Sharkoon SGM35 and SGM50W Mice Review

Sharkoon has become a relatively well-known brand in the low to mid-tier of PC gaming peripherals and components. The company's product pricing is typically highly competitive, and that’s not changing with their SGM35 and SGM50W gaming mice. Both share the same core design but the SGM50W is wireless and comes with a magnetic charging dock for just £40. The SGM35 forgoes the wireless connectivity but lowers the price to just £20 for its wired connection. Do you get what you pay for, or is this a bargain you need to know about?

Endorfy debuts new Alt Gray Solum Voice S mic and Viro Plus headphones

Building on the success of the Celeris 1800 keyboard and the Thock V2 lineup, ENDORFY continues to update its line-up with new accessories. The Solum Voice S Alt Gray microphone and Viro Plus USB Alt Gray headphones are now launching.

These peripherals had already released in Onyx White form, but now there is a darker colour option for those who want it. This time around, it is Endorfy's signature Alt Gray finish.

The Solum Voice S Alt Gray is a desktop microphone that captures sound in a cardioid pattern, focusing on your voice while naturally reducing background noise. Dual filters – internal and external foam – keep the audio clean from unwanted distortions. It is also functional right out of the box, requiring no additional software, just adjust the gain dial directly on the mic and hook up to your PC via USB. There is a touch to mute function, and if you need to monitor your audio, there is a direct 3.5mm jack on the microphone too.

The Viro Plus USB Alt Gray headphones are powered by large 53mm drivers. Combined with a dedicated 7.1 USB sound card, you can personalize your sound profile through intuitive software. And thanks to soft memory foam padding and an additional pair of breathable ear cushions, the headphones stay comfortable, even during long sessions.

KitGuru Says: Are you shopping around for new gaming peripherals? Are you considering a new microphone and headphone combo?

Arctic launches new P12 Pro Reverse fans

Arctic is well known for its strong-performing AIO coolers and fans. This week, they are launching their new P12 Pro Reverse fans, adding to the line-up with non-RGB and A-RGB options.

The P12 Pro Reverse fans are specially designed for builds where performance and aesthetics are equally important. They draw air in from the rear – ideal for installation scenarios where fans with classic airflow direction would detract from the look. The P12 Pro Reverse A-RGB is the first model in the series, with non-RGB and 140mm versions to follow.

The Reverse Airflow technology is specifically designed for reverse airflow and is ideal for pull installations and flawless RGB staging. In addition, minimal clearance, automatic balancing, and high-precision measurement reduce vibrations and ensure efficient performance.

The Arctic P12 Pro Reverse fans will be available for $23.99 each, or $51.99 for the 3-pack.

KitGuru Says: Are you putting together a build with reverse-flow fans?

Steam smashes concurrent player record with over 41 million users online

Just seven months after hitting a new peak, Valve's PC gaming platform has done it again. Steam has set a new record for concurrent users, with over 41 million players logged in at the same time this past Sunday, October 12th.

According to SteamDB, while some might be quick to attribute the new record to the ongoing Steam Next Fest, that event didn't kick off until the following day (although some demos were available before its official start). Instead, the massive influx of players can be credited mainly to the hugely successful launch of EA's Battlefield 6, which has clearly brought a massive number of gamers to the platform (peaking at around 650K CCU on Sunday).

Of course, Battlefield 6 didn't achieve this milestone on its own. While the new shooter was a major contributor, sitting comfortably in the top four most-played games, it was the combination of this huge new release with Steam's evergreen titans that pushed the platform over the top. As always, Valve's own titles were a dominant force, with Counter-Strike 2 leading the charge with a peak of over 1.5 million players, followed by DOTA 2 and the ever-popular PUBG: Battlegrounds.

Perhaps the biggest surprise in the top charts, however, is the performance of the new Delta Force. Despite a mixed reception from critics and players on Steam, the game has defied expectations, landing in the top five most-played games over the weekend. The rest of the charts were filled with the usual popular titles, including Apex Legends, Rust, and Grand Theft Auto V, as well as the usual non-game mainstays like Wallpaper Engine and the meme-game Banana.

