Pokémon TCG: Where to Buy Everything From Mega Evolution's Upcoming Perfect Order Expansion

28 février 2026 à 21:00

The pulse of Lumiose City is racing, and for good reason! Pre-orders for the Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution - Perfect Order expansion are dropping ahead of its March 27, 2026, release. This gorgeous new set continues the Mega Evolution hype of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, bringing Mega Zygarde ex into the spotlight.

This guide collects the best deals on the market right now for Pokémon Perfect Order boosters and ETBs, including line-ups, predicted chase cards, and what to expect from this latest collection.

We’ll be regularly updating this page with confirmed deals, so bookmark this page, keep checking back in, and follow @IGNDeals for the latest updates.

What’s in the Perfect Order Lineup?

As the third main expansion of cards from the Mega Evolution Series of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, this set has over 120 cards. There’s plenty to get your hands on, because let’s be real, we’re not just buying one.

  • Booster Packs
  • Booster Boxes (36 packs)
  • Elite Trainer Box
  • Pokémon Center Exclusive Elite Trainer Box
  • Booster Bundle (6 packs)
  • Triple-Pack Blisters (Meganium, Cinderace, Steelix, Clawitzer, Makuhita)

Perfect Order will introduce new mechanics, four Mega Evolution Pokémon ex; nine Pokémon ex; 11 illustration rare Pokémon; 18 ultra rare Pokémon and Trainer cards; and six special illustration rare Pokémon and Supporter cards.Look out for Mega Zygarde ex, Mega Clefable ex, Mega Starmie ex, and the newly revealed Mega Skarmory ex!

Seemingly confirmed via Japanese set lists (M3), which historically dictate about 90% of what we see in our English releases, it will also introduce Telepath Psychic Energy, which provides psychic energy as long as this card is attached to a Pokémon. Neat!

Where to Preorder Pokémon TCG Perfect Order

While preordering ensures you get what you want, there’s no saying what the market will do in the weeks following release. Here are the most reliable sources right now, but we’re still waiting for a few preorders to drop.

TCGplayer

TCGPlayer is a reliable third-party retailer that has all Perfect Order options available for preorder. This is your best option for securing everything at the moment, but only if you're ultimately comfortable with paying over MSRP.

Albeit, compared to previous expansions, Perfect Order's market price isn't that far over standard pricing. For example, a booster box set is running for around $200 right now, about $40 more than Best Buy is selling it for at MSRP.

It's a similar story for the Elite Trainer Boxes, listed at around $100 market price, which is $50 more than MSRP. But, that's already $20 less than the recently released Ascended Heroes, and far better than the average $150-$200 we see more regularly. Hopefully Perfect Order follows the same trend as Phantasmal Flames and drops below $100 soon.

Walmart

Walmart will likely have Perfect Order preorders between now and release day on March 27. To be in the best chance to securing anything at MSRP, you'll need to be a paid Walmart+ member to early access to the drops. No free trial option here, you'll need to be paying for your membership to be in the race.

Pokémon Center US

The classic, and always the first to sell out. You’ll get the absolute best price (MSRP) and the exclusive Pokémon Center ETB, which has two copies of a full-art foil promo card featuring Tyrunt (one with a Pokémon Center logo).

Keep an eye out for restocks as March approaches.

Best Buy

Best Buy often has "Coming Soon" listings, and launches pre-orders closer to release than other retailers. Pre-orders haven’t gone live here yet, so keep checking back.

Remember - it also offers "Pick up in-store" options, which are always popular. If you want to risk it, keep your local Best Buy in mind for release day.

Amazon

Perfect Order is an English curated localization of the Japanese Nihil Zero expansion. Amazon US currently has no listing for Perfect Order. But, we usually see the online retailer begin to stock new sets after release, so keep an eye out through to March 27.

Predicted Chase Cards

We can look at the SAR pull rates from the Japanese Nihil Zero expansion and secondary market prices in Japan to predict chase cards for the US market.

