrow can be seen on one of the four Captains' Booths, which regale tales of pirates' past via carved wooden panels.

Speaking of the owner, her name is Captain Meridian "Merry" Goldwyn, and she has left her first mate, a parrot Audio-Animatronic named Rummy, who is serving as the tavern's quartermaster while she is gone. What makes Rummy special is that he was inspired very much by the original Barker Bird that appeared in both Disneyland and Disney World's Pirates of the Caribbean attractions.

Rummy will appear from time to time above the Cursed Bar and will add context to the events that happen every 10 minutes or so. When we were there, we got to see both a musical attack of sorts by Mermaids/Sirens that lit up the room in cool colors, and Rummy and the cast members instructed us to cover our ears so we would not be persuaded by their song.

He'll also bicker with Kat the Black Cat, who has quickly become a favorite of mine. This adorable feline is sleeping above the door and comes complete with gold hoops in her ears. She doesn't move much as she is in a very cozy bed and loves to sleep, but you can see her breathing and her tail moving every once in a while. In a word: perfection.

The Cursed Bar itself is a sight to behold, as part of it is shaped like a skull. There are secrets to be found inside that skull as well, as Tia Dalma (Who was played by Naomi Harris in the films), gifted the tavern an ornate and enchanted bottle of Rum that is said to ensure the tavern's barrels and the pirates' cheer will never run dry as long as it stays full. In another one of the activations, the rum did disappear (In my mind, all I heard was Jack Sparrow screaming "Why's the rum gone?!") and panic ensued. Fortunately, the crew was able to bring it back.

Right in front of the bar is The Mess, which was named that way because it used to be a mess hall for Spanish soldiers before the pirates came in and took over the place. A few cool details to notice in The Mess are the bell above the door by the cat that was a gift given to Merry from Captain Redd's first ship and the anchor above the table that serves as a fitting chandelier.

To the right as you enter the Beak and Barrel is the Captains' Quarters, which is where the booths we talked about earlier are. This used to be the residence of the Spanish Comandante, so it has a bit of a fancier feel than the other rooms with its grand artwork and such. Oh, and it also has a cozy fireplace with miniature ships in bottles that are said to engage in battles from time to time.

Tucked in the corner of the Captains' Quarters is a private-ish sitting room where pirates love to play games of skill and chance. You can see some of the games pirates played alongside a warning to those who may try to cheat.

This is where we were seated for the 45-minute preview we had, and it's a really great area if you don't care too much about missing some of the fun happening in the main area. It is behind some walls and tucked in a corner, and it looks to be a great place for friends and family who want a quieter place as it can get loud in The Beak and Barrel with the fantastic cast members playing up their roles as rowdy pirates.

The Beak and Barrel is a big space, and I do think your experience may vary a bit depending on where you sit, so I think it's important to go in with that in mind! Don't worry though, as you can obviously get up and see things as they are happening, and there are plenty of cues to tell you when something is about to go down.

The last main area is the Mapmaker's Room, and this features a massive table that now serves as a shared standing table for guests. The prior mapmaker was said to be a bit crazed, and the other pirates even needed to shoot down a wall with a canon to get in once he locked everyone else out. In fact, the canon ball is still stuck in the wall for all to see!

Another small detail I love in that room is that there is a treasure map on the wall, and the X on the map seemingly points to a pretty magical place in Florida.

Food and Drink

Considering this is a tavern, there obviously needs to be themed food and drinks, and the team behind The Bark and Barrel took that challenge to heart. We were able to speak to Stephanie Dold, Beverage Director at Walt Disney World, and Bobby Rivera, Chef De Cuisine, and they shared how their teams kept the story going in their creations.

"From the beverage perspective, we really leaned in on the spice trade and different things that you would find throughout the different areas that pirates may have sailed," Dold said. "We wanted to bring that to life, and I think that you'll find that we did through the different beverages that we have on the menu."

"Our mission was to match the beverage programming with international flavors, while also staying true to the themeing and where the story takes place in the world," Rivera said. "We really worked on honing in on those flavors, that's why you have the plantains, coconut, chipotle, and the octopus. Those are very familiar flavors for where we are and we think the exciting flavors will be a hit for our guests."

I asked them which menu items we should be on the lookout for, and Dold said hers was the Siren's Whisper. This drink has a "captivating blue color and promises of eternal youth" and it combines Pot & Column Still White Rum with citrus and spice. The drink, which was inspired by the Fountain of Youth, is also topped with a special siren tear.

"The Siren's Whisper is not something that we've done previously, and you probably wouldn't expect to find it at the Beak and Barrel," Dold said. "However, the elegance of the glassware and where the story came from and how they acquired that piece is just tremendous."

On the food side, Rivera recommended the Kraken's Catch, which very well may be the most notable item to come from the preview of the food offerings as it has an octopus tentacle sticking out of it. Accompanying that tentacle that's marinated in lemon and lime juice are olives, bell peppers, avocado, and Piquillo pepper-almond foam.

"There's an iconic scene in Pirates of the Caribbean lore where the Kraken comes out of the deep sea and does some Kraken stuff, so we really tried to represent that in the dish," Rivera said.

We weren't able to try these, but we did get to try the Cursed Treasure, the Island Provisions, and the Treasure Trove.

The Cursed Treasure is a non-alcholoic beverage that is a blend of coconut milk and cookie crumbs, and it is topped with vanilla foam and a Pirate's Gold cookie thing. Now, this is where we get to my favorite part of The Beak and Barrel and I'm not even kidding - the cups were SO COLD. I don't know what kind of pirate magic was going on in that place, but I've never had such a chilled cup and it was honestly life changing.

Ok, anyway. The drink itself was refreshing, if a bit boring! It kind of tasted like water with a hint of cookies and cream!

Next up were the Island Provisions, which is a combo of plantain chips, blue corn tortillas, toasted flatbread, and Mango Chutney, Garlic Chimichurri, Spiced Guava, and Zesty Culantro Cream Dips. This was a fun dish to share and the Mango Chutney with the plantains were definitely my favorite, but they were all good!

Lastly, we ended with the Treasure Trove, which was a Vanilla Cake Plank, Chocolate Cannonball, and Golden Caramel Popcorn. This was served with a "mysterious Ube, Lemon, and Coconut concoction" in the immaculate chilled cups and was a really fun end to our adventure that honors pirates in a great way.

The Beak and Barrel Is a Space For Pirates of All Ages

Alongside all the themeing and fun food and drinks on offer at The Beak and Barrel, what the team also went out of their way to stress to me is how much this experience is for pirates of all ages. Sure, it may seem like a rough and rowdy tavern fit for ne'er-do-wells, but in reality it's meant for the whole family to come and enjoy Pirates of the Caribbean in a whole new way.

"I think what's important for us is that entire families are able to experience our stories so you're not just riding through an attraction in a passive way, but you get to spend some actual time in this world as well," Ken Ricci, Executive Creative Development at Walt Disney Imagineering told me. "And again, it's great for adults, but it's really wonderful for kids too. We wanted to make sure it was something that was inclusive of everyone."

Sure, it may seem like a rough and rowdy tavern fit for ne'er-do-wells, but in reality, it's meant for the whole family to come and enjoy Pirates of the Caribbean in a whole new way.

This place is also meant to be a space guests return to time and time again, as the team specifically created "moments that extend beyond the amount of time you're going to be here." The team hopes you will take something new with you each time you enter The Beak and Barrel's doors.

Time will tell how easy it will be to visit The Beak and Barrel once its open on August 29, as it is sure to be a very popular space. Guests are limited to just 45 minutes in the tavern, so hopefully that will help in getting as many people as possible in.