KitGuru says: This new record is a clear indicator of the incredible health of the PC gaming ecosystem, with massive new launches and long-standing favourites combining to push the platform to greater heights.

PSVR2 Sense controllers will soon be purchasable separately as support for Apple Vision Pro officially announced

Late last year, a rumour popped up claiming that Sony and Apple were planning to partner up, making its PlayStation VR2 controllers available to purchase separately while adding support for the iPhone maker’s Apple Vision Pro VR headset. Finally, in alignment with the announcement of the latest generation M5 Vision Pro, Sony’s PSVR2 Sense controllers are officially being decoupled from the headset itself.

As part of the official announcement for Apple’s latest Vision Pro headset, the tech giant confirmed last year’s rumours which claimed that Sony’s PSVR2 Sense controllers would be updated to support Apple’s VR efforts.

Set to be available to buy from the 11th of November, both previous and current-gen Vision Pro users will soon be able to purchase and connect Sony’s Sense controllers for easier navigation and improved video game support.

Unfortunately it appears as though Apple’s pricing strategies have impacted Sony’s senses, with the Sense controllers coming in at the costly price of $249.95 for a single pair.

PSVR2 Vision Pro

For context, the PSVR2 headset (which includes the Sense controllers and Horizon Call of the Mountain) retails for $399.99, making the value proposition for the controllers alone somewhat jarring.

All that said, PSVR2’s Sense controllers do feature a ton of tech within them, including adaptive triggers; advanced haptics and more – and so they do represent the best VR controllers available right now.

Still, paying nearly 2/3rds the value of PSVR2 for the controllers alone feels like a bit too much.

KitGuru says: What do you think of the Sense controllers? Are they worth the asking price? Let us know your thoughts down below.

Amnesia: The Bunker is free on the Epic Games Store

Each week, the Epic Games Store gives away a title or two for free to all those with an Epic Games account. Following a couple weeks of pretty decent offerings, we’ve now gotten our first major title in some time – with the highly-praised Amnesia: The Bunker available to claim from today for free.

Available to add to your library from today at 4PM UK time, this week’s free Epic Games Store offerings include:

  • Amnesia: The Bunker
  • Samorost 3

The headlining title for this week is Amnesia: The Bunker – the latest entry in the viral first-person horror series from studio Frictional Games. Released back in 2023, The Bunker served as a strong return-to-form for the franchise which had in some people’s eyes gotten less scary in recent entries.

Set in a World War I bunker, this latest title features “a relentless, AI-driven monster” which stalks players throughout – not too dissimilar to the likes of Alien Isolation or Resident Evil 2 Remake.

Samorost 3 meanwhile is a visually-unique indie adventure puzzler from the team behind Machinarium which follows “a curious space gnome who uses the powers of a magic flute to travel across the cosmos in search of its mysterious origins.”

Both Amnesia: The Bunker and Samorost 3 are available to claim and add to your library from today at 4PM UK time up until the 23rd of October. As with all Epic Games offerings however, once you have claimed it, it’s yours to keep forever.

KitGuru says: What are your thoughts on this week’s offerings? Are you a fan of the Amnesia series? How many Epic games have you claimed for free over the years? Let us know down below.

1000xRESIST officially announced for PlayStation and Xbox

One of 2024’s most celebrated games was 1000xRESIST – a “thrilling sci-fi adventure” set 1000 years after humanity was almost entirely wiped out. Unfortunately for some, the indie title was exclusive to PC and the Nintendo Switch. Finally however, the game has now been officially announced for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Game Pass.

Making the official announcement, publisher Fellow Traveller confirmed that the highly-praised 1000xRESIST is finally coming to PlayStation and Xbox next month – officially arriving on the 4th of November.

For the uninitiated, 1000xRESIST is viewed by many as one of the best indie games of last year, amassing a MetaCritic score of 86 while seeing Overwhelmingly Positive reviews on Steam.

