Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana Review – A Classic Reborn

Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana

Despite being one of the longest-running JRPG series still active today, Falcom's Ys series started seeing some measure of success only recently, but this wasn't caused by an increase in the quality of newer entries in the series over the older ones, as Adol's adventures have always been extremely fun to play through and generally well-received by the dedicated fan base, with only a few exceptions. One of these exceptions is the third entry in the series, Wanderers from Ys, a game that wasn't as well received as the first two entries in the series due to the fact that […]

Maxsun iCraft Z890 Arctic Motherboard Review – White Aesthetics Straight Outta North Pole

The Intel LGA 1700 platform was launched three years ago in 2021 and it has since seen a total of 3 generations of CPUs, Alder Lake (12th Gen), Raptor Lake (13th Gen), and Raptor Lake Refresh (14th Gen). We have seen at least three generations of motherboards, first with the 600-series which had Z690 as the top SKU, and then two generations of 700-series based on the top Z790 chipset which included a soft refresh for the 14th Gen lineup. Intel has now introduced its next-generation 800-series chipsets and with the Core Ultra 200S CPU series, the company is also […]

ASRock SL-1000G 1000W Power Supply Impressions - ATX 3.1 & PCIe 5.1 For Under $150 4

ASRock recently entered the PSU segment with a diverse range that caters to all kinds of PC users. The entrance into the PSU lineup was a bit of a surprise but not entirely unexpected given that the manufacturer was expanding its component lineup such as gaming monitors and Mini PCs and as we always say, the more the competition and options in the PC industry, the better for consumers. So today, we will be taking a look at one of the 17 models featured in the ASRock PSU lineup and it falls in the Steel Legend "Mainstream Durable" tier. Our […]

AWOL Vision LTV-3500 PRO Review: 4K Projector And Thunderbeat Combo For Ultimate Experience

AWOL Vision LTV-3500 Pro (2)

Using a projector for home theatre is the ultimate way of immersing yourself in the movies and games, and there is no better way than to do it on a big screen. However, there are several challenges one has to face when the screen is large and the room is well-lit. Perhaps, one of the apparent solutions to such a requirement is using a 4K projector with high brightness. One such projector is AWOL's Vision LTV-3500 PRO, which succeeds the LTV-3500, retaining most of the specs but bringing several new improvements, including Dolby Atmos. It's something that isn't made for […]

Infinity Nikki Review – What Dreams Are Made Of

Infinity Nikki

Typically, I don't do gacha games. The way they work just doesn't gel with me, as I don't want to get sucked in and end up spending money on it, especially when there are tons of other games that I can play where I don't need to spend money to get ahead or be better in the game. Luckily, Infinity Nikki's gacha system is pretty fair compared to some of the others on the market right now. For the most part, there isn't a bad thing I can say about Infinity Nikki, as it is much like the games I […]

Forever Skies Review – Apocalyptic Adventure

Forever Skies

Jumping into Forever Skies, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. From the title alone, I was expecting some sort of War game, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out it was a post-apocalyptic survival game that takes place on Earth. There were two significant periods in which I played the game. The first was during the initial Early Access period, and the second was after the co-op update was released. During these times, the changes made were incredibly obvious, and for the most part, they made the experience a lot smoother and more user-friendly. Games like this can […]

Flint: Treasure of Oblivion Review – A Sinking Ship

Flint: Treasure of Oblivion

While a pirate-themed setting is perfect for video games, titles that allow players to travel on the high seas in search of adventure and treasure are very difficult to come by nowadays. For this reason, Flint: Treasure of Oblivion by Savage Level caught the eye of more than a few players with its setting, story, and characters, as well as for its tactical gameplay, which combines a somewhat straightforward turn-based combat system with features lifted from trading card games, with a sprinkle of tabletop RPGs features on top, such as visible die rolls for attacks and defense. While all of […]