I'm just so, so happy places like the Haunted Mansion Parlor and Beak and Barrel exist because they are such a great way to immerse ourselves in the stories we love so much. I hope this trend continues, as Beak and Barrel is another example of treasure worth searching for.

Every Cartoon Network Show Removed From HBO Max and Where You Can Still Watch Them

22 août 2025 à 23:30

Now that HBO is back in the name, the Max streaming service is calling "takesies backsies" on its family entertainment plans. At this stage, the strategy shift seems to mean removing a lot of childhood favorites, particularly those it had hosted through Cartoon Network, a channel also owned by Warner Bros. These removals are particularly heart-wrenching as Cartoon Network's own streaming site was shut down and redirected to HBO Max last August.

As someone who grew up watching plenty of these shows on cable, I personally didn’t realize how much I missed some of them until I found out I couldn’t watch them anymore. If you're anything like me and want to take a trip down memory lane, here's a breakdown of the Cartoon Network shows HBO Max has removed in the past year and how you can still watch them.

Every Cartoon Network Show Removed From HBO Max in the Past Year

Unfortunately, a decent chunk of the removed Cartoon Network library is no longer streaming on any service. The only way to watch these series online is by buying or renting individual episodes through marketplaces like Prime Video. As such, I've also listed out physical media alternatives where available, even for shows that are still streaming, because nowadays that's the only way to make sure you have your favorite show forever.

A couple of the more recent series are still available to stream on Hulu or Disney+. These services are functionally becoming the same thing starting next year, making their current bundle one of the best bets for cartoon streaming.

The Purge Isn’t Limited to Cartoon Network

The animation purge arguably started back in 2022, with the original Warner Bros. and Discovery merger leading to HBO Max losing Infinity Train, OK GO, and Close Enough. While Cartoon Network has borne the brunt of removals since, Warner Bros. Animation has also been hit with the recent removals of classic Looney Tunes cartoons as well as the series Static Shock.

The Amazon Labor Day Sale for 2025 Is Now Live With Early Weekend Deals

22 août 2025 à 23:30

The Amazon Labor Day sale has arrived a whole week early. If you're looking to do some shopping this weekend, these deals make it a great time to save money. Although Labor Day sales aren't as good as the bigger shopping holidays like Prime Day or Black Friday, these discounts are still some of the best you'll find all year. With U.S. tariffs still going into effect this summer, it's unlikely that prices are going to get any better. So with that in mind, it's definitely worth saving money on purchases whenever you can.

Amazon's sale has some great discounts on things you need and things you want right now, but not everything listed as a Labor Day deal is actually a good deal. You can dive right into the official sale page below, or scroll down further to see some of the best discounts I could find.

Amazon Labor Day Sale 2025 - The Best Deals So Far

There are a ton of items listed on Amazon's Labor Day sale page, but I dug a little bit deeper to find the overall best deals. Everything on this list is either at its lowest price ever, lowest price in 2025, or is a special promotion that Amazon is running concurrently with its Labor Day offerings. I made use of CamelCamelCamel, the popular price tracker, to make sure everything listed here is truly a good deal.

The most enticing deal I could find is a discount on a Magic: The Gathering bundle. The Final Fantasy crossover has been extremely popular so far and this is one of the first discounts we've seen on anything from that set. We actually covered this deal earlier this week when it went live, so it's unclear how much longer it will last.

The next deal worth mentioning are a couple of ongoing promotions that Amazon has running right now. There's a book deal that lets you save $5 when you spend $25 on select books and box sets. This includes popular novels like Project Hail Mary as well as entire Lord of the Rings book sets. This promotion will likely stick around through Labor Day considering it coincides with Barnes & Noble's annual Book Haul sales event.

If you're looking to save on everyday essentials, there's also a special promotion going on now that gives you a $15 credit when you spend $50 or more on select items. This includes things like toilet paper, trash bags, hand soap, plastic wrap and other household items. The credit will only apply to future Amazon purchases, but it's definitely worth browsing if you need to stock up on some things for your home.

Finally, the last few deals I want to highlight are on some fun items that don't get discounted that often. The most notable discount in this area is the LEGO Hogwarts Castle and Grounds set. It's a recreation of the castle from Harry Potter and has dropped back down to its lowest price ever for Labor Day. Then there are the two tabletop deals, The Mistborn board game and a 1000 piece puzzle. I covered this board game deal earlier this week and it's a great buy for any fans of Brandon Sanderson's book series of the same name. The puzzle I've featured here is also from one of the overall best puzzle brands. Both of these are currently at the lowest prices we've ever seen for either one.

What should you buy during Labor Day sales?

In general, everything goes on sale during Labor Day weekend. That being said, this isn't necessarily the best time to buy everything just because it has a fresh discount plastered on it. If you're looking for some general advice about what products are likely to have the biggest price drops, I've put together a quick list of what to look for. Each of these product categories featured below tend to get some of the best discounts during this time every year as Labor Day coincides with back-to-school season.

  • Furniture
  • Appliances
  • Laptops & PCs
  • TVs
  • Mattresses
  • Clothing & Shoes
  • Grills
  • Books
  • School Supplies

Should You Shop Now or Wait for Black Friday?

Historically, Labor Day sales are not even close to the same level as Black Friday. This is true on Amazon and at pretty much every other major retailer. That being said, 2025 has been a bit of an outlier so far in terms of prices. The ongoing U.S. tariffs have continued to cause uncertainty, and we're already seeing the impact of that on things like recent gaming console price increases. So while Black Friday will still most likely have bigger savings, it doesn't hurt to get some shopping in now while things are discounted.

In general, right now is probably one of the best times of the year to buy a laptop, mattress, or just about any furniture. So you can likely feel good about any discounts you find in those areas as long as you do some price research first. A lot of the clothing deals we see during Labor Day sales are also unlikely to be around during November as retailers try to dump summer clothes at a discount during this time.

I'd still suggest waiting for Black Friday to come around before you try to make any really big purchases. Despite all of the uncertainty around price increases, this will still be the time when retailers bring out their best discount to compete for your business.

This $70 Smart Desktop Air Purifier Is an Effective Way to Keep Your Gaming PC Dust-Free

22 août 2025 à 23:30

Amazon is offering a great deal on a compact air purifier that would be great for your workstation or gaming desk area. Right now, you can get a Levoit 200S-P HEPA Smart Air Purifier for just $69.99 with free delivery after a $20 off coupon you can clip on the product page. This little purifier is meant to be placed on a desktop or by your bedside and filters the air in its immediate area. However, it can serve yet another very practical purpose for PC gamers: It minimizes the dust going into your gaming PC and reduces the frequency that you need to clean it out.

Levoit 200S-P HEPA Smart Air Purifier $69.99

The Levoit 200S-P purifier measures only 8"x8"x12". It's officially rated for 104 square feet of space (like a bedroom, office, or gaming den), but for best results I would sit it right next to where you occupy the most, like on your desktop or next to your bed. The three-stage filtration system includes a pre-filter for larger particles, HEPA-type filter for particles as small as 0.1 microns, and a carbon filter for odor removal.

If you've owned a purifier before, you're probably aware that the real cost of a purifier lies in the cost of filter replacements. Fortunately, the replacements for this purifier aren't too expensive. For example, right now a 2-pack of filters costs about $19 and should be replaced every 8 months. This pack will reasonably last you about one and a half years, which equates to a very inexpensive cost of $1.19 per month.

The Levoit 200S-P also has smart functionality. It can wirelessly connect to an app on your smartphone, where you can change settings, set up schedules, and receive reminders for filter changes. That's common nowadays in purifiers, but generally I see this feature in models that are much more expensive.

