Beat Saber gets a Coldplay Music Pack next week, and the band's hosting a free concert event on Meta Horizon later this month.

Revealed earlier today, Meta confirmed it's partnering with iHeartMedia to bring Coldplay's worldwide concert tour, Music of the Spheres, to Meta Horizon with a free immersive experience. Kicking off on December 30 at 11am PT, it's using stereoscopic 180-degree VR and that's based on the band's stint at Wembley Stadium.

While the full track list hasn't been revealed yet for Music of the Spheres: An Immersive Experience, Meta confirmed that featured songs include 'Yellow', 'Fix You', 'Viva La Vida', 'A Sky Full Of Stars', and 'feelslikeimfallinginlove'. Free Coldplay avatar merchandise has also been promised, and that's now available via the Avatar editor in VR or the concert pages on iOS and Android.

As for Beat Saber, today's blog post also revealed that the rhythm game's receiving a Coldplay Music Pack on December 18. This includes 12 new songs for $14.99 or $1.99 for individual tracks.

While this introduces a new environment “inspired by the band’s live shows,” it's unclear whether this shares the same track list from the upcoming immersive experience or uses different songs.

Finally, following its original appearance in 2022, Coldplay is also returning to fitness app Supernatural in the US and Canada with three new workouts. Starting on December 29, this includes two multi-intensity Boxing and Flow workouts, which Meta states will blend older singles like 'Fix You' and 'Viva La Vida' with more recent releases like 'feelslikeimfallinginlove' and 'WE PRAY'.

For the past generation or so, Capcom has been in the upper echelon of video game developers / publishers, with many of their titles not only being critical hits, but commercial ones too. While Capcom has primarily focused on its major IPs in recent years, the publisher has expressed interest in bringing the likes of Mega Man and Devil May Cry back into the limelight.

As part of the company’s latest Integrated Report, Capcom COO Haruhiro Tsujimoto revealed that the publisher has plans to revitalise many of its more ‘niche’ franchises, stating:

“We consistently release two to three major new titles each year, but recognize the need to grow our pipeline going forward. Capcom owns a wealth of globally popular brands, such as Mega Man, Devil May Cry, and Ace Attorney. We aim to expand our user base and improve our performance through new releases, remakes, and ports of titles in these series to new hardware. By enhancing brand power and cultivating loyal fan bases, we will grow these into core IPs.”

While Capcom is of course home to many different popular IPs, there are a few which stand above the rest, with the likes of Resident Evil and Monster Hunter dwarfing all other franchises sales-wise.

Given the lineage of Capcom however and the potential within many of their lesser-supported franchises, it is encouraging to see them willing to give some of their more medium-tier IPs a chance to become something greater.

Intel has quietly dropped the most concrete evidence yet that its high-end “Battlemage” discrete graphics card is nearing a formal reveal. In a recent update to its VTune Profiler software, the company discreetly added support for the “BMG-G31” SKU, a designation long associated with the upcoming flagship Battlemage GPU. 

Wccftech shared the updated notes that also mention the upcoming Panther Lake processors. This inclusion suggests that the hardware is finalised (or close to) and is likely undergoing validation. The BMG-G31 silicon is widely expected to power the Arc Battlemage B770, a successor to the current Arc A770. According to the most recent reports, this new flagship will feature approximately 32 Xe2 cores paired with 16 GB of GDDR6 memory across a 256-bit interface. The architecture is also set to support a full PCIe 5.0 x16 connection.

Moreover, new shipping manifests shared by @x86deadandback (via VideoCardz) also corroborate the hardware's existence and provide details on its power requirements. These records indicate a thermal design power of 300 W for this GPU, a considerable increase over the 225 W range seen on the previous Alchemist generation. The increased power suggests Intel is pushing the silicon much harder to extract performance.

With the VTune entry co-listing the GPU alongside next-generation Panther Lake CPUs (powered by Xe3), Intel risks launching its Xe2 discrete cards just as its own mobile silicon moves to a newer architecture. However, with the company recently cracking the 1% discrete GPU market share barrier for the first time since Alchemist's debut, maintaining the momentum could be the key to expanding its share. Given the timing, a reveal at CES 2026 seems plausible.

