Lollipop Chainsaw is a highly interesting video game. Released back in 2012, the hack-and-slash title was the brainchild of video game director Suda51 and famed film writer/director James Gunn. Over a decade on from its release, a remaster (in the form of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP) finally dropped back in September – to higher-than-expected sales.

As reported by the Japanese publication Gamebiz (and translated by Automaton), Dragami Games’ parent company ‘Extreme’ published their latest fiscal earnings report, revealing that the recently-released Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP has “significantly exceeded initial sales targets.”

The success of the remaster has helped to raise the company’s overall revenue forecast for the year, with a projected 5.9% increase in net sales and a 52.1% boost to net profit – though we did not get any concrete sales figures for the title itself.

Given the fact that the last-gen version of RePOP is set to arrive next month, it’s possible that future projections might need to be reevaluated once again. We will have to wait and see.

Since its launch a couple years ago, SEGA has heavily supported Apple’s Arcade subscription service with new and original games. Following the likes of the well-received Sonic Dream Team, it seems SEGA Hardlight is cooking up a Sonic Rush-styled Apple Arcade experience.

In a now-deleted post to social media (archived by ResetEra user ‘ezidro3’), the developers of Sonic Dream Team ‘SEGA Hardlight’ shared a teaser image of a silhouetted Sonic in the same styling to the DS Sonic Rush series.

Alongside this, the teaser included the Apple Arcade logo (confirming that it will be an iOS exclusive) as well as a 2025 release date.

Sonic Rush is a very different game to Sonic Dream Team (with the former being a 2D pixel-art game for one), and so it will be highly interesting to see what exactly they have planned for this title – whether it will be a remaster/port or a long-time-coming sequel.

We will have to wait until next year to find out. Hopefully it (and Sonic Dream Team) come to more platforms eventually.

In a surprising move, Sony announced a PlayStation-published LEGO game based on its popular Horizon IP earlier this year. Intended to be a more family-friendly conversion of Zero Dawn’s narrative, LEGO Horizon Adventures has just launched for all to enjoy – with critic reviews now out in the wild.

With a MetaCritic score of 71 and an Opencritic rating of 72, LEGO Horizon Adventures has received a somewhat mixed reception, with reviews either skewing to the positive or mixed position – though very few overall negatives.

That said, according to critics, the game does offer a strong showing and will likely resonate well with younger audiences or more casual family members.

Unfortunately, one of the biggest downsides seems to be the game’s short length alongside relatively repetitive gameplay – especially for its asking price of £59.99.

Of course, the game will likely strike a chord with its intended audience of younger players, and so we will have to wait and see what the general public thinks of LEGO Horizon Adventures as more people get their hands on it and play through the full experience.

We've reviewed plenty of QD-OLED monitors this year, both in 4K/240Hz and 1440p/360Hz form. Today we're checking out our first 240Hz ultrawide model though, via Corsair's Xeneon 34WQHD240-C. This is the screen I first got hands-on with back at Computex 2024 and I've been keen to get one in for a proper review ever since.

Initially landing in the UK at £1149, when I started writing this review Corsair had dropped by the price by £170 and the 34WQHD240-C was retailing for £979.99. It has since gone back up to full price, so let's find out what this display has to offer.

In the past year we have seen Xbox begin to open the floodgates when it comes to bringing previous system exclusives to PS5 and Switch. While Microsoft’s CEO has shared some mixed messaging with regards to Xbox exclusives, Phil Spencer has now confirmed that there are no “red lines” when it comes to bringing games to PlayStation/Switch.

In an interview conducted by Bloomberg, the head of Xbox Phil Spencer sat down to discuss a range of topics. Alongside the official confirmation that Micorosft are actively working on a portable Xbox handheld, Spencer offered some insight into their current approach regarding exclusives.

According to Spencer, “I do not see sort of red lines in our portfolio that say ‘thou must not,’” though he did add that “It's too early to make any sort of decision on the next version of Halo.”