Unsurprisingly, the new Mega Ultra Rare Mega Zygarde ex (card #117/080 in the Japanese set) fetches a pretty penny on Japanese marketplace PokeninJapan thanks to its "Nullifying Zero" attack mechanic. {115/080} Rosa's Encouragement is also trending high.

As the March 27 2026 release draws ever-closer, we’re sure to see more pre-orders dropping. Keep checking back for more information!

The Top 10 Most Iconic Charizard Cards in Pokémon TCG History

27 février 2026 à 17:00

Charizard - love it or hate it, there’s no denying that this Pokémon is an icon in its own right. It may be #0006 in the Pokédex, but it’s #1 in the hearts of Trainers across the globe. Since taking place front-and-center on Pokémon Red’s cover art 30 years ago, this Fire-type is iconic in its own right.

Since its debut in the Base Set of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, back in 1996, Charizard has been printed on a whopping 50 unique cards. But which is the most iconic? Let’s settle it, once and for all.

10. Charizard VMAX (Champion's Path 074/073)

Released in 2020 as part of the beloved Champion’s Path expansion in the Sword & Shield era, the stunning "Rainbow Rare" Charizard VMAX is coming in at number 10.

I love how this card’s distinctive rainbow-foil really brings out its looming Gigantimax figure. While the Pokémon Company has moved away from rainbow secret rares in the Scarlet & Violet era, this Zard Card was many players' first chase card when the hobby boomed during the pandemic.

It maintains a fairly pricey market value of $180 on TCGPlayer - not bad for a card that’s nearly 6 years old!

9. Dark Charizard (Team Rocket 1st Edition #4)

The Team Rocket expansion in 2000 introduced the concept of "Dark" Pokémon to the TCG - Pokémon that had been raised by Team Rocket to be as ferocious as possible. These cards typically had a brown and black artwork window, higher attack damage and lower HPs compared to normal Pokémon.

Frightening stuff, and a great tease into Shadow Pokémon we’d eventually get in Pokémon Colosseum, released in 2003. A 1st Edition Holofoil goes for $674.66, proving this card’s premium status.

8. Mega Charizard X ex (Black Star Promo 023)

Designed by artist Saboteri, this SIR card was the headliner of the gorgeous 2025 Mega Evolution Ultra-Premium Collection. The blue flames of Charizard’s Dragon-type Mega X form, contrasted with the red Japanese text, translated as ‘Inferno X’ - this card’s signature move.

This move allows you to discard any amount of Fire energy from among your Pokémon, and do 90 damage for each card you discarded in this way. It’s not the most expensive card going at $38.53 average, but it is one of the most recognizable.

7. Charizard TG03 Full Art (Lost Origin)

Charizard and the Galar Region Champion, Leon - name a more iconic duo! Based on their dominant appearance in the Pokémon Sword & Shield games and the Journeys anime, this full art card shows off the bond between the two. I particularly love how Leon morphs his hands into Charizard’s claws, and how its attack, Royal Blaze, does 50 more damage for each Leon in your discard pile. It doesn’t fetch the highest price - $29.95 - but you can’t put a price on friendship, can you?

6. Charizard ex Special Illustration Rare (Paldean Fates 234/091)

This scrawling illustration by Akira Egawa shows off the Dark-type Tera Charizard. While fans are torn, calling the design ‘lazy’, I couldn’t disagree more. It fetches a tidy $187.09 on TCGPlayer, proving the appetite is still there for this crystalline card.

5. Charizard VSTAR (Black Star Promo SWSH262)

A battle of legends is automatically iconic - this is exactly how it felt on the playground playing the TCG all those years ago. Originally released in the 2022 Charizard Ultra-Premium Collection, this card features a breathtaking action shot by Kiyotaka Oshiyama. Fun fact - this card connects with the Mewtwo VSTAR card from Crown Zenith.

4. Shining Charizard (Neo Destiny #107)

Neo Destiny introduced "Shining" Pokémon, the first set to use a triple-foil process that made the Pokémon shimmer with a metallic texture. Note - this is not a Shiny Charizard! It actually predates "Shiny" as the term for palette-swapped Pokémon. It's one of the most prized Pokémon cards ever printed. A 1st Edition Neo Destiny Shining Charizard remains a holy grail for collectors, fetching $6,165.99 at time of writing on TCGPlayer.

