Plane was taxiing for takeoff when door was suddenly opened by passenger, who is expected to face charges

A person on board a plane at Boston Logan international airport that was taxiing for takeoff suddenly opened an exit door and was quickly restrained by other passengers, authorities said.

The JetBlue passenger was expected to face charges and be arraigned on Wednesday, a Massachusetts state police spokesperson, Tim McGuirk, said in a statement on Tuesday night. The passenger’s name was not released.

Privately owned Cessna 208 Caravan 675 plane was carrying seven people when it crashed off Western Australia coast

Three people have died after a seaplane crashed near Western Australia’s popular tourist destination Rottnest Island with seven people on board.

The privately owned Cessna 208 Caravan 675 seaplane is believed to have struck a small limestone outcrop called Phillip Rock while taking off from Rottnest Island, off the coast of Perth, at about 4pm local time on Tuesday.

The Las Vegas Raiders fired Antonio Pierce on Tuesday after just one season as their full-time coach, the team’s latest in a line of coaching changes over the past several years.

“We appreciate Antonio’s leadership, first as an interim head coach and this past season as the head coach,” the team said in a statement. “Antonio grew up a Raiders fan and his Silver and Black roots run deep. We are grateful for his ability to reignite what it means to be a Raider throughout the entire organization. We wish nothing but the best for Antonio and his family in the future.”

Men charged with felonies after skit leads to third-degree burns over 16% percent of pledge’s body, prosecutors say

Four fraternity members at San Diego State University are facing felony charges in connection with a skit performed at a party last year during which a pledge was set on fire, causing third-degree burns that covered more than 16% of his body, prosecutors said.

Caden Cooper, 22; Lucas Cowling, 20; Christopher Serrano, 20; and Lars Larsen, 19, were all charged with at least one felony Monday in San Diego superior court. All pleaded not guilty.

The driver charged with killing NHL hockey player Johnny Gaudreau and his brother, Matthew, as they cycled on a rural New Jersey road pleaded not guilty to the indictment on Tuesday after turning down a prosecution offer of 35 years in prison.

Sean M Higgins, 44, appeared briefly in court in Salem county, New Jersey, and entered a formal plea to the recent indictment in the 29 August deaths. The case will now move toward trial.