Set 1000 years after humanity was almost entirely wiped out, the game offers a story-focused adventure which for some compares to the works of auteurs such as Hideo Kojima and Yoko Taro.

Since its release, the game has gone on to be nominated for multiple different awards, including the Golden Joysticks for ‘Best Storytelling’; the DICE awards for ‘Outstanding Achievement in Story’ and ‘Adventure Game of the Year’ – among others.

Given the game’s undeniable success on the PC and Switch platforms, it is exciting to see 1000xRESIST finally coming to the rest of the consoles in just a few weeks’ time.

KitGuru says: What did you think of 1000xRESIST? Was it your indie game of the year? Let us know down below.

Destiny 2 charity bundle includes all past content and the upcoming Renegades expansion

Destiny 2 is far from being in a good place right now, with the live-service title seeing its lowest player counts in years following the lacklustre Edge of Fate expansion; controversies surrounding the recent Portal addition and much more. That said, Bungie appears to be trying to right the ship. Following a walk back on many of its more contentious changes, the company is now offering a massive charity bundle.

Available to purchase through GreenManGaming, Bungie has released a Destiny 2: Expansion Bundle as part of its ‘Little Lights’ charity initiatives. While a portion of the money goes towards Bungie and GMG, buyers can adjust the amount to allow up to 75% of the proceedings to go to charity.

With that said, the bundle is available to purchase in 4 different forms. Paying £4.50 will get you:

  • Beyond Light Pack
  • Shadowkeep Pack
  • The Final Shape Expansion

Upping the contribution to £7.20 includes the above plus:

  • Forsaken Pack
  • 30th Anniversary Pack
  • Witch Queen Expansion
  • Light Fall Expansion

Destiny Charity

For £16, you’ll also gain access to:

  • The Edge of Fate Expansion

Finally, paying the full £31 gets you all the above plus:

  • Year of Prophecy
    • Includes the upcoming Renegades Expansion
    • Includes 2025’s Reward Passes

As mentioned, Destiny 2 is perhaps in the worst state it’s been both reception-wise as well as player count wise. Though supporting Bungie right now might feel like too much of an ask, having 75% of the cost go towards charity makes the bundle a great deal more palatable – especially as it includes the upcoming Renegades.

KitGuru says: Have you fully left the Destiny 2 station? Do you have any interest at all in Renegades? Can the game be saved in the long-term? Let us know your thoughts down below.

Intel begins laying the groundwork for Xe3P GPUs on Linux

Just as the open-source drivers for Intel's Xe3 graphics devices are reaching maturity, the company's Linux development team is already gearing up for the next generation. The first batch of patches to enable the Xe3P graphics architecture has been fired off, marking the beginning of the long road to supporting Intel's upcoming GPUs on Linux.

With the current focus on finalising Xe3 support for Panther Lake, Intel's open-source graphics programmers are now shifting their attention to the future. A set of 22 patches (via Phoronix) was sent out to the dri-devel mailing list this week, laying the foundational framework for the Xe3P architecture within the Linux kernel driver.

For now, the enablement is purely in the kernel space, which handles the low-level communication with the hardware. The user-space drivers, which are part of the Mesa 3D graphics stack (specifically the Iris Gallium3D driver for OpenGL and the ANV driver for Vulkan), have not yet received any Xe3P-related code. Given the timing, it's likely that this preliminary code will land in the Linux v6.19 kernel, which is on track to be the first stable kernel release of 2026. However, it will take several more kernel and Mesa release cycles before we have full support for Xe3P and all its features are in place.

We expect to see the Xe3P GPU architecture featured in the consumer segment, powering the likes of Nova Lake-S processors and Arc Celestial discrete graphics. As for data centres, Intel has already confirmed that the recently announced Crescent Island will be based on Xe3P.

Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru says: How will Xe3P compare to Intel's current solutions? Can it finally bring Intel's discrete gaming GPUs to higher market segments?