An air purifier near your desk can keep your gaming PC cleaner as well

A proper gaming PC has plenty of airflow, and that air is inevitably going to bring in a lot of dust. The most common way of dealing with this is to install air filters in front of the intake fans. I personally do not like using filters. They reduce the amount of airflow going in and that progressively worsens as the filters get clogged. Proper maintenance eliminates that issue, but let's be honest: Most gamers don't clean out their case often enough.

I've personally done away with fan filters entirely. Instead, I stick my bedroom air purifier right next to my gaming PC so that the purifier's exhaust flows right into the intake vents on my PC. Despite having no filters, I blow out my case only once a year and even then it's really just a fine layer of dust that has accumulated. Of course, the additional side benefit (and the main benefit for most people) is that it also filters the air I'm breathing in.

The Division 2 Brought Back the Series' Original Creative Director for Its New Survivors Extraction Experience

22 août 2025 à 22:30

Ubisoft is keeping Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 updates coming with the announcement of a new survival extraction experience called Survivors.

The team behind the long-running third-person shooter talked about how it plans to keep the sequel chugging along for at least another year during a gamescom 2025 panel livestream and in a blog post published on its website. It comes with a roadmap for the next few months of content, including a promise to keep players in the loop as development continues.

The Division 2: Survivors is the real headline here, though. Ubisoft calls the new content “an updated take on the survival extraction experience” that is currently “in the early stages” of development. Aiding as creative director for Survivors is Magnus Jansén, who previously served as creative director on the original The Division. During today’s gamescom panel, he confirmed that, after a few years away from the franchise, he’s “back” and “working on something very, very exciting.”

...a hint to, maybe, the biggest new thing we’re doing is right there in the name.

“As some of you had already figured out, the wintery, survival extraction experience is coming to The Division 2,” Jansén said. “I know some of you are, like me, fans of the survival mode that we had in the first Division, and obviously, we think that those of you who like that, will be very, very happy, but it’s more than a remake. We are doing cool, new things.”

He admits there’s little else to reveal, considering The Division 2: Survivors is so early in development. However, Jansén does have one note to leave fans with: “But what I will say, and this is like a teaser, is that a hint to, maybe, the biggest new thing we’re doing is right there in the name.”

“So, I’ll just leave that there, and then I’ll be back next year,” he added.

We’ll have to wait at least a few months to get a first look at The Division 2: Survivors. It’s release date on the roadmap is currently listed as “TBA,” so don’t expect its arrival until later in 2026 at the earliest. However, Ubisoft did provide eager fans with a first look at concept art (above), which may offer more hints about some of the scenarios players can find themselves in when Survivors eventually launches.

"The Division 2: Survivors is as much your baby as it is ours, and we strive for transparency during its development,” executive producer Julian Gerighty said in a statement. “Clear communication and community involvement are a focus as we build the new experience, and we will be closely involving you as we move forward on the development journey.”

The Division Resurgence

Also included in today’s gamescom The Division announcements was an update on Ubisoft’s upcoming free-to-play mobile RPG MMO, The Division Resurgence. Closed test phases for iOS and Android users will begin this September, with Ubisoft pushing interested players to sign up here.

“The Division Resurgence takes players back to the streets of Manhattan, set several months after the conclusion of the Division 1,” an official description for the mobile spinoff says. “With a familiar map updated to reflect the passage of time, the Division Resurgence will bridge the narrative gap between the Division 1 and 2, adding to the existing lore with additional story beats over time.”

To encourage additional feedback from fans, Ubisoft is pushing players to sign up for its Elite Task Force program. The publisher’s message calls it “an opportunity for our most committed players to engage directly with our development team and assist in guiding the future of the Division.”

The Division 2 will launch its next season, The Pact, September 9, 2025. While we wait to learn more about it, Survivors, and Resurgence, you can read our original The Division 2 8.5/10 review from 2019.

Get a 2-Pack of Baseus 65W USB Type-C Wall Chargers for Just $30, Plus Get a Free USB Cable

22 août 2025 à 22:30

From portable gaming handhelds to smartphones, our lives rely on portable, untethered electronics more than ever before, and that means we can never have too many chargers on hand. Fortunately, this deal will get you two very capable chargers at a really low price. Amazon is currently offering a two-pack of Baseus 65W USB Type-C wall chargers for just $29.99 with no code required. That's just $15 per charger block. You can also get a free USB Type-C cable simply by adding it to the same order. These chargers are compact by design but have plenty of ports and enough power output to fast charge most portable electronics.

2-Pack Baseus 65W USB Wall Chargers for $29.99

Add both items to the same order to get the cable for free

The Baseus wall charger is very compact thanks to its use of gallium nitride (GaN) instead of the more common silicon for its semiconductor material. This makes the charger smaller, faster, and more energy-efficient than a traditional charger. The plug can also fold out of the way so that it doesn't get damaged during travel.

There are a total of three ports: two USB Type-C ports capable of 65W of power output each, and a USB Type-A port capable of 60W. Note that the maximum charging output is 65W. That means although all three ports add up to a total of 190W, only a maximum of 65W will be delivered across all ports if more than one is used simultaneously. This throttling is actually a good thing; charging at 190W would generate a ton of heat and you'd need a much bigger charger to handle it.

65W output is higher than what I see in most chargers at this price point and is capable enough to charge most portable electronics out there at their fastest rate. This includes the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, most gaming handheld PCs like the Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally, the Apple iPhone 16, the Samsung Galaxy S25, and more. For a charger this small, you'd be hard pressed to find a higher output. If you do need more power, Baseus does also have a 100W variant, but it is bigger and you only get one charger for the same price.

Save Over $850 Off Lenovo's Newest Legion Pro 5 Gaming Laptop with OLED Display and RTX 5070 GPU

22 août 2025 à 21:30

Lenovo just listed an excellent deal on a Legion Pro laptop as part of the Intel Gamer Days Sale. Right now you can get a Lenovo Legion Pro 5 Gen 10 gaming laptop, equipped with a 16" OLED display and RTX 5070 GPU, for just $1,444.99 after you apply two coupon codes "GAMERDAYS25" and "BUYMORELENOVO". That's a total of $855 in savings. It's equipped with plenty of extra upgrades like an OLED display and 32GB of memory.

Lenovo Legion Pro 5 Gen 10 RTX 5070 Gaming Laptop for $1,445

The Lenovo Legion Pro 5 series is a higher-end model featuring an aluminum top and durable plastic bottom. It weighs in at about 5.6 pounds. The gorgeous 16" OLED display has a 2.5K 189ppi resolution, 240Hz refresh rate, HDR 1000 True Black certification, and 100% DCI-P3 color range. This particular configuration is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX CPU, Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 GPU, 32GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and a 1TB SSD. The Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX has a max turbo frequency of 5.1GHz with 16 total cores. According to PassMark, the Core Ultra 7 255HX is Intel's third best mobile gaming chip sitting just below the two Core Ultra 9 models.

The GeForce RTX 5070 is 5%-10% better than the RTX 4070

The mobile RTX 5070 GPU performs about 5%-10% better than the RTX 4070 that it replaces. That's not a very big generational improvement, but the RTX 5070 also supports multi-frame generation, which means the margin will widen in games that support DLSS 4.0. It should have enough power to run most games at a comfortable framerate on the display's enhanced 2560x1600 resolution. If you want a significantly better performing Nvidia GPU, the next step up is the RTX 5070 Ti GPU. While it does offer a pretty reasonable performance upgrade, prepare to pay hundreds of dollars more.

Peacemaker, Season 2: Lets Talk About That Dead Character's Return

22 août 2025 à 21:14

Be warned: Full spoilers ahead for the first episode of Peacemaker, Season 2!