3. Charizard - Holofoil Secret Rare (Pokemon Skyridge)

Pokemon Skyridge was one of the final sets produced by Wizards of the Coast, meaning this card only ever saw a single print run. Its "Crystal Type" Poké-Body gimmick allowed it to change types based on Energy attachments, which feels very reminiscent of Generation 9’s Tera mechanic - something we’d only see in Generation 9, 20 years later.

2. Blaine's Charizard (Gym Challenge 1st Edition #2)

The English Gym Challenge era let Trainers cosplay as four Kanto Gym Leaders - Blaine, Giovanni, Koga, and Sabrina. Blaine’s Charizard was the undisputed king of the set. With gorgeous watercolour art from Ken Sugimori, it captures the fiery intensity of the Cinnabar Island leader and his loyal Charizard. Leon who?

The 1st Edition card mistakenly prints Charizard with a Fighting energy symbol. Later printings corrected it to Fire, but the first instance of the word "energy" remained lowercase in all printings. These errors have made Blaine's Charizard a hot commodity among collectors, with a 1st Edition Holofoil going for as high as $852.01.

1. Charizard - 1999 1st Edition Shadowless Base Set

Without doubt, Mitsuhiro Arita’s original 1999 illustration is the most famous piece of cardboard in history. This Charizard card is the de facto face of Pokémon TCG. This specific "Shadowless" version lacks the drop shadow on the right side of the art frame, identifying it as a first edition copy of the card. With record-breaking auction prices and universal recognition, it remains the gold standard for Pokémon collectibles.

Pokémon TCG 30th Anniversary Collection Set Teased During Pokémon Presents, Releasing Later This Year

27 février 2026 à 16:51

Early teasers for a 30th Anniversary Pokémon TCG set were shown during the recent Pokémon Presents livestream. It will feature "an exciting line of products" that will be released later this year, with minimal other details revealed so far.

This has the potential to be similar to the "Celebrations" set that was released in 2021 to commemorate Pokémon's 25th anniversary, and featured reprints of iconic cards like Charizard, Blastoise, and more.

Ring in 30 years of the Pokémon TCG! 🎉

To celebrate, an exciting line of products is set for simultaneous global launch in participating markets in 2026. Stay tuned for more details! #Pokemon30 pic.twitter.com/DdCpcpP7DV

— Pokémon TCG (@PokemonTCG) February 27, 2026

13 cards were shown off during the 30th anniversary teaser video, including Pikachu, Arceus, Raikou, Palkia, and several others, all of which could be getting reprints as part of the new set.

Teased with the line "The Future Awaits" were a potential look at new Mew and Mewtwo cards.

Enthusiast Pokémon site Pokebeach has also speculated that the new set will be called "Celebration Collection" that was trademarked back in November last year.

Pokémon TCG has already been rather busy in 2026, releasing its latest Mega Evolution expansion set, Ascended Heroes at the end of January.

Its follow up Perfect Order will be released on March 27, and will be honing in on many of the Pokémon featured in the Legends: Z-A game.

It's also heavily rumored that the set after this will be called "Chaos Rising", and is alledgedly scheduled to release on May 22, 2026. It's suggested this will rumored to be the Western release of Japan’s Ninja Spinner set that spotlights Mega Greninja.

The commemorative Pokémon Day 2026 Collection also dropped not too long alongside Ascended Heroes. It's a small release featuring one confirmed card: a unique stamped foil promo card of Pikachu looking cute as standard, along with a logo’d metallic coin, and a trio of TCG booster packs from different sets.

There's also the highly anticipated Series 1 of the First Partner Illustration Collection for fans to look forward to, releasing on March 20, 2026.

Designed as a celebration of the bonds between Trainers and their First Partner. Each collection includes 1 Promo Booster Pack, where you can pull three of nine illustration rare-style promo cards.

