It's that time of year. On January 22, Samsung will host its biannual Galaxy Unpacked Event, where they will announce their new line of 2025 Galaxy S smartphones. This is also when preorders go live. In advance of the event, you can place a reservation online in order to get it on some early bird perks if you end up placing a preorder. These include:
A bonus $50 Samsung credit
Up to $1,250+ in additional savings (most likely from trade-ins)
A chance to even their sweepstakes for $5,000 in Samsung credit
If you're even slightly interested in getting your hands on the new 2025 Galaxy S25 smartphone, there's no reason not to reserve. Since this isn't a pre-order, you don't have to place any kind of deposit, and there's no commitment to buy.
Although Samsung is tight-lipped about the details, we can infer that the new Galaxy S phones will be dubbed "S25" (last year's series was the S24) and will very likely come in its usual three variants: the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra, with a potential fourth model - the Galaxy S25 "Slim" - being unveiled as well.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra was our favorite Android phone of 2024. In our Galaxy S24 Ultra review review, Jacqueline Thomas wrote that "The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is an incredible smartphone. It might look like yet another Galaxy device, but its titanium chassis and powerful processor makes this a durable gaming phone that can outrace the best of them."
The less expensive Galaxy S24 Plus was also a solid winner in our books. In our Galaxy S24 Plus review, Mark Knapp wrote that "The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is the best Android phone you can buy right now, but at $1299, it really needs to be. This is not only the fastest gaming phone you can buy today, but with its premium Titanium chassis, it might just be the most durable. Samsung is sweetening the deal a bit by adding a huge variety of AI tools, but many of them will probably be forgotten after you've been using the phone for a while. Still, don't let that get you down: if you want a premium Android phone in 2024, it's hard to imagine getting anything else.
Since the Galaxy S25 will be Samsung's new flagship phone, we expect improvements across the board. Galaxy S phones are well noted for their excellent build quality and premium aesthetic, powerful components, and a best-in-class camera. The incorporation of AI has been at the forefront of CES 2025 and I expect Samsung to follow suit with its own Galaxy AI algorithm. Rumors abound but concrete details are still wanting. We will all find out soon enough, and if the phone beats expectations, you'd be glad that you reserved in advance.

Starting this week, Best Buy is taking $200 off the Asus ROG Ally Z1 Extreme gaming handheld, now only $499.99. That's the lowest price I've seen for a brand new unit, even during Black Friday. This is an excellent gaming handheld for those of you who want to play your PC games anywhere without being tied to Steam's ecosystem.
Asus ROG Ally Z1 Extreme Gaming Handheld for $499.99
The Asus ROG Ally Z1 Extreme is a Windows 11 based gaming handheld PC. This is the higher end of the two Asus ROG Ally models with an AMD Zen 4 based Z1 Extreme CPU, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. It boasts a 7" screen size with a sharp 1080p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.
Whereas its main competitor, the Steam Deck, runs off a Linux-based Steam OS, the ROG Ally uses the tried-and-true Windows 11. The benefit is that the ROG Ally is compatible with pretty much any Windows-based game launcher, including Steam, Battle.net, Xbox Games Pass, Epic Games Store, GOG, Ubisoft Connect, and more. Obviously that makes it more attractive to gamers who like to play games that aren't available or are harder to install on the Steam Deck.
In our Asus ROG Ally review, Robert Anderson wrote that "the Asus ROG Ally truly feels like the portable Xbox Game Pass machine that many fans have been clamoring for. While a frustrating user experience, poor battery life, and a lack of Steam Deck-style touchpads do hold it back a bit, it’s undeniable how much fun this handheld is to use when it really gets ticking. With a beautiful 1080p screen that’s marvelously bright and perfect for playing on the go in any condition, alongside its powerful set of specs and a fierce price tag, it might actually be the Steam Deck competitor we’ve been anticipating."
Note that CES 2025 is here and there's even more competition in the hot handheld gaming PC market. The more compact and updated Lenovo Legion Go S has been announced and it's already up for preorder now. If you want to get your hands on the Lenovo Legion Go S, the Windows 11 version with an Z2 Go and 32GB of RAM will launch in January 2025, starting at $729. However, a more affordable version is launching in May 2025, with the same Z2 Go chip, but with 16GB of RAM and your choice of Windows 11 or SteamOS for $599. The Asus ROG Ally X was also released in 2024 and it's an all-around better gaming handheld, albeit at a $300 higher price point.