OXS Thunder Pro + Soundbar Review – Striking a Note Too High

Established in 2021, OXS is dedicated to providing gamers with a comprehensive gaming audio experience, and delivers, alongside home cinema products, audio solutions for gaming. Products include the Storm G2 wireless headset, the Thunder Lite compact gaming soundbar, and the Thunder Pro soundbar. Intel Arc B580 Limited Edition 12 GB “Battlemage” Graphics Card Review – A New Mainstream King

Intel entered the discrete graphics card market two years ago with its Alchemist architecture. The launch was highly anticipated, as the company entered a market dominated by NVIDIA and AMD for decades. But not everything went as planned. Intel's Arc A-series "Alchemist" graphics cards launched after much delay & even a delayed launch couldn't help the blue team's case as it was plagued with severe driver issues, software problems, and general gaming issues. This left a sour note in the minds of folks who had been waiting to see what Intel had to offer. Following the launch, there were several […]

The Thaumaturge Review – A Promising RPG Practice Run

The Thaumaturge

In 2022, CD Projekt Red announced a remake of the first entry in The Witcher franchise was in the works at developer Fool’s Theory, to which many fans replied, “Who the heck are Fool’s Theory?” The Polish developer has actually been around for a while. They made the interesting sandbox cRPG Seven: The Days Long Gone, although that happened seven years ago. Since then, they have mostly supported other big projects like Baldur’s Gate 3 and Silent Hill 2. Earlier in 2024, Fool's Theory finally released a new title called The Thaumaturge, an isometric RPG set in early-20th-century Warsaw. The […]

Fairy Tail 2 Review – Saving the World and Not Much Else

Fairy Tail 2

Despite some of its shortcomings, such as the excessive amount of busywork for quests, guild development, and other mechanics that dragged the experience down, the first proper adaptation of Fairy Tail in JRPG form developed by Gust managed to be rather successful, mostly thanks to the faithful rendition of the charming characters created by Hiro Mashima. Still, no one expected the game to receive a sequel, so its announcement earlier this year came as a complete surprise. Adapting the Alvarez Arc, the seventeenth and final story arc of the main series, Fairy Tail 2 also attempts to address the most […]

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Review – Indiana at His Finest

Xbox Series X Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Fans of Indiana Jones haven't exactly been swimming in great new entries for many years now. The adventure franchise was created by George Lucas in the eighties with three highly successful movies. Then, all those who loved the scruffy but charming professor of archaeology portrayed by Harrison Ford had to wait for nearly twenty years to get Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It wasn't until last year that another sequel, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, was released. It featured Harrison Ford's final appearance, and the reception wasn't nearly as great as the previous installments. Gamers have recently suffered […]

FANTASIAN Neo Dimension Review – Final Fantasy in All But Name

FANTASIAN Neo Dimension

Since Hironobu Sakaguchi left Square Enix to create his own development studio, Mistwalker, the Final Fantasy series has never been the same. Although debating the quality of individual titles past the ninth entry in the series, the last the franchise's creator worked on, has never produced an actual consensus, there's no denying that the little spark that made Final Fantasy one of the most loved Japanese role-playing game series ever made went away together with the series creator. This has been made painfully clear by FANTASIAN, Mistwalker's return to a classic JRPG formula after a while. Originally released in two […]

Wayfinder Review – Sickeningly Vibrant

Wayfinder

I've played a lot of ARPGS throughout the years, from spending a disgusting amount of time in Path of Exile to dipping my toes into Diablo. However, all of them have that same feel that makes them enjoyable and has a unique aesthetic to the ARPG genre that isn't really seen in other genres. Playing Wayfinder surprised me because it doesn't feel like an ARPG to me, at least in the classic sense of the genre. Instead, to me, it felt more like the kind of game you'd see ported to mobile as a MOBA. It gave me similar vibes […]

STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl Review – The Anomaly Never Changes

STALKER 2

Yes, I've played STALKER 2's final version. It's real, and yet it feels surreal to write this review after all the problems this project has gone through across more than a decade. This could have easily gone the way of Duke Nukem Forever, and I'm glad it didn't. We first heard the name STALKER 2 fourteen years ago, just a few months after the launch of Call of Pripyat. GSC Game World founder and CEO Sergiy Grygorovych commented that the franchise's four million sales more than warranted a proper sequel, which the developer estimated to be coming in 2012. Unfortunately, […]