Nintendo Switch Pokémon Games Are on Sale for Pokémon Day

27 février 2026 à 13:30

There's a whole bunch of great deals that are now live for Pokémon's 30th Anniversary celebrations, and that includes some outstanding new discounts on Pokémon games for Nintendo Switch consoles.

Amazon’s Woot store has been known to offer a bunch of deals in the past, but it might just have outdone itself this time around with its brand new "Video Games For All!" sale. The biggest standout is on Legends Z-A, which is down just $35.92 on Nintendo Switch when using promo code LEVEL20.

IGN's Rebekah Valentine gave the game an 8 out of 10 in her review last year, saying “Pokémon Legends: Z-A finally feels like Game Freak hitting its stride in Pokémon’s 3D era, with a fun setting to explore, a well-written story, and a total battle system overhaul that works surprisingly well.”

It now even features in our special 10 Best Pokémon Video Games of All Time roundup, "It may be the most recent game in the franchise, but Pokémon Legends: Z-A is an exciting look into the future of pocket monsters. A total overhaul of the classic 30-year old battle system sees turn-based attack rallies transformed into real-time action sequences, bringing the video games closer to the epic clashes of the beloved anime than ever before."

You can also upgrade to the Switch 2 version digitally as well for just $10 after making your purchase, making this a certified bargain. Plus, Legends Z-A isn't the only game up for grabs at a discount either, as you can also score Scarlet for just $35.99, which is one of the best prices I've ever seen on the Gen 9 game. Violet is also available at a discount, if just a slight bit more expensive at $37.59. Both of these run incredibly on Switch 2, so I'd highly recommend playing them on the new console if you can.

There's also Legends Arceus, Sword, and Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee, all available at a reduced price today. But, and this is a big but, these are certified Pokémon Day deals that will expire by the end of today (February 27, 11:59 PM CT, to be exact). I wouldn't be surprised is several sell out even before then, so act fast to avoid disappointment.

Pokémon TCG: Journey Together Booster Bundles Are Discounted at Amazon Today

27 février 2026 à 11:52

Amazon is going through something of a massive restocking mission this week for Pokémon cards, and it comes at just the right time for Pokémon Day and the 30th anniversary celebrations.

There's a whole bunch of great deals already live (including discounts on cards, games, and toys), but I wanted to draw attention to one of the best deals out there right now as well.

That's on the Pokémon TCG: Scarlet and Violet - Journey Together Booster Bundle, which is now back in stock at Amazon, and with a significant reduction to boot.

Now just $34.97, this is one of the best prices I've ever seen for six Journey Together boosters, and well worth picking up as part of the celebrations today. It includes six boosters, which works out at around $5.82 per pack.

I can also see these selling out fast today, so snap one up ASAP to avoid disappointment.

Market price on these bad boys is around $37.87 right now at TCGplayer, and you're getting free delivery if you're a Prime member. I'd say that's a pretty great offering, all things considered.

Walmart was selling a similar deal earlier this week, but locked access to it initially behind its paid Walmart+ membership. That's frustrating for those who don't already have a membership and don't want to pay an extra $75 to get access to a deal like this.

Thankfully, with the restock at Amazon and the latest discount being price-matched, all Pokémon fans can enjoy the offer today as part of the 30th anniversary celebrations.

But, I must note that this is still slightly above MSRP for a booster bundle ($26.94), so keep that in mind before making your purchase.

Amazon Restocks a Whole Bunch of Pokémon TCG Cards for Pokémon's 30th Anniversary

27 février 2026 à 11:22

There's a whole bunch of great Pokémon deals available right now online as part of Pokémon Day and the 30th Anniversary celebrations. That includes Pokémon TCG as well, with Amazon going through something of a massive restocking mission this week, and at just the right time.

The biggest highlights from Amazon's selection include the Journey Together Booster Bundle, now back in stock, and scoring a sizable reduction. It's now just $34.97 at Amazon, but I can see these selling out fast today, so snap one up ASAP.