Peacemaker: Season 2 sees its title character discover a parallel dimension where everything is going his way – or at least it is for that dimension’s Chris Smith (John Cena). Peacemaker is a beloved superhero who fights crime alongside two characters who are deceased in Chris’ home dimension: his father Auggie (Robert Patrick) and his big brother Kevin (David Denman).

In this dimension, the Smiths are an affluent family where Chris has a loving relationship with his doting dad and he never accidentally killed Keith as a child. They all serve together as the celebrated superheroes known as The Top Trio. As Chris says to himself at one point, “Best. Dimension. Ever.”

But the main Chris is also living a lie after he accidentally kills his variant self in the season premiere and then assumes his identity in order to enjoy the life he’s far from having in his own dimension.

I recently chatted with actor David Denman (Brightburn, The Office) about his role as the parallel dimension’s Keith Smith and how that Peacemaker evolved in a world where he’s had his big brother his whole life. (This interview has been edited for clarity.)

IGN: How did the Keith Smith who lived shape that dimension's Chris Smith’s character?

David Denman: In that universe, that Chris is a bit troubled too. I'll try to figure out how much we reveal or not, but he tends to party a little too hard. He's not as responsible as he could be and should be. And so Keith is trying to protect him and cover for him and be that supportive older brother like, get your act together kind of thing. So I think that because in this alternate universe things are different in here. We're celebrated. We're saving the day and we're considered heroes. That's such a departure from the opposite of where he's coming from in the real world.

We play that Chris from the real world coming into our dimension is a different guy, but he's saying things and we're like, what? And mostly Keith just sort of throws it off with, "You're so weird dude, like what's your deal?" But he has no reason to not know. So he doesn't realize what's happening.

IGN: It's such a complete night and day difference in how these Smith sons turned out. Is it a nature versus nurture kind of thing?

Denman: Yeah, a hundred percent. I think that James [Gunn, the writer-showqrunner] is playing with those things. Peacemaker's trauma in Season 1 is this grief. And the one guy who was the only guy that was looking out for him and protecting was his older brother and dealing in that house with that horrible father that they had. What could Chris have become if Keith hadn't died? Would Keith have ever been able to step up and save him from his father or would he have become a product of his father and would they have been that? So I don't know because we don't get to know Keith past 10 years-old or whatever he is when he passes.

So in this universe, I don't know that it necessarily explained how they became that. It's just that we are in a whole different universe. So from the get-go, all of the dynamics are slightly different. As you can see, we're heroes here. We're revered in our society and our community as heroes.

IGN: How would Keith as a superhero deal with a foe like Brightburn? Could he beat him in a fight?

Denman: Whoo. No, because that Brightburn kid has got laser beams for eyes and he would probably end up with the same demise as his father did in that thing. But I could fly around with him. We could do a little fighting and maybe my mask I have ... I'm sure that helmets probably got some sort of protection from the laser beams, but I don't know. I don't know.

Replaced Is a Beautiful, Brilliant 2.5D Cyberpunk Thriller | gamescom 2025

22 août 2025 à 21:02

When you’ve played video games long enough, you eventually develop something of a “Spidey Sense” when you see a game that seems like it’s going to be extra special. You never know until the final product is on your hard drive, of course, but more often than not, that sixth sense is correct.

Replaced, a 2.5D action-adventure game drenched in an absolutely stunning sci-fi cyberpunk pixel-art aesthetic – complete with incredible camera work and moody music – is making that Spidey Sense tingle. I’d already played a brief three-part demo over a year ago, which only reinforced that feeling I first got after the initial reveal four years ago. This time I got to play the first 30 or so minutes of the campaign, and it did nothing to dampen my enthusiasm for what could be – if the rest of the game delivers – an all-time indie classic in the same category as Limbo, Braid, Inside, Balatro, etc.

Right from the jump it’s obvious that Replaced’s art director knows what the heck they’re doing. The look of this dystopia, set in an alternate-history 1980s America, takes the 16-bit graphics I grew up with and plusses them up with soft dynamic lighting and some absolutely brilliant cinematography. Toss in just the right amount of depth of field and you get a world that looks lived-in. It oozes griminess and despair but somehow makes them look gorgeous.

Replaced is set in an alternate-history 1980s America and takes the 16-bit graphics I grew up with and plusses them up with soft dynamic lighting and some absolutely brilliant cinematography.

You play as R.E.A.C.H., an AI that lives in the body of a man named Warren, who wakes up after having been literally left for dead amongst a pile of corpses. The world of Phoenix City you see before you is the evolution of a worldwide nuclear event that occurred several decades prior. There are diaries, news articles, and other ephemeral bits of world-building information scattered around for you to collect and read in your Wingman – think of it as this cyberpunk world’s version of a 1980’s Walkman-meets-Palm-Pilot.

Replaced starts simply enough, keeping you on a left-to-right 2D plane, old-school-style, and having you do little more than some basic platforming. But it establishes its setting so amazingly well – and quickly to boot. Whether it’s the aforementioned digital clippings revealing pieces of the radiation-coated backstory or the searchlight-wielding snipers who will gun you down in one shot if they spot you, things are clearly grim in Phoenix City. Before long you’ll have to fight to survive, as you’ll be forced to throw hands with a couple of faction members and soon entire gangs of them.

And that’s where Replaced will next impress you: it’s packing a proper Batman: Arkham combat system. Enemies who are about to attack will get a yellow lightning bolt over their heads. Press Y when you see that to instantly counter them. And then – my fellow Arkham veterans know where this is going – when a red lightning bolt appears over a foe’s head, that means they’re about to unleash an unblockable/uncounter-able attack, and you need to press the A button at just the right moment in order to dodge-roll away. Successful dodges and parries charge up a special-attack meter, which in Replaced’s case, means you get to either fire a shot from your found firearm at distance, or brutally execute an enemy if you’re at point-blank range. Of course, it’ll get more complicated; before long rifle-wielding bad guys will enter the fray, and the timing window changes on their (obviously) unblockable bullets. Enemy heavies will complicate things too. There was just one in the opening minutes of Replaced, and, probably by design, he wasn’t too tough to tango with. All of his attacks are unblockable, and he takes a ton of hits to bring down, but he didn’t have friends left by the time we faced off, so it was a very straightforward introduction to the higher-hit-point heavies you’ll face off against later in the game. So I expect the fisticuffs to ramp up significantly over the course of Replaced’s runtime in every sense of the word: number of enemies, difficulty, etc.

Soon Replaced began introducing the 2.5D elements, literally expanding its world by letting me walk to the background or foreground to get something I needed to progress onwards. You’ll need to grab onto dumpsters to slide them around in order to climb up on them to reach a higher ladder, or to bridge a gap, just as one example. While this opening sequence didn’t offer me too much freedom of movement within the environment, I know it eventually will, because I’ve seen it before in last year’s demo. I should add, though, that exploring will sometimes reward you with pickups that are often tucked out of plain sight – I won’t go so far as to call them secrets – and they’ll fill out your dossier and shed a little bit more light on this broken world, or give you an upgrade. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that Replaced is going to have replayability, per se, but if the developers do an awesome enough job at building out the backstory of Phoenix City, that might deliver enough motivation to want to go back and find all of the hidden bits of information.

Replaces is packing a proper Batman: Arkham combat system.

This year’s demo – again, since it was the very beginning of the game – also didn’t show off the biggest pleasant surprise from my initial hands-on with it last year: the RPG hiding under its 2.5D cyberpunk aesthetic. From the first couple of extremely impressive trailers, I’d thought that Replaced was “just” a side-scrolling action-adventure game. But no, it’s got sections packed with quest-giving NPCs and the ability to free-roam the area. I absolutely can’t wait to dig into more of this.

