The day has finally arrived – the official reveal trailer for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has released, better yet, the game is available right now on PC, PS5 and Xbox. 

In a behind-the-scenes development video, Todd Howard reflected on Oblivion's 20-year history and the game's position as a defining point in the franchise. The new version aims to keep some of the original's “old charm” intact, according to Todd. The game has a completely fresh look though, with Unreal Engine 5 graphics. The reveal includes comparison footage between the original 2006 game and the new version.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered will include the story expansions Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine, delivering the complete experience from beginning to end. The team at Virtuos describes the remaster as a love-letter to the original and based on the gameplay footage shown, it does look like an impressive upgrade.

Aside from the graphical upgrades, animations have been updated, the UI and UX have been overhauled, combat has received new tweaks and VFX upgrades and some new lines of dialogue have been recorded to aid in differentiating all of the races present in Oblivion.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is available for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S now. It is also available via Game Pass.

We've known for a few years now that Remedy has been working on a multiplayer spin-off set in the Control universe. Last year during the Xbox Partner Preview, that game was officially announced as FBC: Firebreak. Now as we approach launch, Remedy has released the second trailer for the game. 

FBC: Firebreak will see teams of three FBC employees taking down threats throughout The Oldest House. The game's director, Mike Kayatt, was quick to set expectations – this is less of a ‘Control spin-off' and more of its own fully formed game. It just happens to take place in The Oldest House setting.

The new gameplay trailer showcases various weapon types at the player's disposal. In a squad, players will be tasked with keeping the anomalies housed in The Oldest House at bay.

FBC: Firebreak will release on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S later this year. A release date announcement could be coming soon though, as Remedy will be holding a livestream at 6PM BST on the 24th of April.

Every week, Nvidia announces new games getting DLSS support. Things aren't slowing down any time soon, with six more titles set to sport Nvidia's highly-rated upscaling technology.

The big highlight this week is Steel Seed, a stealth-action adventure game set in a dark Sci-Fi world. The game will support DLSS, Frame Generation (RTX 40 only), Multi-Frame Generation (RTX 50 only), and Nvidia Reflex to keep system latency as low as possible.

Tempest Rising, the new RTS game from Slipgate Ironworks, is also getting support for DLSS Super Resolution and Frame Generation.

The newly released remake of one of the 2010s best indie games, The Talos Principle: Reawakened, gets support for DLSS and Frame Generation, but not Multi-Frame Generation. The Early Access release of RuneScape: Dragonwilds has support for DLSS and Frame Generation, and DLAA.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Commandos: Origins round out this week's list of games to get DLSS support.

Bethesda has officially confirmed The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. However, the full reveal won't be happening today as originally thought, instead it will be taking place tomorrow. 

In a tweet this afternoon, Bethesda announced plans for a livestream at 4PM BST on the 22nd of April, which is tomorrow at the time of publishing. The announcement was also shared on The Elder Scrolls social accounts and was accompanied by an image of a warrior looking out to an Oblivion gate. To really get the message across, IV is imposed over the image.

This confirms the recent leaks, all pointing to a new version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion hitting the market. The remaster is developed by Virtuos, with assistance from two of Bethesda's smaller in-house teams. The game looks to offer completely new Unreal Engine 5 graphics.

The game is expected to launch for PC and Xbox, while also being a day-one title for PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. As this is a remaster of an old game, it could potentially come to Game Pass Standard subscribers as well, but we'll have to wait until tomorrow to know for sure.

We are just a few weeks away from DOOM: The Dark Ages launching for PC and consoles. Ahead of the May 15th release, id Software has now revealed the official story trailer for the game. 

The new trailer showcases the Doom Slayer being transported to a new semi-medieval realm where the demons are beginning their invasion. While there will be swords and shields, the Doom Slayer still has access to a wide variety of guns, all of which hell need to take on the incoming demon army.

