Noctua has finally released the all-black chromax.black versions of its G2 cooling products. Both the NH-D15 G2 CPU cooler and the NF-A14x25 G2 140mm fans now arrive in a sleek design.

The new NF-A14x25 G2 fan (Sx2-PP also available) features advanced aerodynamic engineering, including an impeller made from Sterrox liquid-crystal polymer (LCP) and a record-tight 0.7 mm tip clearance. The new design allows the G2 models to maintain a performance-to-noise advantage over their renowned predecessors in both high-impedance scenarios (radiators) and airflow-oriented case cooling. The fans also integrate the etaPERF motor and SupraTorque technology, ensuring rotational stability against back pressure.

The NH-D15 G2 chromax.black inherits the further refined heatsink design, which now has eight heatpipes instead of six. Paired with the new NF-A14x25r G2 PWM fans (available separately as a single unit or pair), the all-black version offers the same cooling efficiency as the original brown model. The full chromax.black treatment includes a black-coated heatsink and black fans, delivering the highly requested subtle aesthetic. The cooler ships with the Torx-based SecuFirm2+ multi-socket mounting system, NT-H2 thermal compound, and a full 6-year manufacturer's warranty. Builders can further customise the look with coloured anti-vibration pads, which are available separately.

The NH-D15 G2 chromax.black is available now for €159.90 in Europe or $189.90 in the US. The standalone NF-A14x25 G2 fans are also available in chromax.black finish starting at €39.90/$44.90 for a single unit and €76.90/$84.90 for a bundle of two. Mafia: The Old Country released earlier this year to a solid amount of praise – with one of its biggest detractors being the game’s redundant-feeling open world zone. As was promised, the team have now released a new free expansion improving on this aspect, with the Free Ride Update officially available from today.

Making the announcement, the team at Hangar 13 officially detailed today’s free update, writing: “Free Ride is a callback to the original Mafia’s Free Ride Extreme, as well as the Free Ride mode we shipped in Mafia: Definitive Edition. It’s a collection of Challenges separate from the main story that give players chances to revisit the world in a more self-guided way.”

Going into more depth, they continued, “This time, we’ve constructed several kinds of repeatable Challenges—including combat, stealth, and different race types—in a variety of new and familiar locations. Completing Challenges will earn you the Dinari in-game currency to spend on the new outfits, charms, weapons, and vehicles unlocked by progressing through this content (as well as on items unlocked via the campaign).”

Beyond this, the update is also said to include “a number of other fresh and exciting features” – though this was not elaborated upon.

Following the disappointment that was Battlefield 2042, EA / DICE came back bigger and stronger than ever with the recent release of Battlefield 6. While the game is already a certified success, EA themselves have now claimed Battlefield 6 to be “the best selling shooter game of the year.”

As discovered by Call of Duty leaker CharlieIntel, the main Battlefield 6 page on EA’s website has been updated with a new description.

While in and of itself nothing worthy of note, the updated page states that “There's never been a better time to jump into the best selling shooter game of the year” – the first official confirmation that BF6 has taken the top spot.

For context, it was already reported that Battlefield 6 managed to achieve the biggest launch in franchise history, with the game having sold over 10 million copies since its official launch back in late October.

Of course, we would be remiss not to mention the Call of Duty sized elephant in the room, with Treyarch’s Black Ops 7 having arrived just last week – though to a middling reception on PC at least.

That said, even the worst CODs have historically ended up taking the top spot in the best-sellers list each year, and so we will have to wait and see whether Black Ops 7 winds up outpacing Battlefield 6 by the end of 2025. So far however, Battlefield seems to be leading the pack.

2026 appears to be the year in which last-gen support could finally be winding down, with multiple live-service titles announcing that they will no longer update their games on PS4 / Xbox One come next year. Joining this ever-growing list is Embark Studios’ The Finals – with the PS4 version set to be discontinued this upcoming March.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the team at Embark Studios confirmed that the PS4 version of The Finals (which actually launched AFTER the current-gen versions) will soon be discontinued, writing:

“When Season 10 begins (18th of March, 2026), we'll be retiring THE FINALS on PlayStation 4 and focusing our support on current generation hardware.”