But getting back to this newest slice of Replaced, I should take a moment to compliment the music. A moody synth soundtrack is key to nailing the vibe in any dystopian cyberpunk piece of media, and Replaced wastes no time confirming it understands the assignment in that department. And I’d actually like to get back to the visual identity of this game for a second as well. The pixel art, as you can already tell, is phenomenal, and the use of color and lighting is top-shelf, but I’d also like to shout out the animation. I’m not sure if this will make sense, but in attempting a retro look complemented by modern visual touches like in Replaced, there is such a thing as the animation being too good. I would argue that the development team at Sad Cat Studios has struck a perfect balance here. Neither R.E.A.C.H. nor his enemies move too smoothly. Instead, they have a slightly stilted movement to them, which only adds to the broken, beat-down spirit of Phoenix City, and it sells the neo-16-bit look even more perfectly, in my eyes.

When I reached the end of the demo build of Replaced, all I wanted was to play more. It is simply a captivating game from top to bottom, and I can’t wait to see where R.E.A.C.H.’s story goes as well as what the deeper plot reveals. I’m also eager to find out how much deeper the combat and RPG elements specifically go. I’d love nothing more than for my Spidey Sense to prove correct and for Replaced to be one of the best and most memorable games of 2026 (even if we already know that Grand Theft Auto 6 will dominate the headlines). We don’t have a release date for Replaced quite yet, but I get the sense that it’s close. Hopefully we’ll soon find out exactly when we can see just how special the final game is.

We Build the LEGO Going Merry Pirate Ship from 'One Piece'

22 août 2025 à 20:46

If there's one thing that LEGO knows how to design really well, it's ships. Some of their most involved, most sophisticated builds have been ships. The LEGO Titanic set a high bar for historical re-creation in 2021, and the LEGO Endurance confirmed that high bar in 2024.

But LEGO also designs fictional boats extremely well. The longstanding LEGO Pirate Ship has been on sale since June 2020, and it is still one of LEGO's finest sets. And this set – a recreation of the Going Merry Pirate Ship from Netflix's 'One Piece' – continues that trend. Ship captain Monkey D. Luffy is an unconventional pirate captain, and this LEGO model accurately captures his innocent, whimsical approach to life. It is the friendliest looking pirate ship I've ever seen, with rounded-off angles, chunky decorations and hidden treasures below deck.

The set consists of 10 bags and one small sheet of stickers. First, you build the bottom of the boat, which includes the ship's galley and quarters. You don't know it yet, but you're also building the hollowed-out areas where you will eventually place hidden crates and the upper decks of the ship, which slide in easily to create a seamless, singular structure. The ship has the ethos of one of LEGO's modular buildings – you can easily take it apart and put it back together for better interactivity.

The set is filled with small details and nods to the show. There's a pizza in the galley for Monkey to eat. There's a massive sheep figurehead hanging off the ship's fore. There's Nami's tangerine trees at its aft. There's a collection of Wanted posters below deck. Four random ones come with this set; there are eight collectible posters in total.

Last are the masts, plus a massive sail decorated with a straw hat-wearing Jolly Roger. The riggings, rather than being the thin, black thread of LEGO's more traditional ship models, are plastic cords that give the impression of rope. This allows for plenty of swashbuckling photo opportunities, and the same goes for the rest of the ship. The ship is wide enough, with enough exposed LEGO studs on its deck, to create elaborate scenes.

Aiding in this effort is the minifigure inclusion of Season's 1 entire five-person pirate crew. This is not one of those 'gacha' situations where they spread the main characters out over a number of sets, pressuring you to spend more. You get Monkey D. Luffy (with his signature straw hat), Zoro (with his three swords), Nami (with her bo staff), Usopp (with his slingshot) and Sanji. My favorite is Zoro, whose third sword comes with an attachment that allows him to 'hold' it in his mouth.

LEGO One Piece is the latest franchise to emerge from the LEGO/Netflix partnership. It is based on the live-action Netflix adaptation of the same name, which is itself based on the long-running manga that launched in 1997. The initial LEGO One Piece launch consists of two Brickheadz (one of Monkey T. Luffy, the other of Buggy the Clown) and five large sets.

The Going Merry Pirate Ship is the flagship set (pun intended) of the bunch. It's a simple, straightforward build, with a cartoonish look that makes it appear more plucky than imposing; it's befitting of the ragtag misfits that sail under its banner. And assuming there will be future LEGO/Netflix One Piece sets (the original anime is in its 21st season and still going strong), this set – like the Season 1 that inspired it – makes a good first impression and promises great things to come.

LEGO One Piece Going Merry Pirate Ship, Set #75639, retails for $139.99, and it is composed of 1376 pieces. It is available now at Amazon and the LEGO Store.

Double Your PlayStation 5 Storage for Under $50

22 août 2025 à 20:30

AliExpress is offering a rare 1TB PS5-compatible SSD for under $50, which I haven't seen for months. Right now you can pick up an Orico i7500 1TB PCIe Gen 4 M.2 Solid State Drive for just $48.23 after you apply a $10 off coupon code "AEUS10" during checkout. This is a PS5-compatible SSD with speeds well above Sony's minimum recommendation of 5,600MB/s and the proper form factor to drop right into the PS5's drive bay. You could probably get away with no heatsink on a 1TB SSD stick for your PS5, but you can just as easily find a PS5 heatsink for well under $10.

The Orico brand isn't as immediately recognizable as Samsung or WD, but this drive in particular has racked up enough positive feedback for me to feel comfortable recommending it. You're also buying it from Orico's official store on AliExpress so you don't have to worry about shady aftermarket resellers. It ships free locally from the United States and arrives within 1 to 2 weeks. Amazon has a similar 1TB model for $63.

Orico 1TB M.2 SSD (PS5-Compatible) for $48.23

The Orico e7400 SSD meets all the requirements for your PS5 upgrade. This is a PCIe Gen4 x4 SSD with an M.2 2280 form factor and transfer speeds of up to 7,400MB/s read and 6,100MB/s write which is well above the 5,600MB/s minimum threshold. Like most high-speed SSDs in this price range, the i7500 is a DRAM-less SSD that instead uses a combination of HMB technology and pseudo-SLC caching. Gamers shouldn't notice any performance difference either way.

The PS5 is an outstanding gaming console, but the 1TB SSD is a real bottleneck. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, for example, can exceed 200GB alone. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth tips the scales at 145GB and Baldur's Gate 3 requires 105GB. Future games like Grand Theft Auto VI will undoubtedly demand even more space. The advantage of a PS5 console over the Xbox Series X is that the SSD slot is not proprietary; you can install most third-party PCIe Gen4 x4 SSDs as long as they are fast enough. Slower drives will still work, but they may bottleneck the original SSD so they aren't recommended if you want an absolutely seamless experience.

The Best MicroSD Express Cards for Nintendo Switch 2

22 août 2025 à 20:00

The Nintendo Switch 2 is here! If you were able to grab one, keep in mind that it only has 256GB of storage built-in. If you want to load up on games without having to deal with uninstalling and reinstalling over and over, you’re going to want to expand that storage. Unlike the original Nintendo Switch, the new console requires a MicroSD Express card – which are faster, but more expensive than other UHS-based SD cards.

Featured in this article

MicroSD Express cards have been around for a while, but there are only a few on the market right now as creative professionals haven’t really found much of a use for them. However, with the Switch 2 launch, there's been a deluge of Express cards to fill that gap.

My colleagues and I are in the process of testing these cards, but if we were to recommend any based on experience, these are the MicroSD Express cards – an essential Switch 2 accessory – we'd say to buy right now. These come from reputable manufacturers that have a track record of making excellent storage expansion cards. We'll be updating this as we play around with the Switch 2 and SD cards.