Looking for a desktop charging station that has enough ports and delivers enough power to satisfy your needs? Amazon is currently offering an Anker Prime 6-Port 200W USB Desktop Charging Station for only $59.49. This charger features both USB Type-A and Type-C ports and can deliver as much as 100W of power per port. Anker is also one of the most trusted brands on Amazon when it comes to reliability.
Anker Prime 6-Port 200W USB Desktop Charger
The Anker Prime charging station features six total ports: two USB Type-A ports and four USB Type-C ports. Each Type-C port can deliver up to 100W and each Type-A port can deliver up to 22.5W. All six ports can be used simultaneously, however charging caps at 200W. The 100W port is powerful enough to charge laptops, tablets, and power hungry gaming handhelds like the Asus ROG Ally X, Steam Deck, or Lenovo Legion Go. The 22.5W ports can handle gaming or PC peripherals like mice, headsets, controllers, and so forth. It can also charge the Nintendo Switch at its fastest rate, although you'll need to pick up a USB Type-A to Type-C adapter.
Other practical features include GaN technology (smaller footprint and increased energy efficiency), a heavyset base so that it won't slide around on your desk, and multiple protection protocols. It comes with a 24-month Anker warranty.

Woot! (owned by Amazon) is kicking off 2025 with the best price we've seen for a new, warrantied Logitech G29 Driving Force Racing Wheel and Pedal Set for PS5, PS4, and PC. Right now, you can get it for only $169.99, a savings of 43%. Amazon Prime members get free shipping, everyone else pays $6. Note that you'll be receiving a brand new, unused unit, most likely in retail packaging, with the full two-year Logitech warranty.
Logitech G29 Driving Force Racing Wheel and Pedal Set
The G29 was already one of the best racing wheels under $300, and definitely the best under $200. It works with both the PlayStation 5 and PC, which means most people will probably use this for Gran Turismo 7 on PS5 and Forza Horizon 5 for PC. Standout features include a gorgeous hand-stitched leather racing wheel with 900 degrees of rotation, sturdy metal base, durable steel ball bearings in the shaft, gear-driven dual-force motor feedback, stainless shifter and pressure sensitive pedals. The force feedback does an excellent job of simulating providing force and resistance and certain adds to the immersion; if you want something better than this, you'd have to shell out a lot more money for a direct-drive or belt-driven wheel, like Logitech's own $1,000 G Pro direct-drive racing wheel we reviewed.
The G29 is actually a bit nicer than the Xbox's G920 variant. The G29 has LED shift lights located on the top of the wheel's spokes. These LEDs light up progressively as the car's RPMs rise in-game. The G29 also has a rotary knob on the wheel that can be customized to different functions, like traction control, brake bias, or split differential.
If you're a big fan of racing games like Gran Turismo or Forza Horizon 5 and you've been using a DualSense controller or gamepad this entire time, then this price drop might be the excuse for you to step up your immersion to the next level. Walmart (via Antonline) is currently offering the Lenovo LOQ 16" RTX 4070 gaming laptop for only $899.99. This is an excellent price for a gaming laptop equipped with an RTX 4070 GPU with 115W TGP (which means the GPU isn't throttled in any way). The LOQ is Lenovo's lineup of budget-oriented gaming laptops. Despite the lower cost compared to the Lenovo Legion, the LOQ is equipped with great internal components and boasts excellent gaming performance.
Lenovo LOQ 15" RTX 4070 Gaming Laptop
This Lenovo LOQ model features a 15" 1080p display, a low-voltage AMD Ryzen 7 7435HS CPU, GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. The RTX 4070 has a maximum TGP rating of 115W (140W with dynamic boost), which is quite impressive for such an affordable gaming laptop. That is the maximum amount of power alotted to the RTX 4070 mobile, so expect this laptop to perform equal to or better than other RTX 4070 laptops that cost hundreds more. Since the display has a 1080p resolution, you should be able to run even the newest games smoothly.
This laptop is sold by Antonline through Walmart's marketplace. Antonline is an established, reputable company and an authorized Lenovo reseller, which means your one-year manufacturer's warranty will be valid.

One of the best premium phone controllers is on sale today at Best Buy. Right now you can get a Backbone One USB Type-C mobile gaming controller, compatible with Android and iPhone 16 smartphones, for only $49.99 after a savings of 50%. This is the lowest price we've seen for a Backbone controller and as a bonus, if you play Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, you'll appreciate the 30-minute 2XP token that's included. This is the black color variant with Xbox style buttons.
50% Off the Backbone One Controller (USB-C)
The Backbone One turns your iPhone into a gaming handheld with an integrated gamepad much like the ones found on the Steam Deck, Nintendo Switch, or ASUS ROG Ally. You simply snap your phone into the controller and you're ready to go. Instead of using your phone's touchscreen, you can now use actual physical controls which includes dual joysticks, a D-pad, and programmable buttons. It makes for a more intuitive, more precise, and more enjoyable gaming experience.
In our Backbone One review, Matthew Adler wrote that "the Backbone One’s unique expanding controller connects directly to your iPhone for a low-latency gaming experience that feels great to use. Despite some lackluster buttons on the controller itself, it manages to create a seamless experience that blurs the lines between console and mobile gaming by producing a true “home screen” experience in the Backbone app. The tight integration between hardware and software makes it feel like a real platform, and one that will only continue to evolve through updates as time goes on."
The Backbone One is compatible with hundreds games (including Call of Duty Warzone Mobile, of course) from Apple Arcade, Xbox Cloud, PlayStation Remote Play, and Steam Remote Play, as well as any mobile game that already supports other standalone controllers. Not every game is compatible, however, so if you have a particular game that you play religiously, you'll want to confirm that it's supported before you jump on this deal.