Of course, being an online game, players will be able to continue playing elsewhere, with Embark noting “your progress and purchases will be stored in your Embark ID and will transfer to anywhere you choose to play.”

As mentioned, The Finals is far from the first game to be ceasing last-gen support, with PUBG: Battlegrounds officially moving over to current-gen just last week (and Genshin Impact set to do the same in April of next year).

It will be interesting to see whether The Finals’ switch to current-gen only will allow for more ambitious updates in the future. We will have to wait and find out.

Prior to the game’s official release, the team at Sucker Punch Productions revealed that they plan to support Ghost of Yotei in a similar manner to the previous Ghost of Yotei. While fans will have to wait until next year to get their hands on the promised multiplayer Legends Mode, a major free update is set to arrive early next week – adding a NewGame+ option, extra cosmetics and more.

Making the official announcement on the PlayStation Blog, the Senior Communications Manager at Sucker Punch Productions ‘Andrew Goldfarb’ wrote:

“On November 24, a free patch for all Ghost of Yōtei players will introduce New Game Plus, allowing you to replay Atsu’s quest for vengeance from the beginning with everything you earned throughout the campaign. Yes, that means it’s time to bring a gun to a sword fight, with all of the armors, abilities, and weapons from your first playthrough available from the start of the game.“

Beyond being able to play through the story with all of your upgrades unlocked, the NewGame+ mode introduces quite a lot in the way of new content, including by not limited to:

• A new harder difficulty
• Two additional Trophies to earn (most likely tied to the new difficulty and NG+)
• New Ghost Flower currency
  • Used to obtain additional armour sets, weapon dyes and charms
• The ability to “earn an additional tier of upgrades for your existing armor sets and weapons”

Outside of NewGame+, the update also introduces a number of quality-of.-life improvements, such as:

• Being able to replay post-game content with new player stats
• More accessibility options
• Photo mode expansion with shutter speed, composition grid and more

Ghost of Yotei has had a strong launch so far, matching that of Tsushima despite being available on fewer systems. With this upcoming update arriving so soon (and the multiplayer Legends mode slated for early next year), Atsu still has a ways to go before completing her journey.

Antec has announced the debut of the Flux M case, an mATX chassis designed for high-performance cooling right out of the box thanks to its six pre-installed fans.

The Flux M case is built around Antec's dedicated F-Lux airflow platform. Equipped with six PWM fans out of the box, including three 120mm PWM ARGB fans and three 120mm reverse fans, the case features a multi-directional vent design with large intake ports at the front, bottom, and right side, ensuring continuous airflow. On the left side, there's a tempered glass panel that lets you look at the internals of the system housed in the case.

The vertical cooling approach is based on the large bottom mesh panel. With 20mm of clearance between the GPU and the bottom fans, the reverse fans can deliver targeted and effective cooling directly to the graphics card. Despite its mATX size, the Flux M offers substantial component clearance. It can house motherboards up to Micro-ATX and ITX, supports CPU coolers up to 175mm tall, and fits graphics cards up to 405mm long. AMD's GM and SVP, Jack Huynh, has posted a video teaser confirming the imminent launch of the company's newest iteration of FSR, dubbed Redstone. The Redstone update represents the most significant architectural shift in FSR history, fully leaning into machine learning and AI acceleration.

The teaser doesn't show much besides a few game snippets within the “FSR” logo and a date for the announcement, scheduled for December 10th. In this announcement, we expect AMD to reveal much more information on how FSR Redstone works, whether it will completely replace FSR 4, which GPUs will be compatible with it, and which other titles Redstone will be available for, aside from Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.

For those who don't know what FSR Redstone is, it builds on the machine learning super-resolution introduced with FSR 4 and adds three key innovations. First, AMD FSR Ray Regeneration uses a neural network to reconstruct and filter high-frequency noise from ray-traced data. This functions similarly to Nvidia DLSS 3.5 Ray Reconstruction, helping to improve reflection quality and clean up artifacts from sparsely sampled ray tracing. This feature has already been seen in a limited, early state in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.