Why MicroSD Express?

Unlike many devices, the Nintendo Switch 2 is mandating a MicroSD Express card for storage expansion. Nintendo hasn’t really explained its reasoning behind the decision, but it’s not hard to see why it might want to require faster storage.

For one, the flash storage built into the system is the same kind of UFS flash that powers most smartphones. This storage is much faster than the eMMC drive in the original Switch, and it’s likely Nintendo wanted its developers to be able to count on that kind of storage speed, no matter if the game is being stored internally or on an expansion card.

The only thing you can use a regular old MicroSD card for is loading screenshots and videos you took on your first-gen Switch. That means unlike something like the PS5, which allows you to store last-generation games on slower external drives, Nintendo isn’t allowing for any wiggle room here. If you want to expand the Nintendo Switch 2 storage, you’re going to need a MicroSD Express card.

1. Lexar Play Pro

The Best MicroSD Express Card

The Lexar Play Pro is the fastest and most capacious card available. Supporting read times up to 900MB/s and storage space up to 1TB, this is the best MicroSD Express card out there right now. Unfortunately, with the increased demand that the Switch 2 has brought, it's been tough to find in stock.

This will likely change in the future as stock normalizes and people slow down on excitedly buying any accessory related to the Nintendo Switch 2. If you do want the best SD card for your Switch though, it’s worth keeping your eye on the Lexar Play Pro, especially the 1TB version, and scooping it up if you see it available. As for right now, your best bet is to order it through B&H, which has it on backorder until July.

2. SanDisk MicroSD Express

Best 256GB MicroSD Express Card

I have so many SanDisk SD cards lying around, and that shouldn’t be super surprising. Over the years, SanDisk has become one of the most prolific SD card manufacturers, and now it has a MicroSD Express card. Unlike the Lexar version, SanDisk doesn’t have a fancy name for its card, and it also only goes up to 256GB, which would simply mirror the internal storage of the Nintendo Switch 2.

Still, doubling your storage isn’t a bad deal, especially if you can find this card at a lower price. It’s also not quite as fast as the Lexar Play Pro, coming in with a read speed of up to 880MB/s. That’s a minor enough disparity that you’re not going to notice any difference when you’re loading up Mario Kart World, but 20MB/s is still 20MB/s.

3. Samsung MicroSD Express for Switch 2

The Official Option We Know Very Little About

Samsung’s MicroSD Express card is the one that’s being sold directly by Nintendo, which definitely gives it some weight. Luckily, since it came out back in May, Samsung has released its actual speeds and feeds. This MicroSD card gets 800MB/s of read speeds, which doesn't make it the fastest SD card here, but it'll still load games plenty fast. Plus, it has Mario on the retail packaging, so that's a bonus, right?

The card does come with a 3-year warranty, but Samsung only offers it in a 256GB size. That basically doubles the initial storage of the Switch 2, but it would still be nice to see a 512GB or 1TB option for true game archival – especially as it's the official option.

At the end of the day, though, it being the "official" MicroSD Express card for the Switch 2 doesn't mean much. It might have received Nintendo's seal of approval, but this MicroSD card isn't going to be much different than any other card on this list, at least beyond the red paint job.

4. PNY MicroSD Express 128GB

Best Budget MicroSD Express Card For Switch 2

If you ask me, PNY is one of the most underrated brands for memory products. The company doesn't get a lot of attention, but whether it's flash drives or SD cards, its products have always been extremely reliable for me. And, well, luckily the company has finally launched a MicroSD Express card. The downside is that it's limited to 128GB right now.

For reference, the Nintendo Switch itself has 256GB of storage – which is criminally low for a new device in 2025, but that's beside the point. That means this PNY MicroSD Express card only increases your potential game library by about 50%. That's not nothing, but this isn't exatly the card you get if you want a little archive of Switch 2 games.

However, while this MicroSD Express card isn't the most capacious option out there, it is much more affordable than the competition. At the time of writing, this PNY memory card is only $44 on Amazon. That's expensive for a MicroSD Card, sure, but it's downright affordable for a MicroSD Express card. At least until prices start to come down, this is going to be the memory card to get if you just need to supplement your Switch 2 storage for as cheap as possible, while still getting a reliable product.

MicroSD Express FAQ

How fast is MicroSD Express?

SD Express is theoretically much faster than older SD cards, and that largely comes down to how it interfaces with the device. Rather than connecting to a bespoke SD card interface, SD Express uses PCI Express 3.1, which is what SSDs use on PC.

Don’t go expecting a MicroSD Express card to be as fast as the NVMe SSDs in handheld gaming PCs, though. While the full-sized SD Express cards can come close, with read speeds up to 3,940MB/s, the MicroSD Express cards can only hit a maximum of 985MB/s. Still, that’s much faster than the older MicroSD cards used by the original Nintendo Switch.

How long will a MicroSD Express card last?

Just like any SD card, MicroSD Express cards aren’t meant to be used for long-term data storage, and so they have a shelf life. How long they’ll last depends largely on the environment it's being used in, and whether or not you’re dropping it. I wouldn’t expect a MicroSD Express card to last more than 5-10 years before it needs to be replaced, so be sure to keep anything important backed up.

How to Watch the X-Men Movies in Order

22 août 2025 à 19:49

While the X-Men made their name in comic form, the X-Men movie adaptations have become beloved in their own right, with such fan favorites as Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. These films are also pretty notorious for their messy timelines, with origin stories, retconning, and time travel to really spice things up. There are plenty of different ways to watch these films, and the choice of how you watch them will determine how certain reveals and moments will pay off.

While it can be easy to just watch them as they were released, we’ve organized the 14 films into how they roughly fit into one big timeline. This will allow you to experience the X-Men story from the beginning and follow each character’s journey from its earliest point.

With the original X-Men cast returning in Avengers: Doomsday, we thought the best way to get ready for the future was to honor the past. Without further ado, here is our mostly spoiler-free look at how you can watch the X-Men movies in timeline order!

Jump to:

Which X-Men Movie Should You Watch First?

If you're new to the X-Men movie franchise, you can choose to start with First Class and make your way through the timeline chronologically. However, if you want to experience the films how they were originally released to audiences, you'll want to start with X-Men (2000) where the series officially began.

X-Men Movies in Release Order

Just looking for a quick list of the X-Men movies in the order they originally came out? Here you go:

X-Men Movies in Chronological Order

1. X-Men: First Class (2011)

X-Men: First Class is the start of a new X-Men chapter that rewinds the clock to the earliest point on the film franchise’s timeline. The film begins in 1944 at the Auschwitz concentration camp before jumping ahead to 1962. The story follows a young Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto and the origins of both the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants.

Read our review of X-Men: First Class.

2. X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)

X-Men: Days of Future Past is a bit hard to place on the timeline as it features the X-Men from both the original films and the newer ones. Much of the story takes place in 1973, but plenty of time is spent in an alternate version of 2023 as well. Certain story elements we won’t spoil here make us comfortable placing it here on the timeline, but having an affection for the original crew definitely does help make it a more special moviegoing experience. This means it can also fit right near the end of this list if you so choose.

Read our review of X-Men: Days of Future Past.

3. X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)

The first X-Men spinoff movie starts back in 1845, but the bulk of the story is set in 1979 and explores the… well, origin of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. Not only do we get to see how he got his iconic adamantium claws, but we also get our first introduction to Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson/Deadpool. It's an essential part of the Wolverine timeline.

Read our review of X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

4. X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)

X-Men: Apocalypse stars Oscar Isaac as En Sabah Nur/Apocalypse and pits him against our reboot X-Men crew. While the film starts all the way back in 3600 BC, much of the story is set in 1983.