Of course, following the porting of Sea of Thieves, Pentiment and Grounded, the PS5 is set to get its first proper taste of the Xbox platform’s shifting plans with the upcoming release of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle – arriving just a few months after its Xbox launch.

As mentioned, the CEO of Microsoft Satya Nadella recently claimed that “Growth of our Gaming business is determined by the overall active user base through Xbox enabled content, availability of games, providing exclusive game content that gamers seek;” quite a contrary state of that of Phil Spencer's.

That said, we’ll have to simply chalk it up to inefficiencies in the messaging pipeline due to Microsoft being a massive $3 Trillion company.

We're half-way through the month, which means it is time for Sony to announce the next wave of titles for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers. In November, players can expect to gain access to some major titles, including the likes of Dying Light 2 and GTA V. 

Grand Theft Auto V returns to the PlayStation Plus library for a limited time, giving subscribers easy access to both the single-player campaign and the online multiplayer mode, also known as GTA Online.

The full list of titles joining the PS+ Extra library next week includes:

At long last, STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is releasing later this month. Just in time for the game's launch onto Steam and Game Pass, the detailed PC system requirements have been revealed. 

A prelimihnary set of PC system requirements were announced earlier in the month, giving us minimum and recommended PC specs. As it turns out, the Minimum and Recommended specs shown at the time are for the ‘Low' and ‘Medium' graphics presets. Now, the developers have also revealed what you'll need to play the game at 1440p and 4K at 60+ FPS.

For months, there have been rumours claiming that Microsoft is working on an Xbox handheld to capitalise on the growing popularity of handheld gaming PCs like the Steam Deck and ROG Ally. Now, Phil Spencer has confirmed that an Xbox handheld is indeed in the works. 

Speaking with Bloomberg this week, Microsoft Gaming CEO, Phil Spencer, confirmed that the Xbox team is working on something for the handheld gaming market. However, despite rumours claiming that this handheld could be just around the corner, Spencer states that such a device is ‘years away'.

It is unclear what hardware an Xbox handheld would sport but given that AMD is already powering Xbox consoles, and many of the current PC gaming handhelds, we can expect Microsoft to partner with AMD again, using one of their powerful mobile APUs.

Microsoft has also been working on improving Windows specifically for gaming handhelds. However, Windows is still far from being a perfect option for a handheld device, something that would have to change for an official Xbox-branded handheld.

KitGuru Says: At this point, I am quite happy with my Steam Deck, but an Xbox gaming handheld would certainly be interesting. If it runs a proper version of Windows, gamers will also be able to use it to play PlayStation games, like God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn and Spider-Man.

Recently, there have been rumours about Blizzard bringing back the original 6v6 format from Overwatch 1. It turns out, we are getting that, but it won't be a permanent change, at least not for now. 

Blizzard has announced that it will be holding an Overwatch: Classic limited time event in Overwatch 2. This event will allow players to play the original maps and heroes from the first game, complete with the old 6v6 gameplay featuring two tanks on each team.

For now, the event will run from the 12th of November until the 2nd of December. However, Blizzard's announcement alludes to the event returning in the future:

“Each Overwatch: Classic event will feature heroes and balance from popular moments in the game’s history”.

The first event features gameplay and characters from the 1.0 version of Overwatch, transporting us all back to 2016, when the game was at its peak popularity and winning GOTY awards.

Capcom has been making moves in the mobile market, bringing AAA titles to iOS and releasing mobile-only games like Monster Hunter Now. Capcom has recently unveiled its next generation mobile Monster Hunter game, which aims to bring the full open-world experience of the main PC and console games to mobile. 

Monster Hunter Outlanders is being developed in partnership with TiMi Studio Group, which has produced major titles like COD Mobile and Pokémon Unite. With Monder Hunter Outlanders, the company aims to bring the full open world Monster Hunter experience to mobile, with different biomes and familiar beasts to take down solo or with friends.