Following on from a leak earlier this week, Sony has now officially announced the next batch of titles for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers. As expected, Silent Hill 2 and Until Dawn will both be on the list, but there are a few extra titles also included that weren't covered in the previous leak.

PlayStation Plus Extra will get a handful of new games on October 1st, including:

  • Until Dawn (PS5)

  • Yakuza: Like a Dragon (PS4 & PS5)
  • Poppy Playtime: Chapter 1 (PS4 & PS5)

Remedy issues ‘profit warning’ as FBC: Firebreak fails to turn around

Remedy Entertainment, the Finnish studio behind Control and Alan Wake, has issued a profit warning after its multiplayer spin‑off FBC: Firebreak failed to achieve expected sales, despite a major post‑launch update.

The company announced that it will recognize a €14.9 million non‑cash impairment, representing the majority of the game’s development and publishing costs. While this impairment does not affect Remedy’s cash position, it significantly impacts its 2025 financial outlook. The studio now expects its operating profit (EBIT) for the year to be negative and below 2024 levels, reversing earlier guidance that had predicted growth.

As spotted by Push Square, FBC: Firebreak had initially drawn in over a million players thanks to its inclusion on subscription services like PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass. However, player numbers quickly dropped off. Remedy attempted to turn things around with a major update, titled Breakpoint, in September. This update introduced new missions and crucially, quality-of-life improvements. This did improve player metrics according to Remedy, but it has not significantly changed the game's sales trajectory.

While Remedy may indeed lose money this year, the studio does have several promising projects on the way. Right now, the studio is deep into development on Control 2, and it continues to work on the Max Payne remakes in collaboration with Rockstar Games.

Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru Says: This may have been the most predictable result for this game. While Control has a fan base, it isn't necessarily a big enough one to necessitate a high-budget co-op spin-off. There was a distinct lack of buzz around FBC Firebreak game prior to launch and the release didn't do anything to change that.

Hacking group claims to have breached Nintendo

Nintendo has suffered a few major cyberattacks before, leading to various leaks. Now, a hacking group has claimed responsibility for a recent attack on Nintendo, although the company has yet to confirm if a breach took place.

The group known as Crimson Collective, which gained notoriety after a recent attack on Red Hat, has claimed that it has managed to breach Nintendo systems and obtain sensitive data.

In a proof screenshot shared by Hackmanac, Crimson Collective claims to have a number of folders containing private Nintendo documents, including production assets.

As pointed out by Tom's Hardware, Nintendo has yet to publicly acknowledge the claim, nor have any of the files leaked. If any customer data was impacted, then Nintendo will have to publicly acknowledge the attack and provide users with steps to secure their accounts.

Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru Says: For now, we don't know if Nintendo was hacked or not. However, we do know that this claim is not linked to the recent Pokémon leaks, which stemmed from a previous cyberattack.

Battlefield 6 reportedly sold over 7 million copies

We already knew that Battlefield 6 was doing well, thanks to the game's record high Steam concurrent player numbers. Now, analysts predict that the game sold as much as seven million copies during its first five days on the market.

As cited by GI.biz, Alinea Analytics estimates that Battlefield 6 sold 7 million units during its first five days on the market, grossing $350 million in revenue. They also estimate that roughly half of the current player base is on PC.

If the figures are accurate, then Battlefield 6 will rank highly as one of the fastest-selling games of the year, beating out the likes of Monster Hunter Wilds and Borderlands 4.

EA will look to continue to grow Battlefield 6 with the launch of a dedicated Battle Royale mode later this month. On top of that, the game will continue to receive seasonal content, including new maps, weapons, game modes and other crucial updates.

Ghost of Yotei sales ‘roughly in line’ with Ghost of Tsushima

We don't have any concrete sales figures for Sony's latest first-party PS5 exclusive, Ghost of Yotei. However, chart tracking data suggests it is doing quite well, and may be the biggest first-party PlayStation title since Spider-Man 2.