Read our review of X-Men: Apocalypse.

5. X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019)

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is the last film starring the X-Men crew led by James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender, and it tells the story of the transformation of Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey into Phoenix. The film begins in 1975 but takes place mostly in 1992.

Read our review of X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

6. X-Men (2000)

Due to how these movies play out, the switch from Dark Phoenix into X-Men doesn’t happen as smoothly as a film like Rogue One transitions to A New Hope, but the first X-Men live-action film does fit next into the timeline as it takes place in the early 2000s. While James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender played their younger versions in the previous films, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen take on the role of the older versions of Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto in these films.

Read our review of X-Men.

7. X2: X-Men United (2003)

Taking place not too long after the original, X2: X-Men United picks up the story as a brainwashed Nightcrawler attempts to murder the President of the United States. Some big events happen at the end of the film that set up The Last Stand and tease the arrival of this trilogy’s iteration of Phoenix.

Read our review of X2: X-Men United.

8. X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)

X-Men: The Last Stand was the first live-action film to tell the Phoenix story, but in terms of the series’ internal chronology, it is the second. Either way, we get to see Famke Janssen’s Jean Grey resurrect as the dangerously powerful Phoenix and go up against our favorite X-Men in this final film in the original trilogy.

Read our review of X-Men: The Last Stand.

9. The Wolverine (2013)

The Wolverine is a sequel of sorts to both X-Men Origins: Wolverine and X-Men: The Last Stand and takes place shortly after the latter film and deals with the fallout of the events it portrayed. It also introduces Yukio, a later version of whom would appear in Deadpool 2.

Read our review of The Wolverine.

10. Deadpool (2016)

While he made his first appearance in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds Wade Wilson/Deadpool makes his solo feature film debut in 2016’s Deadpool. This film is mostly separate from the happenings of the mainline films, but Deadpool is in the same universe so this would give you a complete picture of the franchise. There is no specific time Deadpool takes place, but it seems to take place around the time it was released - 2016. As one of the best Ryan Reynolds movies, you can watch this one out of order if you need to.

Read our review of Deadpool.

11. Deadpool 2 (2018)

Much like the original, Deadpool 2 doesn’t have an exact date it takes place and its events mostly happen outside of everything else going on in the X-Men franchise. That being said, this sequel does feature some returning, younger X-Men and a spoilery moment/reference for Logan, so it’s possibly set in the late 2020s. All that being said, it’s Deadpool and all jokes are fair game for this fourth-wall-breaking merc with a mouth.

Read our review of Deadpool 2.

12. The New Mutants (2020)

The New Mutants appears to take place sometime in the late 2020s as it features a connection to Logan, which is set in 2029. Much like Deadpool, The New Mutants mostly tells its own contained story and can be safely viewed at this spot or somewhere around it.

Read our review of The New Mutants.

13. Deadpool & Wolverine (2024)

If things were already all over the place, timeline-wise, they got even more complicated with this 2024 crossover. Deadpool & Wolverine is set in its release year, 2024, so technically before Logan. But it's not really that simple because this movie makes references across all the X-Men (and Marvel) timelines, seemingly existing in the same universe and an entirely different one at the same time. So, yeah, it's set in 2024, but this movie's got its own thing going on.

Read our review of Deadpool & Wolverine

14. Logan (2017)

As previously mentioned, Logan takes place in 2029 and follows Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier in a world where mutants are basically extinct. This is clearly the film that takes place farthest ahead in the timeline and thus should be the one to finish them all off. And it’s a great one to end on.

Read our review of Logan.

Upcoming X-Men Movies and Shows

The first major X-Men project since Marvel Studios re-acquired the rights to the franchise was X-Men '97, an animated series outside of the MCU timeline that picks up where the original animated series left off. Season 1 finished up last year, while Season 2 is in the works and expected to come out in 2026.

Otherwise, we'll be getting a reboot of the X-Men under Marvel. Several original X-Men cast members were included in the massive cast reveal for Avengers: Doomsday, which is set for release in 2026. More recently, Kevin Feige announced that the X-Men would be recast after Avengers: Secret Wars, which leaves the question of what exactly is going to play out for the OG team in those upcoming Avengers movies.

The Best Handheld Gaming PCs to Take Your Games on the Go

22 août 2025 à 19:42

Valve may have revolutionized mobile PC gaming with the Steam Deck, but more and more handheld gaming PCs are coming to market, giving it some stiff competition. Formerly, the Asus ROG Ally X knocked Steam’s offering from our top spot thanks to its impressive performance, fast memory, and long-lasting battery, but we've got a brand-new favorite: the Lenovo Legion Go S (Z1 Extreme, SteamOS). With the Xbox Ally X announced at the Xbox Games Showcase, you'll have plenty of options for gaming on the go in the future. Whether you’re after the Steam Deck itself or one of the best Steam Deck alternatives, we’ve selected excellent handheld gaming PCs ready to chew through the top PC games – as long as you don't try to run Doom: The Dark Ages.

TL;DR – These Are the Best Handheld Gaming PCs:

Rather than dealing with the bulk a gaming laptop, handheld gaming PCs keep far more compact dimensions, making it easier to play from just about anywhere. Even though these devices are obviously significantly smaller than a gaming PC, it doesn’t mean they’re underpowered. Many handheld gaming PCs are packing the performance prowess to cruise through AAA games like Cyberpunk 2077. If you get sick of playing on a smaller screen, a great Steam Deck dock works seamlessly with most handheld gaming PCs so you can hook up to your gaming TV.

While we’re on the cusp of a handheld gaming PC revolution, we've gotten our hands on a good chunk of these highly-capable devices. Below are the current four we deem worthy of consideration.

1. Lenovo Legion Go S (Z1 Extreme, SteamOS)

The Best Handheld Gaming PC

When the Lenovo Legion Go S first came out back in February 2025, it was a hot mess. The configuration Lenovo initially released was bogged down by the weak Z2 Go processor, which didn't pair well with Windows. And because it was both running Windows 11 and had 32GB of memory, this weaker handheld was just as expensive – if not moreso – than the original Legion Go that preceded it. But Lenovo has righted the ship by launching the Go S with the Z1 Extreme and SteamOS built-in.

This system is still expensive. You're looking at $829 to get this model, but that's only a bit more than the Asus ROG Ally X, which ended up being slower, if only by a bit, in my tests. When I reviewed this new Lenovo Legion Go S, I found that the SteamOS-powered handheld beat out the Ally X in synthetic benchmarks by as much as 9%. That's not bad, considering that handheld had the performance crown before this system came out.

The elephant in the room is the Steam Deck. Even three years after its release, it's still an incredible and popular handheld, and it's not hard to see why. It's easy to use, and it's literally half the price of the Go S. But not only do you get a higher resolution display with this Legion Go S, you also get as much as double the performance. I was able to get a solid 60fps playing Baldur's Gate 3, and that's something I straight up couldn't do on the Steam Deck. Whether or not that's worth the higher price tag depends entirely on what you're looking for.

A great handheld gaming system is about more than just raw performance, though. It also needs to be comfortable to use, and despite the sytem being one of the largest I've used – and I've used a lot of them – it's extremely comfortable. The Lenovo Legion Go S has rounded edges that give you something to hold on to, and the textured finish makes it harder to slip out of your hands.

The Go S also has one of the most beautiful LCD displays I've seen in a while and proves that OLED isn't the only way to get a great picture in 2025. It's not quite as colorful as the Steam Deck OLED, to be fair, but it still made any game I played on it look awesome. Now that we're waiting for Microsoft and Asus to launch the ROG Xbox Ally X later this year, the Legion Go S is the PC gaming handheld to beat.

