Carissa Smith of Dixon, Mo. was arrested in November 2024 and charged with 19 felony counts including statutory rape and child sex trafficking.

Carissa Jane Smith of Dixon, Mo., was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Wednesday.

Smith pleaded guilty to lesser charges after she was arrested last year on 19 felony counts.

The alleged crimes took place while Smith worked as a substitute teacher at Dixon Middle School.

Three men stand accused of felony hate crimes after storming a University of South Florida parking garage and harassing Muslim students during dawn prayer.

One of the three men charged with hate crimes is seen taunting the Muslim students with bacon.

Students said the group stood inches away as they prayed, shouted insults including “Bow down to lord Jesus Christ."

A video uploaded to YouTube shows individuals who call themselves "Warriors for Christ" approaching the student worshippers on Tuesday.

When the worshipers finished, the men allegedly zoomed in their cameras on them and hurled more insults.

The four men were taken into custody on May 6 during coordinated raids across Dearborn, Canton and Detroit, according to local media reports.

A Ford employee was arrested after authorities said they uncovered a multi-million-dollar theft ring in Michigan.

The theft ring allegedly siphoned brand-new vehicle parts off Ford assembly lines that were later resold on eBay for more than two years.

Police said the thieves targeted high-value items including bumpers, hoods, running boards, headlights and taillights from best-selling vehicles such as the Ford Ranger.

The factories that were targeted by the theft ring produce the F-150, Bronco, Ranger and Mustang -- four of Ford’s highest-demand models. The F150 is seen above.

The Montclair Township Animal Shelter said in a Facebook post that a Good Samaritan recently brought in a stray cat with a functioning microchip.

Sean Haberle, a resident of New York's Finger Lakes region, was recently reunited with his cat, Asa, after 10 years.

The Montclair Township Animal Shelter in New Jersey said in a Facebook post that a Good Samaritan recently brought in a stray cat.

A microchip scan immediately identified the animal as belonging to Sean Haberle, an Upstate New York resident who was living in Montclair at the time that Asa went missing.

The shelter is pleading for help as it is in desperate need for cat food donations to give to families who need help feeding their fur babies.