Canonically, DOOM: The Dark Ages is a prequel to DOOM 2016. The game is coming to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on the 15th of May. It will also be a day-one release for PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers.

By all accounts, today is the day that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered will be officially announced to the world. We've already seen leaked trailer screenshots, as well as references to the game on Bethesda's own website. Now, a little bit of digging in the Steam back-end has revealed a massive 120GB file size. 

According to dataminer XOX, who is primarily known for leaking Marvel Rivals content, installation details on the Oblivion remaster can now be found on the backend of Steam, revealing a 120.94GB total install size for the game.

This is a massive increase over the original game, which took up less than 5GB of storage space. The original Oblivion Game of the Year Edition requires just 4.6GB of storage space, a figure that includes the game's expansion and other DLCs.

Of course, this is a modern day remake of the game, not just a remaster as the game's official title implies. All of the in-game assets have been reworked, as well as the game world, giving it a complete makeover. Previous reports have also claimed that the game's combat system has been changed.

CD Projekt Red at one point had ambitious plans to implement a GTA Online style multiplayer mode for Cyberpunk 2077. However, due to developmental challenges, those plans were scrapped after several years. Now, it looks like CD Projekt Red is reviving its multiplayer plans for the sequel.

Project Orion, the codename for the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, ramped up development in 2024 at CD Projekt Red's new studio in Boston, USA. Originally, Cyberpunk 2077 was supposed to feature its own standalone multiplayer mode, and while it was eventually cancelled, CD Projekt Red executives still have high hopes that the company can push into the multiplayer market with future projects.

According to Game Rant several new job listings have appeared in recent months, seeking developers to work on the Cyberpunk sequel. The studio has been looking for a Lead Network Programmer to spearhead the development of online functionalities, and a more recent job listing for a Senior Gameplay Programmer makes mention of multiplayer as well. Unfortunately, both job listings have since been removed from CD Projekt Red's website, indicating that they've found someone for the position.

With Project Orion / Cyberpunk 2, CD Projekt Red is shifting its development over to Unreal Engine, leaving behind the RED Engine due to the challenges it presented in development. With access to more industry-wide tools and a wider pool of knowledgeable developers, multiplayer Cyberpunk may no longer be the pipe dream it once was.

If you have signed up to DICE's new testing platform, Battlefield Labs, then it is time to check your inbox as EA and DICE have sent out another wave of invites ahead of the next playtest. 

Battlefield Labs launched earlier this year, acting as a new testing platform for DICE to gather player feedback much earlier in the development process. Previously, DICE has held Battlefield beta tests mere weeks before launch, leaving no time for them to pivot or make substantial changes. This has led to several disastrous launch situations, as seen most recently with Battlefield 2046.

The first Battlefield Labs playtest took place earlier this year, featuring a small slice of what DICE is working on for the next major title in the Battlefield series. Another playtest is being planned for the near future. As reported by Insider Gaming, EA has now sent out another wave of invites ahead of the next playtest.

Naturally, inviting members of the public to test the game will inevitably lead to leaks. However, it is worth remembering that we have no idea when the next Battlefield game will actually release, so much of what is being tested now could be experimental and may not make it to the final game.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is due to launch next week according to numerous leaks. These leaks have come from Xbox Support, Bethesda.net and the Virtuos Studios website, indicating a high likelihood of accuracy. Now, the latest leak indicates that the remaster will also include Oblivion's excellent expansions. 

So far through numerous leaks and rumours, we've only heard about and seen portions of the main game. However, according to the folks at the Xbox-focused Defining Duke podcast, the remastered release will include all of the DLC from the original game, that means Horse Armor, the Shivering Isles questline and the game's major expansion, Knights of the Nine.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is a remake of the original 2006 game, featuring enhanced Unreal Engine 5 visuals, improved combat and an adjusted UI. The game is being developed by Virtuos Studios, a company well known for supporting remakes, remasters and other AAA game projects. Aside from Oblivion, the company is also working on the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 3: Delta remake.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is expected to be announced and released next week for PC and consoles.