Ascended Heroes - Elite Trainer Box, now available and in stock for trainers, matching market price at $119,99 as well, alongside the Pokémon Day 2026 Collection, which, considering the ongoing 30th anniversary celebration, should absolutely be at the top of your buy list right now.

This features a specially stamped foil Pikachu promo card, a metallic coin featuring the 30th anniversary logo, and a random variety of three booster packs from Phantasmal Flames and Mega Evolution.

While the stamped foil promo card of Pikachu isn’t a unique illustration, its status as the first official 30th-anniversary product might be worth something to completionists in a few years. I’d recommend picking up two if you’ve got the space - one to hold onto as an investment, one to rip.

You can also secure both of these at TCGplayer right now at slightly reduced prices (without considering delivery), but I'll leave it up to you to decide where you want to buy today.

Beyond the headliners, it’s also worth flagging last year’s Prismatic Evolution-themed Pokémon Day 2025 collection, which Amazon has quietly restocked at $40.64.

The set comes with two Prismatic boosters, a metallic Eevee coin, and a foil Eevee promo stamped with the Pokémon Day 2025 logo. It pairs nicely with the new 2026 collection if you’re looking to bulk out a themed pickup.

Stock has also resurfaced on a few other notable bits, including the Phantasmal Flames Three-Pack Blister at $32, the Mega Lucario ex Figure Collection, and several Scarlet & Violet Unova-era items like the Poster Box, assorted tins, and the Illustration Collection.

Pokémon's 30th Anniversary Celebrations Kick Off a Whole Bunch of New Deals on Games, Cards, and More

27 février 2026 à 09:00

Pokémon Day 2026 is a particularly special celebration for fans, as it's officially the 30th anniversary of the famous Red and Blue release in Japan in 1996. There's plenty of excitement going into the day, which also makes it one of the best times to check out the best deals on everything Pokémon.

TL;DR: The Best Pokémon Day Deals

Whether that's restocks or price reductions on the latest and greatest Pokémon TCG releases, or some sizable discounts for almost every Pokémon game on Nintendo Switch - I've done the hard work for you, and found the best offerings available today.

Pokémon TCG: Restocks and Best Prices

Quite surprisingly, there's actually a whole lot of great Pokémon TCG restocks and deals available right now online, with Amazon having some of the best around. The online retailer has gone through something of a massive restocking mission this week, and at just the right time.

Pokémon Day Finds at Amazon

The biggest highlights from Amazon's selection include the Ascended Heroes - Elite Trainer Box, now available and in stock for trainers to freely buy. It's matching market price, at $119,99 as well.

There's also the Pokémon Day 2026 Collection, which, considering the ongoing 30th anniversary celebration, should absolutely be at the top of your buy list right now.

Besides those standouts, I also wanted to highlight the Prismatic Evolution themed Pokémon Day 2025 collection that released last year. Listed for $40.64, Amazon has recently restocked the special edition set.

It includes two Prismatic boosters, a special metallic Eevee coin, and a foil Eevee card that features a unique Pokémon Day 2025 logo. That's absolutely worth picking up alongside the new 2026 collection, if I say so myself.

I also want to call out availability on the Phantasmal Flames - Three Pack Blister, for $32, alongside the Mega Lucario ex Figure Collection, and several of the Scarlet & Violet Unova series, like the Poster Box, Tins, and Illustration Collection.

Pokémon Day Finds at TCGplayer

TCGplayer has also pulled out all the stops for Pokémon Day, and has several of the most popular Pokémon TCG sets in stock and at market price.

In terms of sealed sets, I want to highlight the Perfect Order booster boxes, which are currently available for $201.18 market price at TCGplayer. That's a remarkably good price for the upcoming set releasing on March 27, and probably one of the best deals I've seen all year.

Featuring 36 booster packs, you're looking at about $5.50 per pack, which is as close to MSRP as I think we're ever going to get. Compare this to Phantasmal Flames booster boxes, which are currently going for $320 or more, this is a huge saving. I'd snap this up ASAP before prices spike again as we get closer to release day.