Fresh leaks surfacing ahead of CES 2026 suggest that Lenovo is preparing to shake up the form factor of high-end gaming laptops once again. According to a recent report, the company is actively developing the Legion Pro Rollable, a machine that ditches the traditional fixed chassis in favour of a motorised, expanding OLED screen.

The promotional materials shared by Windows Latest show that the device functions as a standard 16:9 clamshell laptop in its default state. However, it can mechanically extend outward to a 21:9 ratio. Unlike the vertically expanding ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable that Lenovo shipped previously, this new gaming-focused laptop rolls out horizontally. Small motors drive rails that push the screen outwards to the left and right, transforming the panel, offering the field of view of an ultrawide monitor.

While full technical specifications remain under wraps, the leak points to the inclusion of Intel Core Ultra silicon, probably the upcoming Panther Lake architecture, given the early 2026 timeline. On the graphics side, the Legion branding all but guarantees a discrete Nvidia RTX GPU, almost certainly from the RTX 50-series. The display itself is tipped to be an OLED panel capable of at least 120Hz.

The existence of such a device is less far-fetched than it might appear. Lenovo has already proven it can mass-produce this technology with the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6, which successfully transitioned from a trade show concept to a retail product. Expanding that know-how to a horizontal, gaming-centric layout seems quite feasible for the brand.

Intel's mid-cycle refresh for its desktop Arrow Lake lineup seems to be right around the corner, with the first concrete performance numbers for the unannounced Core Ultra 7 270K Plus appearing on the Geekbench database. This new SKU seems to be a direct replacement for the existing Core Ultra 7 265K, bringing a notable bump in core count and frequency adjustments that aim to refine the platform ahead of the next major architectural shift.

The most significant change revealed by the leaked entry (via Benchleaks) is the processor's core configuration. While the current 265K uses a 20-core layout, the incoming 270K Plus has been upgraded to a 24-core design, comprised of 8 P-cores and 16 E-cores. Adding four extra E-cores aligns the chip more closely with the top-tier Core Ultra 9 in terms of thread count. Beyond the silicon changes, Intel seems to be improving some specifications, with reports suggesting an increase in official memory support from DDR5-6400 to DDR5-7200, alongside a 100 MHz bump to E-core base and turbo frequencies.

The entry shows the chip running on a Gigabyte Z890 Eagle WiFi7 motherboard, with the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus achieving a single-core score of 3,235 and a multi-core score of 21,368. Despite being handicapped by relatively slow DDR5-4800 memory during the test, these numbers represent an uplift of roughly 5.6% in single-threaded tasks and 4.2% in multi-threaded workloads compared to the average scores of the Core Ultra 7 265K. According to the benchmark run, the CPU reached a clock speed of 5.5 GHz.

This refreshed lineup is expected to launch next year on the existing LGA 1851 socket, serving as a drop-in upgrade for current users. By sticking with the “Core Ultra 200” series branding, Intel is signalling that this is an iterative update rather than a new generation.

Crystal Dynamics has been working on the next Tomb Raider game for a few years already. As it turns out, the game is now far enough along for us to get the first official reveal. 

Geoff Keighley has confirmed that one of the surprises planned for The Game Awards this year is a first look at “the future of” Tomb Raider, which he describes as one of gaming's “most iconic franchises”.

While we don't know much about the next Tomb Raider game yet, we do know that it will take more inspiration from the classic games in the series.

The timing of this is all a bit strange, as Crystal Dynamics recently underwent multiple rounds of layoffs. Amazon also massively downsized its gaming division, and Amazon Games is still currently signed on as the publisher for this new Tomb Raider game.

Recently, Bethesda announced plans to bring Fallout 4 to the Nintendo Switch 2 for the first time. It appears that Switch 2 owners will have another Bethesda game to play before then, as Skyrim is now being updated to support the new hardware. 