At Star Wars Celebration this weekend, EA, Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games officially unveiled Star Wars Zero Company. This is a new tactics game, developed by Bit Reactor studios, a game studio founded by former XCOM veterans.

In Star Wars Zero Company, players will step into the shoes of Hawks, a former Republic officer, to command an elite squad of cunning operatives through a gritty and authentic story set in the twilight of the Clone Wars. As an unconventional outfit of professionals for hire hailing from across the galaxy, Zero Company must set aside their differences to overcome nearly impossible odds and take on an emerging threat that will consume the galaxy if left unchecked.

Speaking on the game, Bit Reactor CEO and creative director, Greg Foertsch, said: “Our vision for Star Wars Zero Company is grounded in gameplay design pillars that weave in the immersive Star Wars galaxy with engaging turn-based tactics gameplay. It’s our aim to deliver a game with an original Star Wars story from the Clone Wars era that has meaningful outcomes from player choices, and deep turn-based tactical combat with an approachable and cinematic presentation.”

Like in XCOM, players will be able to customise their squads by changing combat classes, changing character appearance, and mixing things up by recruiting new squad members from various factions to open up new tactical advantages on the battlefield. The game even features XCOM's famous ‘Iron Man' permadeath mode for those who want to turn every skirmish into a high-stakes affair.

Unfortunately, we are still some ways off from getting to play the game. Currently, Star Wars Zero Company is planned to launch on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2026.

A couple of weeks ago, Blizzard unveiled its 2025-2026 roadmap for Diablo 4. One of the more secretive notes on the roadmap was a new IP collaboration event. We've already seen Diablo 4 crossing over with Warcraft for a set of skins, but the next collaboration will be venturing outside of Blizzard's stable of franchises and into one of the greatest dark fantasy manga of all time. 

Blizzard has announced the Diablo x Berserk crossover. The limited time event will see a set of Berserk skins added to both Diablo 4 and Diablo Immortal. A short teaser trailer gives us a sneak peek, confirming that the Barbarian class will be getting armour inspired by Berserk's main character, Guts.

Unfortunately, not much else is known right now. There will likely be a new legendary skin available for each class, just as we saw with the Warcraft crossover. The Barbarian will get Guts' Berserker armour, and his famous sword will also be added to the game. We should see skins inspired by other famous Berserk characters like Griffith, Skull Knight, Zodd and others.

There is no release date yet for the Diablo x Berserk crossover but with the trailer now live, we'd expect to see it within the next few weeks.

Frostpunk 2 is barely six months old but we are already starting to hear about the next installment in the survival strategy series. According to 11bit's latest earnings report, the company is targeting a 2027 release date for Frostpunk 3. 

11bit Studios, the team behind the Frostpunk franchise, has confirmed that a third game is now in the works. In the company's latest earnings report, they confirmed that “the next project set in the Frostpunk universe” is now in development, adding that they plan to launch “as early as 2027”.

The decision to begin work on Frostpunk 3 followed the cancellation of a different game, known as Project 8, a move intended to lower the company's operating costs.

In addition to Frostpunk 3, 11bit Studios is also working on another unannounced game. However, this project is more ambitious and isn't expected until 2029 at the earliest. Nothing else has been revealed publicly about this secret project.

Initially, a game had to be on Game Pass in order for you to stream it via Xbox Cloud Gaming, but now that is no longer the case, with more and more non-Game Pass titles being supported. All you have to do is own the game and from there, you can access it via Xbox Cloud Gaming on TVs, smartphones, console, and virtually any device that supports a web browser.

If the leaked screenshots or Xbox Support leaks weren't enough to convince you, then perhaps this will. Bethesda's own website has now been updated with mention of the Oblivion remake. 