The trailer seems to primarily be cinematic, so it is hard to tell how far along the actual game is. Hopefully though, we'll get more news in 2025.

As Monster Hunter can be a bit of a slow game movement-wise, Capcom is including new traversal mechanics to speed up the process of getting around the map, including a glider to coveer large distances, and a grapple hook, like the one from Monster Hunter Rise, to skip over short distances.

The game will be free-to-play and naturally, that also means in-app purchases. Considering the game will feature crafting and materials, I have some concerns about the potential for MTX in Monster Hunter but hopefully additional purchase items will be limited to cosmetics.

The director behind Devil May Cry 3-5 and Dragon's Dogma 1 & 2, Hideaki Itsuno, has departed from his position at Capcom to form a new studio. His new company, known as Lightspeed Japan Studio, is now working on its first AAA game. 

Lightspeed Japan Studio is an extension of Tencent's AAA game division, with offices in Tokyo and Osaka. Following a multi-decade career at Capcom, Hideaki Itsuno will lead this new studio.

Itsuno released his own statement on the studio unveiling, saying: “Joining LightSpeed Studios is an exciting new chapter for me. With LightSpeed’s strong development capability and global network, I look forward to creating original AAA action games together. We welcome all talented and passionate game creators from the world over to join our vision.”

Unfortunately, the ‘vision' Itsuno speaks of is not immediately clear, as we do not know what this studio is working on yet. Hopefully in a couple of years time, this new studio will be ready to announce its first major project.

After closing the submissions for the GTC 2025, Nvidia has officially announced the event's dates. Nvidia's next GPU Technology Conference will be held from March 17th to the 20th in San Jose, California.

This year's GTC was a success, drawing in 19,000 attendees and featuring over 1,100 presentations. Next year, we expect similar numbers. Like most past events, this annual event will delve deep into the transformative power of GPUs across various industries rather than cater to consumer-focused topics. Still, it's an exciting event for any tech enthusiast who wants to see what's coming next from the green team regarding workstations, AI, data centre and server products, software, etc.

With AI at the centre of the technology world, this year's conference will most likely revolve around it. Attendees can look forward to updates on the Blackwell Ultra and Rubin series, but AI software will certainly also be a part of GTC 2025's talks.

Nvidia is reportedly shifting things up in the production lines as it gears up for the next generation of GPUs. While the official announcement date remains under wraps, industry insiders state that Nvidia could unveil the highly anticipated RTX 50 series in early 2025, with initial product releases expected shortly after.

According to sources from the Board Channels forum (via VideoCardz), Nvidia is reallocating its manufacturing resources to prioritise its new-generation GPUs, leaving only one production line dedicated to the RTX 40 series. This move suggests that production for the RTX 40 series GPUs has stopped, particularly those using AD102, 103, 104, and 106 GPUs. However, the report claims that a single production line of the AD107-based models is still operational, as everything else has been changed to produce Blackwell-based GPUs.

Despite speculation, Nvidia hasn't officially discontinued any GPUs from the RTX 40 series. Still, even if it does, existing stock is sold until depletion, which could take months.

Rumours indicate an early 2025 launch for Nvidia's new generation of GeForce RTX graphics cards, starting off with high-end RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 options, before rolling out RTX 5070 and RTX 5060 in the months after.

Bluepoint Games have been eerily quiet for quite a few years now, with the developer of the Shadow of the Colossus Remake having not released a new title since 2020’s Demon’s Souls Remake. While official information remains light, one insider has claimed that the team’s next project is a completely new IP.

In the wake of the release of the Demon’s Souls Remake, Bluepoint Games confirmed back in 2021 that the team are “working on original content right now” – an odd yet specific phrasing which left enough vagueness to allow the mind to wander.

While Bluepoint themselves have yet to offer any additional clarity, according to known industry insider Jeff Grubb via the Game Mess Mornings podcast, when asked about the team’s current projects, Grubb confirmed that the ‘original content’ which they have been referring to is in fact a brand new IP.