2. Asus ROG Ally X

The Best Windows Handheld Gaming PC

The Asus ROG Ally X we reviewed last year might use the same AMD Z1 Extreme processor as the original ROG Ally, but Asus has made enough little changes to the handheld that firmly make it the best gaming handheld running Windows on the market right now. The Z1 Extreme is accompanied by 24GB of LPDDR5 memory, clocked at 7,400MHz, a massive increase over the 16GB of RAM on the original model. Bcause the RAM is faster this time around, it results in a surprising performance lift that averaged around 12-15% in my testing.

Asus also made the chassis a little thicker and heavier. It's not enough to notice most of the time, but there's a reason behind the madness. The Asus ROG Ally X has an improved cooler and a battery that's twice as large as the original model. This means you can play games for multiple hours before you have to start running for the charger. The improved cooler also helps long gaming sessions by wicking hot air away from the touch display, avoiding the hot touch screen issue that plagued the original model. Plus, if you pair it with a gaming pillow like I did, you won't even notice the increased heft.

The Asus Mobile XG port on the original model has been removed, and has been replaced by a second USB-C port, which is compatible with Thunderbolt 4. Asus has also replaced the controversial MicroSD card slot with one that will hopefully be a little more resistant to damage. (After all, Asus got into some hot water with the original ROG Ally thanks to some lackluster customer support that was documented by YouTuber Gamers Nexus.)

3. Valve Steam Deck

The Best Budget Handheld Gaming PC

Responsible for popularizing the handheld gaming PC revolution, the Valve Steam Deck doesn’t actually come with Windows installed. Instead, it uses Valve’s custom SteamOS, and thanks to the API Proton, the Steam Deck supports dozens of games optimized for the portable, from Cyberpunk 2077 to Forza Horizon 5.

There are ways to get Windows running on the 7-inch display portable by booting directly from the USB-C port. Beyond that is one of the best input controls available for any portable gaming handheld. See our full comparison between the Steam Deck and ROG Ally here.

There’s also the OLED version of the Steam Deck to consider for users who prefer a larger, brighter, and more vibrant screen. While still displaying at 1200x800, the Steam Deck OLED offers a noticeable difference, providing more clarity for a better visual experience. You'll also get improved battery life, a higher refresh rate, and more storage than the 256GB offered in the tradtional LCD model.

4. Lenovo Legion Go

The Best High Performance Handheld Gaming PC

When you're setting out to buy any kind of gaming PC, there's a balance you need to find: You want something with incredible performance, but still looks like the premium product that you paid for. Handheld gaming PCs are no different, and that's why the Lenovo Legion Go is such a catch. The Legion Go measures in at a massive 11.76 inches long and 5.16 inches tall with the controllers attached, and that's primarily because of the large display.

Unlike other handheld gaming PCs like the Steam Deck or the Asus ROG Ally Z1 that take a lot of inspiration from the Nintendo Switch, the Legion Go sports an 8.8-inch 1600p display, almost making it a Windows 11 tablet with a controller stapled onto it. Luckily, Lenovo was able to keep the weight down a little bit, just 1.41lbs. Even if it's lighter than it looks, it's probably going to be hard for folks with smaller hands to use it.

The 1600p display causes a bit of a hassle, too. Because this is using the same AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme chipset as the ROG Ally, some games can have a bit of trouble running at the native resolution. This is easily solved by tinkering with your in-game settings to lower the resolution. If you're not comfortable doing the hands-on troubleshooting, this might not be the product for you. But if you're a long-time PC gamer like I am, you'll love just how flexible – and beautiful – the Lenovo Legion Go is. This is the handheld gaming PC for the hardcore PC gaming crowd.

Upcoming Handheld Gaming PCs

Now that the Lenovo Legion Go S is here, we have a first glimpse of the next generation of handheld gaming PCs. It had a rough start with the AMD Z2 Go, but the newer one with the Z1 Extreme is great, knocking the ROG Ally X down a peg in my rankings. There will be more handheld gaming PCs coming out over the rest of the year that are powered by the more powerful versions, like the Z2 Extreme. Just keep an eye out for the Lenovo Legion Go 2.

One of the handhelds that'll be using that updated chip is the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X, and while we've seen it a couple times – most recently at Gamescom 2025, we still don't know when exactly it'll hit store shelves. But what's really cool about that one is that because it's made in collaboration with Microsoft, it's going to have a level of software optimizations that might put it on the same level as the Steam Deck. I'll have to wait to see how it holds up when I get it in the lab, but after going hands-on with it, we're definitely excited.

Beyond that, though, we're still waiting for handheld gaming PCs to come out with the Z2 Extreme, which was announced way back at CES 2025. We now have three high-profile handhelds that have been announced with this chip, but none of them are available yet. Really, it's a race to see which one actually comes out first. I for one think it'd be hilarious if the Xbox Ally X – the last of the Z2 Extreme devices to be announced – ends up being the first one to market.

Handheld Gaming PC FAQ

Should I buy a handheld gaming PC or a gaming laptop?

Depending on how you want to game and what games you want to play will determine whether you should grab a gaming laptop or handheld PC. Handhelds score higher points in longevity, battery life, optimization, portability, and thermals. But handhelds are only designed to play games up to a certain specification. Gaming laptops cram in the latest GPU, CPU, and RAM, likely sacrificing battery life, thermals, and price. However, some are absolute beasts ready to take on even the most graphically intensive games. Laptops offer more functionality when it comes to editing and other work.

Black Bolt is 25% cheaper at $84, White Flare is 17% below Amazon at $80.95 followed by Destined Rivals 17% cheaper at $94.48 and Twilight Masquerade at $86.87, which is a modest 6% cheaper. We're still a ways off from MSRP, but if you want to get one of these ETBs this is the cheapest option right now.

Most Expensive Pokémon Cards from Japan's Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia

Japan's Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia Pokémon TCG sets have quickly gained popularity with collectors and competitive players alike, thanks to their focus on iconic Mega Evolutions, powerful Supporter cards, and premium artwork. High-value chase cards like Mega Gardevoir ex 092/063 and Mega Lucario ex 092/063 are priced at $664 and $444 respectively, while many others remain above the $100 mark.

These sets combine strong gameplay mechanics such as Psychic energy acceleration and hard-hitting Fighting-type attacks with visually stunning Special and Ultra Rare treatments that elevate their appeal. Booster boxes and Premium Trainer Boxes are available on TCGPlayer and include guaranteed rare pulls due to Japanese packaging rules. While the most expensive cards draw attention, more affordable options like Lillie’s Determination 086/063, Mega Kangaskhan ex SAR, and Mega Absol ex SAR offer great value with solid gameplay and collector-friendly art, making these sets a standout release for fans looking for both playability and display-worthy cards.

This Weeks Crashers and Climbers

Stellar Crown’s Illustration Rares like Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Terapagos ex are dropping fast, with nostalgia-driven hype fading as supply grows and competitive players move on. Squirtle is down about 32% since February and Bulbasaur is down 31%, both sliding because their gameplay value is minimal. Earthen Vessel and the Special Illustration Rare Fezandipiti ex are also slipping, while Terapagos ex has been hit hardest, losing over half its value.

On the other hand, Shrouded Fable cards with practical utility are steadily climbing. Hyper Rare Basic Darkness Energy has gained around 17% as Dark-focused decks get more popular, and Dusclops is creeping up thanks to its creative ability. Even the Double Rare Fezandipiti ex is bucking the trend, nearly doubling in value as competitive players embrace it. Smaller gains from Powerglass and Okidogi ex reinforce the idea that functional, playable cards are holding their ground while flashy artwork is losing steam.