Ahead of next week's reveal, Bethesda updated its website with details about The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. While not public facing, fans seeking further evidence of the game's existence found references to the game using the Inspect Element tool to view the Bethesda.net website's code.

The newly surfaced evidence quickly began doing the rounds on Reddit. This is the latest in an ongoing saga. After leakers first claimed that the Oblivion Remake would be coming this month, fans were sceptical, but then, the Virtuos web admins forgot to make their database private and as a result, trailer screenshots for the new version of Oblivion hit the internet, confirming the news.

Days later, the official Xbox Support account on X responded to a fan confirming that the game would be releasing on the 21st of April, and that it would be a day-one Game Pass title.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is a bit more ambitious than its title implies. VIrtuos has been hard at work completely updating the game's graphics and assets and has made tweaks to combat and other systems. It is far more involved than a simple remaster, which typically sees a game's code being updated to unlock resolutions and frame rates to higher values, with little else changed.

Blooper Team had a very successful 2024 thanks to their well-received remake of Silent Hill 2. Now, Blooper Team is back with a new game in 2025, an original IP called Cronos: The New Dawn. 

In Cronos: The New Dawn players will be sent into the post-apocalyptic future, but thanks to time travel shenaningans, you'll also be spending some time in 1980s-era Poland.

In the gameplay trailer, we learn that defeated enemies may not stay dead for long. If players don't burn their fallen foes, they can be absorbed by other enemies, making them stronger.

The game promises a mix of Sci-Fi, time travel and horror. Cronos: The New Dawn will release for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S later this year.

As the Nintendo Switch 2 uses an Nvidia GPU, we were all expecting the console to support features like DLSS and even G-Sync for Variable Refresh Rate. At first, Nintendo did state that the Switch 2's display was VRR capable, but mentions of the feature have since been scrubbed from the website. 

Variable Refresh Rate comes in handy on consoles when running games at up to 120FPS. Getting a locked 120FPS is a challenge even on PC, so utilising VRR removes issues like screen tearing, keeping the image stable and fluid. With titles like Metroid Prime 4 set to feature 120Hz modes, fans were pleased to see that VRR was supported. Unfortunately, the situation has now taken a turn.

Oliver Mackenzie on X noticed that mentions of VRR have been removed from the Nintendo Switch 2 pages in several regions, including the US, Canada and Japan.

Nintendo has not yet commented publicly on this. Interestingly, the change coincides with another site update, revealing more details on Mario Kart World, which is set to be the Switch 2's major launch title in June.

Any time there is a big, hyped-up game release, scammers are usually lurking with fake beta invites. The Witcher 4 is the latest example of this, with CD Projekt Red warning against fake beta scams for the game.

In a series of tweets last night, CD Projekt Red confirmed on the official Witcher account that scam beta emails are now doing the rounds. This exact same situation took place with Cyberpunk 2077 several years ago, despite the fact that CD Projekt Red had cancelled plans for multiplayer in the game.

At this point in time, The Witcher 4 has no multiplayer component announced. Typically, public beta tests only take place for multiplayer titles, so while there could be a beta for something like Project Sirius, there is no doubt in my mind that there will not be a beta test for The Witcher 4. With that said, CD Projekt Red has kept the door open for potential future betas.

Recently, we've been getting reports from some community members that they've been invited to a beta test of The Witcher 4 — this is a scam! We've been taking the necessary steps to take this fraudulent messaging down. That said, if you receive any invites to or stumble upon news of one, we kindly ask you to report the scam using the tools available to you in your email client or the social media platform you are using. Remember: professional monster slayers don't fall for scams; they see right through them and slay them!”

The door is kept open for official beta tests in the future, with CD Projekt Red adding: “P.S. Should we ever organize any beta tests in the future, you will hear about it first, as always, via our official social media and websites”.

With all of that said, it is still far too early for a publicly playable build of The Witcher 4 to be available. CD Projekt recently confirmed that the game would not be releasing in 2026, meaning it is still at least two years away at the earliest.