Dell is offering some great discounts on two of its Alienware m16 R2 gaming laptops: the RTX 4060 model is on sale for $1,299.99 and the RTX 4070 model is on sale for $1,499.99. The m16 R2 is Alienware's most popular gaming laptop, which isn't surprising considering its excellent build quality, top-of-the-line gaming prowess, and reasonable price point. The "R2" is the second generation model that was released in 2024; it's 14% lighter and more compact than its predecessor without compromising on performance.
Alienware m16 R2 16" Gaming Laptop
These two Alienware m16 R2 laptops feature a 16" 2560x1600 QHD+ display, the new 14th gen Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor, your choice of GeForce RTX 4060 or RTX 4070 GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The Intel Core Ultra 7 155H is a Meteor Lake CPU with a Turbo Boost clock speed of 4.8GHz with 16 cores, 22 threads, and a 24MB cache. The Core Ultra 7 is the successor to the Intel Core i7 CPU; it offers similar performance while consuming less power, and thus reducing heat and increasing battery life. If you intend to use this laptop as a gaming rig, there's very little reason to upgrade to the Core Ultra 9 because the vast majority of games doesn't benefit from the additional cores.
You absolutely will, however, need a decent amount of GPU power to be able to run games smoothly on the display's bumped-up 2560x1600 resolution. The RTX 4060 GPU with 115W TGP (140W with dynamic boost) would definitely be the bare minimum we'd recommend; its performance lies somewhere between the RTX 3070 and the RTX 3070 Ti, so it's no slouch in terms of gaming performance. The more powerful RTX 4070 with 115W TGP (140W with dynamic boost) is comparable to the RTX 3080 and would fare better at 1440p. Both RTX 40 series GPUs also support DLSS 3.0.

The Omen Transcend is HP's newest gaming laptop and it's lighter and thinner than the standard Omen, weighing in as low as 3.6lbs. It boasts better build quality and materials like a premium aluminum chassis and a gorgeous OLED display. It's a great option for anyone who wants a slim and easily portable laptop while still being able to play the latest games.
HP Omen Transcend 16 RTX 4070 Laptop
Follow these directions to get this configuration:
The final price including shipping (but before taxes) should be $1,539.99
This HP Omen Transcend configuration features a 16" 2560x1600 OLED display, Intel Core i7-14700HX CPU, GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and a 512GB NVMe SSD. The Intel Core i7-14700HX is a powerful CPU with a max clock speed of 5.5GHz with 20 cores and 28 threads. It's paired with an RTX 4070 GPU with a 130W TGP. If gaming is your priority, this is the laptop to get.
HP Omen Transcend 14 RTX 4060 Laptop
Follow these directions to get this configuration:
The final price including shipping (but before taxes) should be $1,209.99
This HP Omen Transcend configuration features a 14" 2880x1800 OLED display, Intel Core Ultra 7 155H CPU, GeForce RTX 4060 GPU, 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. This laptop is better for folks who want a slim, easy to carry laptop that can play games on the side. The Intel Core Ultra 7 155H is a power efficient, low voltage Meteor Lake CPU and the RTX 4060 GPU — although capable — has been throttled down to a 65W TGP to extend battery life and reduce power consumption. Since the display sports a very high 2.8K resolution, I'd recommend dropping the resolution down to 1080p and enabling DLSS while gaming in order to hit a consistent 60fps frame rate with more demanding games.

Paramount is offering an extended one-month free trial to its Paramount+ with Showtime subscription by clicking through this link (no coupon required). This is the premium subscription with no ads and normally costs $12.99 per month. Best of all, this promotion is available to both new and previous subscribers. Now is a good time to sign up because you can watch the NFL playoff games this weekend or catch up on the recently released Transformers One movie.
Paramount+ with Showtime (30-Day Trial)
Paramount+ (formerly CBS All Access) is one of the better populated streaming services available, especially since this plan is ad-free. Its extensive library of media has been bolstered with the addition of Showtime in 2023, making it a great service for those who enjoy movies, original shows, live sports, news, and more.
Watch Two NFL Wild Card Games This Weekend
What a weekend for football fans. There are a total of six wild card games playing this weekend, and CBS and Paramount+ have rights to stream two of them: the Los Angeles Chargers vs. Houston Texans on January 11 at 4:30pm EST and the Denver Broncos vs. Buffalo Bills on January 12 at 1pm EST. Watch both games for free with this trial.
Watch Transformers One
The recently released animated Transformers One movie is now available to stream on Paramount+. Transformers One is an origin story that focuses on the relationship between Optimus and Megatron and the events leading up to their rift. It follows a separate canon from the Michael Bay films and is an excellent movie for kids and adults alike (although Tom Jorgensen doesn't necessarily agree in his IGN Transformers One review). It's definitely worth a watch.