This would mark the first original game from Bluepoint following years of great remasters and excellent remakes.

Based on the prior wording by the studio, some had hoped that Bluepoint might be developing a Bloodborne sequel or something of the like – as it would technically still be considered original content.

That said, it seems as though they are indeed working on a whole new IP. It will be highly interesting to see how their prior experiences help translate into this new IP.

Sonic 06 (known officially as Sonic the Hedgehog) is one of the most infamous games in the history of the industry, with the highly ambitious pseudo-reboot of SEGA’s iconic mascot platformer being hampered by tight deadlines – leading to one of the least optimised games of all time. Even so, the game held a great deal of potential, and so it is interesting to learn that the producer for Shadow Generations seems interested in remaking Sonic 06.

As shared by the Sonic-focused page ‘Tails Channel’, during a recent fan panel multiple high-up members of Sonic Team were present, offering interesting insights into the recently-released Sonic x Shadow Generations.

Curiously, when asked about Sonic’s past titles, and whether the team would consider remastering any of their prior releases, Shun Nakamura (the producer for Sonic x Shadow Generations) confirmed that both old and new games ‘remain appealing’ in this regard.

Most interestingly, Nakamura revealed that he personally wishes for the opportunity to remake the aforementioned Sonic 06.

For the uninitiated, Sonic 06 was intended to be a soft reboot for the series which was made in alignment with the Blue Blur’s 15th anniversary. Unfortunately, due to SEGA wanting the game out in time for the occasion, Sonic 06 arrived as a mostly-broken and highly unoptimised mess – with almost 50% of the entire game time consisting purely of plain loading screens.

Underneath all the issues however, Sonic 06 did hold a great deal of promise, and so the possibility of an official remake from Sonic Team would be highly interesting to see. Hopefully they get the opportunity to rewrite the history of Sonic 06.

Bugsnax became a bit of a viral hit ahead of its launch in 2020 due to the game’s weird concept and incredibly catchy theme song. 4 years on from its release, the team at Young Horses have brought the game back in a surprising way – releasing a free virtual reality update for PC.

Making the announcement on Steam, the team at Young Horses officially unveiled the free VR update (which has been in beta for a while), saying “To celebrate 4 years since Bugsnax’s launch, we’re releasing VR on SteamVR for Windows as a free update for all of you.”

Adding further context, the team continued, “What began as a fun side project by one of our programmers has evolved into a free update for Bugsnax fans! Converting the game from flatscreen to VR felt like a natural fit, especially with the hands-on use of tools and traps that make catching Bugsnax so engaging. Plus, you can now compare your height with all the Grumpus characters. Hint: they’re taller than you think!”

Interestingly, despite being a PlayStation 5 exclusive at launch, the game's VR update will seemingly be a PCVR-only experience, with the team stating “There are currently no plans for other platforms, including PSVR2, Meta Quest standalone, or Apple Vision Pro. Bugsnax was created using a custom game engine, making full porting time-consuming. We intend to update the Windows version of Bugsnax on Epic Games Store to include SteamVR support.”

As mentioned by the team themselves, the concept of Bugsnax would work really well in a virtual reality experience, owing to its focus on exploration and creature capturing – and so this update is highly welcome.

Hopefully the addition proves to be successful enough to warrant a PSVR2 update at some point in the future. Bugsnax is currently 60% off.

The original Dead Rising was an interesting game, with the 2006 title including some unique (though in some ways prohibitive) gameplay mechanics. As part of the latest update for the game’s recently-released ‘Deluxe Remaster’ Capcom have introduced a new Casual Mode option to the game.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Dead Rising page shared the following: “A new update is now available to download for Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, adding general fixes and new features to the game, including:

• Arabic Text Language Support
• New Casual Difficulty
• PlayStation 5 Pro Enhancements”

While the inclusion of Arabic support and the like are certainly worth noting, the biggest addition comes in the form of a Casual Mode, which according to Capcom “is recommended for players who have problems with action games,” in which “Frank also levels up faster.”