Chances are, we'll see similar beta scams playing out later this year in the build-up to Grand Theft Auto 6, so stay vigilant, and always triple check for a spoofed email address in your inbox.

Nvidia has announced the next round of titles for GeForce Now. This week, eleven more games will join the cloud gaming library, including Crytek's much loved extraction shooter, Hunt: Showdown 1896. 

Hunt: Showdown 1896 is coming to PC Game Pass as of today, opening the game up to millions of new players. Those with a Game Pass subscription can link their Xbox and GeForce Now accounts to stream Game Pass titles via Nvidia's cloud gaming service, which in my experience is the superior option for anyone looking to stream games, rather than run them locally. This can be particularly handy for something like the Steam Deck, as you'll get higher performance, assuming your internet connection is good enough to keep up.

Steam has grown from strength to strength since launching in the mid 2000s, building up a hugely loyal userbase along the way, as evidenced by Epic Games' struggles to compete with Steam to this day, despite sinking millions into exclusivity deals. As it turns out, the Steam app has a hidden support page – one that will reveal the exact amount you've spent on games since creating your account. 

My personal Steam account is approaching 20 years old at this point and over that time, I've purchased around 800 games, a number inflated by things like the Humble Bundle. On top of game purchases though, I've also bought a number of DLCs and occasionally, I've paid out for subscriptions and microtransactions for certain titles like Final Fantasy 14 and Counter-Strike 2.

There have been third-party tools that you can use to get an estimate of the value of your Steam library for years, but this is the first time we've been able to get a Total Spend figure straight from Valve.

If you are curious to see how much you've spent on Steam over the lifetime of your account, you can find the hidden support page by heading into Steam, clicking the “Help” button, from there go to Steam Support > My Account > Data related to your Steam account > External funds used.

DOOM: The Dark Ages is just weeks away from release and in the run-up, Microsoft has revealed a new set of special edition controllers. There are two new DOOM themed Xbox game pads hitting the market, and they both look fantastic. 

This is a Limited-Edition Collection, but unlike some other special edition gamepads from Xbox, like last year's Deadpool controller, you won't have to enter a sweepstakes to get hold of one. Both the standard DOOM Edition Xbox Wireless Controller and the Xbox Elite Series 2 DOOM Edition controller will be available to purchase until stocks run out.

The standard edition Doom controller will cost £74.99, with a green Doom Slayer Armour aesthetic, while the Elite Series 2 version will cost £199.99 and has a demonic red makeover. Both look great but honestly, the Doom Slayer armour on the cheaper controller looks so much more iconic in my opinion. If I were to buy one of them, it would be the cheaper green one.

Buying one of these limited-edition controllers will also net you an exclusive Doom Slayer Executioner skin for the upcoming game, Doom: The Dark Ages.

AMD is hard at work on improving its position in the booming AI market. Recently, AMD acquired ZT Systems in an effort to bolster its datacentre and AI efforts. Now, the company has launched a joint engineering partnership with Stability AI to create new models optimised for AMD hardware, improving performance by as much as 4.3x.

Amuse 3.0 is the first AI model to come out of this joint partnership. This AI model is AMD-optimised, so in conjunction with an upcoming driver, AMD users will be able to use this tool for Video diffusion, Video Restyle and over 100 new Stable Diffusion family image models. These are locally run AI tools, helpful for creators looking to speed up their workflow. With Amuse 3.0 and the new AMD driver, users can expect significant improvements of up to 4.3x using these tools locally on AMD hardware.

For those who don't know, Amuse is a Windows PC application that lets you generate, modify and draw images with AI support. It is free to download and supports AMD XDNA Super Resolution too. To take full advantage, you'll need AMD Driver version 24.30.31.05 or higher.

For months, we've been hearing rumours about the Oblivion remake. This week, an update to the Virtuos website revealed several screenshots of the game to the public. Now, Xbox Support is also leaking the game ahead of its announcement. 