If you're shopping for a huge amount of local storage, here's a deal that beats pretty much anything I saw during Black Friday. For a limited time, Best Buy is offering this massive Seagate Expansion 20TB USB 3.0 Desktop Hard Drive for only $229.99 shipped. That averages out to a mere $11.50 per TB of storage.
Seagate Expansion 20TB Desktop Hard Drive
The Seagate Expansion boasts a single 20TB disk drive so it's no bigger than any other desktop hard drive. It features a USB 3.0 interface with roughly up to 100MB/s transfer speed, which is in line with what you'd expect from a traditional hard drive. It also includes recovery software and automatic recognition of both Windows and Mac computers.
Although SSDs are all the rage these days, traditional hard drives are still the superior choice for long term storage. For one, hard drives are significantly less expensive. Compared to this hard drive's $11.50/TB cost, a solid state drive would run you at least $50/TB. Hard drives also have a much higher maximum capacity. Consumer SSDs generally cap out at 8TB, which pales in comparison to the 20TB capacity of this drive. Perhaps most importantly, although SSDs can equal HDDs in terms of lifespan, it's much easier to recover data from a HDD than SSD if either one fails.

If you're in the process of building out a new gaming PC and you're looking for the best gaming processor, this is it. Right now, the recently released AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D AM5 desktop processor is back in stock at Amazon at its retail price of $479 shipped. This is the official launch price with zero markup, and it's not bundled with anything you don't want or need. The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D is the best gaming processor currently on the market (across both AMD and Intel) and a better choice for gamers than the more expensive Intel Core Ultra 9 285K.
Highlight: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D Desktop Processor
AMD's X3D series processors are optimized for gaming. In that respect, they bench better than even the most expensive of AMD's standard lineup of CPUs thanks to AMD's 3D V-Cache technology. Although perfectly capable of handling multitasking, rendering, and creation, the limited number of cores means they aren't the ideal processors for those tasks. At its retail price of $479, the 9800X3D is $110 cheaper than the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K ($589) and $170 cheaper than the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X, even though it outperforms both of them in gaming. Unless you're a staunch Intel fan, or you're still on AM4 and don't want to upgrade all of your components, the 9800X3D is the obvious choice for your next gaming rig.

With PS5 games getting bigger each year and SSD prices rising, we want to make sure you can find the best amount of storage for the lowest price possible. Here, we'll point you in the direction of some of the greatest 2TB SSD deals we can find at the moment, like this incredible deal on a WD Black SN850X 2TB SSD with heatsink for $149.99.
It's worth noting that you can't use any old SSD and expect it to perform well on the PS5 console. You'll want to pick up a PCIe Gen4 x4 M.2 solid-state drive with at least a 5,500MB/s read speed to match the PS5's internal drive. We've gathered up SSDs that match or exceed these specs in the list below to make your search easier.
Note that Sony recommends a heatsink attached to your SSD and not all SSDs listed here have pre-installed heatsinks. For the ones that do, we'll be sure to mention it. For the ones that don't, all you have to do is purchase your own heatsink (like this one for $10) and install it yourself. For our top recommended picks for 2025, check out our full breakdown for the Best PS5 SSDs.
2TB WD Black SN850X PS5 SSD With Heatsink for $149.99
If you're looking to kickstart your year with some extra storage, look no futher than this deal on a 2TB WD Black SN850X PS5 SSD. This SSD features read speeds of up to 7,300MB/s to ensure your games load as fast as possible, and it's currently enjoying a very nice discount down to $149.99 at Walmart.
TEAMGROUP MP44Q 2TB SSD for $102.99
This is one of the best deals on a 2TB SSD at the moment: Amazon is offering the TEAMGROUP MP44Q 2TB SSD for just $102.99. It unfortunately does not have a heatsink so you'll have to invest in one, but you can easily do that here for under $10. It also offers transfer speeds of up to 7,400MB/s read and 6,500MB/s write.
Corsair MP600 PRO LPX 2TB SSD with Heatsink for $149.99
This is another excellent SSD deal that comes complete with a heatsink. Corsair's MP600 PRO LPX 2TB SSD with heatsink is discounted to $149.99 at Amazon, 25% off its list price of $199.99. It boasts 7,100MB/s sequential read and 6,800MB/s sequential write speeds and we even rank it as the best PS5 SSD to buy in 2025.
Kingston FURY Renegade 2TB SSD with Heatsink for $154.99
This SSD earned a spot in our list of the best PS5 SSDs as the best high performance PS5 SSD. This is all thanks to read/write speeds up to 7300MB/s and 7000MB/s, respectively. Not to mention, it comes with a heatsink all ready to go. It's currently enjoying a nice little discount down to $154.99 at Amazon, which is definitely worth taking advantage of.
SAMSUNG 980 PRO 2TB SSD with Heatsink for $187
If you don't mind spending a little extra cash, Samsung's 980 PRO 2TB SSD with heatsink is worth every penny. This PS5-ready SSD is currently marked down to $187 at Amazon, a 19% discount from its $229.99 list price, which is absolutely worth taking advantage of if you've had your eye on a SSD from Samsung.
What if the SSD Doesn't Include a Heatsink?
Sony recommends you install an SSD that has an attached heatsink. If the SSD you purchase doesn't include one, it's simple enough to buy one for $10 on Amazon and add it yourself. Most of these heatsinks are just attached using an adhesive like thermal tape.
Budget to Best: PS5 SSDs
There may be other SSD deals out there, but these are the PS5 SSDs we've tried ourselves and highly recommend. They also double up as outstanding boot drives for your gaming PC, so they're useful for more than just those who need additional storage for their PS5 console.
How To Install a New PS5 SSD
It's extremely easy! Removing the case cover is completely toolless. In fact, the only screw you have to remove is the one that keeps the cover for the SSD bay in place. You don't even put it back when you're done. Sony has a quick and easy YouTube video guide.