Second, we have Neural Radiance Caching, which continuously learns how light propagates within a scene, allowing the system to predict and cache indirect illumination. This is designed to significantly reduce the computational cost of implementing ray-traced global illumination. Finally, ML Frame Generation marks a significant evolution from the interpolation technology used in FSR 3. This new model employs machine learning with integrated temporal and spatial awareness to produce highly accurate intermediate frames.

Just for some context around the pricing, right now AOC’s CU34G4Z is listed at £280 on Amazon and Currys, and while that does appear to be a Black Friday special at the time of writing, PCPartPicker price tracking reveals it’s been selling for under £300 since September anyway, so we’re only talking a £10-20 difference.

That’s still a great price for a curved ultrawide with these specs, too. It was only back in mid-2020 I myself spent £500 on the AOC CU34G2X, also a curved ultrawide but with a slower 144Hz refresh rate – and let me tell you now, the response times on that screen were nowhere near as good as they are with the CU34G4Z!

ArenaNet, a subsidiary of NCSoft, has announced Guild Wars Reforged, an update and modernisation of the classic 2005 MMORPG. The update will be free for all existing owners and will launch on December 3rd for Steam and Windows PC.

The project is a co-development venture between ArenaNet and the small studio 2weeks, which was founded by former ArenaNet developers who worked on the original. This collaboration ensures the game, which has amassed over nine million players since its 2005 debut. The Reforged package will include the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall content, and it will be free if you have at least one of them.

The update's primary focus is on accessibility and visual fidelity. Guild Wars Reforged will officially introduce XInput controller support and be Steam Deck verified. Visual improvements include support for high-DPI displays, new antialiasing options, ambient occlusion, enhanced bloom effects, refined textures, and new HD skill icons. The audio system has also been upgraded with enhanced 3D environmental sound.

For QoL improvements, the update will overhaul the user experience by adding a new quest-tracking system to simplify navigation and implementing high-DPI support with increased font size options for modern high-resolution monitors. New players can purchase the Guild Wars Reforged package for £17.99/$19.99, which is quite affordable given that it includes all three original campaigns.

One of the biggest new innovations seen with the Nintendo Switch 2 is the console’s mouse mode feature – allowing you to turn your Joy-Con onto its side and slide it around like a PC peripheral. While some games have made use of the feature, one title which will not is Resident Evil Requiem; with the game’s producer claiming to have “tried really hard to implement mouse controls for Nintendo Switch 2.”

A major supporter of Nintendo in recent years has been Capcom, with the game developer / publisher releasing a bunch of titles for the OG Switch throughout its lifecycle.

Easily the biggest Capcom game coming to Switch 2 so far is Resident Evil Requiem – coming day-and-date with all other systems in February of 2026.

In an interview with the publication PressStart, Resident Evil Requiem producer Masato Kumazawa was asked about the upcoming game’s Switch 2 release and whether they suffered from any issues during development. According to Kumazawa:

“Looking back on Switch, there were Resident Evil games before on the Switch, so what we did, is we used the past experience of developing these games on the Switch to help develop Nintendo Switch 2. But also, we made a lot of versions of the games for PC as well. In fitting with PCs that have a wide variety of specs, we could also just make sure the game was optimised for the Nintendo Switch 2 too. So it wasn’t too hard, so to speak.”

While it appears so far as though the Switch 2 version should be able to keep up with the rest of the systems, Requiem will not be making use of one of the Switch 2’s most unique features, with Kumazawa adding:

“We tried really hard to implement mouse controls for Nintendo Switch 2. When we put it in, it confused the gameplay and became too complicated. So actually, we are using gyro instead.”

Of course, the inclusion of gyro controls is welcome to see, however it would be interesting to know exactly how mouse mode ‘confused the gameplay’. Perhaps Requiem requires heavy use of the face buttons? We will have to wait and see, but hopefully developers are able to find useful implementations of the Switch 2’s mouse mode as the generation progresses.

One of the biggest surprise hits from the recent rise in adaptations of video games into film/TV was Peacock’s Twisted Metal. Released back in 2023, a second Season was quickly greenlit – arriving just a few months ago. It appears as though Peacock is not done however, with a Season 3 of Twisted Metal now being officially announced,

As reported by the publication Variety, a 3rd Season of Peacock’s Twisted Metal series has been greenlit. This perhaps is not too surprising given the success of the show itself, with July’s Season 2 amassing almost a Billion minutes of watch time – not bad for a show based on a decades old IP with no new entries.

