Zuckerberg on why Meta should do less safety research: ‘Apple doesn’t study any of this’

New emails unsealed this week and spotted by The Verge show Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg suggesting the company should conduct less research into how its platforms harm users, bizarrely citing Apple as a model to follow.

The email was sent in 2021 following a report from The Wall Street Journal that Meta was more than aware that Instagram was “toxic for teen girls,” and had done in-depth research on the topic.

Spotify upgrades lyrics support with three new features

Spotify has announced three big updates rolling out to its lyrics feature. The company says that lyric translations are now available worldwide. It’s also rolling out support for offline lyrics, plus an updated design for previewing lyrics right on the Now Playing view in the Spotify app.