This Black Friday deal is back for 2025. Amazon has just dropped the price of the recently released Apple iPad Pro M4 13" tablet to $1,099 after a $200 discount, matching the lowest price during Black Friday. The new iPad Pro was released on May 15, 2024, and boasts significant upgrades over its predecessor including a powerful M4 chip and, for the first time, a gorgeous tandem OLED display.
$200 Off 2024 iPad Pro M4 13"
In our 2024 iPad Pro M4 review, Jacqueline Thomas wrote, "For creative professionals, the 2024 iPad Pro is the most powerful tablet on the market and is going to shine if your work revolves around a touchscreen. For the rest of us, though, the iPad Pro is simply the most beautiful display you'll find in a tablet, with hardware that's powerful enough to be a top-end device for years to come."
The 2024 iPad Pro is the best tablet on the market, iOS or otherwise, thanks to the new M4 processor which is both powerful and power efficient. Compared to the previous generation iPad M2, it performs about 20% better. However, the biggest update of the iPad Pro is not the M4 chip, but instead the tandem OLED panel which hadn't previously been seen on an Apple product. Tandem OLED is better than traditional OLED in two ways: 1) it's far brighter, and 2) it's less prone to burn-in. If you're wondering why this technology hasn't found its way into TVs, the answer is simply because it's not cost-effective at larger sizes. The iPad can get away with it because the 11" screen is much smaller, but that's also a major reason why the iPad Pro is priced considerably higher than the other iPads in Apple's 2024 lineup.
Looking for more iPad resources?
If you're not sure which iPad is best for you, we have an iPad guide which details which iPad is ideal for which use case. If you intend want to get an iPad for schoolwork, we have an iPad guide for students as well. If you're looking for options outside of iOS, check out the best Android tablets of 2025.

Bowflex isn't the only option when it comes to adjustable dumbbell sets. PowerBlock is another trusted brand at a much lower price point. To kick off the new year, Woot! (owned by Amazon) has discounted the PowerBlock EXP Stage 1 (5 to 50lb) adjustable dumbbell set to only $199.99, which is currently half the cost of a comparable set of Bowflex SelectTechs. For those who need more than 50 pounds of weight per dumbbell, PowerBlock also offers expansion kits that can increase the maximum weight to 70 pounds or 90 pounds. Both kits – Stage 2 (50 to 70lb) and Stage 3 (70 to 90lb) – are also on sale at Woot! for $89.99 each. Amazon Prime members get free shipping; everyone else will pay $6 for flat rate shipping. That's reasonable when you consider the fact that the package is going to weigh over 100 pounds.
PowerBlock Adjustable Dumbbells (up to 90lbs per Dumbbell)
Each dumbbell in the base PowerBlock EXP Stage 1 set is adjustable from 10 pounds all the way to 50 pounds. You can adjust the weight in 5-pound increments with just a turn of a dial, and the plates are all neatly contained and take up far less floor space than an entire rack of individual dumbbells. A stand isn't included; there's currently one on sale, but if you're on a budget, any sturdy stand or table will do.
One great feature of these PowerBlocks is that once you're ready to move beyond 50 pounds, you don't have to go out and buy an entirely new set of adjustable dumbbells. The expansion kits allow you to seamlessly add even more weight to your existing PowerBlocks - all the way up to 90 pounds - at a very reasonable cost.
The quality of these PowerBlock dumbbells are great. I've tried them myself and they are every bit as solid and well built as the Bowflex SelectTech. Just about every piece that matters is made out of metal, not plastic. The handles are rubber coated so your grip won't slip and the weight adjustment dial is smooth and intuitive. PowerBlock backs these dumbbells with a five-year warranty. If after five years you still haven't given up on your workout regimen, kudos to you.
Free weights are a great choice for anyone who wants to work out at home but is limited on space. A pair of dumbbells is all the equipment you need to get access to a wide range of exercises that can target just about every muscle in your upper and lower body. Supplement your free weight exercises with cardio and other workouts that use your own body weight as resistance (like pushups, burpees, or squats) and you may never need to purchase more equipment.