That said, while the series is set to return, its creator will not, with the publication confirming that Twisted Metal’s co-creator and showrunner ‘Michael Jonathan Smith’ has exited the project.

This hopefully should not impact development however, with David Reed (known best for working on The Boys) already announced to be taking over the role of showrunner and executive producer.

As mentioned, the original Season 1 for Twisted Metal was a surprise hit, especially given the less-than-stellar reception towards the show prior to its release.

With two successful Seasons under its belt now (and a third on the way), here’s to hoping that Sony realises the potential within the Twisted Metal franchise.

With Sony’s PlayStation Plus Extra / Premium titles for the month of November now out and available for subscribers to claim, the console maker has confirmed the list of titles which will be removed from the service next month. In a rather major exodus, PS Plus is set to lose a number of notable games, including Sonic Frontiers; Forspoken; GTA 3 Definitive Edition and more.

In going to the last chance to play section on the PlayStation 5’s PS Plus tab, subscribers can find a list of 9 titles which are set to be removed from the service next month (likely mid-December:

• Battlefield 2042
• GTA 3 Definitive Edition
• Arcade Paradise VR
• Sonic Frontiers
• Forspoken
• Star Wars Tales from the Galaxy's Edge
• Firefighting Simulator The Squad
• Surviving Mars
• Star Trek Bridge Crew

While some of these are not too unexpected (such as the removal of Battlefield 2042), Sonic Frontiers leaving the service is certainly a blow to PS Plus.

In addition, while the game’s story and dialogue left a lot to be desired, Forspoken features a fun and unique combat scheme which could be enough of a reason to give the game a go ahead of its removal.

Beyond this, it is disappointing to once again see a number of PSVR2 titles being removed, with Arcade Paradise VR in particular being an unfortunate departee (as well as Star Trek Bridge Crew).

As mentioned however, you still have around a month’s time to play/complete these games before they are removed.

While fans continue to wait for the next mainline entry in Crystal Dynamic’s Tomb Raider series, the franchise itself has been far from quiet – with Lara Croft having received remasters of previous games, an animated Netflix series and the announcement of a live-action show. In another return to past titles, 2013’s Tomb Raider reboot has now been announced and released for the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.

Developed in partnership with Aspyr, 2013’s Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition has been officially announced for the Nintendo Switch and its successor.

Available right now for the price of $19.99 (or $17.99 as part of a launch promotion), the Definitive Edition includes all of the original game’s content, even its oft-forgotten multiplayer mode.

While we did not get any technical specifications, seeing as how Tomb Raider (2013) originally released for the 7th generation of consoles, both the Switch (and especially the Switch 2) should run the game with no issues.

This does beg the question as to whether the Definitive Edition will also be ported over to other modern systems. As mentioned, Tomb Raider was originally a PS3 / Xbox 360 title.

Though it did see some enhancements with the release of the Definitive Edition for the PS4 / Xbox One, the game could certainly benefit from at least a 4K60fps update on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

We will have to wait and see, but given that they have now released the first entry in a trilogy on the Switch, expect Rise and Shadow of the Tomb Raider to be next in line for a port.

A new YouGov study commissioned by FRITZ! highlights that British and European consumers place significantly more trust in routers manufactured within Europe compared to those from other regions. More than half of respondents expressed little or no confidence in routers made in Russia or China.

The survey was conducted throughout August with over 5000 participants across the UK, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Italy. The survey found that only 10% distrust European router makers. By contrast, 48% said they distrust Chinese brands and 55% expressed the same about Russian manufacturers.

In addition to features such as Wi-Fi coverage and speed, consumers in the UK and Europe place great importance on aspects like security, reliability, or price, performance, and service. FRITZ!Box routers achieved the highest Net Promoter Score (NPS) across all countries surveyed, indicating strong likelihood of recommendation among users. The results suggest that European-made routers are not only preferred for performance but are increasingly seen as critical to protecting sensitive data. How Europe can control its digital infrastructure will be one of the main topics at the European Summit on Digital Sovereignty 2025. Speaking on this topic, Fritz! CEO, Jan Oetjen said: “An increasing amount of sensitive data – from online banking to tax returns – is transmitted via our home network. Compromised routers therefore pose an immense threat, as they can be misused as weapons for cyberattacks and malicious traffic is hardly distinguishable from legitimate traffic. Similar to the decisions made in the 5G sector, we must ensure that our routers are secure and remain in European hands to protect our digital freedom.”