Other tweaks include an altering of the frequency and accuracy of the gunfire by Special Forces – among other subtle changes.

The other most notable addition is the support for PS5 Pro, bringing ray-traced reflections to those who own the enhanced console.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster was a surprisingly great and faithful reinterpretation of the original Xbox 360 title, and so it is encouraging to see additional options being added after the fact. Hopefully the game continues to see more post-launch support.

Stellar Blade is one of the most discussed PS5 exclusives of the year. Released back in April, the game saw a great deal of success, helping studio SHIFT UP to expand their team and even take the company public. While they previously expressed interest in bringing the title to PC at some point in the future, studio SHIFT UP have now confirmed their plans for a PC port of Stellar Blade to arrive next year in 2025.

As part of the company’s most recent fiscal earnings report, SHIFT UP were asked about the previously-discussed PC port for Stellar Blade, with them claiming that they plan to release the Steam version at some point next year in 2025.

According to the studio, SHIFT UP expects the sales performance of the Steam release to be even more successful than the PS5 version owing to “the expansion of Steam’s share of the AAA game market and the global box office of Black Myth: Wukong” – alongside its added mindshare thanks to the successful PS5 launch.

In addition, the team also announced that they plan to open a second studio in Los Angeles as part of their overall growth plans. Stellar Blade is also set to get a free update later this month – the full details of which can be found HERE.

The latest SSD to join Klevv's “C” stable of Gen4 drives is the CRAS C925, designed as an upgrade for laptops, Mini PCs and PS5. We put the 2TB version through its paces, priced at $108 in the States, with UK pricing still to be confirmed.

The M.2 2280 CRAS C925 combines a Maxio MAP1602 4-channel DRAM-less controller and 238-Layer 3D TLC NAND. Available in 500GB, 1TB and 2TB (the drive we are looking at here) capacities the drive comes as a bare drive with a separate stick-on aluminium heatsink.

Officially the 2TB CRAS C925 is rated as up to 7,400MB/s and 6,500MB/s for Sequential reads and writes respectively. The 500GB and 1TB drives have the same read rating but with 6,200MB/s and 6,300MB/s respectively write ratings.

The random 4K read performance for the range is quoted up to 670,000 IOPS for the 500GB and 1TB drives with the 2TB drive rated at up to 700,000 IOPS. As for random writes, the 500GB and 1TB drives are rated as up to 980,000 IOPS with the 2TB drive getting a 1M IOPS figure.

The endurance for the 2TB CRAS C925 is 2400TBW, the 1TB drive gets 1200TBW and the 500GB drive 600TBW.

Earlier this year, Ubisoft shut down all online services for its 2014 racing game, The Crew. As an extra step, Ubisoft also went and removed the game from customers' digital libraries. Now, the company faces a lawsuit for making the game defunct. 

Two people who bought the game have filed a lawsuit against Ubisoft claiming the company violated California consumer protection laws. The filing claims that Ubisoft misled customers by not properly disclosing the ‘limited license' nature of their game purchase.

As many gamers already know, digital games have included legal language in their terms and conditions for many years now, stating that users own a license to play the game and not the game itself. Given how common this is, especially in the T&Cs of an online-only game, it seems likely that Ubisoft will be able to use this as part of its defence.

The lawsuit argues that Ubisoft sold players “a key to open the gates of a remote server, which Defendants could on day decide to fail to maintain”.

Following Ubisoft pulling online services for The Crew, a petition known as Stop Killing Games began gaining traction, seeking to obtain political intervention on the issue of game preservation. This also prompted Ubisoft to begin working on an offline mode for The Crew 2 and the most recent game in the series, The Crew Motorfest.

Multiplayer games can also live on for generations by offering gamers the option to host their own servers. This is the exact reason all of Valve's classic games are still playable today, and many other old-school multiplayer PC shooters.