Starting today, Amazon is slashing the price of the coveted The Hobbit Deluxe Illustrated Edition to the lowest price I've ever seen. This hardcover book set normally retails for $195, but right now you can get it for $97.50, a savings of 50%. This beats the lowest price during Black Friday and Cyber Monday by about $35.
50% Off The Hobbit Deluxe Illustrated Edition
This premium edition of The Hobbit follows similar editions of Tolkien’s other books featuring the author’s hand-drawn maps and artwork. Unique to this edition are two poster-size, fold-out maps revealing all the detail of Thror’s Map and Wilderland, an illustrated 88-page booklet, and a printed art card reproducing Tolkien’s original dustjacket painting. It's also quarterbound in green leather, with raised ribs on the spine, stamped in three foils on black cloth boards, and housed in a custom-built clothbound slipcase. The pages are edged in gold and include a ribbon marker.
The Hobbit was released back in September of 2023 and is the latest in line to get the illustrated treatment. There’s The Lord of the Rings Illustrated, which came out in 2021, and The Silmarillion Illustrated, which arrived in 2022. It also features a forward by Christopher Tolkien, with additional notes from Tolkien scholars Wayne G. Hammond and Christina Scull.

If you bought a brand new TV over the holidays and you're looking for a good audio solution at an excellent price, then one of the best Black Friday deals is back. Walmart is currently offering the Bose Smart Soundbar 550 for just $199 with free shipping after a massive $300 off instant discount. At this price, it's certainly one of the best soundbars you can get, especially if you're looking for an affordable soundbar that supports Dolby Atmos.
60% Off Bose Smart Soundbar 550
The Bose Smart Soundbar 550 measures a relatively compact 27" long and is a great complement to any TV sized 32" and higher. It houses a total of five speakers including two upward-firing speakers for Dolby Atmos compatiblity. If your content doesn't support Atmos, Bose uses its proprietary TrueSpace technology to simulate spatial audio. Another nifty feature is Bose's A.I. Dialogue Mode, which does a great job detecting dialogue in video content and amplifying the voices.
True to its namesake, the Smart Soundbar 550 is a smart-enabled speaker with both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. Pair with with the Bose app on your mobile device to sync and stream via Apple AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, and more. You can also pair it with Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa for voice control.
This was one of the best and most popular soundbar deals on Black Friday, and it's good to see it return for 2025. If you're looking for more options, check out our best soundbar picks of 2025.

To kick off the new year, Best Buy is offering an HP Omen 35L RTX 4060 Ti gaming PC for only $999.99 after a $500 off instant discount. This price drop matches one of the most popular prebuilt gaming PC deals I saw during Black Friday.
HP Omen 35L RTX 4060 Ti Gaming PC
This PC features an AMD Ryzen 7 8700G CPU, RTX 4060 Ti GPU, 16GB of DDR5 RAM, and 1TB SSD. The AMD Ryzen 7 8700G is one of the latest Zen4 processors to be released and has a max boost clock of 5.1GHz with 8 cores, 16 threads, and a 16MB cache. It's cooled by a 120mm tower heatsink fan, which should be more than adequate since the 8700G is a power efficient low voltage chip. This is a very capable processor that excels at both gaming and workstation tasks and is one of the first processors to be equipped with Ryzen AI.
The RTX 4060 Ti 8GB video card is about 5%-10% faster than its RTX 3060 Ti predecessor at 1080p and about 20%-25% faster than the RTX 4060 in 1080p. This is the best bang-for-your-buck Nvidia GPU for 1080p gaming, and it's even fully capable of running games at respectable frame rates (in many cases 60fps or more) at 1440p, especially with DLSS 3.0 and frame generation enabled. Prebuilt gaming PCs equipped with this GPU usually cost between $1,200 and $1,500.
What's new about the Omen 35L?
HP touts the Omen 35 as its "first gaming desktop designed with Omen components". What that essentially means is that many of the parts that were originally sourced elsewhere are now designed in-house by HP. That includes the power supply units, the case fans, and the cooling systems. The OMEN 35L itself is a good looking, mid-tower chassis with a sensible airflow design; two large 140mm fans bring air in from the front and a rear 120mm fan exhausts it out the rear. This particular model features a tower heatsink fan instead of a watercooling system. That is actually preferred because the AMD Ryzen 8700G doesn't run as hot as other more power hungry CPUs. If you don't need liquid cooling, air cooling is better because it's less expensive and less likely to fail.

