Tons of Final Fantasy Games Are Getting New Price Drops for Black Friday

22 novembre 2025 à 01:00

If you've been waiting for the right time to bulk up your gaming library, now's your chance. While we're still waiting on Nintendo's deals, Xbox and Amazon launched Black Friday sales earlier this week. Now PlayStation has entered the fray with a spread of discounts on games, accessories, and even PS5 consoles.

While it's worth checking your wishlist and doing some scrolling, as a starting point, we're seeing great discounts for anyone looking to start or fill in the gaps on a Final Fantasy collection.

Final Fantasy Games on Sale for Black Friday

Overall, you’ve got options. The PlayStation Store offers the best discounts on the FF7 Remakes, but Amazon is actually offering physical copies. It really comes down to how much you care about having those games lined up on your shelf vs. sitting in your digital library. If you’re on the PC side, Steam is also running a PlayStation publisher sale that includes roughly the same discounts.

The Final Fantasy Pixel Collection is pretty unreal bang for your buck. It includes the pixel remasters of the first six Final Fantasy games for just $30 total with the current price drop, making it a great choice for something you can really dig into over the holidays. The discount also applies to the Nintendo Switch version.

While we wait for news on the third and final part of the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy, you can pick up the first two games at a discount. Remake Intergrade (Intergrade just meaning the PS5 version) has dropped to $19.99 for physical and $14.99 for digital.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, released just last year, has dropped to $39.99 for the physical copy on Amazon and $34.99 through PlayStation. Michael Higham's 9/10 review of Rebirth for IGN describes how it "impressively builds off of what Remake set in motion as both a best-in-class action-RPG full of exciting challenge and depth, and as an awe-inspiring recreation of a world that has meant so much to so many for so long."

The most recent mainline release, Final Fantasy XVI, has dropped to its lowest ever price on Amazon, which happens to be $5 cheaper than you can find it on the PlayStation Store. While outside of Black Friday deals themselves, Amazon does have a teensy tiny 5% discount on the most recent spin-off release, Final Fantasy Tactics: Ivalice Chronicles.

More PlayStation Black Friday Deals

PlayStation has knocked $100 off both its PS5 and PS5 Pro consoles, the only real console deals we’ve so far this Black Friday. There’s also PlayStation Plus discounts and a spread of DualSense controllers on sale, including my personal favorite, the limited edition Ghost of Yotei version.

Apple TV's Black Friday Streaming Deal Knocks Over 50% Off Your First 6 Months

21 novembre 2025 à 23:32

Black Friday is theoretically one of the best times to buy just about anything, but with ongoing price hikes, I’ll be the first to admit it’s getting harder to figure out what’s an actual deal. Rest assured, there is one certainty: Black Friday is always when you’ll find the lowest prices on streaming subscriptions.

While I expect plenty more streaming deals to go live closer to Black Friday, Apple TV has joined Crunchyroll in announcing a discount sooner rather than later. From now until December 1, you can grab six months of Apple TV for $5.99/month.

Save Over 50% on Six Months of Apple TV

Apple TV has always kept it simple with a single ad-free subscription plan. The Black Friday deal offers six months of this subscription at a rate of $5.99/month, adding up to around $36 total. Six months at the regular Apple TV pricing, now $12.99/month after a recent price hike, would add up to around $78, making this over a 50% discount.

The deal is available to both new and returning subscribers, but there are some caveats. If you have Apple TV through a third party, like your internet plan, you unfortunately will not qualify. Same deal goes for if you happen to be eligible for the three-month free trial included with most Apple purchases, which I'd argue is a better deal anyway.

Aside from the $3 increase to its subscription cost, Apple TV also recently removed the “+” from its name as part of an ongoing rebrand. Per Apple's press release, the aim is to foster a "vibrant new identity."

That doesn’t seem to mean too much of a shift in their library. The big Apple TV exclusive right now is Pluribus, a new sci-fi series from Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan that stars Rhea Seehorn. Other Apple TV staples include Severance, Silo, The Studio, and Ted Lasso. It may have a smaller library than something like Netflix, but Apple TV certainly has the juice.

When Does the Apple TV Deal End?

Apple TV states clearly on their site that the deal lasts until December 1 at 8pm PT, meaning this is for sure an actual Black Friday deal. If they happen to drop something better on Cyber Monday (December 2, for reference), I would say that’s just plain rude.

More Black Friday Highlights So Far

On the streaming front, Crunchyroll has launched a Black Friday sale for the anime-inclined, while a Walmart+ deal is currently your best bet for Peacock or Paramount+. Hulu and Disney+ almost certainly have something coming down the pipeline, so I’d hold off on those until next week.

The tech side of Apple has announced Black Friday deals stating on November 28. Otherwise, Amazon has already launched its big sale, which happens to include plenty of Apple products. You can check out our full breakdown of Black Friday for more details.