My next best suggestion is to consider The Pokémon Center Exclusive Ascended Heroes ETB, which is currently available for just $246.84 market price at TCGplayer. Considering this was selling for $400 just a few weeks back, I'd consider this one of the best deals available right now for the biggest Pokémon TCG fans out there.

Nintendo Switch Games on Sale Today

Amazon’s Woot store has been known to offer a bunch of deals in the past, but it might just have outdone itself this time around with its brand new "Video Games For All!" sale that includes a whole slew of Pokémon games on Nintendo Switch. Just use promo code LEVEL20 to access the new bargains.

The biggest standout is on Legends Z-A, which is down just $35.92 on Nintendo Switch.

You can upgrade to the Switch 2 version digitally as well for just $10 after making your purchase, making this a certified bargain. But, and this is a big but, these are certified Pokémon Day deals that will expire by the end of today (February 27, 11:59 PM CT, to be exact). So, act fast to avoid disapointment.

Pokémon Funkos, Toys and Plushies

I couldn't wrap things up without at least mentioning several amazing Pokémon plushies that are on sale at Amazon right now. That includes an adorable and massive 20-Inch Torchic Squishmallow that's down to just $30.99, which is lowest price in the past 30 days.

There's also a great deal on Lugia and Snorlax 12-Inch plushies, which are just perfect, and also at 30 day price lows right now at $22.99 each (down from $34.99).

It's also worth mentioning the brand new lineup of Pokémon Funkos. A select few are now available, while several others are still up for preorder.

There are some bangers in here as well: an angry, electricity-summoning Pikachu, an angry, vine-summoning Venusaur, and more. Take a look and see if you want to order any from Amazon for Pokémon Day.

Pokémon LEGO Back in Stock and Now Available

There's also a trio of new Pokémon LEGO sets that are now available from today! There’s an adorable Eevee, a dynamic Pikachu, and a pricy (yet incredible) set depicting Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise. All sets are now back in stock and available to purchase, exclusively at the LEGO Store.

My favorite from this is definitely on the Eevee LEGO set. This LEGO version is definitely going to be popular, so I'd snap it up ASAP before it sells out again fast.

We recently built this set as well, so you can check out our full impressions over there. Long story short, it's a gorgeously designed set that manages to turn a pile of blocks into a smooth and fluffy-looking critter. In addition to the loveliness of this set, the price is right as well.

Magic's TMNT Draft Night Box Includes a Collector Booster, and It’s Now Back In Stock With a New Discount

26 février 2026 à 16:13

Magic: The Gathering just kicked off its schedule for 2026 with Lorwyn Eclipsed, but it won’t be long until we’re teaming up with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for their own set in March.

The next set will get its own Draft Night boxed set for players to enjoy right out of the box, and it’s now back in stock at Amazon for the first time in a good while. Here’s what’s included, and how you can save almost $30 as well.

Designed for up to four players, the Draft Night contains 12 Play Boosters and 90 Lands, letting players build decks from, say, three packs each and put them head-to-head.

For context, a Play Booster Box includes 30 packs and is $5 more, but you don’t get the lands or a Collector Booster. Sadly, the Collector Booster is the real value proposition here, because they’re like gold dust.

Collector Boosters include cards that are functionally the same as the cards you’d get from a Play Booster pack, but since they feature foils and alternative art treatments, they’re where you’re much, much more likely to find pricier cards.

The product listing suggests players use the Collector Booster as a prize for whoever wins Draft Night, but I can see scalpers pulling it out and selling it on to make money on the secondary market.

Also in stock, however, is the new Turtle Team-Up. This is a bit of an unknown quantity, offering four 60-card Magic decks, an enemy deck, event cards, and four Play Boosters. It’s a co-operative experience, which is something a little unique, and is selling for $49.99.

Lloyd Coombes is an experienced freelancer in tech, gaming and fitness seen at Polygon, Eurogamer, Macworld, TechRadar and many more. He's a big fan of Magic: The Gathering and other collectible card games, much to his wife's dismay.
