Nitro Deck 2 for Nintendo Switch 2 Is Up for Preorder at Amazon With a May 1 Release Date

2 février 2026 à 22:06

The Nitro Deck 2 is poised to be one of the Switch 2's hottest accessories for anyone looking to elevate their gaming experience while maintaining comfort over extended periods of time. While this new and improved hardware from CRKD isn't landing until later this Spring (May 1 according to the Amazon listing), it's worth getting excited about its suite of upgrades over the original Nitro Deck.

The Nitro Deck 2 is a step up in essentially every meaningful way, providing a far more premium experience over the original. There's a lot of new features to admire, but some of the most notable are improved ergonomics (including an offset right stick), swappable D-pads and stick tops, a sturdier kickstand, and an updated sliding mechanism for a better fit.

Not only does the Nitro Deck 2 offer considerable improvements over the first iteration, but it also sports full backward compatibilty with the Switch and Switch OLED, giving you plenty of freedom to swap back and forth between Nintendo's newer and older systems. It can even be disconnected and used as a pro-style controller for your Switch or Switch 2, PC, or mobile device.

For those who value aesthetics, the Nitro Deck 2 comes in three standard color variations: Smoke Black, Pal Grey, and White. But CRKD has also teamed up with Limited Run Games for a limited edition Fusion Edition of the accessory, sporting translucent blue and purple for those looking for a bit of extra visual flair.

You can preorder all four variations of the Nitro Deck 2 from the CRKD website and Amazon. You can also purchase the LRG Fusion Limited Edition directly from Limited Run Games. Preorders from CRKD include a bonus exclusive string bag and early adopters collector’s pin.

Regardless of where you buy the Nitro Deck 2, every variation (including the LRG Fusion Limited Edition) will run you $99.99. Purchasing from the CRKD website, however, allows you to also add on a variety of accessories for the Nitro Deck 2, such as a pack of swappable D-pads, an 8-pack of stick tops, and more. Both sites offer the Nitro Deck 2 Hardshell Carry Case for $39.99.

Preorders of the Nitro Deck 2 are expected to ship between April 1 and June 30 depending on where you order from, so you'll still have a little while to wait before you can wrap your hands around this highly anticipated redesign.