Hypixel Studios is making a return after splitting off from Riot Games. Riot had acquired the studio to finish up their game Hytale, but after more than five extra years of work, the game was still no closer to release. Now, Hytale is back in the hands of the original creators, meaning the game is officially ‘uncancelled'. 

Hytale is no longer cancelled. In a new update posted to the game's official website, Hypixel founder, Simon Collins-Laflamme, confirms that he was able to broker a deal with Riot Games to buy back the IP and take back control of the Hypixel studio. Since re-acquiring the game, Hypixel Studios has been on a mission to hire back as many lost developers as possible. Currently, more than 30 former developers are now back on the project.

Speaking on the rare deal, Simon explained that Riot “ultimately wanted what's best for players” and as a result, they agreed to let him take back the studio and IP to start up work on the game once again. Moving forward, Hypixel Studios will be working on a “revised version of the game” as a fully independent studio.

The new version of Hytale will move the game back to the legacy engine, with the goal of fulfilling the original vision for the game, rather than the greatly expanded version of the game that Riot had wanted. Unfortunately, there are no release date plans yet, but Early Access plans are set to be announced “in the coming days”.

Take-Two CEO, Strauss Zelnick, is no stranger to making headlines. While the company's biggest studio, Rockstar Games typically focuses on console game development, before bringing its games to PC later, Zelnick reckons the days of the console are numbered, as the industry shifts more and more towards PC as the leading platform. 

In an interview with CNBC this week, Zelnick discussed his views on the future of the videogame industry. During this interview, he said “I think it's moving towards PC and business is moving towards open rather than closed”.

The comments come just days after Valve made a major hardware announcement, bringing back the Steam Machine as a small, console-sized PC with the full capabilities of a PC and a console combined in one package.

Of course, Zelnick doesn't think the idea of sitting in your living room and playing a game on a large TV is going away. Typically, that is the experience that consoles were created for. However, fully locked-down systems and platforms may eventually be replaced by more open console-like systems like the Steam Machine.

Microsoft is also rumoured to be making massive changes to Xbox consoles for its next-generation systems. It is believed that the next-gen Xbox will actually be a Windows-based PC, with access to services beyond the Xbox store and potentially access to the full Windows desktop as well, but with the default option being a big-screen ‘gaming' UI, as seen on recent devices like the ROG Xbox Ally.

A new report has surfaced claiming AMD is warning its AIB partners of an impending second price increase for its GPUs, this time driven by rapidly rising memory procurement costs.

As pointed out by VideoCardz, the memory market is being squeezed by the AI sector's insatiable demand for HBM and server-grade DDR5. As foundries shift capacity to meet that demand, prices for other components are increasing. Recent reports show DRAM contract prices rising sharply, with GDDR6 seeing an increase of around 30%.

This unconfirmed report comes at a particularly frustrating time for gamers, as prices for certain GPUs had only just begun to normalise after months of inflation. If this report is proven to be true, that price trend will likely revert.

AMD has made no public statement on this and if there are indeed price rises on the way, it could take weeks or months to filter down to the retail market.

Epomaker has announced the TH33, a new compact keypad that packs a numpad, arrow keys, and a function row into a single 33-key unit. The new device features an unconventional southpaw layout, placing the numeric keypad on the left of the arrow keys and the function cluster.

The TH33 is built with a full suite of enthusiast-grade features. Internally, it uses a gasket-mount structure with multiple layers of sound-dampening foam to tune its acoustics. NetEase's new open-world RPG, Where Winds Meet, has had a massive launch, pulling in over 2 million players on its first day. The free-to-play title also peaked at over 193,000 concurrent players on Steam alone. However, given that the game is also available on PlayStation 5, the total player count is significantly higher.