The GSD European Chart data has been released. As spotted by VGC, the data shows that Ghost of Yotei's sales are roughly in line with its predecessor, Ghost of Tsushima. It is also the best performing first-party PlayStation game since Spider-Man 2 released in 2023.

EA Sports FC 26 took the number 1 spot in the first week of October, while Ghost of Yotei came in at number 2 on the chart. Despite not reporting digital sales, Nintendo's re-release of Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 for the Nintendo Switch has swiftly risen to the number 3 spot.

Other notable titles in the top ten EU chart for October include Digimon Story: Time Stranger, Doom Eternal, Far Cry Primal, Hogwarts Legacy, Red Dead Redemption 2, South Park: The Fractured But Whole and Final Fantasy Tactics.

Silent Hill 2, Until Dawn and V Rising tipped for PlayStation Plus October update

October is shaping up to be a big month for PlayStation Plus subscribers, with a new leak pointing towards Until Dawn being the big freebie for the month.

Until Dawn first released on PS4 back in 2015. A remake released last year on PS5 and PC, introducing a few new story elements and cut scenes, while also improving the graphics across the full game. If you need a horror game that can eat up your Halloween weekend, then Until Dawn is a very good place to start.

Known leaker, bilbil-kun on Dealabs also reports that Silent Hill 2, As Dusk Falls and V Rising will also be joining this month's PlayStation Plus Extra library update. As for Premium subscribers, they will also get access to two older classics – Tomb Raider Anniversary and Tekken 3.

SteelSeries launches 2nd Gen Arctis Nova 7 with 50+ hour battery life

SteelSeries has unveiled the Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2, a refresh of its popular mid-range wireless gaming headset that launched early last year. The new model significantly boosts battery life and allows you to control audio in real time via a mobile app, all while maintaining the same price point.

Under the hood, the Gen 2 model appears to use the same audio hardware as its predecessor, featuring 40 mm drivers with a standard 20 Hz to 22 kHz frequency response. The main audio features, including the 360° spatial audio, are driven by the extensive DSP and EQ customisation available within the SteelSeries GG and Sonar software suite.

The microphone is the familiar retractable ClearCast Gen 2 with bidirectional noise cancellation. On the connectivity front, the Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2 remains a digital-only headset with no analogue input. It connects via low-latency 2.4 GHz RF using an included USB-C dongle or via Bluetooth. The headset also supports simultaneous RF and Bluetooth connections, which will help you take calls on your phone while gaming.

The headline hardware upgrade is a massive improvement in battery life. SteelSeries is now claiming up to 54 hours of use over 2.4 GHz RF, a significant jump from the original's 38 hours. The headset also supports fast charging, with a 15-minute charge providing up to 6 hours of playtime. The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2 is a solid iterative update, with the much-improved battery life being the key selling point for new buyers. It is available to purchase now in black, white, and pink, with all variants priced at €199.99/$199.99.

Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru says: If you were already inclined to get the Nova 7, the new Gen 2 is pretty much an improvement of it for the same price. However, with the launch of the Gen 2, you might find some older gen models on sale. In that case, it might be worth considering the cheaper option if the additional battery life and software integration don't convince you.

Intel and AMD x86 alliance delivers first major update

A year after the two long-standing rivals put their differences aside to form the x86 Ecosystem Advisory Group (EAG), Intel and AMD have just unveiled the first fruits of their collaboration. The companies are working on new hardware-level memory safety features and standardised instruction sets, creating a more uniform development environment for the future.

Perhaps the most significan addition is ChkTag (via Tom's Hardware), a new memory-tagging instruction set designed to combat common memory-safety vulnerabilities like buffer overflows. By adding tiny tags to memory that are verified directly by the hardware, ChkTag can detect and prevent these exploits at a fundamental level, without the performance overhead of software-only solutions. Binaries compiled with ChkTag support will still run on older CPUs (just without the hardware protection), making it easier for developers to use the new feature.

