MSI brings its latest refresh to Socket AM5 and we're starting with the sub $300 offering that boasts a 64 MB BIOS, PCIe Gen 5 SSD and GPU support plus Wi-Fi 7 and a snazzy all-white color scheme. It does come with a price premium, though, so is it worth it?

The Sapphire Nitro+ B850M Wi-Fi is a great option for budget builders, delivering solid performance and a sleek design. With PCIe Gen 5 support and good SSD cooling, it excels in its price range, particularly in Europe. While it misses Wi-Fi 7, its features offer excellent future-proofing for your setup.

Another ASRock motherboard that packs in a generous set of hardware features despite a sub-$200 price tag. It also offers impressive VRM and SSD cooling. The Livemixer is not without its niggles, but you do get an awful lot of motherboard for the money.

NZXT finally adds AMD's B850 chipset to its line-up with attractive white and black models, and while it arrives fairly late in the AM5 cycle, the $200 price tag and its unique approach might just be convincing enough to square up to some very stiff competition.

Balancing daily driver credentials with potent overclocking features is no easy task, but ASRock claims to have blended its popular Taichi brand with tools focused on extreme CPU and memory overclocks. We'll see if it has truly mastered everything in just one PCB.
