AUSTRUMI 5.2.0

AUSTRUMI (Austrum Latvijas Linukss) is a bootable live Linux distribution based on Slackware Linux. It requires limited system resources and can run on any Intel-compatible system with a CD-ROM installed. The entire operating system and all of the applications run from RAM, making AUSTRUMI a fast system and allowing the boot medium to be removed after the operating system starts.

Libre en Fête - découvrir le logiciel libre à l'arrivée du printemps - du 7 mars au 12 avril 2026

Le Libre en Fête démarre bientôt !

Faire découvrir le logiciel libre et la culture libre au grand public au travers d'événements proposés partout en France, dans une dynamique conviviale et festive : tel est l'objectif de cette initiative de l'April qui existe grâce à la mobilisation des organisations locales de promotion du logiciel libre. L'édition 2026 du Libre en Fête aura lieu partout en France du samedi 7 mars au dimanche 12 avril.

Plus de 110 événements sont déjà référencés dans le cadre de cette édition, et d'autres se rajouteront sans doute au fur et mesure. Un grand merci à toutes les personnes et structures qui organisent ces événements !

Il est d’ailleurs encore temps de proposer un événement dans le cadre du Libre en Fête ! Il suffit d'ajouter le mot-clé libre-en-fete-2026 (sans accent) dans la page d'annonce sur l'Agenda du Libre. L'événement apparaîtra alors automatiquement sur le site de l'initiative.

HackerOS is a live Linux distribution based on Debian's "Testing" branch and designed for regular users, gamers and cybersecurity enthusiasts. Some of its features include an optimised XanMod Linux kernel for faster boot times and reduced resource usage, out-of-the-box support for NVIDIA graphics cards, and a collection of cybersecurity tools, such as enhanced firewalls and intrusion detection software. The distribution uses the KDE Plasma desktop.

Firefox Nova – our first look at the browser’s big redesign

A new-look Firefox is on the way, with Mozilla designers working on a ‘Nova’ redesign that introduces more curves and colour. First reported by tech blogger Söeren Hentzschel, who published several internal design mockups, Nova gives Firefox a more rounded appearance: tabs and the address bar sport uniform radii, and sit in a segmented, floating island UI element. Besgnulinux 3-3

Besgnulinux is a lightweight, desktop Linux distribution based on Debian's "stable" branch. Using the JWM window manager, it is designed to be fast, lightweight and easy to use, suitable for older and low-specification computers. Besgnulinux comes with the Calamares system installer, the Brave web browser, and over 40 custom-built tools to control the systems settings as well as the desktop's look-and-feel.