On the performance front, the advisory group is also bringing much-needed standardisation to the world of high-performance computing. AVX10 and Advanced Matrix Extensions (ACE) are being implemented across the stack, creating a unified standard for 512-bit vector and matrix multiplication instructions. This will make it much easier for developers to accelerate AI and scientific workloads across both Intel and AMD platforms, ending the fragmentation that has plagued previous implementations. A new instruction called FRED (Flexible Return and Event Delivery) is also being introduced as a modernised interrupt mechanism to reduce latency and improve program reliability.

Philips 34B2U6603CH 34in Ultrawide Monitor Review (1440p 120Hz)

Gaming monitors are mostly about quality and response times, but for business users features like a variety of connectivity options can be equally important. The Philips 34B2U6603CH is the first monitor to hit our labs testing bench with Thunderbolt 4 built in, potentially streamlining KVM abilities when you hook up a notebook. But it's also a 34in ultrawide curved screen with support for refresh rates up to 120Hz.

The basic features of the 34B2U6603CH are mostly as expected for a 34in ultrawide screen. The resolution is 3,440 x 1,440, which is spot on for this screen size and aspect ratio. The panel type is VA, which is great for contrast and colour, but not so much for response times. The rating 4ms grey-to-grey, implying that this won't be such an ideal monitor for gamers. Adaptive Sync is also supported, which you'd hope for when a monitor offers 120Hz via Thunderbolt 4 or DisplayPort.

Contrast is rated at 4,000:1. This is also a bright monitor, with up to 450cd/m2 in SDR mode and 550cd/m2 in HDR mode. This enables the 34B2U6603CH to support VESA HDR 400. Philips promises 101 per cent NTSC and 120 per cent sRGB colour gamuts too.

Connectivity is where this monitor really knocks it out of the park, however. You really are spoilt for choice here. On the video side, you get two HDMI 2.0 ports, a single DisplayPort 1.4 and the aforementioned Thunderbolt 4, which also supports data and power up to 96W (enough to charge a laptop). There's a 2.5Gbit LAN port, which will be passed through to a system attached to the KVM hub. You also get a couple of USB Type A and another Type C. There is even a side USB C port plus a couple of Type A ports along with audio out. Just to top it off (literally), hidden in the upper bezel is a pop-up 5Mpixel webcam with microphone and LED indicator. There are stereo 5W speakers too.

This is not a cheap screen, costing towards £600. But for a business user wanting plenty of screen real estate and the option to plug in multiple devices, the Philips 34B2U6603CH has plenty of promise. Read on to find out if it delivers.

Long-time Assassin’s Creed franchise head departs Ubisoft after 20 years

The Assassin’s Creed franchise is in an interesting spot right now. Following the exhaustion felt by some fans regarding the ever-increasing scope of each successive RPG entry, the franchise returned to its roots somewhat with AC: Mirage – only to then go back to its RPG style with the arrival of Assassin's Creed Shadows. One person who has been through it all was Marc-Alexis Côté – the franchise boss for AC. After more than two-decades at Ubisoft however, Côté has now announced his departure.

As reported by IGN, Ubisoft recently sent out an email to developers informing them of this latest leadership shake-up, with a spokesperson telling the publication:

“Following the organizational restructuring announced in March 2025, Marc-Alexis Côté has chosen to pursue a new path elsewhere outside of Ubisoft. While we are saddened to see him go, we’re confident that our talented teams will carry forward the strong foundation he helped build.”

Creed Franchise

As referenced by the spokesperson, Ubisoft and the Assassin’s Creed franchise in particular are going through a transition period of sorts, following the formation of Vantage Studios in a partnership between Ubisoft and gaming giant Tencent.

While we will have to wait to see if and how this changes future AC plans, the series was already shaking things up, most recently releasing a free DLC for the previous Assassin’s Creed Mirage – despite Shadows having been out for months now.

While multiple future AC titles have already been confirmed, it is unknown whether plans will now be changed as a result of Côté’s departure – and whether the recently-cancelled post civil war AC project has anything to do with it.

