Carlos Guillermo “Bill” Alonso, 79, was sentenced to six months’ probation and a boater-safety course Monday in Miami-Dade County court for the 2024 hit-and-run death of 15-year-old Ella Adler.

Adler — the granddaughter of former US ambassador to Belgium Michael Adler — was wakeboarding with friends to celebrate her birthday in Key Biscayne when she fell into the water.

Alonso reached a plea deal with prosecutors after he was charged with two misdemeanor counts of careless vessel operation for piloting his 42-foot yacht through a crowded Key Biscayne waterway and striking and killing the teen.

“We love her. We miss her. We want her to come home,” her distraught husband said.

Special Education Linda Brown was last seen Saturday afternoon in the 4500 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Bronzeville, about two miles southwest of Guaranteed Field, driving a blue 2021 Honda Civic to an acupuncture appointment before she vanished

Her husband, Antwon Brown, said they had a quiet night together at home watching a movie before she went to bed early.

Brown was last seen in the 4500 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Bronzeville driving a blue 2021 Honda Civic.

Antwon said his wife’s disappearance has left him “frightened and scared,” and her family desperately wants her found.