Crunchyroll Announces Rare Black Friday Streaming Deal for 2025

21 novembre 2025 à 18:04

We're in the seemingly endless saga that is Black Friday season. The Crunchyroll Store has been having Black Friday sales all month long, discounting its spread of DVDs, figures, and anime merch. However, the service has now announced an incredibly rare deal on what I think most people actually use it for: anime streaming. Right now, you can get $20 off annual Mega Fan subscriptions, which already offer some savings over the monthly price.

Get $20 Off 12 Months of Mega Fan Crunchyroll

Now, $20 off a $120 subscription is not exactly incredible in the grand scheme of streaming deals. Over the next week, we’ll likely see closer to 70% discounts on major services like Hulu and HBO Max. However, Crunchyroll has historically been on the Netflix side of things by never discounting their streaming plans, at least not by themselves. As such, $20 off is pretty much the best deal I’ve seen.

Mega Fan subscriptions typically cost $11.99/month, which would add up to a little over $143/year. The annual subscription usually costs $119.99, already offering around a 16% discount over the monthly cost. The Black Friday deal increases that discount to 30%.

Crunchyroll was also kind enough to offer a firm timeline on how long the discount will be available: until midnight on Cyber Monday. This makes it clear that this is the Black Friday deal, and you have over a week to consider scooping it up. If you do get a subscription sooner rather than later, you can stack a 40% membership discount on top of any existing Black Friday deals in the Crunchyroll Store.

You Can Also Get Two Months for $2.99 Through Prime Video

If you are dedicated to the monthly subscription side, you also have options! Amazon’s Black Friday sale has already gone live and features a spread of discounts on Prime Video Channel Add-Ons.

This is really only a deal if you’re already a Prime Member (which is 50% off for anyone aged 18-24), but if the Prime subscription is already baked into your spending bill, you can grab two months of Crunchyroll for $2.99/month. Just try and remember that your subscription will automatically renew at the standard $11.99/month pricing after those two months.

What About the Other Crunchyroll Plans?

The Crunchyroll Mega Fan plan is ideal for anyone who just wants to stream as much anime as possible. You get unlimited, ad-free viewing of everything on the site on up to four devices. You can also download anime to take on the road.

While this mid-tier plan is the only one with a discount, you can still sign up for a seven-day free trial for the cheaper “Fan” plan, which includes ads and a limited library, or the priciest ‘Ultimate Fan’ plan, which now includes access to Crunchyroll manga.

The Grave of the Fireflies Steelbook Has Hit a New All-Time Low Price in Amazon’s Black Friday Sale

21 novembre 2025 à 01:30

Welcome to Black Friday season, where every retailer on the planet drops “groundbreaking deals” and tasks you with figuring out whether they’re actually any good. One of the big ones, Amazon’s Black Friday sale, has already gone live, and it happens to include a solid spread of deals on anime Blu-rays. While the sale largely includes full series or individual seasons, there are a couple of standout movies in there, including a new all-time low price on one of the best Studio Ghibli movies, Grave of the Fireflies.

Grave of the Fireflies Steelbook Drops to New All-Time Low Price

Despite being one of the first movies Studio Ghibli produced, Grave of the Fireflies is the most recent movie from the studio to get a steelbook edition. The steelbook was originally released on July 8, 2025 at a price of $26.98. Since then, a number of deals have lowered Amazon’s ‘typical price’ to $17.89. A Black Friday discount has dropped that typical price even further, to a new all-time low at just $14.49.

IGN’s own Peer Schneider reviewed Grave of the Fireflies when it originally came to DVD in North America back in 2002. He describes how “Takahata tells this story masterfully and with plenty of pathos, without drowning the plot in too many tear jerking moments. But make no mistake about it; this is a sad, sad movie.” To hammer down that last point, the movie also takes top spot on IGN’s list of the best sad anime. Take that as you will.

The Grave of the Fireflies steelbook has a distinct look from the rest of the Studio Ghibli collection, featuring a full spread of a scene on its cover instead of flat background with a minimalist icon. It also comes with a spread of bonus features, including feature-length storyboards and an interview with the director, Isao Takahata. It’s an essential addition to any Studio Ghibli collection and could make a great holiday gift for the weeb in your life.

Should You Wait Until the Real Black Friday?

I don’t see this steelbook going any lower closer to Black Friday. If anything, it could go back up in price (yes, Black Friday is a ridiculous concept). On the other hand, I would definitely expect better discounts on the rest of the Studio Ghibli steelbook collection closer to the big day itself. You can check out our full breakdown of Black Friday 2025 for more details about whats sales are still coming down the pipeline.

Amazon Just Dropped Some of the Best Anime Blu-ray Deals I've Seen for Black Friday

20 novembre 2025 à 20:45

Amazon’s Black Friday sale is officially live. Yes, a week ahead of time. Deals will rotate in and out until the day of Black Friday itself, which does make it a bit challenging to figure out whether you’re actually getting the best possible discount.