This launch continues the trend of Chinese-developed, mythology-based games finding a major audience in the West, following the success of titles like last year's Black Myth: Wukong and Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. On the first day, as per the developer,  the game peaked at over 170,000 players on Steam, but the number increased to 193,000 the day after, according to SteamDB.

On Steam, Where Winds Meet is holding a ‘Very Positive' rating from almost 15,000 reviews (at the time of writing). Players are widely praising the high production value of its open world, noting that it feels more like a premium product than a free-to-play game. The single-player campaign's story and deep, complex systems have also been highlighted as strengths, though some new players find the game's depth daunting at first.

However, one specific feature is proving highly divisive. Where Winds Meet uses AI-powered chatbots for some of its NPCs, a design choice some players are not a fan of. Although the game clearly identifies which NPCs are AI-driven, many players feel that this feature detracts from the game's realism and breaks immersion.

The next wave of titles for Game Pass has been announced. Following on from this month's release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, nine more games are also set to join the library, including day-one releases like Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault and Marvel Cosmic Invasion.

Marvel Cosmic Invasion is a retro-inspired beat em' up, where players will take control of their favourite Marvel superhero and progress through a series of levels. It arrives following a recent resurgence for this genre, thanks to titles like TMNT: Shredder's Revenge and Streets of Rage 4.

Here is the full list of titles joining Game Pass over the next two weeks, including supported platforms and dates:

As always, there will also be a handful of games leaving the Game Pass library. At the end of this month, two of my favourites will be leaving the library – Octopath Traveler 1 & 2. The other three games leaving the service include Lords of the Fallen, Barbie Project Friendship and Steamworld Build.

InWin has announced the launch of the Dlite, a new ATX chassis that borrows design cues from its existing Dubili line but aims for a more lightweight footprint. Available in Mocha Bronze and Lilac Silver colourways, the case features a distinctive wave-pattern front panel accented by a brushed aluminum strip.

The Dlite is built to accommodate modern build standards, featuring support for back-connect ATX motherboards. This allows for cleaner cable management by hiding connectors behind the motherboard tray. The chassis offers substantial clearance for high-end hardware, supporting graphics cards up to 380mm in length across its eight expansion slots.

The case can house up to ten fans in total and ships with four pre-installed XM120 fans, a model currently exclusive to this chassis. For liquid cooling enthusiasts, there is room for a 360mm radiator at the front and another 360mm or 280mm radiator at the top. As for air cooling, there's space for a CPU tower up to 165mm tall.

To assist with the build process, InWin has included a pre-installed fan hub capable of managing four sets of PWM and ARGB connections. The front panel also features a dedicated LED control button that cycles through 17 lighting presets. Moreover, there are a couple of magnetic dust filters to prevent dust from getting into the system. The InWin Dlite is available immediately in Europe through the company's eStore, priced at €129.

Yoko Taro made a name for himself thanks to the highly-successful release of NieR: Automata back in 2017. While the director has since gone on to work on a number of projects, none have been as ambitious as the PlatinumGames-developed genre-bending action-adventure title. It appears as though this wasn't for lack of trying however, with Taro revealing that “a lot of projects I was involved in” ultimately wound up being cancelled.

Taking part in a discussion panel at the Korean video game convention ‘G-CON 2025’, NieR creator Yoko Taro was asked about their current work and upcoming projects. According to the director (as transcribed by 4Gamer and translated by the publication Automaton):

“I often get told stuff like ‘Why aren’t you making a new sequel to NieR’ or ‘Yoko Taro isn’t doing anything,’ but that’s because recently, a lot of projects I was involved in got discontinued midway through development.”

He continued, “I’ve actually been working on some stuff, it’s just that it never ended up seeing the light of day. I got paid for it, so I personally have no issues with that, but people seem to think that I haven’t been doing anything just because none of the work I’ve done is being released. I don’t view that as a negative thing. I believe that if I’m going to release something  weird, I’d be better off not releasing anything at all.”

As mentioned, since the release of Automata in 2017 Yoko Taro has not been static, with the director having worked on a number of mobile exclusives including SINoALICE; NieR Reincarnation and Voice of Cards.

That said, with NieR: Automata far exceeding expectations with over 9 million copies sold, here’s to hoping that one of Yoko Taro’s cancelled projects was not the much-requested NieR 3.