X user ‘Raven' messaged the official Xbox Support account, asking if The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered will be available for cloud gaming. After inputting that question, the support account replied by stating that the game is “set to release on April 21st 2025”, adding that it is “confirmed to be a day-one launch title on Xbox Game Pass”.

At first, I thought this may have been an AI-generated reply, as it almost reads like the support account is spewing out information already circulating across the internet, kind of like a ChatGPT response. However, the time gap between the question and the account's response indicates that it may have been a human support worker making their way through the queue of support messages.

Microsoft has not yet made any official announcements regarding the Oblivion Remake. While the graphics we've seen so far indicate a more extensive remake, the marketing team has instead opted to brand this title as a ‘Remaster', despite the fact that clearly, much more effort has gone into this new version of the game. Typically, remasters are associated with simple frame rate unlocks and resolution bumps – something already available to owners of the original Oblivion on Xbox Series X/S. It is clear from the leaked screenshots that we are getting something far more ambitious than a simple resolution and frame rate bump here.

The first RTX 5060 Ti reviews are now live and retail listings have gone up. Here, we take a look through RTX 5060 Ti pricing and availability in the UK, highlighting cards available at MSRP in particular. 

There are in fact several RTX 5060 Ti graphics cards available at MSRP at launch. The MSI RTX 5060 Ti Ventux 2x OC 8GB, Palit RTX 5060 Ti Dual 8GB, Zotac RTX 5060 Ti Twin Edge 8GB and Asus RTX 5060 Ti Dual OC 8GB cards can be found at £349 at SCAN.

Unfortunately, as we learned in our launch review for the RTX 5060 Ti, 8GB of VRAM is not going to be enough for you to really crank settings up in a number of games with patch-tracing. To avoid running into a memory wall, you may want to opt for the 16GB RTX 5060 Ti instead, which holds up better in titles like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

There are several RTX 5060 Ti 16GB cards available at the £399 price point, including the Palit RTX 5060 Ti Infinity 3, the Asus RTX 5060 Ti Dual OC 16GB, the Zotac RTX 5060 Ti Twin Edge 16GB and the MSI RTX 5060 Ti Ventus 2X OC Plus 16GB. From there, we start to see some custom cards breaking into £400 and £500 territory.

The Gigabyte Aero RTX 5060 Ti OC 16GB and MSI RTX 5060 Ti Gaming Trio OC 16GB cards for instance, are currently up for £499, and the Asus RTX 5060 Ti TUF Gaming OC 16GB card is selling for a whopping £549. At that point, you may as well seek out an RTX 5070.

You can find cards at similar prices on OCUK. For instance, the Gainward RTX 5060 Ti Python III 16GB, MSI RTX 5060 Ti Ventus 2X OC 16GB, Gigabyte RTX 5060 Ti Windforce 16GB and Zotac RTX 5060 Ti Twin Edge 16GB cards are available for £399.95.

There appear to be no listings for the entry-level RTX 5060 graphics card yet. This GPU is expected to sell for $299 in the US, which should translate to around £279 to £289 MSRP in the UK.

Alongside today’s launch of the GeForce RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti desktop graphics cards, Nvidia is also rolling out a new Game Ready driver. This driver adds support for both of the new cards in Nvidia's Blackwell line-up, as well as enabling Multi-Frame Generation for another set of games.

There are two titles this week adding support for DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation (MFG) – Black Myth Wukong and No More Room in Hell 2. With Multi-Frame Generation, you can use the Blackwell architecture's improved AI capabilities to generate 3x more frames than an RTX 40 series GPU with Frame Generation.

Additionally, there’s support for 19 new G-SYNC Compatible displays, and six more titles have been updated with Optimal Settings profiles, including the likes of Deadlock, GTA V Enhanced, Half-Life 2 RTX, InZOI, Monster Hunter Wilds and The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered.
