Summer Game Fest 2026 officially announced and detailed
Summer Game Fest has pretty much become the de facto video game event of the Summer, with Geoff Keighley’s annual showcase growing every single year – most recently amassing over 50 million viewers. Though still many months away, we now have an official date and place for next year’s SGF: Going live on the 5th of June 2026.
Making the announcement via Twitter, the show’s creator Geoff Keighley officially confirmed that Summer Game Fest 2026 is a-go, writing: “SAVE THE DATE @SummerGameFest streams LIVE on Friday, June 5, 2026. From the iconic @DolbyTheatre in Los Angeles. A spectacular, cross-platform showcase of what’s next in video games. Public tickets available Spring 2026.”
While much of the announcement came as little surprise (with last year’s SGF also taking place on the 6th of June), this will be the first time that the showcase is hosted at the Dolby Theatre, with previous events taking place at the YouTube Theatre.
Though this ultimately shouldn’t make much of a difference, it will be interesting to see how next year’s SGF is formatted – especially as Keighley enjoys his in-person events full of visual spectacle.
While nothing can replace the special moments felt from across decades of E3 events, Summer Game Fest is a solid replacement, and so it is exciting to have official confirmation that it isn’t going away any time soon.