KLEVV Genuine G560 2 TB PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD Review – Genuinely Performant

KLEVV Genuine G560 2 TB PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD Review – Genuinely Performant 1

In early 2023, we got our first taste of the latest PCIe Gen5 NVMe SSDs, offering up to 10,000 MB/s read and write capabilities. These drives were fast but we knew that faster drives would be entering the market sooner or later as the technology matured. Furthermore, Gen5 platforms are more accessible to a wider range of audiences with the introduction of mainstream AMD & Intel motherboards. While offering 10 GB/s speeds as a start, SSD manufacturers have quickly started rolling out faster drives by optimizing thermal designs and utilizing enhanced NAND solutions. Lego Horizon Adventures Review – A Toy Aloy Trifle

Lego Horizon Adventures

Sony’s Horizon franchise has always felt like it had the potential to tap into a younger demographic, what with its plucky youthful protagonist, largely bloodless robot dino combat, and environmental messaging, but Sony never really pitched the games that hard toward kids – until now. This week sees the release of Lego Horizon Adventures, which reassembles 2017’s Horizon Zero Dawn into a plastic-y kid-friendly form. Will Lego Horizon Adventures attract a whole new audience to Aloy’s exploits? Or does Sony’s arrow fall short of the intended target? Time to break this blocky adventure down. Lego Horizon Adventures sticks to the […]

AUKEY MagFusion GameFrost Wireless Charger Review – Fast, Cool, and Built for Gamers

AUKEY has just introduced its new MagFusion GameFrost wireless charger as part of its Omnia-Frez series, bringing some serious heat (rather, the opposite) to the wireless charging category. The company's Omnia-Frez lineup includes three products, but the one we will focus on is the most crucial one, especially for mobile gamers. The AUKEY MagFusion GameFrost wireless charger is designed to offer advanced cooling features with MagSafe compatibility and seamless Qi2 support for a wide range of devices. With a price tag of $42.99, the wireless charger delivers excellent value to a specific niche. The company is also offering a 10% […]

Alaloth: Champions of the Four Kingdoms Review – A Bold Blend

Alaloth: Champions of the Four Kingdoms

Combining classic and modern game design sensitivity and featuring a world created in collaboration with Chris Avellone, Alaloth: Champions of the Four Kingdoms looked, right from its reveal, as a game that could bring a welcome breath of fresh air for top-down role-playing games. The most intriguing feature of the role-playing game by Gamera Interactive is definitely its combat system inspired by FromSoftware's Souls series, but labeling the game as a simple isometric Soul would be a disservice, as it has a lot to offer besides its involving combat system which comes together really well, despite some issues here and […]

Crucial 32 GB DDR5-6400 CL52 Memory Review – Baseline CUDIMM

Crucial 32 GB DDR5-6400 CL52 Memory Review - Baseline CUDIMM 2

The DDR5 memory segment has been seeing a lot of action as it gets standardized across all PC platforms. With memory prices dropping and the latest platforms becoming affordable, memory makers are offering new solutions all the time with some focusing on high-end specifications. In contrast, others focus on strengthening their gaming product portfolios. Last year, Crucial (Micron) introduced its first desktop-ready DDR5 UDIMMs & more recently, we got to see the PRO overclocking series, offering up to 6000 MT/s speeds. While the former are designed following JEDEC specs to make sure that they are compatible with all PC platforms, the […]

PlayStation 5 Pro Hardware Review – The Next-Gen Graphics Upgrade

Sony has presented the PlayStation 5 Pro as the quinessential mid-generation refresh, boasting far more impressive graphics and fidelity from the base console. Life is Strange: Double Exposure Review – Drawn Out Murder Mystery

Seeing a sequel come out for the original Life is Strange games this late on felt like a bit of a shock. I wasn't sure what to expect from diving into Max Caulfield's story again, especially since the previous games were so chaotic and messy. At least in this one, Chloe didn't feature as heavily, and it was more focused on Max as a grown-up and how she navigated the world after the loss of both her powers and Chloe. As a result, you get to see Max as a more mature character who didn't make as many reckless decisions […]