To start off the new year, Dell dropped the price of one of its best gaming monitors to the lowest price ever, even lower than the deals we saw during Black Friday or Cyber Monday. Right now you can pick up an Alienware AW3423DWF 34" QD-OLED gaming monitor for just $552.49 after 15% off coupon code "MONITORS15". This is one of Alienware's highest end monitors, with a gorgeous QD OLED panel, WQHD resolution, and a respectable 165Hz refresh rate.
34" Alienware AW3423DWF QD OLED Gaming Monitor
The Alienware AW3423DWF is a curved 34" with a 3440x1440 WQHD resolution, 0.03ms response time, and 165Hz refresh rate. It uses a Samsung quantum dot OLED panel that's brighter and supports a wider color range than traditional OLED panels without losing the incredible black levels and instantaneous response times that OLEDs are known for. The AW3423DWF features a 99.3% DCI-P3 color range and is factory calibrated with a Delta E less than 2. It is HDR True Black 400 certified and boasts up to 1,000nits of peak brightness.
If you're not looking for a true 4K monitor, this is one of the best monitors out there. The ultrawide WQHD resolution of this monitor measures out to a respectable 109ppi. You can get something like an RTX 4060 Ti or RTX 4070 GPU and achieve perfectly playable framerates. A true 4K monitor, on the other hand, would require a more powerful and pricier GPU.
In our Alienware AW3423DWF review, Chris Coke compared it to its more expensive predecessor, the AW3423DW. He wrote that "Though $1,099 (its MSRP) is far from cheap, the Alienware AW3423DWF feels like a great value compared to the original. It offers the same stunning picture, and dropping G-Sync Ultimate really makes no noticeable difference in actual gameplay. What’s left is a monitor that is extremely similar for $200 less than it was earlier this year. That’s a win and an easy recommendation to make if you’re in the market for a high-end display with a spectacular picture."

Not everyone is the DIY type. If you're in the market for a prebuilt gaming PC, Dell is one of the best brands we'd recommend. Alienware desktops and laptops feature solid build quality, top-of-the-line gaming performance, excellent cooling (further improved on the newer models), aggressive styling, and pricing that is very competitive with other pre-built options. Best of all, there are plenty of sales that happen throughout the year, so it's not difficult to grab one of these computers at considerably less than their retail price. This page includes all of the best deals that are currently available.