One of the big draws of any Amazon sale is the amount of discounts on physical media, and the retailer has highlighted a whole section for Black Friday anime deals. There are hits and misses here, for sure, but I managed to pick out quite a few great deals that are at or very close to their all-time low prices.

Anime Blu-rays and DVDs in Amazon’s Black Friday Sale

As with any Amazon sale, I recommend doing a bit of scrolling and searching for your favorite series. If you're looking for some inspiration, Dan Da Dan is a personal favorite from the past couple years, in large part because I still haven’t gotten the banging intro out of my head. The anime adaptation of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man has also become a massive hit, and the limited edition Blu-ray of Season 1 includes a 72-page Booklet and digital art galleries. Both of these Season 1 releases have dropped to all-time low prices, making them the best deals from the current generation.

From a little further back in the day, you have the combination of anime that got me personally into the medium. Death Note is nothing short of a classic, worthy of a spot on any collector’s shelf. While not quite at its lowest ever price, a 60% discount is nothing to scoff at.

On the wackier side of things, the complete series of Soul Eater has hit an all-time low. I stand by it as one of the greats in large part for having some of the coolest character designs. (Looking at you, Death the Kid).

There’s a somewhat slimmer spread of anime movies on sale, but there are certain deals that are pretty much unbeatable. This includes one of the more recent steelbook releases, Grave of the Fireflies, hitting a new lowest ever price. While the rest of the Studio Ghibli movies have small discounts right now, I’d expect better deals on those closer to Black Friday. (For reference, they're pretty much always on sale.)

What About Streaming?

If you’re not necessarily looking to add to your physical collection, and also happen to have Prime Video, (included in general Amazon Prime subscriptions), you can grab two months of Mega Fan Crunchyroll as a Channel Add-On for $2.99/month. That’s 70% off the standard price of $11.99, but you’ll have to access the Crunchyroll library through Prime Video.

This is as low as you can get the service right now, but there's a small chance we see some sort of discount straight from the anime streaming site closer to Black Friday.

New 4K UHD Movies Drop to $12.99 for the First Time in 2025 and Amazon Can't Match the Price

18 novembre 2025 à 21:55

It’s Black Friday season, which means I am checking Amazon deals on the daily (partially because it’s my job). Today, I noticed some of the biggest 4K releases from 2025 were on sale for particularly low prices. Then I realized they were all specifically releases from good ol’ Warner Bros.

By going straight to the source, namely the official retailer for Studio Distribution Services, Gruv.com, I found the same releases and more for just $12.99 each. This pricing is significantly lower than Amazon and thus where you’ll find the real all-time lows across the board.

Tons of 4Ks Drop to $12.99 at Gruv

If you’re not interested in shelling out for 4K UHD quality, Gruv is also discounting Blu-rays to $9.99 and standard DVDs to $7.99. On the other end of the financial spectrum, limited edition 4K steelbooks (that are often sold out at major retailers) have their own spread of discounts. The deals only apply to existing releases, so unfortunately no savings on preorders like One Battle After Another.

On the plus side, all of these deals are in addition to an ongoing ‘3 for $30’ sale on select titles. All in all, I’d recommend some solid scrolling time. The only catch is these are limited time deals with no specific end date, so you unfortunately have to play a little bit of chicken when deciding how long to wait until checking out. At least there’s free shipping.

In terms of what specifically is available, we might as well start at the top with Ryan Coogler’s Sinners. IGN’s 9/10 review of the movie says Coogler “enters the horror realm and nails it in Sinners, which drops vampires into a deeply personal, heartfelt, emotional, sexy, and bloody story that’ll stick with you.” The music also rocks, and naturally there’s an entire bonus feature dedicated to it. Amazon’s ‘all-time low’ pricing has only dropped the 4K down to $23.49, almost double what you can grab it for at Gruv.

Another 2025 standout is James Gunn’s Superman, the first movie in the DC Studios reboot that made kindness cool again. Just looking at David Corenswet on the cover brings me hope.

While not exactly a critical success, A Minecraft Movie paved the way for a new batch of memes and could make a great gift for any dedicated crafter. The special features here include a 14-minute feature on the cast themselves and the Minecraft server they played on together while filming.

What Is Gruv?

Gruv is a physical media retailer owned by Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. It serves as the retail arm for Studio Distribution Services, a joint venture between Universal and Warner Bros that has slowly but surely expanded its licensing to include Shout Factory, Paramount, and more.

More Black Friday Deals for Movie Collectors

In case you somehow weren’t already aware, one of the best movie sales is also live: the entire Criterion Collection is 50% off at Barnes & Noble through the end of the month. As we get closer to Black Friday itself, expect more deals from Amazon and Walmart.
