Fruit supplier recalls cucumbers sold in at least 26 states over salmonella fears

The affected products were sold at stores between Oct. 12 through this past Tuesday, Nov. 26, according to the Food and Drug Administration.

Cucumbers recalled in at least 26 states and Canada after links to salmonella ailments

SunFed Produce, an Arizona-based supplier, recalled cucumbers sold in 26 states and Canada.

The company said it was recalling all sizes of whole fresh American cucumbers packaged in bulk cardboard containers.

The cucumbers were shipped to retailers in 26 states including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.

The cucumbers are suspected to have been tainted with salmonella, a dangerous bacteria.

Food safety has been a concern amid recent recalls and restaurant closures due to feared contamination.

Debi Chirichella, the president of Hearst Magazines, circulated a memo to employees announcing the layoffs last week.

Hearst Magazines, the company behind popular brand names such as Cosmopolitan, Elle and Country Living, is laying off nearly 200 employees.

Most of the layoffs impact workers based in Hearst Tower on Manhattan's West Side.

Hearst's stable of publications includes Esquire, Harper's Bazaar and Good Housekeeping.

Darcy pressed Soon-Shiong over his decision to hire CNN commentator Scott Jennings to serve on the Times editorial board.

The Times was engulfed in turmoil last month after Soon-Shiong blocked the editorial board from publishing its endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris.

Soon-Shiong has said he wants to bring more right-leaning voices to the newspaper's editorial board.