The 2024 Alienware "R16" desktop chassis is a major improvement.
The R16 is Alienware's current 2024 desktop PC design. It's 40% smaller in volume compared to previous iterations. It features a simple yet proven airflow pattern; air is drawn in through the side intake vents over the GPU area and a 120mm fan at the front of the case, and exhausts by way of a 120mm rear fan and two 120mm top fans. A 240mm radiator for the all-in-one liquid cooling system is mounted to these top fans. Some configurations don't actually include the liquid cooling system, but we rarely include them in this roundup. That's because Alienware's liquid cooling solution is far superior to their stock air cooling and is easily worth the price premium.
Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 4090 Gaming PC
The Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 4090 gaming PC is currently $3,699.99 at Dell (no other discounts available). The RTX 4090 is the most powerful GPU on the market. In his RTX 4090 review, Chris Coke writes, "The RTX 4090 may be huge and expensive, but holy smokes if it doesn’t blow the competition out of the water... Until the rest of the pack can catch up, between its impressive hardware specs and its DLSS 3 AI wizardry, even the $1,599 price doesn’t seem unreasonable for the unrivaled frame rates that this card can crank out." The 4090 is also great for AI thanks to its 24GB of VRAM.
Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 4080 Super Gaming PC
The 4080 Super is a second generation card that supersedes the RTX 4080. It's Nvidia's second most powerful card and a superior GPU to AMD's Radeon RX 7900 RTX if you factor in DLSS and ray tracing performance. In our RTX 4080 Super review, Jacqueline Thomas writes, "If you're in the market for a 4K graphics card around $1,000, it's hard to think of any GPU that's a better purchase right now. This is the RTX 4080 that should have launched in 2022."
Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 4070 Gaming PC
This is the best value for gamers who want a PC that can run any game currently available, but don't want to spend to overspend. The RTX 4070 is one of the best graphics cards for most people; it's not exorbitantly priced, and it's powerful enough to run games at up to 4K resolution (although 1440p is its sweet spot).
Alienware Aurora R16 i7 RTX 4060 Ti Gaming PC
The Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC features a Intel Core i7-14700F CPU and RTX 4060 Ti GPU for $1,599.99. The RTX 4060 Ti video card is a very good option for 1080p gaming at high frame rates. It's also the minimum NVIDIA GPU we'd recommend for 1440p gaming, although you'll see noticeable gains by jumping to an RTX 4070.
Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 4060 Gaming PC
The RTX 4060 is considerably more powerful than the RTX 3060 and almost nearly matches the RTX 3060 Ti. I would recommend this card for comfortable 1080p gaming. You could also run games at 1440p with relaxed graphic settings, but at that point I'd recommend upgrading to an RTX 4060 Ti or higher. Because it's a current generation card, the RTX 4060 supports DLSS 3.0. It gives you a very nice framerate boost without sacrificing too much visual quality.
Alienware m16 R2 RTX 4060 Gaming Laptop
Dell is offering an Alienware m16 R2 16" RTX 4060 gaming laptop for $1,299.99 after a $300 instant discount. You'll need a decent amount of GPU power to be able to run games smoothly on the display's bumped-up QHD+ resolution. The RTX 4060 sits between the RTX 3070 and the RTX 3070 Ti, so it's definitely no slouch in terms of gaming performance. It also features DLSS 3.0 for more framerates in games that support it. If you want something more powerful, the RTX 4070 variant is also on sale for only $200 more. This is a worthy upgrade if you want to play the latest AAA games.
Dell G-Series Gaming Laptops
Dell has dropped the prices on the G16 16" gaming laptops. Dells G-series laptops are great options for budget gamers. They offer excellent gaming performance equal to a comparably equipped Alienware laptop but at a much lower price point. They also have better build quality than Dell's Inspiron lineup, with nicer materials that include anodized aluminum, and an aggressive cooling design borrowed from Alienware laptops.
Alienware x16 R2 Gaming Laptops
The Alienware x16 gaming laptop is a slimmer and lighter redesign of the traditional m-series laptop. It's the thinnest 16" Alienware laptop ever and compares in build quality and performance to other high-end ultra-thin laptops like the Razer Blade. This Alienware x16 R2 laptop is built with premium materials, like a magnesium alloy chassis and palm rest, anodized aluminum lid, stainless steel keyboard tray, and Micro LED RGB accent lighting. It's only 0.73" thin and weighs in at 6 pounds. That's impressive considering the fact that this laptop can be equipped with the most power NVIDIA GPU.
Alienware m18 R2 Gaming Laptops
The Alienware m18 is the biggest Alienware laptop you can buy with an imposing 18" 2560x1600 display and top-of-the-line components. There are three models that are on sale today. The highest end model includes an Intel Core i9-14900HX CPU and RTX 4090 GPU for $3,199.99. The RTX 4090 is still the most powerful mobile GPU on the market, and by a very substantial margin. It's roughly equivalent to a desktop RTX 3090 GPU. If that's beyond your budget, there's also a model equipped with an Intel Core i9-14900HX CPU and RTX 4080 GPU for $2,799.99.
Not all laptop GPUs are the same, even if they share the same name.
There are two important tidbits that deserve mention concerning graphics cards found in laptops. First, mobile GPU variants are not as powerful as their desktop counterparts. For example, a mobile RTX 4060 doesn't perform as well as a desktop RTX 4060. The mobile versions are generally about one to two tiers lower in performance. Using the same example, the mobile RTX 4060 performs more similarly to a desktop RTX 4050.
Second, not all laptops feature the same performance out of the same GPU. For example, the RTX 4060 found in the Alienware m16 will be more powerful than the RTX 4060 found in the Alienware x14. In order to roughly tell how good a GPU will be, you can look at the TGP rating. That's basically the amount of power supplied to the GPU. A higher TGP rating means more power will be delivered, equating to stronger performance, however the wattage consumption and heat generated will be higher. Here are the maximum TGP rates for the RTX 40 series graphics cards:
Mobile RTX 4050: 115W
Mobile RTX 4060: 115W
Mobile RTX 4070: 115W
Mobile RTX 4080: 150W
Mobile RTX 4090: 150W
Dell just dropped the price of one of its best gaming monitors to the lowest price ever, better than even Black Friday or Cyber Monday. Right now you can pick up an Alienware AW3423DWF 34" QD-OLED gaming monitor for only $552.49 after 15% off coupon code "MONITORS15". This is one of Alienware's highest end monitors, with a gorgeous QD OLED panel, WQHD resolution, and a respectable 165Hz refresh rate.
Why Pick a Dell or Alienware Gaming PC?
If you're in the market for a prebuilt gaming PC, Dell is one of best gaming brands we'd recommend. The Alienware gaming desktops offer a staggering array of options, all built into a custom chassis. Alienware gaming laptops in recent years have been redesigned to be thinner and lighter while still offering the same immense power under the hood. Consistent build quality, available inventory, frequent sales, and solid customer service are the main reasons why Dell is at the top of our buying list for gaming laptops and PCs.