Skyrim Anniversary Edition for the Switch 2 has officially launched. The new version of the game includes the base game, all three DLCs, and a curated selection of premium mods bundled together as part of the Anniversary update.

If you already own the Anniversary Edition on the Switch, then you can download the Switch 2 edition for free. Unfortunately, if you owned the original Skyrim Special Edition release, you will have to buy the Anniversary Edition to get the Switch 2 upgrade.

The Switch 2 version of Skyrim will include enhanced resolution, faster load times and potentially an increased frame rate. On current-gen Xbox and PlayStation consoles, Skyrim already runs at 60FPS, so it would be nice to see a similar performance mode for the Switch 2.

Back when Aspyr announced Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic for the Nintendo Switch, it also promised to incorporate the cut content mod in an official version of the game for the first time. Unfortunately, this DLC was eventually cancelled and it appears it was Disney that ultimately pulled the plug. 

When Aspyr eventually cancelled the mod's official release, someone filed a lawsuit against them alleging false advertising. Game File has gone through the most recent filings in that case, which included some email chains between Aspyr, Disney and a few creators behind the Restored Content mod. The filings show that while Apsyr was comfortable working with and crediting modders to get this DLC made, it was Disney that got cold feet.

Shortly after the base version of KOTOR 2 released on Switch, Disney's legal representatives told Aspyr that they had to credit real names for the Restored Content mod and could not use aliases. They had also taken issue with the use of non-union voice actors in the restored content mod.

Aspyr had attempted to contact all 22 people involved with the Restored Content mod at various stages since 2004 but was unable to reach everyone. As they couldn't get those creators to sign off, Disney's legal team said that they could not release the DLC as initially planned.

The lawsuit between the fan and Aspyr was also apparently settled out of court, so it will no longer go to trial.

KitGuru Says: The cancellation of the Restored Content mod was a major blow. It would have marked the very first time that this content was playable on a console. Fortunately, you don't necessarily need a good gaming PC to run the PC version of this game, mods included.

For 30 years now, Katsuhiro Harada has helped shape Bandai Namco’s iconic Tekken franchise into what it is today. Known for his personality and dedication to fans, Harada has easily become the face of the Tekken franchise. After 3 decades working on the series however, Harada has officially announced that he is leaving Bandai Namco and Tekken.

Making the surprise announcement on Twitter, Katsuhiro Harada revealed that he will soon be departing from Bandai Namco, writing:

“I'd like to share that I'll be leaving Bandai Namco at the end of 2025. With the TEKKEN series reaching its 30th anniversary—an important milestone for a project I've devoted much of my life to—I felt this was the most fitting moment to bring one chapter to a close.”

The full post is rather lengthy and goes into greater depth regarding this decision, including having “experienced the loss of several close friends in my personal life, and in my professional life I witnessed the retirement or passing of many senior colleagues whom I deeply respect.”

Harada has not yet shared his plans for the future, stating that he will “share more about my next steps at a later date.”

The official Tekken page also shared the news, releasing a message thanking Harada for his decades of work while assuring fans that “we are fully committed to future development and content plans for Tekken 8”. The full statement can be found HERE.

A few months ago, Microsoft officially cancelled its Perfect Dark reboot and closed down the studio behind it, The Initiative. Now, Take Two has hired key former staff members of The Initiative to start a new studio under 2K Games. 

Bloomberg's Jason Schreier broke the news last night, claiming that Take Two had been recruiting former Initiative head, Darrel Gallagher, and Director Brian Horton since Microsoft closed their former studio. Now, the pair will form a new studio within the 2K Games umbrella. Unfortunately, there are no further details yet, so we don't know what the studio will be called, or what kind of games they'll make.

The news follows an earlier report that Take Two had actually been in discussions to take over publishing duties for Perfect Dark, but Microsoft would not agree to sell the IP. As a result, no deal come to be and the project was cancelled for good.

It is unclear if Microsoft will have any desire to return to the Perfect Dark IP in the mid to near future. Considering the amount of money wasted on the most recent revival attempt, I'd guess we won't be seeing Perfect Dark again for a very long time.