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 3D V-Cache CPU Review – Incredible Gaming Performance At Incredible Efficiency

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU To See Wider Availability Next Quarter, Team Red Rushes To Fix Supply Issues 1

AMD's high-performance CPU journey continues on the desktop platform with the arrival of the Zen 5 core architecture. The new architecture has several fundamental changes that allow huge performance uplifts in single-core and multi-core applications. These can be attributed to the 16 percent IPC improvement that the new architecture has on offer. Replacing the AMD Ryzen 7000 "Zen 4" CPUs, the Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" CPUs do not change the core configurations but enhance them in certain ways. The architectural upgrades allow Zen 5 chips to run cooler, consume lower power, and support the latest features on existing and upcoming […]

Gamesir T7 Xbox Wired Controller Review: Gets The Job Done

Gamesir T7 (17)

There are a lot of titles where the gaming experience is unparalleled with a gaming controller. Surely, there are instances where a mouse excels but the multi-tasking of a controller is what makes it stand out. Thankfully, there are plenty of controllers available to choose from and this goes for most price ranges. The majority of gamers usually settle for a cheap one, which is why companies like Gamesir have introduced their brand new budget T7 Xbox wired controller. The Gamesir T7 brings an Xbox layout and a wired connection that works with several devices out of the box but […]

Mario & Luigi: Brothership Review – Sailing a Sparkling, Sometimes-Listless Sea

Mario & Luigi Brothership

The Mario & Luigi franchise has always felt like the younger sibling amongst the various Mario RPG spinoffs. The series doesn’t have the historical significance of a Super Mario RPG and, unlike Paper Mario, always remained restricted to Nintendo’s handheld systems. Most figured that little sibling status would remain forever when longtime Mario & Luigi developer AlphaDream went bankrupt, presumably taking the series with them. Needless to say, it was a bit of a surprise when Nintendo announced Mario & Luigi: Brothership, an all-new, rather-polished-looking console revival of the series. Does Mario & Luigi: Brothership continue the plumber's recent RPG […]

Razer Kraken V4 Pro Review – Appealing But Too Expensive

Razer Kraken V4 Pro

At RazerCon 2024, Razer announced a new entry in its popular Kraken headset series—the Kraken V4 Pro. The pro model joins the new Kraken V4 and V4 X, which were both released back in August of this year. Whereas the V4 X headset is a wired model, the V4 and V4 Pro are wireless offerings offering THX Spatial Audio and Razer Chroma RGB lighting. The major difference between the two wireless models? The Pro model comes with Razer’s Sensa HD haptics and an OLED control HUB. Another difference is the price tag: the regular V4 sells for $179.99, whereas the […]

Biostar X870E Valkyrie Motherboard Review – It’s Got Wings!

It's been two years since the launch of the AMD AM5 motherboard platform and the 600-series motherboards. Since its launch, the platform has seen the launch of several CPUs in the Ryzen 7000, Ryzen 8000, and Ryzen 9000 family. While the 600-series motherboards provide great features & compatibility with newer Zen 5 CPUs, motherboard makers are always looking to enhance user experiences through the latest technologies which is why AMD has introduced a new chipset line called 800-series. Thermaltake Tower 600 Review: Modular, Spacious, And Big

Thermaltake's large PC case catalog isn't short of options for individual needs but as the PC hardware industry is rapidly evolving, so are the PC cases. Dragon Age: The Veilguard Review – BioWare’s Back

Dragon Age: The Veilguard

It would be the euphemism of the year to say that for BioWare, a lot is riding on Dragon Age: The Veilguard. The once revered maker of roleplaying games like Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age has stumbled severely with its last two games, Mass Effect Andromeda and Anthem. The latest installment in the sci-fi franchise wasn't bad, but it wasn't great, either, and it didn't sell as well as BioWare's parent company, Electronic Arts, wanted. The real catastrophe was Anthem, though. The new intellectual property was designed […]