Sucker Punch boss speaks on the the studio’s future following Ghost of Yotei launch

After a great deal of hype, excitement and anticipation, the follow-up to 2020’s excellent Ghost of Tsushima has officially arrived, with Ghost of Yotei serving as a strong successor to the studio’s PS4 swan song. While work on Yotei is far from over, with the team promising the multiplayer Legends mode for some time next year, fans have already begun to wonder what’s next in store for Sucker Punch. We will have to remain patient, as the studio head has now reaffirmed that Sucker Punch operates as a one-project studio.

Following the successful launch of Ghost of Yotei, Sucker Punch co-founder and studio head Brain Flemming sat down to speak with the publication VGC regarding the game, its development, and what’s next in store for the studio.

According to Flemming: “Whatever we do next, whether it's continuing Ghost or going back to Sly, the decision is really more limited by, again, our cherishing of focus and time to iterate, which means that we really can only do one thing at a time.”

Sucker Punch Yotei

They continued, “If we were good at juggling four projects, yeah, we'd have a remaster, and let's go do one of those, and one of those, and do some fan request, that would be really popular… But we only get to do one thing. So it kind of has to be your best idea, right? And that's really clarifying. It's not like there aren't 15 good ideas. But you only get to do one.”

As referenced by Flemming, some fans are hoping to see Sucker Punch return to their Sly Cooper franchise from the PS2 era. Meanwhile, others wish to see the underrated InFamous series being brought back instead.

While the revival of either series would be a welcome surprise for long-time fans of the studio, it would make sense for Sucker Punch to do whatever makes them feel the most fulfilled. In the meantime, we still have Ghost of Yotei Legends to look forward to.

BluePoint Games job listing hints at a 3rd-person melee-focused action title

Over the generations, BluePoint Games have gone from strength-to-strength, with the studio moving on from simple remasters in the early PS4 era to becoming one of the best teams to go to for an authentic-yet-ambitious remake project. Unfortunately, we’ve heard little from the studio ever since the release of Demon’s Souls back in 2020. That said, the team are continuing to work on something new, with a recent job listing indicating that it might be a 3rd-person melee-focused action title.

As discovered by the publication Tech4Gamers, BluePoint Games recently published a job listing for a Senior Combat Designer. While nothing crazy in and of itself, one of the job’s minimum requirements asks for “Solid understanding of mechanics for 3rd-person melee action experiences” – all-but-confirming that their upcoming project is a 3rd-person melee-focused title of sorts.

BluePoint Melee

For the uninitiated, in the wake of Demon’s Souls release in 2020, BluePoint Games did start to tease their next project slightly. Though never officially announced, it was later reported that the team were working on a live-service God of War title before it was unfortunately cancelled.

Luckily, it appears as though this setback has not slowed the team down too much, with work already underway on whatever is next. Hopefully we learn about this mysterious project sooner rather than later.

Summer Game Fest 2026 officially announced and detailed

Summer Game Fest has pretty much become the de facto video game event of the Summer, with Geoff Keighley’s annual showcase growing every single year – most recently amassing over 50 million viewers. Though still many months away, we now have an official date and place for next year’s SGF: Going live on the 5th of June 2026.

Making the announcement via Twitter, the show’s creator Geoff Keighley officially confirmed that Summer Game Fest 2026 is a-go, writing: “SAVE THE DATE @SummerGameFest streams LIVE on Friday, June 5, 2026. From the iconic @DolbyTheatre in Los Angeles. A spectacular, cross-platform showcase of what’s next in video games. Public tickets available Spring 2026.”

While much of the announcement came as little surprise (with last year’s SGF also taking place on the 6th of June), this will be the first time that the showcase is hosted at the Dolby Theatre, with previous events taking place at the YouTube Theatre.

Summer Game Fest 2026

Though this ultimately shouldn’t make much of a difference, it will be interesting to see how next year’s SGF is formatted – especially as Keighley enjoys his in-person events full of visual spectacle.

While nothing can replace the special moments felt from across decades of E3 events, Summer Game Fest is a solid replacement, and so it is exciting to have official confirmation that it isn’t going away any time soon.
